This Costco location is my favorite in the desert. It's just off the 10 freeway, and I can get gas and be on my way in less than 20 minutes. I've noticed the lines are generally ridiculous about noon until 6-7pm. They do close at 9:30 pm on weekdays, and they open early - those are generally the lesser crowded times. I do agree with everyone else about the prices. While everyone else (Chevron, Shell, even Arco) is marking up their gas at $4.19+, Costco remains closer to $4.00. The people who work here seem very friendly. I haven't been helped personally, but I have seen them provide service for elderly. Once I saw a car with a blue sign, and a lady tried to get help with her pump (her gas tank was on the other side). One of the employees went over to help her out right away. Very nice. Buyer Beware! Costco.com will not honor price adjustment for Blackstone 14" King Memory Foam Mattress that went on sale. I had contacted Costco Customer Service regarding the email message, denying my price adjustment. 1) I was told the sale price was for the Blackstone Queen Mattress. I advised her that was not true, as I have a screen shot of the sale price for the Blackstone King 14" Memory Foam Mattress. I was told "well that is an error". 2) I was then told that the mattress was sold out, therefore they will not honor the price difference of $130. This store needs a total reorganisation of their company's philosophy. How in the WORLD, can you shop at a place like this and every single brand of hot dog absolutely SUCKS??? On top of that, they do not even carry one good brand of hot dog BUN. Yes... buns! I'm not expecting the variety (and expense) of Whole Foods, Pavilions, Sprouts, Trader Joes... no no no! Nothing like this at all. People like myself and people everywhere used to go to Costco for the 'basics in bulk". Looked around to see if I could buy kitchen trash bags and landscaping trash bags in bulk...but NO.... no good reliable brands. I recognise the brands that they carry and have wasted many $$$$$ on trying out no-name brands only to have trash bags break and have trash strewn all around the yard and into the street (!!!) .. needlessly. Bad Bad Bad trash bags. Other things like feta cheese, peppers, ... you know.... the things that Sam's Club has... Costco doesn't carry... Very limited offerings. Normally have a pretty decent experience here. Today with only 3 items I couldn't see why there would be any trouble. Instead the cashier Jazmine R. (name on my receipt) was in such a hurry and lacking any courtesy, rushed us out charging us twice for one of our 3 items. I'm a Costco member in Iowa but I have been a Costco member for a long time starting when they were Price club back in California long time ago and whenever I travel I always try to find a Costco because they're gas not only is cheaper but you can always be sure that the quality of the gas is good. Sometimes you may have to wait in line but it moves really quickly and there's gas attendants there in case someone has an issue and needs some help they get help quickly. the system is the same here as any other Costco you have to show your membership with the machine and then entering a credit card they don't take cash and you have to have a membership. It is really a good value and a good company the pays their workers a livable wage and gives them healthcare and a 401k. read more

This is the WORST Costco experience I have ever had during my 30 year membership. I love getting pizza and ice cream from the food court and it is normally delicious in all other locations. When I walked in it was automatically so packed and dirty and when I was given my food, my ice cream was filled up half way and the pizza had so much grease and oil on it I had to scrape off the cheese from the pizza to make it edible. There was no soda in the soda machine and I had to get the worst soda because there were no good flavors left. There were also no napkins or forks and I was left to use my hands to eat my food. When I received my pizza it was cold and soggy. I have never had this issue before.. I mean one or two times and they were minor things so it was whatever's. This store advertises a set aside hour for seniors yet allows babies, children and teenagers along with young adults (literally anyone that walks through the door) during the advertised hour that is set aside. I am over 60 and immuno-compromised so I went specifically during this set-aside time to limit exposure to Covid and yet I found myself walking like heard animals with all ages, to include children with no masks at all. I'm extremely disappointed and would prefer if they just called like it is - no set aside hours for anyone. Shame on you Costco! read more

I was given a pair of nice sunglasses as a gift. I was pitching to my 5 year old grandson and my glasses were on my head. He hit it right in my sunglasses. This is a review of the Costco employees that work in the optical department. I've never been treated so rudely at Costco than I was recently l by the rude, bitter, angry women who work in the optical department. Generally, I'm pretty optimistic so took it as a one off, maybe she was having a bad day? But nope. When I went back a week later, same foul attitude and eye rolls. Came to Costco to get pizza for a graduation get-together. I was saddened to find out they don't make Supreme Pizzas anymore. I didn't inquire if this was a temporary thing. Otherwise the trip took less than 30 minutes. We came in, grabbed a fruit tray paid for it. Purchased the top of the line Samsung Washer/ Dryer set on-line last Feb, paid $2,693.74 and after 8 months the washer stopped working. Costco would not allow us to return the item as it had been more than 90 days!!!. The Rancho Mirage store refused to help us as the item had been ordered on-line from Costco, which is extremely poor customer service. We were without a washer for 3 months as that is how long it took for Samsung to replace it. After having our replacement washer for less than 4 months, it has once again stopped working!!. I would expect better customer service from both Costco and Samsung and am very upset that we paid for the best and have ended up with the worst!. Completely unacceptable!. It's sad that I have to update this post because I shop here religiously and I had just renewed my membership today which made me instantly regret it. Leonor, the cashier, treated my mother and I so poorly, belittled us and completely humiliated us in front of the customers around us. She approached my mother asking questions as if my mother didn't have a