My boyfriend and I walked past Cote and we were stopped by the display of pastries. We ordered the almond croissant and it was one of the best I've ever had. The ratio of filling to croissant was perfect, I had filling with every bite. It was perfectly sweet and decently flakey. I just finished the croissant on my plane ride back to NY and I'm still thinking about it. Based on the croissant, I'm sure they do other excellent pastries. Last year, I gave five stars to this breakfast Café. However, a friend and I visited last week and have decided that it will probably be our last visit for a while. My friend arrived first, sat outside, and had a cup of coffee while waiting for me. I had to go inside and look for the waitress to ask for coffee and a menu. When she finally took our order, my almond croissant came quickly, but my friend's breakfast croissant took quite a while. Also, I had to go back inside, again, to ask for more coffee. There were only two other customers in the restaurant at that time so they were not busy. Our waitress seemed checked out, was looking at her phone, and was not interested in waiting on us. My partner had a croissant which was apparently not very tasty and the portion of bacon was lackluster. The nova bagel tasted fine but was small and didn't have anything memorable about it. I returned here for a late breakfast with an older woman friend and her granddaughter. Visiting from out of the area. My friend said she wanted to eat light. I wanted something other than an omelette which is my go-to when eating breakfast. We sat at an outdoor table, which was nice, but after awhile we concluded it wasn't that nice because there was no air circulation. I was certain I recalled that they had ceiling fans outdoors. Perhaps it was my imagination. The service was attentive, they tend to be able to keep hold on their wait staff for years which is good for customers. Hats tipped to management. All the omelette weee huge. And my friend who said she wanted something light complained how huge the serving was but co to use to finish it. I'm sure you e do ed with people like this! I had avocado toast with a side salad. I would not order again as the avocado was not tasty. And that was a disappointment. Drinks, coffee and cappuccino are huge, strong and served hot. Trying to catch up on some of my bookmarks -- so this place was perfect for our lunch in the Boca area. Parking is a bit of a challenge during the week at lunch hour but we were able to get a spot when someone pulled out. They have indoor and outdoor seating, but we chose the indoor with air conditioning. Most tables were full even though it was a bit early and they had no problem with us being seated at a larger table even though there were only two of us. QR codes for the menu were available for scanning on each table, but my husband opted for the printed version. No problem. I wound up getting their soup and sandwich combo. There were several soup options, but I chose traditional onion soup. The cup came crusted over with cheese and the flavorful broth was packed with onions and a piece of French bread. It was served piping hot from the oven. My half sandwich was a cute mini buttered baguette with country style pate and mini pickles. Very good. There was also a bit of salad on the plate. My husband opted for a tartine -- an open faced sandwich -- with creamy goat cheese, pieces of figs, and liberal amounts of prosciutto ham. It looked fantastic (he said it was very good). We ogled their lovely pastry cases -- which had some very appealing napoleons, fruit tarts, and eclairs, etc etc. But we were luckily too full to indulge. Some patrons were there just for coffee and dessert, we noted. All in all a good experience with professional friendly service --even though the two gals waiting on everyone were slammed. What a local gem! Six of us came for lunch and Joanna graciously accommodated us even though the inside is cozy and they were pretty full, for good reason because the food and selections are amazing! In response to the rude owner who bullies everyone who thinks their restaurant is disgusting: I did show the waitress the lipstick on both mugs and didn't make a big deal giving you the benefit of the doubt. We asked her to bring us two new cappuccinos in to go cups because we didn't want the same issue. We actually paid for your disgusting food before we left which anyone else would not have done. Keep repeating the same stupid reply with all your five star reviews. Your restaurant is a disgrace and so are you!! Absolutely disgusting experience.
