I bought a pair of Planted seat brackets and an FIA motorsports-approved racing helmet from 425. Firstly, they were incredibly helpful with my seat brackets, helping me to clearance them the small amount they needed to fit my car properly. It was also nice being local to be able to pick up my brackets in person at their facility rather than having them shipped just up the road to me. As for the helmet, Dan took time to educate me on proper helmet fitment and worked with me to find the helmet with the best fit and features for me. As a long-time wearer of glasses, it was a big deal that I be able to wear them comfortably while wearing the helmet. The HJC H70 fit the bill perfectly. read more

I am extremely disappointed in the planted seat brackets I bought for my sn95 mustang. for the price the brackets should be perfect I spent 400 dollars for two brackets. Neither fit good, the drivers side is crooked, the bracket it self is taller on the outside tabs and the passenger side won't fit because of how off the holes are in the back. These have no reason to be 200 dollars a piece. They fit like some eBay 5 dollar parts. Not only that my friend just bought a drivers side Miata bracket and it won't fit as well. I would not recommend planted seat brackets to anyone. read more

Contacted these guys over two weeks ago to get an item supposedly only they have in the Seattle area. The guy on the phone was very nice and seemed willing to help. Said he would finish up with a customer and get back to me. Didn't hear back from him that day or the next. Called them back and was told again that they are too busy to help me at the moment and would get back to me. AGAIN I never heard back. I reached out for the third time and this time they did actually get more info from me to help me get the item I needed. I gave them all the info they requested and felt somewhat confident that this time someone would actually call me back. Nope, never heard from them again. Ended up having to order the part from an out of state company. I always strive to support local businesses but companies with poor customer service like this make it hard to do so. read more

Needed a steering wheel hub for an outdated attic-find sparco wheel to drop in my silly e36. The employee who does pro-am drifting (can't remember your name I'm really sorry and best of luck on this FD weekend) not only justified the more expensive hub than I expected - he brought out visual examples of the cheaper route, explained why they were inexpensive and the negative drawbacks to the easier and cheaper route. Purschased two racing seats about a month ago. I was kindly serviced by Dan but final payment process was a nightmare. Due to certain reason, my paypal would not allow me send the required amount so decided to go with wire. The wire transfer went through perfectly on my side and later I was confirmed by my bank the payment successfully credited to 425 Motorsport account and under their control on second day but I was informed by Dan several times that they did not see it in almost the following 2 weeks time. And what I was told by Dan after was ridiculous that they no longer work with the bank which the wire transfer infor he gave me and even more ridiculous is that since he told me the mistake he made, I have not received an apology even a SORRY and he asked me to get contact with the US bank to sort it out. Later even my bank started a trace got no response from his bank. Now my money literally is stuck somewhere in the states read more

I was looking at a seat for my car, and got wrong information from Dan, the owner/manager. My feeling is they don't want any hassle with small ticket items. If I would have listened to him, I wouldn't have got what I wanted. I ended up researching and purchasing online, because I (rightly) couldn't trust their advice. Do your research before going there, and only go there for racing applications. I've talked to others that had the same experience as me, as well as people who have had great experiences there. Had a unpleasant experience with 425 Motorsport 3 years ago. Where I came in to do a front bumper install and paint job for my hard top convertible BMW M3. The person that they out source to do the job did not deliver as promise and did a poor quality job. I had to keep coming back each week for a about 2 month to finnaly get my car back. When they finished painting the hard top we found swirls and different areas where it wasn't sanded properly and unpolished. I also had my front hood and side fenders painted which came out looking good, but on the other hand i had major problem with my front bumper. Dan who was working with me through all of this found lots of spider cracks on the bumper. They had problems installing the fit and it was repainted several time. It was upsetting after waiting this long to not get it correct. I also found out later the person who did the work took my fog lights that were originally installed on my stock bumper. Perhaps they thought i didn't want them. I did got them back. Dan tried to be accomidating as he could and nicely offered to drop off my car in Seattle. In the end he left me to play phone tag with his painter/installer to get it fix, which dodges my calls. I was frustrated that I just gave up and if I they will screw up something else or take somethjng without my permission. Fast forward as of now my bumper is peeling off in the exact same spot we knew it would. I hope you guys have a better experience then I did. Avoid all custom work and paint work. read more

I went in here a couple months ago interested in purchasing an aftermarket seat for my car. They have a really nice showroom with many seats (as well as car parts) on display. No qualms in letting the customers sit in the seats to get a feel for them before purchasing. In the end, I decided that I wanted to purchase a Bride Zeta III seat, after much speculation on my part. Customer service was top notch. I was given constant updates on my order, and Ian even followed up with me about the airbag light problem I was having after swapping the seat in. Ended up paying $225 to mount new snow tires on a set of brand new 18" BBS wheels believing the work would be superior to the $80 local tire shop to mount and balance. Deeply disappointed that their tire equipment is no better, resulting in their tire clamps causing damage to the inner rims. I learned the hard way - they DO NOT have the high end "touchless tire mounting system". read more

