So I've heard this has a new owner and I've been meeting to try it. I had veggie omelet with american cheese , grits and rye toast. My husband had sausage gravy and biscuits, over easy eggs and has browns. Let me start with the veggie omelet. It was either canned or cooked beyond recognition veggies. They forgot the cheese and took the omelet back to the kitchen, opened it, and threw in cold cheese and did not bother to heat it up. But since I had to scoop out the veggies to make it edible it was a good thing the cheese didn't melt. The grits were inferno hot. I burned the roof of my mouth. So I put a spoonful of the grits on top of the cheese to help melt it and wrapped it back up. So breakfast was a grits and cheese omelet. The rye toast was good. Typical rye nothing fancy or home made My husbands breakfast ; He loves hot sauce - so I steal a bite of his gravy before he slathers the hot sauce on. It had a bit of an odd flavor. I thought maybe smoke flavor , my husband says he did not think it was pork in the gravy. The biscuit was dense, hard and dry. The hashbrowns were plentiful, but lacks any flavor. They didn't use any onions or anything else and the potatoes when they cook some. Nothing a little salt and ketchup can't help. We got a side order of ham to split and that was delicious We did inquire about if they just did eggs as a side order. Three eggs would be $4.94 and the side of ham I think was $3.95 so if you didn't want the potatoes and toast and you just wanted to do some eggs and bacon or eggs and ham, it would be a very cost-effective option and probably the only option we would use if we went back. read more

My husband orders steak and eggs about 3-4 times a wk. He orders his steak med eggs over med and hash browns crispy w/toast med. The young man that works there knows exactly how my husband likes his food cooked. He brings it home steak is rare eggs were overcooked hard hash browns were raw toast not cooked. He immediately called no answer! Keeps calling no answer. He called yesterday no answer. This morning he went up there to tell them about how he couldn't eat his meal. The young girl looks to be Hispanic gets nasty with him and told him he should have brought it back that day. He would have however they wouldn't answer the phone they closed at 2pm he had to return to work. The young lady told him you think we owe you a steak and eggs. He showed her pictures of the entire me. Still she didn't care the cooks were speaking Spanish laughing at him. He we out side and brought in the steak to show them he didn't eat it and it as rare! She told him I'm not looking at that. She went to the back speaking Spanish they made him a new steak and hash browns crispy W toast asked if he wanted butter he said yes. I can't believe what they did he received a new steak over cooked it's so thin and dry it's gross , hash browns over cooked can't even eat the toast not cooked eggs were cooked right but they were so small it looks like they gave him half!!! He ordered me avocado toast it's absolutely disgusting ! It's not grilled toast it's soggy nasty wheat bread with brown avocado smashed on it with spinach and everything seasoning all over it to cover the brown avocado. It's so salty I can't eat it ! This is ridiculous almost $9.00 for something that's nothing like I've had from there before. It doesn't look anything like the picture not even close. The way they treated my husband is unacceptable. He spends alot of money there like I said he gets steak and eggs 3-4- time a wk. I feel like they treated my husband like he was trash because they are racist! He is a 58 yr old caucasian man they spoke Spanish in front of him, laughing at him while talking about him ! What they don't know is that he understands Spanish! They were being so disrespectful called him a stupid Gringo . This establishment needs to hire new people!!!!! He goes in there. They said oh our phone is on my husband's turned. He dials the number calls it and the phone is turned off. They don't turn the ringer on again attitude. My parents have lived here for over 30 years. They've always gone to cup and saucer we've always gone there , we have friends and family members that they have treated poorly over complaining about how there's food was cooked. They lost very good business and I will see to it that I write a review on every platform to let everyone know exactly how they treat people and encourage them not to go there at all. I hate to leave bad reviews, however....... I tried to eat there this morning. Ended up ordering Southern Benedict. When it arrived the house made gravy looked like muddy water, at best, with small pieces of sausage in it. The server said "sorry, the gravy is a little watery". NO, the gravy/soup was nothing anyone would want to consume, it never should have left the kitchen! She was nice enough to offer to replace it, however, if the kitchen would send that out, why would I try anything else? I declined and offered to pay for my coffee and leave, and she let me