Fried brussel sprouts, pita sandwich with carne asada, and a side of fries!

We found this place just with a quick search of restaurants for date night near Bandera; and we're coming back! The environment was very cozy, and even though they had a rehearsal dinner party to get ready for, the place was still very tidy and neat and the staff were incredibly attentive and friendly! We started off with fried Brussel Sprouts; which were good and you can definitely tell the difference of fresh and frozen; and these were fresh Brussel sprouts. I had the pita sandwich, and omg the chimichurri was amazing! I suggest you come with an appetite though! They give you a very good amount of food!

Okay where do I begin? The drive out is so pretty but you're thinking about the food. I had a hard time deciding. I had squash blossom quesadilla. I had it prepared with corn tortilla they mill. The freshness and flavor were so yummy! Served with green salsa, rice & beans. We also had chilaquilla, cappuccino, and a cinnamon roll. All fantastic. I wish I would've bought tortillas and eggs from the store. The store has meat, produce and dairy. If you are interested in fresh food & supporting local farmers hop in your car and get over here-you wont be disappointed. If you need more-Chef Mollie helped feed those impacted by the flood and as a community we need to support!

If you're looking for an authentic, self-sustainable dining experience in South Texas, The Barn at Sovereignty is the place to be. This restaurant isn't just about serving food--it's a way of life, built on organic, homegrown ingredients and a deep respect for nature. From the moment you step in, you're greeted by a one-of-a-kind country aesthetic that perfectly complements the farm-to-table experience. Nearly everything on your plate was grown right on-site--from the fragrant spices to the fresh tomatoes, and even the pasture-raised chickens and beef. It's the definition of real food, the kind that makes you rethink everything you've been eating before. I tried their patty melt, and wow--easily one of the best I've had! Served on house-made sourdough bread, it was juicy, packed with flavor in every bite, and paired with crispy fries and their unique, house-made ketchup. I also added their signature fermented hot sauce, which gave it the perfect kick. Oddly enough, despite how satisfying it was, it didn't feel heavy--just fresh, filling, and incredibly delicious. Craving a little something extra to take home? They have a small market shop stocked with goods straight from the fields, so you can bring a piece of this sustainable paradise back with you. And if you're feeling fancy, they also have a full bar and incredible sourdough pastries that are worth every bite. If you've ever wanted to eat something that was still attached to the plant or moo-ing yesterday--this is the place. Fresh, delicious, and unforgettable. Highly recommend!

Dogs lounge on patio throughout the day, very friendly.

We had beef street tacos , chicken street tacos and an order of the Tostitos Machete. Everything tasted great but the selection of salsas takes it to the next level. However, they will charge you for a cup of water and there is a $.40 service fee which I cannot explain. At least there was no credit card fee, but the tip screen was waiting. To be honest, their bacon and egg basic taco is pretty average, nothing special, but their red spicy sauce definitely took it up a notch. Their potato sausage and egg taco barely had any discernible sausage to it. It's the communal salsa bar that really makes the tacos extra special. They do have a fountain drink station, bottled soda on ice and a pot of coffee by the order window. You can get quite a variety of mixed drinks like margaritas along with numerous beer choices, although no local beers. Because of the value and sauces, I would definitely come back to this spot again. And just so you know, they do not have a public bathroom here and they are closed Monday. Ten informative photos to fill in what words miss.

Mind you, we were not messing around and cutting into their weekend but the food was great. While. I enjoyed my food, I am getting tacos next time. The beef and pork meat were tender and great. We chose to sit inside trying to make it easier to get lunch and get out and we were not disappointed with quick service from the waiters(runners) and the sweet lady of the house. El Jefe was manning the kitchen and laser focused so we did not get to interact, however I may just have to venture to Boerne more....

I was in Boerne this past weekend and decided to go eat there since they close very early. I read that their fideos is the bomb! Which they didn't have! Bummer! The guy behind the counter confused me if he is nice or super short or just no expressions which so ever. He said they have barbacoa and I can order them as tacos. I was by myself sure ok! Then he came back to say that they only sell them per pound. Kindly I asked if I can do half a pound... the only answer I got is: is there anything else I can get for you? He ring the pound up and sent me on my happy way. I wanted to try regardless but hello? A sorry or something similar would have been nice. The barbacoa is absolutely delicious! Finger licking delicious! But for one pound all I got is a tiny bit of cilantro with it and a hot salsa and 6 tortillas. Fine... I asked one of the girls if I can get extra cilantro I couldn't really understand her if they charge extra for it. Regardless she went and got it for me. I kind of felt uncomfortable... I saw in the fridge they have green salsa I wanted to try that too. They got it for me with a warning that it is more spicy than the red one I have... no lime... no fixings... maybe I am used to the shops on the south side of San Antonio. I felt confused but still I really enjoyed this barbacoa. Next time I am going to be firm at the counter of what I want with it... if they charge me for it... fine! This is how good it is The 3 stars is for that weird feeling I got not the actual food. I hope it will be a better experience next time because for sure I am coming back!
