I have 2 Cane Corso's. One is trained in protection work and is with me almost everywhere I go on the daily. My other Corso was adopted from an abusive situation and has trust issues. NO WAY am I willing to leave these dogs in the care of a sitter or a family member as this would not be responsible not only to my dogs, but to the public as well. I first heard about Country Kennels from my trainer and later from a K9 handler from a local PD unit. I was THRILLED to learn that they have "hands off" options in high secured, indoor/outdoor kennel spaces available for high drive and working dogs that are not easily handled by strangers. For the first time in a few years, my husband and I were not only able to take a vacation, but we were able to go somewhere without having to load the dogs up and take them along. IT WAS SOOO NICE knowing Country Kennels was there to keep our animals safe and contained while we were away! This was about 3 years ago now and we have used them several times over the past few years with NO issues! Booking is super simple and prices are straightforward. You have options of kenneling your pets together in one run or putting them in separate runs, and they even have indoor spaces for the little ones, offering a hands on, more attentive approach. I'm able to load up my dogs diet, any medications, blankets or bedding, toys and snacks and drop them off at any desired time within operating hours. I recently chose Country Kennels to board my two dogs, and overall, I'm quite pleased with my experience. One of my two dogs can be kind of neurotic at times, and my previous experiences with Rover were not great, so I wanted to try a professional business this time. I had sent inquiries to two other kennels in the Seattle area, and didn't even get a call back from either of them. Country Kennels on the other hand had an easy online form, and I received an email confirmation from them by the next day (with a request that I forward them my dogs' vaccine records). There was nobody at the front desk when we got there, but I rang the doorbell and after a few minutes someone came to open the door (this is fine, I'd rather the caretakers be with the dogs than at the front desk anyways). On that note, I was never able to reach them on the phone immediately, but they always called back within the hour. The check-in process was simple, and the lady helping us was nice. She let me know they take daily photos during the various playtimes, and post them on Facebook about every other day. We were then given a quick tour of the kennels, and a large dog had escaped his pen! There were multiple doors between each of the dogs, so this probably was not a big deal, but it made me very nervous about leaving my dogs behind. It did not help that all the other dogs were barking a ton and the kennels had a strong smell, and my pups were sooo sad to be left behind. Fortunately, we were running late for our flight - the kennel is a little less than an hour from the airport - so I didn't have enough time to second guess my decision. Side note - I definitely recommend bringing your dog's bed! From the pictures posted online, I thought they provided raised beds, but I don't think that was the case. They do provide blankets and a lot of toys tho. I had mixed feelings about leaving my dogs at Country Kennels, but when I went to pick them up, I could instantly tell they had a good time. They were totally at ease and comfortable with the caretakers (which is saying a LOT for my older dog!). On top of that, they smelled great and were suuuper fluffy and soft! My older dog is very particular about being touched by strangers, so the fact that they were able to give him a bath means they had spent time getting him comfortable beforehand. The prices were also very reasonable - they charge between $32-36 per dog per day depending on size (there is a small discount for multiple dogs), and then offer $6 per playtime (10-15 min for one on one, and 1-2 hours for group playtimes). They also offer baths on pickup day (which I highly recommend since the kennels do kind of smell). Not including the tip, for two dogs it ended up being about $490 for 5 days of boarding and playtimes, including baths for each of them. TLDR: Country Kennels had its imperfections, but the genuine care and well-being of my dogs by the end of their stay won me over. I will definitely be considering them for future boarding needs! read more

The owner is onsite after business hours. I would like to see the dogs be able to play outside/interact with other dogs without an additional fee, but overall the pricing was reasonable. read more

