Love Costco's. It's the Best Buy's and best deals. Most staff is friendly and helpful. Flowers don't last as long as they should and I sadly often find that the tops of the roses have clipped in my bunch when I get home. So check them first before bringing them home. read more

Just had the BEST day at Costco! Found a parking space just steps from the door. It was not crowded at all but saw a bunch of people we knew! Lol! Several checkout stands were open; they were all busy but there was no waiting in line- we were able to load our items onto the counter right away. The whole experience was refreshing... Costco can be kind of overwhelming at times, especially facing a long ride home afterwards. But this has been ideal and with this Ukiah location, the trip home to Lake County is much easier. read more

I am very grateful to have a Costco here in Ukiah. However, I have a few suggestions for prepared food improvement: 1. Improve your pastry recipe. Your Danish is God awful. I can taste the egginess of the new almond paste variety. The "pastry" is way too dense. Will NEVER buy it again. Funny, because the croissants are wonderful! 2. Add more variety to frozen food section. 3. Use less salt in your prepared savory food items, especially pre-packaged meat meals, like pot roast and ribs. We love your chicken and the dairy selection. It's really a fun store to shop in overall. The staff is friendly and helpful. DO NOT BUY TIRES HERE. I ordered online, my card was charged, then the charge disappeared. No email or call follow up. I went to the store to check and was told my order didn't exist and the tires couldn't come on time. I took my business elsewhere. Afterwards, I was charged (a second time) for the tires anyway and am still waiting on my refund and their error has caused significant overdraft fees that they have not compensated me for. read more

This is a nearly new massive Costco which is a surprising find in the relatively low population density of Ukiah. Foot traffic was fairly light at opening time but later in the day when I drove by it seemed like the entire population of Ukiah was shopping inside. Even the parking was spanking new with the signature wide parking spaces that Costco provides. I needed some new Michelin tires for my SMF airport car but unfortunately you need to preorder that item. For the most part this Costco is not cost effective for me since I'm living out of hotel rooms or cheaper Buddhist Temple accommodations for a day or two while I dropped off my lady for a long meditation retreat. Still I seem to get pulled into Costco's when traveling to various locations. They are strangely like a tourist attraction to me. Maybe I need some therapy to fix that. read more

Stopped at this Costco on our way up to Avenue of the Giants last year. It was so clean and no line at the gas pumps. We even stopped on our way back down to the Bay area with the same great results!! The store is pretty new and both times there were no crowds. Staff helpful and friendly. Ugh- never , never , never again. I got a refund after 3 months for vip membership. They willingly refunded me and the customer service desk is lovely (ppl). The manager was kind and tried to give a gift card that I never got . The problem is I am no longer a member. What I did not like or tolerate is the solicitation by other companies when you come in the door. I signed up for bundle ATT wifi/ Direct TV. Nothing worked - ATT is the worst and bullied us and did not do a correct install. I couldn't cancel so now I owe 400 $ for something I never had . What made me mad is Costco and the promise to back me up. No help at all. So I lost my WiFi that I had with Comcast, ended up in collection and no tv or WiFi. I also lost 198 $ deposit and never received my gift card after 3 months. You blew it Costco read more

We always go to Costco for tires! We have had the same truck for ten years and have never had any issues with any Costco's we have gone to. Ukiah not only didn't have any tires in stock, but the person we were talking to didn't seem to understand anything about his job! He basically said that they didn't have any tires to fit a 1500 Chevy truck with stock rims. Not helpful at all... and frankly uneducated about the business that they were trying to give customers. I would not recommend going there for tires! read more

We were really looking forward to the new Costco in Ukiah, and still are in many ways, but... A lot of the items we used to get in Santa Rosa are missing! The coffee selections are very minimal if you choose the non pod whole bean coffee. Our favorite.. Fog Chaser, totally absent. I just ordered it on Amazon. Also our favorite Kirkland cheese, Colby/jack brick is missing. We have also been passing on some of our staples, especially dairy because the date codes are often very close to expiration. We are hoping these are just growing pains. Oh, and not very happy with the prescription glasses I ordered either. I took them back and the department manager told me they are set good for driving.. I didn't buy them for driving, I bought them for daily wear, and I just can't get them to focus for reading. The ones I bought at the Santa Rosa store are just fine... and she said they were wrong. Figure it is pointless to go back a second time. read more

Went in for under warranty service on a tire that had a slow leak due to a nail in it. I made the appointment two days ago. Showed up fifteen minutes early. Was completely ignored at the counter for ten minutes. Turned over keys and went and waited. And waited. And waited. While they worked on other customers cars that didn't bother making an appointment. After ninety minutes of waiting they were finally done. If this is normal for Costco then I'll be shopping elsewhere when I next buy tires. read more

Just want to leave a HUGE thank you to Joyce in the optical department. Traveling from Orange County to Oregon when I lost one of my contacts last night and didn't bring a replacement. We were traveling passed Ukiah so I took a chance and called to see if there was anyway they could get me new ones; as I was extremely car sick from not being able to see properly. Joyce didn't have my contacts in stock but she was able to get a trial pair from the Dr and saved the day. She even adjusted my glasses which were all wonky and causing a lot of my motion sickness. Most cities have hour long lines and poor options, not to mention you have to park on the other side of the lot to find a space. Ukiah is the first I've been to that has parking up front and fast check out lines. You could be in an out with a all your shopping complete in 20 minutes. Great experience read more

