This is my favorite Costco in the valley. The premises is always clean and well-maintained and it's nowhere near as crowded as other valley locations. This is the worst Costco location in the entire valley. Produce is rotten. Peaches grainy, avocado moldy inside. Mushy baby cucumbers Very few cashiers open. Hamburger meat brown on inside, steaks full of fat and gristle. Huge disappointment. I go to all the others and love their meat and produce, never again here. I had a very unfortunate experience with a pretty rude supervisor "Amy" in regards to a formula limit. There are no signs saying there is a limit on formula and I have been able to buy 4 per visit for the past 3 months but this time she refused saying it was impossible to override which I know is not true and have the receipts to prove it. I have twin babies and it's already hard enough to get to the store and to have her act like this can pretty much ruin a mom who is trying her best. I left crying with my 2 containers of formula which will last me maybe a few days. read more

I've been using Costco for my prescriptions for YEARS, formerly at the location in 44th St until moving to Glendale the end of last year. I have had nothing but one frustrating experience after the other with this locations pharmacy. They refused to take my insurance card and it took me several times of talking to different techs to find someone willing to call the company and confirm that yes, I had insurance. They made me talk to a pharmacy tech about a prescription that I've been taking since I was a kid (pretty sure I know what the hell I'm doing by now). The latest drama is that I've had to play middleman in getting my prescription renewed for the past 4 days. I've made several calls back and forth between my dr and the pharmacy, only to find out the pharmacy was faxing my dr's PREVIOUS office - she hasn't been with them at least a year - only for them to tell me they never received the fax despite my dr's office sending it this morning. This is with me having a typical Monday-Friday job, and I don't think I should have to chase everyone around just to get them to do THEIR job. Now I've been without my medication for 2 days, which isn't a good idea, and I'm honestly contemplating going to a different pharmacy or just closing out my Costco card for good. read more

this is a truly mediocre costco, and i'm so bummed the store at christown closed. we made this specific trip for the tire center. even with an appointment, it took an hour and a half to change 4 tires. we spent a good amount of that sitting on a bench outside, and they have an employee pulling carts in who is maybe the rudest costco employee i've ever encountered. he insisted on honking the horn repeatedly just because - no one else was doing that. he also yelled at us because the bench we were sitting on was "unsafe" but it was the only open bench when we got outside, and no other employee had issues with where we were. read more

My family regularly shops at this Costco. Today we met Bee. He was very kind and helpful to my mother and me. He helped us load our vehicle and was never pushy or impatient. He waited so he could collect the automated cart and the additional push cart to return it to the front. What a gentleman!! This review is specifically for the optometry area. The optometrist IS an independently operated office so that is something to note. My exam was standard and while I was waiting for my pupils to dilate, Dr. Bush sent me out to pick out frames. Prices for glasses are very reasonable. Frame prices range from $40 - $120 so you can really spend as much or as little as you want. I do not have vision insurance so pricing is very important to me. I will say that it's not as service oriented as other providers but hey, it's Costco. You get what you pay for. read more

So back in June I had a brand new $16,000 AC system installed. #Parkerandsons has been out a total of 5 times for this. I contracted through #Costco to have a complete new system installed and new ducting to rooms. 1. They came out for the install which took 14 hours for a team of 4-6. The new AC was installed on a stand not graded for my roof, and they slapped a 2x4 under one side to balance it, the pressure box was installed on the wrong end of the house, the new rooms we ducted wrong, and only 1/3 rd of my house had AC. About 80% was just wrong. 2. They came out and jerrywrigged the system to get through the weekend for my brother's engagement party because I refused to be put into a hotel for a few days. 3. They came out and spent (I think) another 8 hours reconfiguring the system to work for my house. Got everything working, as far as I could tell. 4. Had a major rain storm right after surgery and found a pond in my hallway under the hallway intake. Got someone out the next day and there was 2 leaks around the AC that I heard about from listening to the guy in my attic while on the phone, but was only told about 1. The tar around the unit was bad. They had trouble accessing the attic space because of how messed up the install is. You have to remove part of the system to even get access to the attic, and it's almost impossible to access the last 20% of the attic because of the AC Install, so they almost missed the leak area. On top of that, dispite all the water and the softening in my ceiling, they swore there is no damage to anything and that it just dried perfect. Tonight is call 5. My thermostat and AC have stopped working at 1 am. I have a 3 yr old in the house and no air flowing at all. I called about 2 hours ago to their 24 hour service and haven't heard anything. read more