Country kennels was an awesome place to put the pups while I was away on a family trip. What I like about this place is the dogs have their own space, it's not constant interaction with other dogs like so many boarding facilities are these days. You can purchase individual play time if they don't love group play, or you can have them play with the group if they do love it. They keep small dogs a little further away from big dogs, so it's not as stressful, which was a huge plus because I have a little guy. They post pictures online of the dogs during the playtime, which is super cool to look at while you are away on trips. I also called to check on my pups and they knew everything about them just off the top, which told me they were paying attention to my pups. The only reason I knocked off a star would be because I was sent home with so much food left over. When I dropped them off, I sent cans of wet food In case they were too stressed to eat their dry food. They used only one can of the wet food I sent, and lots of dry food was left over as well. This tells me that my dogs weren't eating and there was no attempt to try to get them to eat. Not necessarily their fault that my dogs weren't eating, I just hoped they would try with the wet food at least. Overall, a very good experience with these guys. If I could give zero stars I would! Please do not leave your pet here! I dropped my dog off for the weekend which I have dropped him off there more then once and my dog never came home like this! So when I got my 4 year old baby boy back he was showing signs of being neglected and abused by the staff or owner as she told me she was with my dog all weekend. First my baby was injured with having both pads ripped and not one time did they tell me about till I called and asked questions about it! When I got home I gave my dog fresh water which is one of those gallon waters that fill up after he drinks and he drank the whole thing which is a sign he never got water the whole time he was there! My dog was very scared and traumatized by something. He would not come out of his cage and when he did he was shaking and tail between his legs. My dog was not himself and did not eat for 48 hours after getting him home. The story's they told me there was not adding up and she tried to blame me for being a dog mom and asking them to not wash him with the shampoo as it's leaving his skin red and scabs, then when it becomes spring time and summer my baby has allergies to grass and environmental which is can be normal for any dogs to have. For her to say this is me complaining is not professional at all! This is being safe with my baby! This place is very unprofessional when asked questions they all say I don't know as if they do not work the dogs all weekend or do not pay attention to any of the dogs! Please do not take you pets there and if you notice something off with your pet please report them! Like I did for what they did to my baby! We boarded our boxer from March 27th to April 2nd while we went on a quick vacation. She could hardly walk, profusely liking her paws, panting, shaking and had diarrhea. We were unable to get her into her regular vet, so the very next morning we spent 6 hours at the Urgent Care Hospital. In-between all 4 paw pads & toes was blood red that presented like chemical burns. She most likely digested the chemicals while licking at them. The 1st gal I spoke to said they use No chemicals there, but would ask the other staff if they had noticed anything but according to her, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. The 2nd gal, the following day, stated that they use 253 and a bleach mixture to clean. Our disappointment is that we have always thought highly of this facility. Over $500 for the 1st trip to Urgent care and Friday will be another bill at her regular vet. Not one time have we received a call to see how she is doing, nothing offered as a means to help or anything! Would like to know if anyone else during that time, had Any issues with their pet. Unfortunately this review space doesn't allow for photos to be added, but I have several. I hate to say anything negative about this place, but I'm not feeling very positive at this point. read more

There is not enough to say about Country Kennels. I board my two pups here, Artemis (corgi) and Rider (Australian shepherd/blue healer mix). I have tried almost a dozen boarding places in the Bothell-Tacoma area and after finding these guys I will never try another. I'm always concerned about the treatment and understanding of my pups. Especially with my cattle dog. But since the first phone call I knew I could trust them. They know their breeds and their Doggo's and show them the compassion they deserve. Their rates can't be beat and every single staff member I've had the pleasure to meet has been happy, sentimental and leaves me feeling good about my pups stay. To top it all off, my pups typically hate going to boarding. Or when I pick them up they are whining and se very anxious. But every single time I have boarded with Country Kennels my pups have gone right back with them no problem and when I pick them up they are happy and excited. The car ride home is calm and when we get home there are 0 issues from the stay. It's obvious they are taken care of. I've boarded them now about 4 times I believe and have had to extend their stay last minute twice. The accommodations were made with no stress. Highly highly recommend Country Kennels to anybody with an animal. Especially if you have had bad luck with kennels before! read more

We have used a service like this before and did understand what we signed up for but...we were told to label everything we brought in and the bed and told it would be washed before we left. The owner handed me the bed saturated with urine. I opened it up and it was saturated! It is not a great way to end a first visit. It was so ripe I could not imagine having it in my vehicle or my dog even using it. Bath after is a must Visit walk through do a visit with your dog, I've learned not to leave out those steps. Two weeks ago I brought my dog in for a bath and hair cut, and while I was there I scheduled another appointment for him for just a bath, set for today 9/4/16. I show up for the appointment to find out that all grooming appointments had been cancelled due to an outbreak of kennel cough. However, they failed to contact me AT ALL about this via phone or email, then asked me if maybe I had gotten a voicemail and just ignored it. I'm not an idiot, and how dare you suggest that I am. If I had gotten a call from you, I definitely would have listened to it. But instead you said you had called everyone and cancelled their appointments without actually waiting for a response from your customers. You're all great at grooming but your customer service skills could use a little work. read more

