We love Costco and prior to the Meridian location opening, we would toggle between going to the Boise and Nampa locations. When the Meridian located, it has become our preferred location but it doesn't stop us from visting the other locations because Costco doesn't have the same assortment in every location. Sometimes an item in Boise is not in Meridian or vice versa. The team at the Meridian is fanstatic, whethere it is the door checkers/scanners or the cashiers and even the pharmacy department. A special shoutout the following team members. Ashley who was in the pharmacy department but now up front. Madison who is up front and in the pharmacy department Marcy who is the VIP of the pharmacy department Wendi who is the unsung hero in the pharmacy department Soleil who checks you out when you leave There are plenty of others who make our visits great and we feel like we are shopping with friends and family. We are very thankful to have this location so close to us. Lastly, the newest intiative to grab hot dogs, pizzas and more is very problematic as they no longer call out numbers. The new initiative is to self check out and get in line. What the suits and ties didn't factor was how big that line would get with all the customer's carts. There is no 'parking lot' for the carts so the line to hand off the receipt to the food court person is simply unorganized and chaotic. read more

Update: Came here this morning because I was foolish enough to sit on my spectacles and needed to see if they could be repaired (I purchase my glasses from Costco optical). First of all, I LOVE that Executive members can go from 9-10 am weekdays before the rush starts. Second, I never have to wait to get gas, as long as I'm willing to use the pump on the opposite side of my gas door. There was one member at the optical desk being helped by a female employee. I was fortunate enough to be helped by Sergey, a licensed optician (I didn't know that Costco employed opticians). He knew just what to do and took my bent frames with the lens popped out and put it all together to make my glasses as good as new. Thank you Sergey!!! Overall, I love my Costco, and in the nearly year and a half since we moved to Idaho, and a year or more after my last review, I have had very good experiences. One last example: the woman helping us to return some items later in the day (yes, I went to Costco twice in a day) was VERY nice. read more

We had to find a purchase and I called the Meridian store and I spoke with Rich, he was so helpful. He found our purchase that turned out to be made in September of 2023. He also helped me with a problem I was having with my account on Costco.com. He was so nice and patient and I felt he went above and beyond to help us. We shop here sparingly, mainly because of the quantity that items are packaged But it's our "go to" for fuel. Costco's fuel prices are almost always the lowest in the area. Also we've always found great prices on the Special Price item as advertised on line. read more

Long time Costco customer here and big fan of the brand, so I wrote this with pause. Ordered 4 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires for my 2022 Lexus Es300H. Tires arrived, scheduled appointment and all went to plan. Purchased tires 3 times from Costco, so I know the process. Arrived for install, team logged me in, I do some shopping, pick up my car, come home and give it a wash. Sadly, the tire team at the Costco in Meridian managed to scratch all 4 of my Lexus rims. How do I know? I love Costco everyone but the tire team needs to revisit standard operating procedures, slow down, treat cares like they are yours. Giving a 2 star because of my long term delight with Costco but my gut said a 1 star. :( read more