Nothing but problems! We all know the reputation that car repair people have. When you find a good one, you hold onto that guy forever. But then there are the other one's, the incompetents who shouldn't be allowed to work on a tricycle let alone an automobile. 425 Motorsports is one of those incompetent shops, they may look nice on paper but their customer service is atrocious and their tech shop does horrible work. If you go on their website they sound good, but they don't walk the talk by a long shot.Long story short, I took my CTS-V in for a simple install of headers and full exhaust. I went to 425 Motorsports in the first place knowing what I was looking, all they had to do was order the parts and do the install. After a month, that's right, an entire month, the car ran horribly and the check engine light would not go out. They bought more parts to fix that problem, to no avail. Then I had them check the engine for additional after market parts as I bought the car used and the previous owner had already done work. I was told by their tech shop that only the air intake had been replaced which anyone with eyes could see. It wasn't until I took it to another shop that I found out that the car had an air intake, supercharger pulley, 160 degree thermostat, air filter and tune. It was this information that made the new shop figure out and solve the problem right away. In the end, 425 Motorsports ordered and installed the wrong parts, not to mention additional parts ordered to fix a problem they created. After the fact, I got in contact with 425 Motorsports to give them the opportunity to make it right and reimburse me for the additional labor I had to pay to fix their work. Not only did they not take ownership of their mistakes but when given the chance they once again left me hanging. I talked to the owner of 425 on a Monday and we agreed that they would put together either a statement or offer to try to make it right and get back to me at the end of the week. Not only did I not receive an offer or any other attempt at satisfying me, I didn't even hear back from them. In summary, they had my car for a month; they installed the wrong parts and ordered more parts to try and solve the problem they created, the car still did not run properly when I picked it up; I went to another place and in two days they fixed everything the way it was originally intended and 425 Motorsports basically told me, "tough luck,pal". I made an appointment a week ahead of time to have several items worked on, on my Subaru WRX STI. I left the car for 11 days. They only completed around half of the items that I asked to be fixed. Time without a car is hard to deal with and I thought 11 days would be enough. Apparently not. I had 3 wheels worked on to get rid of a bit of wheel rash. Luckily I checked the pressure in the tires after picking it up because all 3 were filled up to 50 psi, way over the 32 pis recommended. If I hadn't checked it would of made quick wear of the tires that I have. Dan, you present such a superior product but don't live up to it. Unfortunately I will not be returning and can't recommend your shop to friends and family. read more

I have had 425 do 2 jobs for me, both of them being tire installs. The first one (two tires removed, and new tires put on) went well. Only a few scratches in the powder coat. I would've been more frustrated with this if my wheels were really nice, but they are just track steelies. My second experience (about 3 weeks ago) was much worse. I was having them put 2 new tires on, and swap the front tires for a more even wear pattern. After a few delays, I finally got them back, well, three of them. One was totally flat when I picked them up. I took the flat one home anyway to see if it would hold air, and it didn't. The valve stem seal had somehow been torn. I took it back to them and they replaced the seal, no problem. Their customer service was great, the only thing that bugged me was how long it took for me to get my wheels back. What finally pushed me to write this review is that another one of my tires is now leaking from the bead. Only reason I'm giving two stars is for the customer service. The actual work is pretty terrible. I fear for anyone with expensive aluminum wheels, between the machine scratching the inside of the wheel, and it tearing the tire bead. Definitely not going to 425 for my alignment. Wouldn't trust them under my car now. read more

I went to 425 on the word of a friend saying that "if you want it done right go to them." he was absolutely right. I went to them for a fog light kit installed on my 09 Nissan Versa and they installed it in 3.5 hours. The day after I had the kit installed the switch came out of place and Ian who helped me through the whole process went straight out to my car when I came back on a raining Saturday morning and immediately started to fix the switch. I highly recommend these guys. I will for sure come back to have more work done on my car and future cars. read more

Working with the crew at 425 has always been a great experience; racing seat, gloves, shoes, helmet. I was able to take my time and sit in several seats over a couple of weeks to make sure it was the right fit for me. Which means they have plenty of different racing seats to select from. The custom fab guys are top notch. I've had some welding done on thin aluminum and the welds were perfect. He also replace some brackets on a custom rear diffuser and installing it; the brackets were in the correct spot, unbelievable. Looking forward to having them install a 6 point roll cage, it takes time, but so worth it. The attention to detail is superior and with very tight tolerances to the interior. read more

I've been working with Dan for several years now (before he opened up 425) and I've always been impressed with his professionalism and honesty. He and his crew at 425 really know their cars and never try and oversell anything. 425 has helped me with projects ranging from welding in a custom roll cage in my track car to simply a new set of wheels for my SUV. In all cases I've been very satisfied with their work. When it came time for major surgery on my track car, Dan worked with me for months during my decision process and in the end, recommended a route that meant no additional business for him but was the best choice given my goals for the car. No other shop I've ever dealt with would have done that! There may be some bigger and more established shops in the area, but as far as the people go, Dan and his team definitely stand above the rest, and their passion for cars shows.