Took Thor in for overnight boarding for the first time. Staff was exceptionally friendly and welcoming to Thor. Hailey provided updates in detail and I appreciate that. Let's talk about Country Kennels and how amazing the STAFF, GROOMERS, OWNER & FACILITY is. This was our first time leaving our fur babies at a boarding facility. I'm not gonna lie, my anxiety levels were flaring. I didn't know what to expect, how the process went & if I could even trust them (I'm a very paranoid dog mom). As we pulled up, the place was tucked away behind some trees & bushes, which I really liked. Very private, kind of like a dog retreat if I must say. The place is not hard to find either and only about 15 minutes from our home. My dogs were already getting at each other from the moment we walked through the door, but Hailey (I hope I'm spelling your name correctly) assured me that they will be in good hands (she didn't lie ) As I was waiting to check them in, another family came in to drop off their dog. I asked them about their experiences and they said that they would never leave their dog anywhere else. Which gave me hope. As they were preparing our dogs new home for the next 10 days, Hailey was nice enough to give me a little tour (very last minute) I do know they offer these tours before your pet stays with them but we never had the time to make it out. I was impressed. Very, very clean & it didn't smell bad either. I immediately felt a whole lot better. Country Kennels gave me peace of mind while on our trip. They daily photos they posted of our dogs helped a lot too. At first I opted out of the bath and nail trim...but I'm glad I changed my mind. I had strict instructions on my two dogs, that I informed them I could not stress enough. My one dog had to wear an e-collar at all times. That didn't happen! I came back, and his leg was tore open. The one tech tried to tell me she had it off for less than a minute. Then I found out another one had it off. Additionally he was 10 pounds lighter and the other one was 10 pounds heavier. For the next 10 days he hardly ate anything, and died. No they didn't kill him, but it added to the other issues he had, this experience did not help his health, or my other dog that now has to be a on diet. read more

Recently left my dog with Country Kennels for 2 weeks due to my family and I going on vacation. Our dog requires a lot of attention. He has various food & nature allergies, over heats easily, a picky eater and wasn't socialized much as puppy. He hasn't spent much time around other dogs, so he has a tendency to get over stimulated or hyper. With all of that being said we had a lot of anxiety leaving him. We gave them A LOT of instructions on caring for him and they were extremely accommodating. We emailed and called them multiple times while we were away. We inquired about boarding and scheduled, but did not go through with our plans at the last minute. I called to notify them that we were not coming in and they were courteous about the situation. When we went to tour the facility, the owner Jacklyn was so nice and thoughtful. She made me feel like my pup would be well taken care of, and reassured me they will accommodate him accordingly if he felt uncomfortable and would take him out for extra play time. She also offered us a free night stay to see if our pup would be okay with being boarded since he has never left our side before. The grounds were clean. No funky smells or dog messes throughout the areas. Roomy kennel with own dog run.The facility is tucked back in away from the road and is in a nice, forest-y area with trees all around. We take our dog here regularly for boarding and she likes it very much. This location is out in Parkland, set out towards old farm land, so it is spacious. Each dog has a an outdoor run that is completely covered. Bring your pup's own bedding and food. Prices are comparable to other services in the area, about $18 to 20 dependng on the size of your dog. For a little extra ($5 per day), they will give your dog a little one on one time in the play yard. Our dog is a rescue and she can have a fear of people, especially men. Going to the groomer, vet or other boarders has been a problem in the past...but she is as good as gold here. The staff is really well chosen, and the woman that lives on site has a real affinity for the animals. You can get your pooch pampered while they're here...baths and nail clipping, only $25 for both!! They do a great job with our shy girl. Also great: they have CAT BOARDING!! We are owned by a breed that is considered a "hands off" breed as they are very protective of us and aren't friendly to strangers. We have two and both weigh about 130lbs. Anyway, while researching a kennel to board them while we had family visiting for the Thanksgiving holiday, we were referred to Country Kennel by a friend. We have owned this specific breed for about 10 years and had never boarded them because of their temperment, so I was a bit hesitant to say the least. We talked to the staff about the dogs and the breed and they were comfortable in giving it a try. So we dropped them off for an overnighter to test the waters. Everything went great, so we decided to board them again over the Thanksgiving holiday. They were there for 2 weeks and not one issue. We brought them home today and they look great, tired/sleepy, but great. Needless to say, we are excited to have found a place that can handle boarding our dogs when we need a "break". I used Country Kennels for boarding my pom. I have officially found my new boarding place for my pup! When you walk in, the lobby is very clean and organized. The girl working the front when I dropped him off was so friendly and she loves pom! Which is nice because they can be quite temperamental. I was worried about Richie (my pom) because I think he has some separation anxiety and he shakes when I leave him places! The girl in the front made me feel so comfortable that I knew he'd be in good hands. I picked Richie up the next day and they told me he did very well there. He didn't bark much (surprising) and he played nicely with the caretakers. You can choose whether or not you want your dog interacting with other dogs. If you choose not to, it's 5 dollars extra for caretakers to spend one on one time with your pet. It's worth it though since mine is nippy! Overall, my pup did great and I'll be back with him in July when I go to Mexico! read more

