Metal chairs and wooden booth/bench that lines the front and side of the restaurant. Pillows are spread across the booth/bench for those needing a little back support. We were seated quickly and our waitress addressed us promptly, which is much appreciated. I ordered the nonalcoholic blackberry mojito. It took all of my might not to drink it all at once. So refreshing, not overly sweet. We ordered the Brussel sprouts appetizer, which appeared faster than we had expected. Yummy I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with the fried chicken. He ordered the burger. Fettuccine light but with excellent flavor, the fried chicken was moist and not over coated. The burger was oozing with beef juices. Although his mashed potatoes were a bit dry, the gravy was very tasty. I'd say the atmosphere is casual, but not shorts and tank casual. Definitely not business casual or dressy. The staff were all so kind and checked in on us and attended to our needs when requested. Go in and check it out for yourself, you won't regret it. It's a great place but one drawback is the inside dining seating isn't comfortable for "lazy" dining (as you don't want to sit on the seats long)

The staff is knowledgeable, and it's refreshing to see a restaurant that cares about where its food comes from. Unfortunately, that attention to ingredient sourcing seems to stop when it comes to cooking oils. Many of the menu items are prepared with soybean oil, which was disappointing given the otherwise high-quality and health-conscious image of the restaurant. Soybean oil is highly processed and contains large amounts of omega-6 polyunsaturated fats. While omega-6 fats are essential in moderation, excessive consumption relative to omega-3 intake has been associated with increased inflammation in some research. Soybean oil is also more susceptible to oxidation when exposed to high cooking temperatures, potentially producing compounds that some studies suggest may contribute to oxidative stress. In addition, many health-conscious consumers actively avoid industrial seed oils such as soybean, corn, and canola oils in favor of alternatives like olive oil, avocado oil, butter, or tallow. I would gladly give Marinade on Main a higher rating if they aligned their cooking oils with the same local, high-quality standards they apply to the rest of their ingredients. Today's was really not palatable. You can tell it was overworked and not cooked properly. You could still taste raw flour. It stuck to the plate it was on; that's how poorly cooked it was. On the happy side, we had great breakfasts. I ordered something different today, their Au Gratin omelette. It tasted great, but did not taste anything like Au Gratin potatoes. I would order it again. We also had chicken-fried steak with gravy and a chorizo scramble. Both were tasty and super filling. I understand their cinnamon rolls are out of this world. Since I rarely eat sweet things, I have yet to take a bite. Hoping next time I go out with friends, someone orders one. There is outdoor seating, and the establishment is dog-friendly. Dirty Confetti sets up on the patio and plays country while everyone settles in with something cold to drink and something good to eat. No big production. No velvet ropes. I went with the steak sandwich--tender steak, grilled onions, greens, sauce, good bread, and a pile of seasoned potatoes on the side. Nothing precious about it. Just a damn good sandwich. Delicious Food, But Slow Service Our visit to Kountry Kitchen was a mix of highs and lows. We went on Father's Day, which might explain some of the issues we encountered. First, the positives: the food was hot and delicious. I ordered the French toast and crispy bacon, which were both perfect. My husband had a spinach omelet and was equally satisfied. Our son ordered the California burrito, and it was huge! However, our daughter ordered avocado toast, and it was a bit disappointing. It was just toast with avocado smeared on it, exactly as stated on the menu, but nothing fancy or creatively presented. My husband had a field day teasing her about it for 30 minutes. Now, the not-so-great parts: it took an hour for our food to arrive. When we entered, we had to wait a moment for a table to be cleaned, but there was never a line of people waiting to be seated. As we dined, the restaurant actually slowed down with more people leaving than arriving. The young ladies at the front were busy cleaning tables, taking payments, and seating new guests, but it didn't seem particularly hectic. Our server checked on us once for a coffee refill, and another staff member refilled our son's water, but no one mentioned the long wait for our food or apologized for it. It would have been nice to know if the kitchen was backed up or understaffed, especially given the holiday. Overall, while the food was great, the slow service and lack of communication about the wait were disappointing. I hope this was just an off day, and we'll consider giving Kountry Kitchen another try in the future. read more

Outstanding Food, Flawless Service, and Real Pride of Ownership I had a fantastic experience at Country Kitchen Ramona. From the moment I sat down, the service was attentive without ever feeling intrusive--my iced tea was refilled automatically without me even needing to ask. I particularly appreciated that the server asked before bringing out straws or lemon slices. It's a thoughtful touch that saves table space, cuts down on waste, and shows a business that pays attention to the details. The food was spot-on. I ordered the breakfast burrito, and it was exceptional. It had a nice, subtle crunch from being lightly toasted, the hash browns inside stayed perfectly crispy, and the eggs were cooked to perfection. You could tell every component was prepared with care. What really stands out about Country Kitchen Ramona, though, is the commitment to high standards. On a previous visit, I noticed a few minor issues like flies near the windows, but checking this time, the improvement was obvious--the dining area was spotless. It is most enjoyable to breakfast, lunch or dine at this restaurant. Everything has that home cooked---not a chain restaurant--- taste. Simply delicious. The service is courteous, helpful, the atmosphere friendly and fun. The portions or more than adequate. They don't skimp, even in details. For example, tea---the hot water is not a tiny pitcher and 1 bag: rather, they leave the container of tea choices on the table and give you a pot of hot water equal to 4-5 cups in other places. Also, whip cream for your pie? It is not the token dollop common in many places, it is another thick layer!!! Most enjoyable place to gather with family and friends.... or with a good book! To Ben W.- I have a very tough time even believing anyone in that restaurant is racist! Waiting an hour to get recognized, sorry but anyone in their right mind would have walked out after 15 or 20 minutes. I have at other establishments down the hill. As for waiting an hour for your food, yes I can believe that. I know some weekends it can be that long. But I enjoy sitting and talking with my loved ones and friends. The food is good, the waitstaff is very friendly to everyone, even to those that are not friendly back to them. I eat here at least 3 times a week. I grew up in this town and now my children are raising their children here. read more

This place is GREAT! I come here frequently, service is always good and people are nice. Food is exactly what you'd expect at a place like this, good portions at a good price. Service is always top notch except on the weekend breakfast rush, but that is only due to the sheer load of people there! Which serves to show off its popularity with the church and "down the hill" crowds, as well as the usual ones from Ramona. Negative reviews? I doubt they need much attention since the reviews themselves were rude! All in all, go in expecting what it is, not a Sir Winstons type of place. read more

We were looking for non-meat options (not a whole lot of choices, but what we found we liked) but I will say that the club sandwich someone with us got looked AMAZING! Food was so good (burger and grilled chese with brisket.) And even though it's in the podunk Santa Ysabel, there are other things (pie, bread) at the same intersection so you can get a lot done. I'd like to also call out the fries. I have an unhealthy obsession and visceral reaction to bad fries, but Farmhouse 78 hits it out of the park with their fries. It defies logic that other sit-down places will meticulously prepare quality, fresh food, then slap frozen Ore-Idas down on the plate. Farmhouse 78 does not do that. Fresh cut potatoes fried in beef tallow. Doesn't get any better than that. I'd add a sixth star just for the fries if I could. I plowed through them before I even touched the sandwich.