Their customer service is weak. Doesn't matter to me how busy your store is.. no excuse to have a gross attitude and to be rude. I am specifically talking about the people over at the front near the return and membership sections. I bought something that was missing something inside (food item was missing the sauce) and wanted to swap it out and leave. Don't look at me crazy because I think it's silly to return it.. wait until someone searches the store for another one and have to buy the same thing over again.. ugh. Such a ridiculous system. It's not that though.. I didn't appreciate all their bad attitudes. Sure I get it, it's insanely busy and overwhelming inside but for me it's not an excuse to have a bad attitude and being friendly goes a long way! I've always been huge on customer service and I think being friendly is such an important necessity in a job like that. I don't appreciate going to a store and leaving upset. Do they hand out 'courteous, friendly and customer focused pills' in the employee breakroom here? Whatever it is that makes it so for everyone who works at this Costco, I wish they could bottle and distribute it to all retailers. I am no Costco fan in general . True story, when I lived in the Bay Area about 35 years ago and was in a Costco for the first time I almost started to hyperventilate from seeing just TOO MUCH of everything and I went outside to wait on my husband to shop. And in the 20 years we lived in Bend (OR), between the crush of tourists (now about 1.5 Million a year to that once little mountain town) and explosive growth the Costco experience was torture for how unpleasant many of the understandably hassled employees were. (I grew to dislike the contingent of rude tourists too. Just sayin'.) I was an ABC, anything but Costco, shopper. SELECTION OF THINGS WE NEED TO BUY + GREAT SERVICE HERE HAS WON ME OVER: and makes even me look forward to our roughly 3 times a year shopping trips. As in today when we left with beautiful organic berries (four kinds), Kleenex, lemons and limes, a bottle of Zinfandel for my dad (he's 91 and it fit our "90+ spectator rating / $20-" ;-) rule for drinking his fav varietal with him ), Beecher's Flagship cheddar, what passes for 'junk food' at our house in the form of Tru-Fru dark chocolate dipped frozen raspberries (seriously, these are SO good) and Milton's brand gluten free frozen veggie pizza (good stuff in its' category) and lots and lots of AA batteries (which is what we went in for). So many that the checker said "I gotta ask?" as he rang them up. Battery operated window shades was my husband's reply. "Ah! Now I get it! ." chuckled this nice guy. As was the young guy, really hustling, who boxed up our purchases, for literally sprinting to the parking lot to tag a customer who left behind vitamins to get them to her before she departed. All of this with a smile. Nice. Very nice. TIMING IS EVERYTHING: here and it is best to avoid the time when, to crib Bill Joel, "the regular crowd shuffles in" to eat the hot dogs and pizza and whatever else at the food service, wait in line and order counter in the front of the store. I do not get it, but clearly I am the oddball here to not appreciate those eats. It is nearly SRO for food service and it adds to the crush of cars in the parking lot that looks huge but is always too small for the number of shoppers. Also if you can get in and out before they start the free samples in the food section, that is swell too for fewer people. And absolutely avoid weekends if you can do that at this store where it seems it is a family affair to bring the kids to Costco for entertainment and let them run around to explore and in particular at the samples stations. Go figure. GAZING IN MY CRYSTALL BALL: We have only been shopping here for a year, it opened maybe 2+ years ago, but seeing more frequent stops in here during this Summer and Fall given they carry the same brand of organic berries of all kinds that we buy at another retailer in the area and the Costco ones were fresher and 30% less. It will not be my fault if a bag of Tru-Fru frozen chocolate covered raspberries jump out of the freezer case into my cart each time too. read more

I frequent this Costco and it's always great , but this review is specifically for Susie who helped us at the checkout today around 2:45pm. It's Memorial Day weekend, the place was slammed, Susie was working so hard she was breaking a sweat and she was quite possibly the sweetest and most smile inducing person ever. My husband and I had fun shopping and then we talked all the way to the door about what a joy Susie was. Thank you, Susie for being a gem despite the chaos in there. read more

The Meridian store is full of very hard working helpful folks! There's no room for lockers in this store, everybody is working at a rapid pace. Costco's new ways of treating members is laughable and will only hurt them in the long run verse a potential short-term gain. My dad gave me his card to go quickly grab some things for him. They have always been family friendly. I was rudely denied entry at the door due to new policies being implemented. We will be canceling our membership. they've been raising membership fees and prices in the store. there are many other grocery options in the area so we will go elsewhere. read more

IF I COULD GIVE A 0 I WOULD!! words can't describe how FRUSTRATED I am. according to Costcos policies under a membership, unlimited family members may enter if the person with the membership is present and same goes for 2 guests. My daughter forgot her lunch at home and it was too far for her to get it and get back to school on time. I told her to go to costco using her membership to get food. her cousins were accompanying her. She was told at the stand that she was the only one allowed to enter even though all accompanying her was family. after telling them that the costco members said only 1 person with the membership may enter this is not true. My nieces and nephews had to wait outside the doors. after this scuffle had taken place they were waiting under the shelter with the warmth of the heater when they were approached by security. they were then told to stop loitering and get away from the premises or they would be removed. keep in mind it was SNOWING. it was 25 degrees outside. THEY MADE MINORS WAIT OUTSIDE IN FREEZING WEATHER WITH NO SUPERVISION. I am BEYOND baffled by this. now this isn't my first bad experience with costco. something similar happened before too. I was in shopping when I realized I left my credit card in the car. I let my daughter go out to the car expecting her to come right back when I get a text from my daughter saying they won't let her back in. They needed me to go back up to the front to grab my daughter. keep in mind I was all the way in the back near the toilet paper. I am absolutely DONE with Costcos behavior. read more

This Costco is always clean, the staff always goes above and beyond. I find that I can always find someone to help me when I need it. Everything is always stocked and there is never any trash on the ground. The GM is doing a great job at keeping the store clean. read more

