Clusterxxxx My husband made an appointment last week because Michelin was having a sale. When he got there today they said of the Michelin sale is over which bridgestone tires. He was already there so he went for it. He pulled into the empty stall. And waited. An hour later a car pulled out and someone pulled in, was serviced and out in 45 minutes. They didn't start working on his vehicle until two hours after his appointment. Total time about three hours. I need tires too but I'm sure not going there. read more

Gotta love Costco! I would often come here for grocery shopping around lunch time when I was living in Santa Barbara. This Costco seems especially generous with the samples and I tried such yummy things as chicken sausages, salsa, and muffins. This is also a great place to stock up on booze and snacks for a party. After shopping and enjoying samples, I would always hit up the cafe. I love the vanilla frozen yogurt with fruit swirl! So rich, sweet, delicious, and cheap! read more

Had my card confiscated and instead of an explanation that the primary holder needed to be present, as he stepped outside, the lady walked off with the card and began gossiping with optometry. It was time for some essentials but didn't realize what a Zoo this place can be on a Saturday afternoon. Parking...just take the first place close that you see. Then, you get funneled into the place like a bunch of cows for slaughter, and the cart drivers on cell phones are worse than they are on the streets in Santa Barbara. Well last week I ventured out for some groceries!! And since there were so many basic pantry items that I needed to stick up on, I decided Costco would be the place. I went on an early afternoon, no lines to get in, and actually all seemed to be quite organize. Carts in the right place, area for people to lined up in rows in case there was a rush, and also many signs all around to keep social distance. Inventory was amazing, they had tons of paper towels, toilet paper other basics, I even found flour(people gave on baking ?). It's not cause is fault but meat and actually chicken shortage, wow didn't realize it was that bad. No chicken available, and they did have a limit on beef. At the register they were pretty quick to check out, markers for social distancing. Overall seems like they have adjusted to the new norm and regulations. read more

I absolutely love this Costco location. Same as every other Costco in terms of inventory and prices but the main difference is..... no crazy lines. I go to this location often and every time I go there is hardly any lines at the checkout, usually 2 people in front. Now compared to every Costco I've been to in Orange County and Los Angeles County, seeing only 2-3 people in line is a blessing when I'm used to people being rude and huge lines at checkout. It's gotten to the point I go to Costco and get an item or two. It's refreshing I don't have to make a super bulk list and spend hundreds at the location just because I used to dread the Costco crowds. read more

Highly disappointed in this Costco location. We made an Instacart order for water, for a fragile 2 year old, whose life depends on bottled water due to a medical condition and this Costco would not fulfill the order or hold the order for the next day when product was in. My sister talked to a supervisor, manager and GM to no avail. Thankfully Albertsons was willing to do what it took to ensure this baby girl got what she needed to SURVIVE. As a college student, it's nice having the Costco to conveniently shop for bulk items and general goods. Their prices are on par with what you expect from amazon, albeit without the 2 day shipping. However, sometimes their stuff isn't always fresh. Like one time, I bought a large amount of croissants for some party and one of them turned light green after about a day, and another got a friend sick... As for crowds, this place has some long lines at the check-out. Food court is so-so in that the lines do get very long. read more