do both, didn't even offer to comp the 1/2 cup of coffee I drank. I have been having breakfast here for 20 years. Basic diner breakfast and lunch menu. They recently have new owners. Pretty much the same , so far , but actually a little better. My breakfast was served before I finished my first cup of coffee. And my ham and swiss omelet was a little thicker than usual with fresh cut ham. They have about 12 different flavored coffees, made with fresh ground coffee beans. Recently ordered a take out BLT , was very good and comes with a side. I used to give this place 5 stars, the old owner knew the meaning of quality food and service. We gave the new owners 2 chances.. last time we came here with new ownership, it was ok at best... however today... was just horrible... first off our server was NOT properly trained, he knew nothing about the menu or specials. My husband and our friend ordered the Jersey sandwich, server was dumbfounded on what it was, asked someone else, she explained and he still rang in the wrong thing.. the way they fixed it was bringing it back to the kitchen and throwing it on a piece of stale bread... so the eggs ham and the cheese got even colder ... not to mention the sandwich comes with a side, which they never got... my husband ordered corn beef hash with cheese ontop as well, came out freezing cold and again, old hard cheese... I ordered nova sandwich, it had no cream cheese, tomato was green and red onions were clear... aka old...my frozen toasted bagel was freezing cold and hard.. I just got home and I feel like sick from the food... This spot used to be our go to on the weekends, I can say with certainty we will never be back...... When we asked for the manager, our server said she's busy and she cannot come out ...... We told him that we need to talk to her and have her come out when she has a moment.... She never came out. We waited 45 minutes. The restaurant was dead. By the time we ask for the check and left.... We waited over 40 minutes for her to come out and talk to us, and all she did was hide in the kitchen... Wasn't sure but the past two times I have been there (over the past year) I noticed changes and today I asked and I found out the place is under new ownership. The menu has changed... The complete service staff that we all got to know and love (the heart of the business) is gone... Prices went up and I do understand that given the state of the todays economy but to get an egg sandwich and ADD a piece of ham it's ridiculous that it's $3.99 (in addition to the cost of the sandwich) to add one piece of ham.... I'm not sure whether the new owner(s) cleaned house and got rid of all the staff but if you did, that was a BIG MISTAKE . They were the business especially Maria. And if you would just keep a register and paper and pen and not go high tech in a small diner type restaurant that would help with keep the prices down. There's no need to have electronic order and paying devices it's not an Apple Store. Bad choice. All the times I have been going there for the past 5/6 years the restaurant was 95% full (sometimes we would have to even wait because it was full). Today when we walked in there was a table of four ladies that were just leaving and then the entire time we were eating it was just my friend and I. As we left two older guys walked in and all four of us joked on "having reservations". I think whomever purchased this once staple in the community made a very bad mistake by the changes they made. Good luck trying to turn this place around it's going to be tough. I always took friends from out of town for a good breakfast but I don't think I'll be doing that anymore. We came here a few weeks back for lunch -- but we had breakfast again. This place reminded me much more of a luncheonette or diner than its name suggests ("bagel shop"). I had gone nearby to grab a nail polish change. I decided since this was close and open, to try it. It was a cool morning and I'd been thinking about cocoa. This could have been a packaged mix, but I didn't care. It was just what I wanted -- and the fifty cents extra for the whipped cream was a good idea to "splurge" for (lol). I had their breakfast special of one egg on an English muffin with bacon (your choice of meats). Plus, it came with a slice of their homemade heated on the grill poppyseed muffin (the type changes) . I rarely give bad reviews, but unfortunately, my experience was less than adequate. The servers were not the problem at all. Very nice and accommodating. The food was just so bland. I ordered eggs over easy, grits and toast. The grits had no seasoning and were so thick and hot like they had been sitting in a crackpot for hours. It took the whole meal to wait for them to cool down. The butter on the toast was flavorless, it was just so below par. The presentation so plain. I doubt I'll go there again. It used to be much better there. Not sure of they don't season on purpose so, customers do it themselves, but the quality didn't seem very good. Stopped in this last