Remember when you could go get pizza at the Costco food court and not have it suck? It wasn't that long ago. What happened? Now, the pizza is paper thin. Like, thinner than thin crust. Any thinner and you could use it to write your next essay on. And that's it. I came, ordered a pizza, left for home, got home, opened the box, and was disappointed. I wonder if there's a little Caesars around here. Can't get much worse. I know inflation is affecting lots of products, but now I have to fold it in half to resemble anything close to what they used to be. Costco Hearing Aid Center, Meridian: The BEST ! Been wearing hearing aids for 8 years and needed to upgrade. They employ best practices such as REM and others that NO audiologists office "back home", or locally has ever done. (If you don't know what that is and wear hearing aids, you need to educate yourself.) Teresa, the mgr was patient with all of my questions, and Yohena, the fitter was exemplery in her attention to detail. I bounced around locally with other dealers for the last couple of years since moving here before visiting Costco, stayed away from Costco due to my "bias" about warehouse stores, etc., but I was wrong ! You HAVE to do your own research and you DON"T have to spend $6,000 for hearing aids. Got my Phillips 9050's with AI technology, travel charger, TV streamer, etc, for $1,500 out the door ! Had my follow up today, and was given free domes and wax filters ! While I can't speak for other locations, I am telling everyone I know that wears or needs hearing aids to see these folks ! There is value as well if you move, as normal hearing aid dealers don't even want to talk to you about service if you didn't buy the HA from them and there should be a Costco that you can get to. I'm back in love with Costco after a bit of a bumpy road. Of course the prices are crazy as inflation spirals out of control but they seem to be holding them down more than other stores. The employees are always very helpful. For the most part everything was stocked but they did have a limit on eggs. I had a slightly bad experience today but no fault of Costco. They did give me the Intel on the person responsible. The rest of this review is going to be about that in case you experience the same thing I want to let Costco know as well as the other company involved so here goes... Incident number one: pair of shoppers absolutely loading up on dairy products. Average height woman tall thin young man. Never once looked behind them to see that they were blocking everybody from getting to their dairy products and loaded the entire cart and then moved on. Incident number two: same couple decided it was time to rearrange their card and unloaded everything and an aisle intersection opposite their cart blocking all traffic. Never once looked around to see their impact on others Incident number three: I finally got to check out and was coming down an aisle to find an open register but was also coming up on a sampling card. Same young man dashed around me because I'm disabled and move slower than him I had to pull on my cart which causes a lot of pain with my shoulder injury and back injury but I didn't want to run into the sampling lady. It's pretty much like someone passing on the right and cutting in front of you. I uttered a snarky remark which I didn't expect him to hear which was "don't mind me". Instead of doing what most polite people would do in Boise area and say oh I'm so sorry. He uttered quite loudly "I won't." He probably doesn't know I've had spine surgery. He probably doesn't know that most of the time I'm in the electric cart. What he should know is that he's just not gonna save that much time by racing to the register. In fact he left the store 20 feet in front of me. I inquired at the door about him and it turns out he was an Instacart shopper. So, I'm going to go full Karen mode and contact Instacart to find out if their app tracks their shoppers because that young man was at Costco at 2:30 PM today and he needs to talking to. Sure I shouldn't have said anything but honestly when I'm in pain my filter kind of goes out the window. Just a case of another young person being raised without manners. There was no benefit to all their shenanigans they didn't get out any faster and now that I'm home I've gotta get the ice pack in the meds thanks to that rude young man! I, for one am thrilled they opened this location. Meridian is growing by leaps and bounds and having this store will help relieve the congestion at Boise or Nampa. This Costco has it all; tire center, gas station, food court, pharmacy and offers eye exams and hearing aids. The store is abiding to the latest COVID guidelines by enforcing face masks and social distancing by providing acrylic shields at check out and they've sectioned off the area where you would normally try on eyeglasses. Just ask one of the friendly associates if you'd like to try on a pair. They also sanitize after someone tries it on so there is no worrying. I find it easy to navigate and there is ample parking. I've heard that they'll be opening some other nearby mixed-use retail stores and a WinCo, so stay tuned. read more

I am a big Costco fan and have been a member for at least 30 + years. What had me so upset this last trip was the rotisserie chickens. I AM all in favor of the new packaging, no problem. What upset me was that they were all on the shelf, open unsealed for anyone to cough or sneeze on or who knows what!!!! When I called them, they denied it and said it was probably just one. Hello it was all of them and basically the employees didn't think it was that big a deal! It only takes one nut case to think of something bad to do to harm someone. I am sure they will correct this situation, but keep an eye on it. read more