I found country kennel through yelp. I was looking for an affordable grooming place for my soft-coat wheaton terrier. We went from grooming at pet smart to hairy's grooming. Pet smart was ok but because of them hitting other dogs, I stopped taking him there. And hairys, we'll there price was low and then went up!! Also cuts were not the best. So! After all the amazing reviews from yelp on country kennel, I decided to give it a try :) it was the best decision! They close at noon on Sundays but the last I belive is the Manger, I spoke with her know Saturday and she was able to have us in on Sunday late noon after closing hours. That's customer service!! She did an amazing job cutting my wheaton terriers fur, my baby came out with a wagging tail! He even ran up to one of the workers to say hi! We have used the grooming services several times and we have been extremely satisfied with the outcome. We have a Australian Shepherd who gets summer haircuts to help with the heat. Definitely not bringing my cat back here. I chose this place because I liked how the kitties get playtime with others, but I had a back checkout experience that made me not want to return. First, they brought me back the wrong toys then asked me to describe his toys when I said something. They then brought out the bed I left him with... it was destroyed. It was a nice wool cave bed & they apparently put it in the washer & dryer which shrunk and deformed it so it is now trash. They also washed one of his electronic toys. They didn't mention at any point needing to wash his items bc if I had known I would have brought different items and asked them not to wash his bed. They simply gave me the ruined items & did not apologize at all. Also, the person who checked me out did not work in the cat section so was unable to tell me anything about how it went for my cat. I left feeling like they didn't care at all so I will be finding a new boarding service for him. read more

We loved boarding our dogs at Country Kennels. We found them on a referral from a friend and haven't looked back. One of our dogs is completely deaf and we were concerned about how she would react and how the interactions would be. Everything was smooth. Our dogs were happy, healthy and clean. The tour of the facility was clean, and all our questions were answered thoroughly and never once did I feel like "that pet owner". A staff member also lives on property which reassured us the animals were never truly alone. I also appreciated seeing pictures of my dogs on their Facebook page while we were gone. I have taken all my dogs to Cairjac since the early 90's with a lull when I didn't need to board the beasts. Just to let YELP know, they are not closed. They reopened. This place is absolutely the best !!! The staff is awesome and they are great "Dog People". The facilities are superb: comfy, clean, and well kept. The staff pampers and plays with "The Kids" so nicely. "The Kids" are 4 rascally min-pins .... When I come to pick up "The Kids" they go crazy over me, BUT !!! They Refuse To Leave !!!! They stand in the front door and just stare at me as I go to the car ! "Nice to see you Dad, but We Are Staying Here !!! " They absolutely love it at Country Kennels ! AND, when I pick them up, the staff has usually just freshly laundered and folded all of their Blankies and bedding. ALSO, Country Kennels is convenient to the I-5 on the way to SeaTac airport.
