Cottage inn is one of my top favorite pizza places !! They stay late until 3 am and they deliver in decent speed. I am big fan of (make your own pizza thing) and i like thier 2topping large pizza deal. My default topping always black olive, beef and spanish! It is perfect and super tasty . But Yesterday after midnight, i ordered cheese pizza with spanish, green pepper, mashroom and feta cheese. Omg, i swear by it! Super delicious, soft dough, cheesy and warm! If I were to rank the pizza places on the west side of Kalamazoo, I'd say that cottage inn is a close second to Erbellis. The pizza is always great. The staff is fast and I'm never waiting longer than expected. (even when they are slammed) it's no wonder there is a constant flow of people in and out. I love the variety and quality of the pizza you can get here as well as the salads. The staff is polite and helpful, every time i visit in person. The thing that dinged a star off the review is the online ordering service. I like to order online and get food delivered, I am a nerd, it is my thing, but with a new mapping system I am told I am out of the delivery area, I call and get told 'oh no you are in delivery area, we will get it updated/fixed'. So, I'm a pizza lover and I guess you can consider me to be a trustworthy pizza critic. Anyway, let's get to it. Cottage Inn Pizza's vegetable pie IS tasty that's why I am giving it 2 stars rather than 1. Here's the problem, I have ordered 2 extra large pizza pies from this establishment. Today I decided to go with the large. I realized it was the same size pizza, just a smaller box. I have been bamboozled and I feel foolish. Next time I will order the medium and I will let you guys know what their game is. The man who took my order was very nice... maybe too nice. The man who delivered my pizza was not very friendly. My favorite pizza place. It is the only pizza place that delivers gluten free pizza. It is also the only pizza chain (other than Buddy's) that I have come across that actually advertises and delivers on gluten free. They cook the gluten free pizzas on their own aluminum tray and make sure they are actually prepared separately from glutenous products in the rest of the kitchen. On 3/21/21 I placed an order that Cottage Inn KL Ave- Kalamazoo delivered to the wrong address. I was promised a new batch and was delivered the original batch which was over 1.2hrs old at that point. Some of this order was going to a dialysis patient and an 83yr old person. I wonder what the Health Department and the BBB is going to say about their practices. They would not even return the $10 cash I gave to the driver who lied to me and delivered open packages. Two years and two weeks ago my boyfriend (shouldn't call him that) and I came here for a pizza with anchovies on it, the first time (and only) after 10 years of being a vegetarian that I ate fish. I don't know what anchovies are supposed to taste like. They were very salty and the texture was new - we had been dating for a little over three months and I told him I loved him while crying on his couch and trying to decide to stay in town or take a job offer in Texas and he said it wasn't fair for me to say that but he loved me too - I'm not sure how much *crunch* is emblematic of an anchovy. Being happy is potentially not real, but the gaps are filled with feelings like fulfillment and purpose and - as discussed in a previous lesson - gratefulness. Also the shared emotion of looking at a good photo of a dog. You know when you connect with someone so cool you think you'll never grow into them? And that person becomes someone who watches your face when you smell a candle and then buys you the candle when you're not looking because he thinks you deserve it? Have you also noticed the look you get when you order/pick up a pizza with anchovies? It's like the cashier is so relieved to get the pizza out of his nasal radar and also so angry with you for making him smell it in the first place but he still has to say thank you for buying the pizza. After a while it's hard to celebrate milestones, but they're not getting any smaller. Why did it have to get harder? What happens when he leaves you? Are you still worth the things he said? The holy trinity of breakups: melancholia, nausea, descent into inoperativity. You didn't deserve the candle! so you lit it 48 hours ago and let it burn to the bottom. Now you're 2,200 miles away from the nearest Cottage Inn and trying fitfully to think of a more romantic meal than pizza with anchovies. read more

I've been a Cottage Inn customer for a few years now. I think they have some of the best sandwiches in town. I love their pizza sub (I get pepperoni and bacon). It's always saucy, hot and high quality. Their Cottage Inn Stix are quite good, as well their cheese sticks are very good too. Their sauce is great, their garlic butter is fantastic. I'm not a big fan of their pizza crust. Something about it is kinda chewy. I don't notice this as much in the bread or cheese sticks. Service is always great and delivery is usually on time. 1st order: in store - pizza. Dough was very doughy/raw-esque. Topping were good. 2nd order: delivery - calzone with 2 different dips. Took 40 minutes to arrive. Signed charge card receipt & gave a generous $5 cash tip... neither dips were there. Driver tried to say they weren't on the order - alas, they were clearly shown on the order receipt. Informed driver to return the calzone, as by the time they would get around to coming back with the ordered dips, the calzone would be cold and unfortunately, I had no oven to reward it in at my extended stay. Yes I was staying at the Red Roof Inn. 40 FORTY FULL MINUTES after placing my order, literally AFTER my order should have been delivered, they called to let me know that they won't deliver there. Sure, understandable... but you didn't NOTICE the delivery address until after the order should've been delivered. The man I spoke to was NOT helpful. Couldn't tell me when my payment would go back in my account just that it would show pending. And hung up on me when I started explaining that I wouldn't even be mad if they had just called immediately. Everything close is now closed so I can't even go get myself food. I have never had such a greasy pizza. I mean the crust from the middle right to the edge was actually soggy with grease. You could squeeze it and watch the grease drip out. They were great when they first opened, but are going downhill fast. Whatever you do, DON'T ORDER ONLINE! If anything is wrong on your order, they will tell it is a corporate website, therefore a corporate issue that they can't do anything about. The pizza is above average, but the staff is excellent. My wife placed an order and forgot to ask about coupons/specials. When I showed up, I mentioned the issue (i.e., who pays full price for pizza?) and they were quick to come to my rescue. My $51 order soon became $46, as they found a way to put our order of 4 pizzas into a couple of specials to reduce the price. I have only been here twice, but each time has been a good experience. They are pretty laid back, which can be good or bad, but friendly and helpful nonetheless. If the pizza were better (a good place to order from, but only a small step up from other chains), this could easily be a 5 star place. read more