weekend with my family. Service was good! But the food, not so much. I ordered biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs and hashbrowns. The food was falling off the plate which seemed good, until I thought "where has this piece touched". The biscuits were cold and you could tell they were frozen. The sausage gravy was the sweetest and odd tasting gravy I've ever had. I had 2 bites and stopped eating. Eggs and hashbrowns were fine. My husband ordered the eggs Benedict. He said the hollandaise sauce tasted weird but everything else was fine. 2 stars goes towards quick service and always topping off coffee, but the 3 stars deducted because of food. So I came in today for the first time to the cup and saucer restaurant. Ordered a club sandwich and fries. The food is beyond amazing. The club sandwich had loads of Turkey and a more than generous helping of French fries. It's big and beautiful inside but still has the classic Americana down to earth feel. The staff was very kind and courteous. I especially want to mention two servers Melissa and Paula who are sweet, friendly and make everyone feel welcome. I've been to quite a few different diners and restaurants in Florida and I would rank cup n saucer as one of the best in terms of ambiance, food quality and overall friendliness of staff. If you haven't been here I definitely suggest you check it out. Definitely request either of those two servers. read more

It was just alright for me. I grabbed a bite for lunch the other day and the food was ok. I got a cup of broccoli cheese soup and it was kind of bland. The turkey sandwich with cheese along with a side of fries was the usual. I expected a little more flavor, but I'll take what I get. It was fairly reasonable since it was $8 bucks for the whole thing. My son's meal consisted of a grilled cheese sandwich and crinkle cut fries. He enjoyed munching on it and it was a good deal for 5 bucks. The restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch. They close at 3 p.m. every day and it's a decent size mom and pop cafe. The menu items looked tasty and I would see about getting something else next time I went. I wouldn't mind trying the breakfast menu either since it looked good as well. The staff was very sweet and attentive to the customers. They run specials every day of the week, so it's worth checking out if you're in the area. read more

Breakfast lovers BEWARE the cup and saucer is no longer the same family owned establishment with great food that we have all loved for so many years... it seems they are under new management and it's very apparent.... My wife and I have been eating here since we moved to lake worth in 2018 and have always had a great experience food quality was always good and fresh... plates always came out steaming hot and Maria always provided excelente service even when they were really busy... sure like every establishment they had their small issues but were always willing to make it right... However since the restaurant changed ownership my wife and I have had nothing but horrible experiences.... A month ago we went in and the restaurant was a ghost town... but we didn't think much of it as it was around 12 noon but after placing our order and receiving our food we immediately realized why... the food was sub par... eggs over cooked they only had regular crème cheese avocado looked bad and not fresh etc and despite being empty food was Luke warm almost cold.... We figured they were have some transition issues so we chalked it up to a bad day.... However today we had some friends in town so we decided to go get breakfast and after going to other restaurants in the area and being told they all had an hour wait we decided to give the new cup and saucer another try and boy was that a mistake.... The server while a nice young man was clueless about the menu had no idea what a pork roll or taylor ham was despite it being featured on the menu... he had no clue what kinds of crème cheeses they offered etc all things I would think a server should know... however we chalked it up to maybe him being new.... So we ordered two jersey sandwiches, a bagel lochs and cream cheese and a side of corn beef hash... The restaurant was prob about 70% full at the time. However our food took about 40mins and when it did arrive rather then getting 2 Jersey sandwhich we got 3 pieces of thinly cut taylor ham with 2 eggs on a plate and no side item despite it listed on the menu as including a side... we tell the server, and he takes them back...they take what was on the plate and throw it in a stale cold Keisler roll... he comes back with both sandwiches which are now ice cold the american cheese is hard and rubbery and still no home fries.... The side of corn beef has was also cold over cooked and unappealing... and the bagel, lochs and cream cheese came with 1 small piece of onion and green tomato that was hard and not ripe and no cream cheese... my wife brings it up to the server and he quickly goes back and comes back with cream cheese