I had to take my son to costo and was first greeted by a rude person saying he wasn't going to let us in because my son wasn't wearing a mask, I explained he wasn't required to because of his special needs, he still wouldn't let him in, he finally talked to the manager who immediately let us in, I was desperately searching for underwear and pants for my son who had recently been released from his back brace, and nothing was staying up on him, they didn't have anything for him. I finished shopping for the other items I needed and was subjected to several dirty looks from people just because my child wasn't wearing a mask. I'm appalled at the lack of compassion in our community. My son's special needs, he's nonverbal autistic and we've been couped up for over 18 months while he's been recovering from several surgeries, our only refuge was our trips to Costco. My son can't wear a mask and we've been on home hospital for over 18 months we don't go anywhere and we don't see anyone, our household has been healthy without as much as a cold for over 2 years, you don't know me so please don't judge me... read more

Went there to pick up a generator that weighed more than 200lbs. As several us rushed in at opening to grab the last of the generators I wondered how would I get it on my cart. As I got to them, there were two young men there waiting and loaded it on my cart for me. As I checked out I wondered how am I going to get it in my pickup. Nice store, well stocked, not too crowded. However a couple very rude employees, the first I thought maybe they just didn't hear me, but the self-checkout girl with glasses is RUDE! No question she heard me, no question she was showing her need to dominate someone, will avoid that nasty little thing if I ever go back there again. read more

My Costco membership was available via another family member so when I went cancel they told me I could not cancel again and that they had to call more managers on New Years Eve. I recorded Omar, Tate and Judy giving me malicious harrassing tones and being very threatening 30 minutes before they closed. I was in a hurry and they tried to delay the process for over 15-20 when there were no other customers. Judy in the past was super rude and I was told from friends she hastled them when they had a tags on the jackets and a real reason for return. She likes to be really rude as the others who over charged my cards before and created a nightmare. I looked past it but discovered they gave me the wrong change and are really unprofessional. I am going to ask for a petition for angry customers to sign to see if others have had this type of treatment. I spent alot over $100k and cancel my membership when I live too far or are out of town yet they were biased, racist and rude. read more

I came in today, dec. 24 2018 to make some returns and get my membership renewed. I don't live in the area and had never been to this Costco before. I had in my dog carrier my small dog who is an emotional support animal. Before I go on I want to make it clear that I was not aware that emotional support animals were not the same type of service dog as others, as my psychiatrist had told me that with him registered I could bring my little guy anywhere. As I began to enter I had my dog in his dog carrier in the top of the cart (he was in no way touching the cart, just his carrier). The man at the door immediately stormed over to me and told me that it's a felony to have my dog in the cart and that I could go to prison and that now they have to completely get rid of that cart, so I offered to carry him in since I didn't know that was even a rule. As I began to enter again he asked me to tell him what kind of service dog my dog was so I told him it was for emotional support. The man at the door then started getting extremely flustered and telling me that for me to claim him as a service dog when he's not is a federal offense and he could call the police right now. I explained that my psychiatrist had told me that he was a service dog and that I could bring him anywhere and I had not known. But this guy just kept repeating himself over and over that he could call the police right now and that I'm committing a felony. I still had not entered Costco at this point and wasn't about to now that i knew that ESA's are a different kind of service dog. I had tried explaining to him politely as I backed out of Costco and he kept coming towards me and repeating the same thing that "this is a serious offense and I can call the police and you will go to prison for pretending your dog is an emotional support animal" and at that point my fear turned in to rage. I had explained to him that I did not know that emotional support animals were not the same kind of service dog and how dare he accuse me of lying about my dog being an emotional support animal. I offered to show him the paperwork proving it because he wouldn't stop bothering me when I wasn't even trying to enter Costco after the first time he'd said it. They aren't allowed to accuse you of lying or even put you in a position of asking for paperwork. Because of this experience I don't feel like renewing my membership and I don't feel able to go return my items. He sent me into a full on meltdown in my car after this interaction because I couldn't believe his lack of ability to listen to my response the first time he said it and the fact that he threatened to call the police. Costco has lost my business because of this interaction. read more

Exceptional customer service! Today I went to Costco today for a return and to do some shopping. Upon standing in the check out line, I realized my wallet was not in my purse. I explained the situation to an employee, who immediately brought over a manager and 2 other employees. The manager radioed to look over surveillance and another employee went to the returns station. Having been through some Costco locations in Oregon, the layout of this new store is refreshing and simple to navigate. Today I picked up my new glasses at the optical department at the Ukiah, California, store. When I got them home and tested them out, I realized I had a rather unique problem. I quickly went back to the store to see what could be done. The eye doctor was able to squeeze me in to make sure my prescription was not affected. Joyce and Michelle bent over backwards to help me and went way beyond the call of duty! I also learned that progressive lenses are extremely affordable at Costco. I'll never go anywhere else for glasses. read more