It's the day before thanksgiving so you know the stores are crazy right now! We stopped by the nearest Costco to grab some last minute items. We were making great time for the 5 items we grabbed. Checked out with Monte who happened to only scan 4 out of 5 and as we hit the door to be on our way home, we're stopped by the door lady stating not all items were paid for. After standing at the door waiting for a supervisor, Erin pops up, takes us back to the register for the ONE item doesn't apologize for the inconvenience or MISTAKE MADE BY THE CASHIER. I even made the comment in front of Erin that we'll never shop at this deer valley location again. Erin still quiet as a cricket.... smh read more

Super grateful for the employees of Costco I had the score of the century and found paper towels and bought them,bought some other stuff and left and forgot the paper towels in the bottom of my cart. Called to check if someone turned them in. Nope. Went back and still nobody had turned them in. I was really mad at myself, it was nobody else's fault. They said they were out of paper towels so they couldn't even replace them. Then another Mgr lady said check the office. This Mgr came out with a bag of paper towels and said it's your lucky day! Want a higher chance of catching COVID-19? Then come here. Employees who have not been vaccinated are not wearing masks and take no precautions to stay a reasonable distance away from customers. Display merchandise that people typically must touch to assess is simply put back on display without disinfecting. No hand sanitizer was made available to customers in these high-touch areas. Since Costco used to be a great place to shop and they formerly had some of the best COVID precautions around, I'm shocked that they are now no longer concerned with the safety--and possibly even the lives--of both their staff and their patrons. read more

Read until the end. I was told that they wouldn't check me out because I didn't have a mask. Well. I DID have a mask on throughout the store. BUT my 1 year old started choking at the check out. I pulled him out and put him over my leg and patted his back. He was ok but in the process I whipped my mask off to catch the throw up. This was AT CHECKOUT. Not a single employee came to help. Not a single employee asked if he was ok. Another customer came to help. She cleaned us both up and her husband offered to push my cart up more. Kind, kind family. BUT again, the cashier began to refuse to check me out because I wouldn't put my mask back on that was covered in half chewed up food from my toddler. I told her that I couldn't because he had been choking. She refused. She came around to me and I told her again. She finally listened to me and stopped bitching and checked me out. But boy. I had to FIGHT to pay for my items all because I wouldn't put on a dirty and ruined mask because my son CHOKED!!! And no, she did not ask if he was ok. read more

They can only get away with this by selling cheap, zero customer service or concern that they never deliver on time. Who doesn't love Costco? This one is my favorite one in the Phoenix area. Reasons why this is my favorite one............ 1. Never crowded! I purposely skip going to the one in Glendale (even though this one is further away from my house in Surprise) and come to this one instead! Less blue hairs, more parking, and it just seems less chaotic (even on weekends!). 2. Proximity to work. I work one exit down the 17. It makes it extremely convenient to stop here after work on the way home, or even during my lunch break. Can't beat that. 3. Employees. Everyone has been extremely friendly! Most Costco folks are helpful and friendly, but this place seems to go even above and beyond general friendliness. I'm always greeted with a smile and love shopping here. 4. Food! Besides the food court (Costco hot dog, anyone? Still $1.50!), there is an In N Out right next door in the same parking lot! Score! 5. Gas. Cant beat the price on Costco gas. I've never had to wait for more than 1 or 2 cars to finish pumping either. This circles back to my #1 reason why I love this Costco...never crowded! 6. Cost of membership. Free! (My mom has me on her membership as her +1 lol!). Even if I had to foot the bill, the membership is totally worth it. 7. Quality of products. So many good things here! Some of my usual purchases are paper towels, macadamia nuts, pecans, bacon, steaks etc. Super high quality stuff and the prices can't be beat! Love this Costco! read more

