Breakfast burrito bursting with eggs and filling
    Mel Y.

Hearty breakfast and lunch fare in a casual environment and says they use better ingredients than other places (definitely a step up than a typical diner). Come hungry! The menu is a good size with one side for breakfast (eggs, omelets, French toast, pancakes and Waffles) and another for lunch (wraps, sandwiches, soups, entrees). I enjoyed the breakfast burrito ($15) which was generously filled with eggs, avocado, cheese, onions, peppers and sausage; it had the most eggs I've ever had it in a burrito. The accompanying salad was well dressed and fresh, and the potatoes and peppers were also done well. The simple two egg dish with salad, toast and potatoes were also well prepared, though 3 sausage links on the side for $6 seemed a bit steep! Service was pretty good. I didn't mind that the food took longer than a typical diner because the food was better. [[HIGHLIGHT]]For the concept of the place, I would have wanted a more homey interior that welcomed you in. It's a bit loud and very blue, with colorful artwork on the walls, not what I was expecting![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] One hour street parking on that street or find a side street. Nearby are many Korean spots, Daniela's for ice cream, bakeries, etc. on the main strip in Closter.

This was my first visit to the MKT Diner and it was enjoyable. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I really enjoyed the building's exterior color choice, the diner is kept clean, and the interior wall art was impressive.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server, Roni, did a fabulous job throughout our visit and I appreciated her attention to detail. My Closter Omelet was amazing. The potatoes were delicious and so perfectly salted that I almost ordered a side of those delicious taters. The Blueberry Pancakes were just as good, the fruit accompaniment was much appreciated, and complemented the pancakes. MKT Diner is highly recommended and I hope that you'll enjoy your visit, soon.

We have been wanting to try Country MKT Diner for a while. We heard great things about the food, and it did not disappoint. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Upon entering, there is a modern diner feel. It is an open and clean space, which is nice because some diners make you feel like you are right on top of the neighboring tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff is very friendly and attentive, though there were a few mistakes with our order. The server forgot to put in our appetizer, and made some excuses when I asked about it, but ended up taking it off our bill. She also did not put in the correct dressing order for my wife's salad, but my wife decided not to ask for it to be fixed, and enjoyed the salad as it came. The food selections are amazing, with breakfast available all day, but they have lunch and dinner options as well. The food quality was great. Everything was clearly cooked to order and made with fresh ingredients. I loved my tuna melt, and the fries were top notch. The server offered us a free dessert due to the couple of mix ups, but we were so full from the wonderful meal that we had to politely decline. We will definitely be adding Country MKT Diner to our list of regular haunts.

This time we had Steak frites and Steak salad. Started with chicken soup. Food was tasty, fresh and great presentation as always. Special thank you to our host Laura M. She was wonderful! Very perky yet attentive and nice. We had a great brunch here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The pace is spotless and vibrant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

The food was so fresh and delicious and the service was great! We came here at 8AM on a Friday and it was empty. (Only small issue was that I asked if they had bagels and they said yes and brought out bread!) besides that, everything was amazing! Cant wait to go back! Love that they have a small parking lot as well.

I went during their soft opening and it was pretty busy! I ordered gluten free chicken cutlet that was sooo delicious and I can't tell you the last time I said that about a chicken cutlet....... I ate every last bite. I plan to go back soon. I think it's a great addition to Closter restaurants and it's well worth a visit!

I am sorry Corey, two strikes and you're out. I was there for lunch around the time you first opened and ordered chicken cutlet. After waiting a bit longer than I expected I asked for a status on my meal and the waiter said the kitchen had to make new cutlets and it would be just a bit longer. OK, fine. The food comes out and everything served was tepid temperature at best and the meat was dry. I may not be a chef or even a short order cook but I know what a freshly fried chicken cutlet looks and tastes like. I don't like being misled but as the diner was crowded I let it go as the kitchen having a bad day. Fast forward to this morning, we decide to give Country MKT Diner another try for breakfast. Over EASY eggs, bacon and French fries. Food comes out tepid again!! (and I'm being generous in my temperature assessment), fries were burnt and the eggs were well done. I am a reasonable guy but at this time we were the only ones in the restaurant, why can't you guys serve a hot meal?? I ask the waitress to send it back and a few minutes later I get "better" eggs (over medium instead of well done but still not over easy), the fries looked and tasted like they were put back in the fryer instead of a fresh batch made. It was a struggle to eat but I ate half so I would feel like I totally wasted $18.00. On a positive note, your waitress (Jennifer) was an absolute doll! Empathetic, apologetic and epitomizes customer service. I thanked her for the great service but told her we will never come back.

Chicken & Waffle (it's too good and forgot to take full dish)

My family like this diner. All food is good for value. We forgotten take pictures every visit. Share this one hope it's help. Egg Benedict also my favorite.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Went for a late Sunday brunch and hit the lull around 1:30pm, which was perfect.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waiter was attentive and management was very friendly. The menu is large with lots of options, including vegan. The food was fresh and well prepared. We enjoyed our plates with hot coffee refills. We'll be back to try other options beside breakfast.

Wonderful breakfast and lunch spot! Recently I came here and i was so impressed. To start with, our server was so nice and friendly, the food came out very quickly. The food tastes fresh and you can tell it was made with love. Everything tastes fresh and healthy, I love a quality restaurant. Definitely will be back!!

