Out of the blue my wife and I tried this place since I was feeling like eating an omelette today. I had an omelette with onions, turkey sausage and spinach that was delicious. My wife had the cheesesteak sandwich and she enjoyed it. Service was great and ambience is a traditional diner and clean. This may have been a Greek diner at one time but it's more of a regular local luncheonette. There are only two Greek items on the menu -- a salad and gyros, now. We were going to get donuts at the place on the other end of the strip when we decided that we really should eat lunch first. This was one of the two options nearby. We came in during their last hour of service. We sat at the counter. There were a few takeout orders bring picked up, but just us and two other customers at the counter... and one in the dining room. The place is pretty standard -- and plain. No ambiance here. My husband ordered the meatloaf lunch with mashed potatoes and vegetables. He said the meatloaf was good, but a bit too crumbly. The potatoes were decent. I was not that hungry and not much appealed on the menu. I just got a cup of their chicken florentine soup. It was a broth with lots of softened rice with bits of chicken and a few pieces of spinach. Service was okay. I had to send my soup back to be warmed. We had a nice chat with the other guy seated at the counter, we ate, and we left. read more

I was invited to lunch at southend kitchen by a friend of mine who I sing in the choir with that church. She and her mother eat there every single Sunday after church and I see why! We were so pleased with the service and the food. It's a little tight in there, but it seems like everybody knows everybody else anyway lol we saw two other parishioners in there having lunch when we arrived. Then the aunt of another one of our church parishioners and Choir mates came in with her friends. And, the people at the table to our right, although we didn't know them, declared us their new best friends by the end of the meal lol I had breakfast consisting of corn beef, hash grits, raisin toast, and egg scrambled soft. I also had black coffee. My friend had a patty melt with mustard and a pickle and fries. Her mom had a chicken salad sandwich. Everything was fantastic :-)I can't say anything negative about this little diner and I'm so glad that I finally got a chance to eat here. Everything was really affordable, hot, and fresh. For everything that southend lacks, it makes up for in service. I came here looking for the small diner experience, i got just that - minus the apple pie. As soon as i walked in, i was greated by both of the employees by the counter. They were both pretty chatty - which i would normally hate, but today was a chatty day for me too since this was my first stop in my eastcoast backpacking adventure. The diner is pretty small and plain. The only thing that stands out is the feeling that everyone else in the diner seems to be a "regular". I ordered A western omelet and biscuits with sausage gravy. I zoned out for a bit but turn around definitely had to be less than 7 minutes. Something i must've missed on the new menu (not the same as the one pictured, seems a lot simpler now) was that the western is smother in sausage gravy. So, i had 2 items in the same sauce. This is only the 2nd or 3rd time i have biscuits and gravy but it has been the best so far. Even though the omelet was smothered in sauce, it was still really good. Even though both of the servers were very welcoming, they seemed a little too happy. Could just be that i'm from a sad and angry part of florida though. Not sure how i'd feel if this was a regular thing in Miami... So, don't expect anything extraordinary. Love this place! One day while in Palm Beach working I was looking for a place where I could have a decent home cooked breakfast and that processed stuff like Dunkin or McDonald's. I happen upon this place and what can I say... it's a great place to get a meal. The front is run by two older ladies and they are very friendly and cordial. They're very observant too as one complimented me on the parking job I did outside with the SUV I was driving. I think once you walk in everyone's name becomes "honey". The menu is simple and the food is traditional breakfast stuff but it comes out fast, hot, and quick. The price is really reasonable too. You can get it to go or you can sit at the bar or table. Had I seen a description of brown gravy on the menu, I would've asked for white. The steak wasn't freshly tenderized and battered, probably frozen actually, but it wasn't bad.