I go to this Costco frequently and today when I got a mocha from the food court, I was delightedly surprised to see a smiley face in the top of the Mocha. I purchased a very expensive solar system from sunrun through Costco. The system had 26 panels and due to sunruns installers walking all over the panels and then dragging panels on other panels Costco had to replace 10 of the panels as well as the inverter that kept shutting down. The system performs 25-30% less than what it is rated for. There is a contract from Sunrun and Costco that states if it is below 20% or more then they will come fix it. Sunrun claims nothing is wrong with the system but it continues to under produce. Costco corporate said that the agreement does not matter and there is no production guaranteed. Save your money and shop with a local solar company not costco and not sunrun. Costco's claims of member first is a lie when it comes to making a profit. Stay away from here! read more

Honestly, this Costco is my least favorite location. For one, it is jammed packed and it is hard to get around people. Secondly, when you want to sit down at their cafe, their seating area is a horrible set up. When you are finishing purchasing your groceries, you have to leave your cart in the main aisle where people are walking out toward the exit. On top of that you are sitting on top of other people. However, the gas service is perfectly fine, just like any other Costco. read more

They are the quickest check out, have the best vision and photo center and all of the staff are friendly and helpful. This location is a smoothly run, tight ship and we love it! It's not that you really want to spend that much time with your uncle but he always knows a few short cuts to help you out . You are having a party and you need super tasty frozen stuff bada bing bada boo, uncle Costco has the stuff. Now you know uncle Costco can get you the goods but you don't really want to know how he got Strawberries in October , or Salmon in the desert or even why Uncle Costco takes everything back so easily.He even got me a huge bag of blackberries from some guys he knows in Chile . And the kids always like him because every time you go see him you can get tasty cheapo pizza and frosty yogurts. I am not sure how I came to be acquainted with Uncle Costco, Mom says she has known him forever and part of me knows I need to strengthen my boundaries with him . I normally enjoy shopping at Costco until I bought a laptop online within 9 months it stopped working possible virus, tech support was no help neither was hp, McAfee or Microsoft I got it from Costco because I didn't think I would have any trouble returning it but that is not the case. This January trip was a bit daunting and my mom had asked that I pick up a headboard for her from Costco the morning I was leaving. Since I was having breakfast with a girlfriend close by, I decided I would check out this Costco instead of having to brave the one closer to Sun City again. I arrived here close to opening time on a Sunday morning, easily found parking and didn't have to do any navigation through the Sun City crowd. Due to the largeness of the item I had to purchase, my friend met me here after breakfast and helped me lug the headboard onto the cart and waited with it while I brought the car to the front of the store. Luckily, a really nice worker loaded it in with no hassels. This Costco location would have been a life saver for me when I worked in the area some almost 8+ years ago. I don't think they have a gas station but I didn't look down the other end of the parking lot. All I know is that I was able to get what I needed and able to get out in a jiffy. read more

Why write review on another Costco? Well because this one trumps the rest of them in the Phoenix market when it comes to service. This Costco has the best service. Everyone is always friendly and accommodating, including the folks behind the returns desk. No "roll of the eyes" here when you return something. Another note on this Costco, is they seem to be more a weekend store, so do your shopping during the weekdays to beat the crowds. Don't procrastinate when thinking about buying something here that is seasonal. They don't stay in stock very long especially after the weekends. read more