Our Costco is one of our favorite places to shop. Especially during this time of wearing masks and staying 6 feet away from each other. They have organized the store so well, that you have no fear of being too close to people and everyone wears masks, during this Covid-19 time. And of course the real reason for shopping there is the excellent selection of food items, and many other items that we need! From clothing, shoes, my husband buying a step ladder, books, and many other items. Another advantage to shopping at Costco is their employees, always courteous and helpful. On Tuesday, I went to CostCo in Goleta. They are no longer limiting the number of people in the store and I was very uncomfortable. People didn't seem to care if they were crowded together. You know, I really love Costco. Not all Costcos are created equal, and not all staff members are happy but I'll say in general Costco seems to always get it right. There's a certain high standard about Costco that I've come to expect -- whether it's visiting a Costco back home in the San Francisco bay area, or if it's visiting a Costco down in Goleta / Santa Barbara area -- I'm glad I can expect superior products at a discounted rate. Came here on a mission to buy snacks and water for 500 people. Had a friend help me and we each took one of the large orange flatbed carts. By the end of our shopping, both of our carts were packed 5 feet high. Where else can you get enough snacks and water for 500 people for under $400? Thanks Costco! There is only one way to shop at Costco and that is really high on quality green. Here is what I do: -Write a list of what you want to buy (this piece is crucial) -Smoke or Vap whatever quantity you need to numb the brain. -Park way out in the parking lot you don't want to have to fight a suburb mom for a parking spot they are the most vicious retail shoppers in existence. -Have your card ready you don't want no hassle at the door. -Walk around in a real plodding/meandering fashion. You will blend in with the rest of the complete idiots that will be shopping there. A true lack of urgency is the message you want to convey. -While getting your items leave your cart in the most inconvenient spot possible. It seems to be the custom at this type of place. -Avoid the herds of people at the sample stands. They are the worst of all the Costco shoppers. They will wait in line for 10min. to try a hand full of popcorn as if its a new and exciting food discovery. -Upon checking out find the line with the least middle aged women. These shoppers will spend 20min checking out like its nothing. They will price check shit, write checks, and generally spend way to much time dicking around. Instead find lines with angry old people. They are unpleasant, but they want to get the hell out of this place. -Leave and be glad that your mental state kept you from killing anyone or yourself. read more

I want so much to love this Costco, but more often than not it is very very "average." I will still be here every week, though! Non-negotiables: Costco has amazing 'extra' member services (insurance, vacations, loans, etc.) so as I will always have a membership. They have great prices at their pharmacy and you can regularly find the best deals on choice items (McConnell's ice cream, Kerrygold butter, almost any staple, etc.). They regularly have great clothing & home goods stock, making it easy to stock up on great deals to make your home look great. But the best part? Costco's return policy. I never want to abuse their "no questions asked" policy, but I love that if my dog doesn't like the dog treats, I can return them. If I don't like that sweater I wore & washed? I can return it. If the coffee I bought was TERRIBLE and because I bought it from Costco, I have 3 pounds of it, I can just return it instead. These are great features of most Costcos! Yet this is just an average execution of the finer details of Costco. This location has awkward parking and tends to always be busy. Biggest frustration in this parking lot: FEW people put their carts up on the carousel. This can make parking even trickier! Be prepared for that, and avoid peak hours (after 5pm and weekends mid-afternoon). The store is laid out in an odd, you-can-never-figure-it-out sort of way. I understand when stores vary the location of items in order to get people to shop more aisles, but GOODNESS. It is as though standard stock & industrial engineering principles were thrown out the window (along with you consumer logic) when it comes to the grocery aisles and grouping of products. And if you're looking for something, it's a rare occurrences to find a Costco employee to help you. I hope you find one if you're looking for something specific! The checkout lines get cramped quickly and are often 3-4 deep (at least) during peak hours. Be prepare, and avoid those prime times! Overall, the store is cramped and awkward. The dairy area is in a corner, creating a bottleneck of customers and carts (I hear this was an add-on, but still. It's annoying). The aisles are small and every other turn you're avoiding hitting someone. The pharmacy has great prices but has not been a stellar group to work with. I will call to fill a prescription, letting them know I have additional manufacturer coupons to bring down the price (significantly) and every time I get to the front of the pharmacy line I have to have them run the prescription again for the right price, having me wait a total of 20-30 minutes for my prescription I already requested. This is a place I will return to again and again, but I hope so much that it can be the amazing nature that several other Costcos can have! read more

The value on electronics like ipads and digital cameras are superb because the store stocks name brand apple products. I was a bit disappointed in the sample representative at the cookie booth. The rep would only distribute two cookies at a time on the bake tray. Obviously, the warm chocolate chip cookies are delicious and people will want to sample the dessert. I wanted to reply "These are not your cookies! Distribute the cookies on the tray not in a miser fashion and allow the customers to eat them. The samples do not come out of your salary." read more