a few more onions and tomatoes that were so ripe they were slimy and falling apart. At this point I asked to speak to a manager as I really wanted to make them aware of these things in hopes that they could make things better for the future however the server comes back and tells me that the manager is busy and can't come out and that she/he will try and come out when they get chance needless to say we waited at least 30 mins before we gave up as the realization set in that the manager had no intention to come to our table.... Needless to say I didn't eat my food... however my friend and my wife ate some of theirs as they were starving but quickly started to feel a bit sick... which makes us believe that the quality of the products they are using is subpar.... Needless to say my friends I'm truly sad that one of our favorite breakfast spots has gone so downhill... I wish they would have never sold! But hey if you want a decent breakfast go somewhere else.... Heck even McDonalds would be a better choice.... read more

Really awesome spot to stop in for a meal, especially if you have a mixed bag of diners who can't decide between lunch and breakfast. I got the Californian omelette which was tasty and came with home fries and toast. My only complaint - and really the only reason for me why this wasn't a 5 star review - is that my omelette included sundried tomatoes (only two I could count made it in), avocado (ok amount, not terribly plentiful, spinach (tons of this!), onions, cheddar cheese and "sweet peppers" which I usually associate with the non green varietals. Of course, it included green peppers - and only green peppers - which do not sit well with me. I ended up picking them out, which isn't a huge deal, and now I know to not assume anything when it comes to peppers listed as an inclusion. I do take responsibility for this one because I ought to have known better to ask but I also can't think of anyone who would rightly describe green peppers as sweet. It was really a mostly spinach and onion omelette at the end of the day, fine really and just gives me an excuse to try something different next time! We arrived around 1:30 so towards the end of the day for them and the service was terrific. Mom and dad had diet soda and I had decaf coffee, which immediately led my father to ask about why HE didn't have coffee. I swapped my drink with him since he was determined to have coffee (and I didn't want to order a second cup) and the staff were super kind to simply get me a fresh cup of coffee too, everyone is a winner! Dad's burger was prepared just how he likes it (one step away from mooing) and he ate the whole thing along with the crinkly fries so wins there as well. Mom got the healthy breakfast sandwich, declared delicious several times, so happy parents all around. I had ordered my home fries well done and wouldn't you know it... well done indeed! Just how I like them really, a little burnt :) All in all, a really great meal and experience. As soon as I walked in here, I immediately felt the family vibe and Southern hospitality. We were greeted with smiles by multiple servers. The menu is very extensive that it may be overwhelming at a first glance but I love having options. I ordered the Hash n' Eggs. I was highly impressed by the service. Multiple servers came by our table frequently to refill coffee. The food came out in less than 10 minutes! The corned beef hash was made just how I like it: crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. For my side, I ordered potatoes, which were too burnt on some parts but the rest of it was great. The dish also came with eggs any style and toast or a bagel. The prices were also pretty cheap compared to other breakfast restaurants I've been to. Service is adequate but the servers understandably favor their regulars. The breakfast menu is comprehensive but the food is served at room temperature. I had biscuits and gravy and the dish was well prepared although spicy which I like but some would not. However, it was not even remotely warm. This is a good neighborhood place but not worth a destination drive. Servings are generous and prices are very low. Our first red flag should have been when we called and asked if there was a wait and the gal said yes, but someone in the back yelled "tell them no." We waited 15 minutes for a table. That depends on if you are in a hurry or not. Once we sat down, there were already people came and asked if we wanted coffee. 30 seconds later, someone came and asked if we are ready to order. We said no and continued to look at the menu for another minute. Someone else came and asked if we are ready to order. I ordered the omelette with bacon, tomato and cheese. Now, wouldn't you imagine eggs with bits of bacon, tomato and cheese all blended in? No, it was bacon, tomato and cheese SANDWICHED between eggs. Usually, omelette is very easy to eat, but now it's a very hard task. I expected my hash brown to be browned, but it was all white when I got it. It wasn't cooked long enough.
