This is one of our very favorite restaurants. The wait staff is phenomenal. They give great service - with a smile. We've commented on this, and they say, "It's because we're family, and we believe that everyone who walks in the door is part of our family, too." Well - they definitely live up to that motto. We are always greeted warmly, seated quickly, & served promptly. The food is always great, too. We love the cobb salad. Sometimes my husband gets the salmon, or the Shiner Fish basket. Those are always good. I am partial to the chicken & dumplings. A couple of times we have splurged, and had the Dr. Pepper cake. Oh, my!!! Yes - it's worth that extra trip to the gym. :) read more

We ordered the chicken fried steak special and the steak was very tough..... not able to even chew it. The vegetables are barely warm, and the baked potato wouldn't even melt the butter. We had to ask multiple times for rolls and didn't even get refills for our tea. Not sure why this place can't be as good as the other Cotton Patch restaurants. read more

The Cotton Patch has a little bit of everything for you to try. They bring out warm, succulent rolls and butter but don't fill up on them!! You have to leave room for Fried Pickles! Yum!!! The street tacos are amazing! Hamburgers and cheeseburgers are delish! The chicken and dumpling soup and the loaded potato soup are terrific comfort foods! We always devour the food before I can snap a picture. I remembered today! Cheeseburger and Cobb Salad were on the menu today along with their awesome rolls. My family & I visited for Sunday dinner and our server Claude was amazing. The food was pretty good. The kitchen was quite slow though it took cornbread awhile to come out, and the bread was real dark & crispy. I ordered the catfish but it was pretty black as well as if they fried it in old oil. The smell as soon as you walk in the building is terrible, I started to walk out just because of that. The smell in the bathroom was horrible as well I was sick to my stomach. We came in and the bread was cold, ordered drinks waited for the dishwasher to finish cleaning glasses the waiter said to get our drinks. My daughters lemonade came and it was separated he told us to stir it so it would taste ok and we waited for silverware to do that so she could drink it. So we ordered chips and queso and the chips tasted burnt and hard. They brought my sons burger out 10in before ours and he was done before we got our food. He said his burger was then for another table. We got the chicken tacos and it was room temperature and my daughter ordered chicken strips and they were burned. Came here while my car was getting new tires and I was not disappointed! Grace was our server and she was on top of everything between the bread and water refills. My dad ordered the BLT and it was stacked with bacon! I ordered the Texas fire burger and it was delicious. Now I bet you are wondering why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 well... Texas Fire burger is suppose to be hot but I didn't get any of that fire kick! It was spicy but it wasn't that kick I was expecting but other than that it was probably my best experience at cotton patch. We met two other couples here for a mini high school reunion! ( Lunch) I had the fried chicken tenders, fried okra and French fries. Everything was delicious! The chicken was the best ever. The food & staff is amazing dining in but every take out order has been messed up the last four times. The first time I did not get gravy with my chicken fried chicken and was told I would receive a coupon in the mail, I did not. I almost contacted corporate after the third mistake but decided not to. Went here on my way from Arkansas and this place was such a disapointment. When we got in, the atmosphere was cool and the service was decent, but the food was awful. The chicken on my salad was dry, rubbery, and looked as if it'd been sitting out for days. Also, my sons fish tacos were drenched in sauce. The catfish was dripping with grease and it dripped so much grease all over my fries that they were inedible! It was a really big and clean and nice restaurant but the food was so disappointing compared to the Mckinney location. Yuck I still smell the grease. My beef is not with the food but the service. I ordered grilled chicken, broccoli rice casserole and green beans. They offered a soft drink to go for $1. I asked for a Coke with extra ice. When I got there, the food was right, I paid my bill. Then she brought the coke. Apparently, she did not understand how extra ice works. The cup was covered in coke. Coke spilled over the plastic lid onto the counter. It made a huge mess. She asked me if it was leaking, as it sat in a puddle, me standing there with no napkins. So I asked for napkins and she gave me two. I tried to clean it up but the two napkins were soaked. She came back and I said this is not going to work, can I get a new one? So she took it away and I watched her pour some out and try to mop up the mess. She brought it back and the cup was drenched in coke. I asked for napkins, got two, and said, this is not a good thing to have in the car......cricket cricket. ....she looked at me with a blank stare of no comprehension. So I wiped up as much as I could and left. I was going to hospital to see my Mother and was carrying a ton of stuff along with the sticky cup. When I got to the room, I tried to wipe it off but it was still sticky. I can't imagine giving a customer a drink like that and thinking it is okay. As for the food, it was good, not great but good as usual food from CP is. read more