If you have the option, go to the Cole road Costco rather than this location. Why? This store is noticeably smaller. They carry fewer products. It's also more crowded. This side of Boise is growing, so they built a smaller store in a larger part of town. That totally makes sense. The produce here also doesn't seem to last as long as the other store. I'm not sure if it's not as fresh or what. However, I bought a container of grape tomatoes and they were shriveled and bad after a few days. A bag of Caesar salad was soggy and slimy within three days. Even the muffins that normally last for five days got stale in three, despite being in a Tupperware. I have been so disappointed in the shelf life of all the fresh foods. The groceries that are packaged are normal Costco quality and the prices are fine. I don't really think Costco is cheaper than Winco, but it's cheaper than other grocery stores and Kirkland brand is always a good bet. If you can find things on sale, that can be a good deal. The checkers here are not super friendly and they often don't put purchases in boxes which I find strange. They'll just throw your food in your cart, which leaves you without any way to get it home easily. I've had to repackage all my purchases in boxes after I was rung up a few times. I'm not sure why they don't just box up your groceries as the standard. I can say the service desk is great. When I've had to do returns they are really fast and friendly. The food court is cheap and I love the self service station. I haven't tried the pharmacy or optical center but they seem like good options. read more

I'll start by saying this...I'm glad the reviews from idiot anti-maskers were taken down for whatever reason, because this place was getting a bad rap for ACTUALLY ENFORCING the Ada County mask mandate. While this stupid ass pandemic continues on, I try to do absolutely nothing, but when I NEED to go somewhere, I always appreciate businesses that do what they can to keep customers safe. This Costco, somewhat unlike the Nampa location, seems to be doing that and doing it well. Ok now that the safety madness is over, let's get to the meat. MEAT! I don't think I've ever been to a Costco that I didn't like. Actually, that's not true. Go to the one in Salinas, CA on a weekend and you'll hate your life and everyone on Earth. But this new one I'm Meridian? Beautiful! I began my adventure by GETTING GAS!!! Oooooh exotic! Started out dumb though as my Costco member card is old and beat up and the pump couldn't read it. NOT TO WORRY! A super nice attendant came by and looked at the card and saw that it sucked, so he just used his and said I could go get a new one inside. Got gas and went inside to the membership area. Now this is common for most Costco membership staff, but these gals were SWEETHEARTS! I initially was being helped by one lovely lady and ended up having three lovely ladies help me for some reason, which was great. I got a new card and they hooked up my digital membership, and took a new stupid picture of me. FUN. Once that was done, on to the actual store. It looked like....well, it looked like a big Costco. But a nice, clean Costco! They had everything I needed and, as always, way more that I ended up with. Not much to say here other than it was well-stocked and clean and nice. Now the ONLY downsides consisted of two things. The first thing I can't even be mad at but was inconvenient. Today is Dec 18th, so yes I'm cutting it close, but I was hoping to find ANY gift baskets to pick up and give to friends. They literally had NADA! That means none...duh. So that sucked, but again, I can't dock any points for that because it's so close to Christmas and it should be expected...I guess... But the thing I DID dock a star off for was for currently being understaffed. Or so it seemed anyway. Upon checkout, I ended up with a nice older gentleman who was scanning all my loot, but unlike a majority of Costcos, no one was helping box up everything. Only when he was almost done ringing me up did a lovely young lady come over and start tossing everything in my cart. Like I always do at every Costco, I asked to fill a few boxes as heavy as possible so I can make fewer trips from my car to the door. She said no problem, but it didn't turn out that way. I ended up with one big box and one small box and several loose individual items just placed in the cart. Needless to say, I had to make several trips from my car to the front door when I got home. Cmon now...I'm not gonna be buff forever. Fill up those big boxes!!! Now that last fact certainly won't stop me from going back to this Costco! This will probably be my new Costco from here on out, and hopefully they just get better as this is a very new location! HOORAY COSTCO! Weeee! Ps. Costco Meridian Hearing center is beyond any doubt the worst ever! The only reason I gave it one star is there isn't anything less! They should be sued for fraud, I went in to make a hearing test as it's been over 3 years, the man (who looked like he'd slept in his car all week said to go to my doctor and get my ears flushed. I did and then scheduled an appointment which they did something and gave my hearing aides back to me. I then called to schedule the apot for hearing test that I thought I did. They gal said that everybody's brain was different and she would not schedule an appt that if the audiologist wanted to schedule me she would call! Long story a little shorter I was was scheduled an appointment to drop hearing aides off and they could do something,..well nothing was better. I went to Jeff at the Costco in Boise he had me go into the room, connected my hearing aides up to the computer with my past record and did a bunch of different things and said my cones were too big letting in 18% of noise. He put smaller cones in after some testing and scheduled a full hearing test.​. .Boise Costco Hearing is the best...I hate the hearing center in Meridian. They didn't do a thing but only insinuated my hearing loss was just in my brain. I had a Stapidectomy surgery on one ear! They never asked me anything to see where the problem was nor checked my long list of Costco hearing appts. read more

