Food is usually always good. Service is good. Except for that one older waitress. She's not very nice, has no sense of humor and doesn't even smile. Was very short with my niece who was trying to be nice. Ambiance is quiet. read more

A friend of ours loves this place ,and absolutely raves over one of their items (pot roast or meatloaf or something). We've tried it a few times, and never had a good experience. One that sticks out in my memory was a breakfast of bacon and eggs, and their bacon was barely cooked. No one likes chewy half-raw bacon. I think I got their chicken pot pie once before as well and it was OK. Overall very mediocre restaurant, but it's not like there's a plethora of choice in Myerstown. read more

This is the third and last time going here for us. Just like the last two times omelet overcooked and dried out, sausage was burnt and It was 2 links sliced in half but I only got 3 pieces not 4?? I asked for well done home fries they were mushey just like last time. Croissant was burnt, eggs dried out and bacon burnt!!! The waitress never came back to see how everything was for us. I haven't been here in years, but had lunch here the other day with my grandparents. We were quickly seated in a booth. Our server was able to answer any menu questions, very friendly and super attentive to our table throughout our dining experience. My grandfather got the Smokey chicken dish, which was a hearty portion (looked good). My grandmother got a salad, which was BIG! I got the tuna salad sandwich, which was a special. I'm very leery of ordering tuna when going out. However, it was SO good! I definitely can't wait to go back and get that again. I thought the portions were excellent and the prices were fair. The food was good once we got it. It was not busy and it took the waitress 15 minutes to greet us and 45 minutes to get our food.

We have driven by this restaurant many times and today decided to stop in for lunch. My husband had the broiled cod and I had the pressure cooker chicken. Neither meal was memorable, my potato filling tasted like fish. I will say they have a bakery, and the items looked good so I bought an oatmeal Whoopie pie. It was the best thing of the day. If I want another I'll stop in, but we won't be having any sit down meals here again. read more

Pretty good food with good prices. They had no problem with us coming in 20 minutes before closing, even though we ended up taking a lot of time with our meal. I had the salmon and shrimp, which was pretty tasty. My wife had the chicken quesadilla which she liked, and there was plenty of it. I had a cream puff for dessert and that was awesome! I ordered the chicken wings to take home, and they were okay, nothing special. Half of them were sauced hot, but the other half were kind of plain. That was weird. The best part of the evening was Mario, our server. He would be completely at home serving in an upscale restaurant, and seemed slightly out of place here. The service was despicable. I definitely felt like I did not belong, due to the waitress being very rude and fake (I asked for another shake and she side-eyed me and snatched my glass) and the hostess giving me dirty looks throughout my meal. The food was not that great and after the way they treated me I won't be going back. I'm not sure if they were rude because I'm Spanish and darker skinned or not. But that is the vibe they gave off. We have been eating here for years, but left after realizing many staff were not wearing masks, and they were at higher capacity than allowed. If they aren't going to follow guidelines to keep people safe, I can only imagine what they might not care about when it comes to keeping our food safe. This restaurant is absolutely terrible inside the back of the kitchen. As a previous worker I've seen them coughing on food, touching it with there bare hands, not cleaning up messes, and washing there hands very rarely. The kitchen is also really dirty. The floor looks like it's hardly cleaned and the pipes have all this what looks to be mold on them this place is not somewhere you want to eat. I quit once I saw how bad it was. read more

This is the typical "family style" restaurant/diner you find in this area of Pennsylvania. What sets Country Fare apart is that it's beautifully decorated in a country floral style that reminds me of my grandma's house. That's a good thing because my grandma was a heck of a cook and so are the folks in the kitchen at Country Fare. Their broasted chicken is from heaven. I am also particularly fond of their cranberry relish, something I'd never had before dining at Country Fare. Since tasting it, I've tried it in numerous places and no one can make it half as good as County Fare. There is only reason I am going with four stars instead of five: they close crazy early. Maybe it's standard here in PA, but I grew up in Jersey, land of the 24-hour diner, and I would so love to find a good place open late. read more

We stumbled upon Country Fare Restaurant after every other place we tried was extremely crowded. We were seated in a quaint dining area; somewhat dated "country" decor (lots of florals), but still bright and clean. Although the restaurant was crowded, we still felt like we had some privacy. Our waitress was cheerful and attentive, the food arrived quickly and was fresh & hot. Hubby ordered roast beef with mushrooms & onions, a baked potato, and a salad. I had the hot roast beef sandwich & fries. Everything was delicious. We decided to try their desserts and...minds blown! Hubby had coconut cream pie; I had a hot fudge sundae made with moose tracks ice cream. WOW! The perfect end to an excellent meal! We highly recommend Country Fare and plan to return the next time we're in the area. read more

Good prices, some interesting menu items-- not as typical as similar comfort-food restaurants. Clean! Homey atmosphere, sweet people. I had marinated trout and sautéed spinach with bumbleberry pie for dessert. Happily, the pie had real flavor, not just a sugary mess like a lot of PA Dutch style desserts. Traditional country cooking....tasty, and good. As soon as you walk in the door, the baked good smell so good and tempting. Since it was st patty's day and i went for the shepard's pie...it was good, and very fresh. Everyone looked happy with their meals and the chicken looked awesome. read more

We have been going here for awhile now and always seemed to be really good but, it was so-so this trip. Food was ok and server was not the best. Also, took home some brownies and they were awful! Way too chewy and had a terrible after taste. Will never purchase those or any other baked goods from there again. read more

Mom and I went for breakfast, I am from NJ, but grew up in Schuylkill Haven, I love this place. The elderly woman who greets you is such a sweetheart. Our waitress, Megan, was such a great help, and extremely personable, we ordered our food, and mom goes just for the baked oatmeal, and she is NEVER disappointed, having gone here for 10 years or more, and always gets the same thing. All the people who eat here and work here are so nice and friendly, (being from NJ this is a welcomed change)... Always a great place to go when I come home to visit. read more

The best french toast and best pumpkin pancakes I've ever had in my entire life!!! Love the breakfast here. The only thing I don't like is that one of the servers is always on the rush. One of the BEST diners I have ever been too! My mom and I were in the area and a local woman recommended this place to us. I ordered the broccoli ranch chicken and my mom had the pork chops. Both were DELICIOUS! The chicken was very tender and tasted like it was fresh off of the grill and the broccoli on top was also fresh. My mom's pork chop with the bourbon sauce on the side was incredible! They also tasted fresh off of the grill and were very juicy and flavorful. She said it was probably the best pork chop she's ever had and I would have to agree. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food and the generous portions. Went here for a quick lunch after a long day. All of the food was great with good prices and portion sizes. The Alice springs chicken was tender and seasoned very well. The bourbon burger was juicy and the bourbon sauce was amazing. The fried shrimp and fried clams we crispy and crunchy and not greasy at all. The desserts were great, not too sweet but hits the spot. All of the desserts are homemade at the restaurant. Service was great, and servers were warm and friendly. The restaurant is clean and the decor give off a "homey" feel. Very nice restaurant with all the country food you would expect. I got the grilled ham with pineapple sauce, potato filing, green beans; my husband got baby back ribs, coleslaw, and salad, and neither of us had any complaints. The prices are very fare. The decor is very nice as well, with lots of hunting trophies and such in the "cafe" counter area. One of the biggest drawbacks for me was the elevator music in the background, but I think it fit the style of most of the customers. read more

Solid traditional country food...this place is just below awesome. You get personal service that Bob Evans and Cracker Barrel just does not offer.