I like buying in bulk a lot more than anyone should. I have to buy food for these dumb parties that my coworkers have and I love going to costco because then I won't have to go shopping every freaking day for the hellhole. I'm such a disgruntled worker haha. It's also cheaper to buy in bulk so I ensure that I won't get passive aggressively reprimanded @ for going over the budget that I did not know existed because nobody tells me anything in this garshforsaken place. Back to costco, I thoroughly enjoy their pizza and chicken bakes, although I am not a huge fan of the chicken in the bake... I feel like it's kind of rubbery and gross. But I love the fresh, raw meat they sell. It's always delicious and fresh. I don't usually purchase meat from them because, though my roomie and I are carnivore-esque and eat a damn lot, we're only two people. The meat portions are enough for a flippin t-rex. My parents used to get the meat and cut it into smaller pieces and freeze them in plastic baggies... They're so genius. I should start doing that. The wings, roasted chicken and ribs are ALSO very good. This is just a list of all the things I like. I should just post my grocery list. Okay here is some helpful stuff. Costco.com welcomes non-members to its website. You get 5% off if you're a member though. However, they don't do the whole free shipping thing--LAME! No matter how you hack it though, they have great deals on electronics, although you may be able to find what they have for cheaper on some random online site through pricegrabber.com or something, costco has a great return policy and attaches the two year warranty to most of their ish. nahhhhce!!! =) Also, they usually include extras... for example, with their digital cameras, they include a larger memory card rather than the dinky 32mb that most cameras come with. BEWARE: The usually tame, albiet bad, drivers of Santa Barbara get all whacked out and cuh-ray-zee in the costco parking lot at around 5PM. Getting a good parking spot is a cutthroat sport. Like great deals on local wine from Santa Barbara County/Santa Ynez Valley/etc. And then there's the big keg of pretzels. From the "San Francisco Pretzel Company". That you can't get anywhere near San Francisco. For $6.29. For 3.25 pounds. I am slightly embarrassed to admit that every trip to see my best friend in Santa Barbara culminates in a visit to Costco for cheap high quality wine and a pretzel keg. Costco is awesome for college students. Why? Bulk alcohol. Bulk foods. Food court. Get a Costco card if you can. One thing to note: You don't need a Costco card to buy alcohol at Costco. Since the prohibition days, the US has set up rules against membership/exclusivity for purchasing alcohol. Where was membership barring alcohol purchase first brought into question? Why at this very same Costco in Goleta. I wonder if the proximity of it to UC Santa Barbara had anything to do with people questioning the law? (protip: it did) So thank your Gauchos who came before you for spreading cheap alcohol prices throughout the lands wherever a Costco can be found. Just go up to the membership desk and ask for an alcohol pass. Show them your ID and you'll be given a post-it with a signature on it that will let you purchase alcohol without a membership card (you can't purchase anything else in the same purchase) Other than that, Costco is great for toilet paper, paper towels, and stuff you love to eat. (I liked Buffalo Wings for a long time. Then Pot Stickers.) One thing you realize is that if you're buying food from Costco, you will get sick of the food unless you're splitting it with multiple people. One does not simply finish a bulk amount of food. If you're a big steak person, buy a vacuum sealed bag of Filet Mignon. I've seen it on sale for as cheap as $5 a pound for USDA Choice. Take it home, cut it up yourself, marinate, and freeze. You now have steak for the next few months. Not just any steak. Steak that's better AND cheaper than any of the crap you buy at Albertson's or Von's. If you're not, just check around. There's usually some steak on sale. You can get USDA Choice New York or Ribeye for $5-7 a pound usually. They used to sell gallons of Naked orange juice here but they got rid of it. It was sooooooo good too. I miss you Naked orange juice. When I didn't know what to eat Costco's food court was always an option. Polish Sausage, a slice of pizza, and a drink for under $5. Ain't nowhere coming close to approaching that price/taste ratio. read more

I recently have found out that without a Costco card you still can get prescriptions, get your eyes checked, and buy alcohol so I took advantage of this! I went to Costco today to get some beer for this weekend. When I was waiting in line to get the special slip, the guy who was working was very rude to me. He told me I wasn't standing in the proper line and that I needed to get in line with the returns. I explained to him that I was there just to get the alcohol slip but he was still rude to me. He then just helped me but was very rude about it. Then he started questioning my ID but I explained to him it was the new one. Finally he gave me the paper so I could go buy alcohol but this processing just seemed longer then it should have. Next time I go there I hope I have a better experience! read more
