The parking lot is very small probably can fit maybe six cars however, at the time we showed up there was no issue. The feel of a hometown diner was cute. There was only one waitress and she was super friendly and quick considering she was working tables on her own. The food was really good. However, the pork chops I got could have used more seasoning. My family really enjoyed the onion rings. I did get a cookie as we were leaving. However, I personally did not enjoy it. Overall it was a cute place to stop on a drive home. read more

Food was just what you hope to get at a small town country diner. Absolutely spot on chicken fried steak. Everything was worth the wait. And there was a wait because the place stays packed and there was only 1 lady in the kitchen cooking everyones food. That lady deserves a massive raise and some help maybe! Walking in and seeing the mix and matched tables and chairs just screamed that this had potential. If a diner like that has everything nice and matchy its more that likely gonna suck. Even in our wait, our coffee cups and water glasses never went empty. The older gentleman was so nice and attentive. Was a wonderful experience that made the short drive the wrong way worth the detour. Bonus: it is also located just up the road from some really cook antique joints. read more

This isn't fancy food by any means. It's just good down home cooking! The homemade pecan pie was excellent. All the portions are a great size for the price. Just a heads up, there is not much parking in the front. read more

What an off the main road gem. The parking lot is on the smaller size but we got there at 2:00 (they close at 4:00) and had no trouble. We were met immediately upon entering with a smile and within minutes our drink order was taken and handed menus. Hubs ordered the chicken fried steak and I the grilled chicken with sautéed mushrooms & cheese on a bun. To say the food arrived freshly made is an understatement ... it was piping hot!! My fries were some of the crunchiest flavorful fries ever and the chicken fried steak was devoured down to the last bite. Delighted our fav restaurant in Fredericksburg was closed today making us choose somewhere else to stop and eat on our way home to SA. read more

warning if you are only going to eat one meal in Comfort do not pick Comfort diner. The food is bland, basic and takes a long time to be served . The owner is the the serve, cashier and busser. No sign was posted for help wanted and the customers said his kids work the evening shift. The owner needs to ask his kids to help with lunch. He had 8 tables to himself. my only reason for being honest is I felt like I wasted my time Not experiencing a good meal. read more

Great place for breakfast and lunch, especially if you are visiting the area and staying in one of area lodgings that doesn't offer breakfast, as we were. We were pleasantly surprised at this quaint family run restaurant, we were greeted when we walked in by a local having a hearty breakfast that looked great, so that was a good sign for me. We were quickly greeted and poured a great tasting cup of coffee and we started chatting with another couple that we found out were staying at a campground nearby, who had also been searching for coffee and a good breakfast. We were not disappointed, all our food was great, the prices were very reasonable, the omelette I got was one of the best I have had. I overheard other customers saying how good their breakfast was, so we decided that Country Diner was our breakfast & lunch place while in the area. We had a great experience at Country Diner, we had excellent food and got to visit with locals, tourists, and the owners and talk about things to do in the area and listen to their experiences and recommendations. We wish the owners all the best and we will definitely be returning when we come back to Comfort, Texas. read more