membership nor money to pay for the items in the cart, and of course my mother being a people pleaser she stayed silent while Leonor made my mother wait because she had to "double check" things. As i walk back up to the register after buying a pizza with my children Leonor asks my mother for her membership card a second time and says "is this your membership or somebody else's? I don't think it's yours" so i said it's mine and i added her to it, it has her picture and name on the card. Then leonor proceeds and yells at me saying "I'm not asking you for the membership I'm asking her and I need a drivers license for the liquor in the cart do you not understand that?" I said "I understand and I have what you need but the way you're speaking to us is unacceptable when we're complying with you and giving you exactly what you need!" She then realized she messed up and apologized for her attitude but it was such a horrible feeling when my mother and I are extremely nice to everyone around us and it took us by surprise that an EMPLOYEE was so unprofessional and made us feel so horrible. I spoke to the supervisor Tony and I really hope something is done about that kind of behavior towards loyal customers. Watch out for Costco GAS. I went today & pumped gas. After it was done I took the nozzle out. As I was closing the gas tank I look over & the pump was still running!! It continued to charge me & showed it was adding gallons. I let the attendant know but watch out! Make sure the miles add up w the amount of gas you pay for as well. The older man with a mustache working 6/6/24 8:30 pm in the gas station made me stop my pump just as I started because i decided to back into the pump lane. I understand when there is many people you are supposed to wait in line so you can use the pump that is convenient for you and make it easy for everyone but this gas station was practically empty. All the lanes down the middle were completely empty and there was 2/3 people on the far end pump to the right. I was on empty and needed to pump before they closed. I was not in anyones way nor making it a hassle for anyone to leave or pump. I dont know if he was on a power trip, and dont know why it was so important for him to stop me when i had already paid. He said that i needed to leave or loop back all the way around the right way. There was no one entering the lane I was in or even next to me on the opposite side. He then continued to tell me that I had to do a back out and loop all the way around repeatedly , but I just left. I didnt speak back to this man or even try to argue with him. The second he told me to stop I did because of how unnecessarily angry he came at me. Honestly upset me enough to cancel the membership. I don't enjoy pumping gas at night alone as a woman already. For the past several years after my annual trek to the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, I always managed to fill-up at the Costco Gasoline in Rancho Mirage. Merely by happenstance really, since the hotels I stayed at were relatively close to this location, and who wouldn't want to save dimes on the dollar to feed your automobile? How did this location compare with others within the chain and in the area!?: 87 Unleaded Gas ($26.00) - I still had about a ¼-tank left, but this location was nearby and along the freeway home, so why not fill-up since the post-Coachella traffic was a bear anyway!? Apparently, more people have found this place as the lines were to the down-slopping driveway - yikes! After 10.00 gallons of gas at $2.59/gallon, my baby was under the influence of inexpensive gas and ready to leave the desert and back to L.A.-L.A. land! Service - Unless there was something wrong with the pump you were at, the machine was out of receipt paper, or your Costco membership card wasn't working, it was all self-service. And, the pumps flowed pretty fast. If necessary, I saw one gentleman lurking around for customer support. Parking (Free) - None specifically for the gas station, but plenty once you drove away and headed towards the actual warehouse where they had a massive private lot. Atmosphere, décor, ambience - This was a compact gas station with narrow two-lane aisles and short lanes which didn't really allow if you needed to pass by cars. There was only one way to enter/exit, but be careful there wasn't much space to maneuver once you pulled into the gas station area. There was plenty of natural lighting during the day and appeared like fluorescent lighting at night. There were no TVs or background music. Attire - Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. Overall, the Rancho Mirage location of Costco Gasoline was my go-to Toaster fuel stop whenever I made my annual trek to Coachella not only because of the prices but for its location...location...location. The only con was the lack of space once you entered into the area as I prefaced the traffic piled up this particular time. I found exceptionally good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $26.00; NO tip required). The girl behind the counter was very harsh to this older lady and said to her, put your mask ma'am, we can't help you without your mask on. So the lady put her mask back on. I love Costco. I became a member when I went to college a long time ago. I love their makeup deals, their 50$ perfumes. I buy my Egyptian Magic Cream there. The Costco brand shampoo and conditioner is top notch too, I've used many brand name ones. The clothes are such a steal! I buy their dresses, shoes, sports bras, pants, and shoes. I go to the eye doctor there and he's great. I order my contacts from Costco and their contact prices are the best. I know, bcoz I check each time to make sure. Their coffeemakers and coffee are great prices. I can't comment on a coffeemaker price now, but when I bought mine it was the lowest price I found. I checked a few other places. Their mini fridge is excellent. I bought mine back in 2005! They still have the same brand and color (silver/black). It works perfectly and it's QUIET. I have it in my bedroom. The kitchen appliances I've bought: toaster, toaster oven, ice cream maker, food processor, Brita water filter-- all are excellent and at the time of purchase they were the best prices. The Costco brand toilet paper is nice, so is their water. Their bedroom sheets are excellent! I ordered designer bedroom sheets from costco.com that were several hundred dollars elsewhere!!! I paid under 100$! I bought two sets and gave one to my parents. The bakery is my FAVORITE part. The cookies, danishes, breads-- it's all delicious. read more