Costco is Costco I feel, but customer service is still customer service and thats what they dont seem to have when issues pop up. To start I added my mom onto my account. Who would have known that adding someone was such a fuss? They gave my mom a piece of paper and said it was her temporary membership because the photo machine wasnt working. The same day when she checked out they wouldnt even honor the piece of paper because it was only good for today and apparently that means it was already expired? The supervisor had to come and look at it and it was a mess. Cutting it short we got through the checkout line. My mom wanted a churro. Bailey who took our 1 churro order was friendly. Until we waited over an hour for a churro. I kept asking her what the deal was and she just kept saying "Well they are done they just need to be handed out". It takes an hour to hand out a churro thats already done? Everyone else recieved their hot dog, pizza or ice cream way before I even recieved a churro and I was before them? We went back up to customer service area where my mom was supposed to recieve her card. Diane was nice but she really didnt know how to work anything and seemed to struggle since the time me and my mom arrived, got groceries a churro and still didnt have my moms membership ID ready. Total of 4 hours. Walking out at the door we advised Tracy of our poor service. She seemed to not even care. Not even willing to get a manager or anything. Her reply to our concerns were just "Oh really? Aw Im sorry that cant be here at OUR Costco". Well it was at your Costco Tracy. And nobody seemed to want to get a manager when asked, instead avioded it. Never will I come to this specific Costco. read more

I am considered high risk and have shopped many times in this facility and I need to have my eyes examed as I am having an issue with my eyes. I cannot wear a mask do to medical conditions and offered to wear a face shield and also offered to provide a negative covid test just to be seen but the facility has denied me to be seen as I am putting everyone at risk with a face shield per their words. I was trying to get the advertised Southwest gift card. I kept getting emails about it. So I went to the store and was told it is only available online. I am buying this for a gift for my Dad. So I went online to purchase. Received an email stating my order was placed shortly after I received a cancellation email. I called customer service after 30 minutes on the phone was told the hold on my account would be lifted in 3-5 days and then I need to go to the store and purchase from them online while at the store so they can verify my purchase. My email, address are all on file with my card. No sure why this is so difficult now hopefully the special Won't end by the time I can get back to the store. :( I think I might switch to Sam's they had the card in store much easier to give as a gift. I have had my membership for 12 years, now that I have Sam's for 1 year might be time to only have one. read more

I always go to Costco to shop and have loved it but this one is terrible!! I found a very nice mattress and bed frame for only $600, however, the deal was only online so i had a supervisor help my family and i order it. I was asking him questions like if they'd bring it up to the room and if they'd contact us when it was coming. THEY DID NEITHER! We were never informed when it would be delivered. They left it all outside and when we called they told us that they can't bring it upstairs and that Fed Ex was the one who delivered it. They never told us Fed Ex would be the one delivering it. I'm never buying or ordering anything from here ever again. Their food court workers are also very rude. Go somewhere else if you want good service. read more

My favorite Costco location in the West valley because it doesn't attract as many snowbirds & slow elderly patrons. The aisles don't get as packed and the lines aren't as long as the Arrowhead location. Parking isn't bad either, and they have pretty much the same selection as the other locations in the valley. Only downside is that it is a somewhat sketchy area and you may not want to take a nice car to this parking lot. On the other hand, for snowbirds this area is somewhat confusing with the on/off ramps for both I-17 and the 101, so this keeps them away. read more

Don't try to buy pizza without a card. They will chase you down and make a scene. Me and my 12 yo son came in here to get a slice of pizza. Me and him came in the exit door to get some pizza and the woman at the exit literally repeatedly yelled at us as we walked to place our pizza order. We were followed half way into the store before I realized she was yelling at us. She was making wild hand gestures and actually hit another customer in the face as the customer was walking by. I told her that I didn't have a card and she said we couldn't get pizza (even though I have previously purchased pizza without a card). I asked to talk with someone else and the person at the return counter also said we need a card to buy pizza (even though the card is not actually needed to buy pizza). 100% not buying a Costco membership after this experience. Costco makes it very easy to eat organic foods at reasonable prices. They sell many staples in our organic diet. We buy our bread, rice, spinach, eggs & juice here.