Not only is the selection great, so is the pricing. I have to brag about the eyes center in Costco, called Meridian Eyes. Usually I pay 85.00 for an exam. Same here at Costco. But at Meridian Eyes inside Costco, I got a thorough exam with images of my eyes showing things I thought I would only see or find in my doctor's office. They even communicate images to my doctor. The eyes tell more about health than I ever imagined. I have been going to eye doctors for years and why wasn't I shown this technology before? I was told it is not new technology. Usually I pay 300.00 for a pair of glasses from one of the chain exam places. A little more at the local eye doctor buildings. For a pair of prescription polarized sunglasses, and two pair of name brand prescription glasses, I paid 319.00 out the door. I don't mind waiting 10 days at those prices. Friendly staff and doctors here. Highly recommend! read more

This review is for the tire department. I took my 2019 Corvete Z51 there for new tires. I've owned many spoerts cars over a span of 30 years. These types of vehicles are typically the most difficult tires to deal with. These guys did an absolute phenomenal job. I HIGHLY recommend this shop in particular. They go the extra mile to be extremely careful and are the most professional tire shop I've used.... read more

Overall Costco is Great. This review pertains to the Kirkland AA batteries. I keep a lot of batteries in stock at our rural home. About 70% of my unused batteries leaked 5 to 6 years before their stated expiration shelf life. I'm thinking both Kirkland and Duracell may come from the same factory as both have the same problem. White caustic gunk extrudes from the negative end of the cells. The positive end seems to be ok. The Kirkland AA's installed in my hi end Sony portable did same and ruined the radio. Does not yet appear to be a problem with the Kirkland AAA's, C, D or 9V batteries. My older EverReady AA's are fine. Refer to the photo. Worst customer experience I've had in 30 years. My membership was expired. I tried to return something that was on my brothers membership and his is active. They said they would return it if I gave them money to renew mine. Honestly everyone was pretty cool besides The main lady with short hair! Who has been sitting in the back all day! When she came up She said two words no then no! There is 2 other locations in the area go there!! Personally if you try and take something back be ready for a interrogation!! read more

Love Costco. Clothing kinda meh like their eyeglass selection but if you shop smart and use your food saver it's great. One good tip; do NOT be the first group who buys the rotisserie chicken. I learned the hard way. They were roasted hours before and were dry and tough. Wait till you see them actually coming off the rotisserie. read more

Customer service here is still top-notch! I had to return--without a receipt-- an item that was a brought-in-once product, so not in the system anymore. Fortunately for me, I got the ever-radiant Tiffany as my person....she perservered researching it, even calling in others departments to help. Shout out to the manager from electronics, and to Marissa, who ended up, should-to-shoulder, with Tiffany, scrolling through screens full of numbers. I felt bad about it, but they assured me that this was their work, and they took it as a challenge! With smiles! My family spends THOUSANDS here every year, and today I was on the verge of not renewing my membership here. I'm a caretaker to my elderly grandma who doesn't leave the house anymore. Today she requested that I take her debit card and contribute $100 to our over $400 grocery cart. I explained to the cashier, and she flagged over her manager who said they would not be able to do that since my grandma is not on the membership (despite being a household member). He directed me to a duty free ATM to pull out cash from HER card. So I ran across the front of the store and attempted to pull out cash FOUR times. The employee standing next to me explained that it often doesn't work. From there I went back to the manager and told him it didn't work- to which he said it does it was just fixed, completely disregarding everything I had said. What's funny to me is that this whole inconvenience could have been avoided had I just gone through self check out with strategic items and charged the debit card myself.