What other diner's gonna hit ya with a Tuscanesque patio to enjoy your bruncheon, luncheon or dinner? As the competition grows in the diner game, no longer can you just serve the basics well. Can you Benny? Can you create? Can you... innovate? ~ Innovation. Unfortunately, at an all time high yet at an all time halt for most of us. High quantity but in isolation. As I personally explored the electromagnetic waves that built up my now educationally legally binding master of a mind, I traversed into the igloo known as innovation. Detached yet still insulated, the modern man wants to but can't. The days of novelty have escaped us. With the AI introduction and the false sense of monetary province - the true creatives will be too distracted and cautious. The fools will fool the smarts. Smarts are too stupid to succeed, especially today. Unfortunately my humble and controversial upbringing led me to weigh my risks with safety more than others. My parents, whom were both wolves (as some of you know), were much smarter than humans. They chained me up, but they argued it was for my own good. I didn't understand it at first, but of course, as always, the "big bad wolves" were right. Shoutout Alexander T. Wolf. Painted a villain, but just needed some amoxicillin. ~ Anyways, Northvale is pure class. Once upon a time on a 100 degree day I pulled out the sticks with a few of the lads and rip some golf stick ball at some subpar course nearby (being kind). They had run out of carts. We walked. Undergarments a swampin', backs bombed with sweat, bodies drenched with stench. Calories over multiple of thousands burned, as said my smart watch. We followed it up with Three Boys, Northvale Classic and DQ. What a day. What a trio. More recently, I've introduced this institution to some unsophisticated New Yorkers and Connecticutians who know not a thing about real diners. Of course, their minds have been blown. Short rib grilled cheese? Chicken Sicilian Sandwich? Paninis? Dozens of deluxe burgers? And all done legitimately well? Yesssssir. Their Benny game is stronggggg... crab cake and short rib are show stoppers. Listen here you Linguini loyals, you cannot go wrong here. Pancakes. French toast. Omelettes. Tacos...Don't wanna be right? Too bad, you're still gonna be right. Don't get so caught up in your layers, onion boy. Sometimes you gotta self peel - show me what you got BJ Raji. Skip me with the discount and hit me with the double check, money doesn't maketh the man. Broke, obliging, and eternally happy... I do so appreciate a classic in Bergen - LB

Had an early Valentine's Day dinner with the wife the day before Valentine's Day. Brasserie Memere…read moreis an upscale French restaurant located in the Target plaza of Closter. The lighting is dim, the ambiance is intimate, and it looks romantic. I had made reservations so we were seated immediately. It's funny to note that the place settings were placed next to each other instead of across from each other at a four person table. We usually prefer to face each other, but when it's Valentine's day why not be cute? We ordered a few drinks during our dinner, the Sugar Plum Fairy, Memere 75, Avion en papier. My favorite was definitely the Avion en papier which had a slightly sweet, slightly bitter, citrusy taste. They had a pre fixe menu for Valentine's Day which unfortunately did not have the steak tartare i was interested in trying. But for $88, you get 3 courses: an appetizer, entree, and dessert. For our appetizers, we got the TARTARE DE THON (tuna tartare) and COCKTAIL DE CREVETTES GEANTES (shirmp cocktail). Between the two, i preferred the tuna tartare. The shrimp cocktail was good, but the only thing really special about it was the massive size of the shrimp and the freshly grated horseradish in the cocktail sauce. For our entrees, we got the CASSOULET DE CANARD and FILET MIGNON. The extremely tender duck leg confit was served with pancetta, white beans, toulouse sausage, and foie gras breadcrumb. It was rich, savory, fatty, and filling. All great words to describe food. The duck leg confit reminded me a little bit of a smoked turkey leg with the red coloring and shreddable texture. The filet mignon was served with pomme purée, wild mushrooms, and a bordelaise sauce. The filet was cooked medium rare as requested, but a bit under salted. The pomme purée aka mashed potatoes tasted like it was 50% butter so it was obviously delicious. Dessert was good, but my least favorite part of the meal. We got the TAHITIAN VANILLA CRÈME BRÛLÉE and the VALRHONA CHOCOLAT POT AU CRÈME. Both were very sweet. The brûlée crust did not shatter well, but it otherwise had a nice creamy texture. The chocolate pot was covered in flaky feuilletine which gave a nice contrast to the creamy chocolate, but my wife found the brandied cherries overpowering. The cherries made me think of German chocolate cake. Service was excellent. Staff was quick to refill water and checked on us constantly. Pace of the meal was relaxed and I'd even say they were slow to bring us the check since we had been dining for over 2 hours. My wife wants me to bring her back for their bottomless brunch on a Sunday so I will eventually be back.

We were a pretty big group and everything still came out smoothly and nobody ever felt forgotten which I appreciated. We started with oysters and they were fresh and really good. Definitely one of the better things we ordered. The fried calamari was okay but not something I would specifically come back for. The Caesar salad was actually really good and I liked that it had anchovies in it because a lot of places skip that now. I ordered the lobster roll and thought it was the perfect lunch portion. Enough food without feeling too heavy after. Other people at the table ordered burgers, steaks, and pizzas and everyone seemed happy with their meals. The pizzas especially went fast.
