I was driving through and stopped here for breakfast. I ordered the "Philly Cheese Steak Omelette." The eggs were fluffy and there was plenty of filling which are all good things. I also had a side of sausage patties. The sausage tasted fine but was a sort of whitish color. The coffee was just okay but I am really picky about coffee. The server was very nice and friendly. My biggest gripe is that for a truck stop type of restaurant, the service was really slow. At this sort of place, you like to be in and out quickly. I was by myself and it took over an hour to get in and out. It really needs to be faster than that. The bottom line is that the food and service were okay but not great. This place is a joke. Soup is cold, salad bar is full of dried out salads and veggies. Finally my main course: I order the fish basket. Supposed to be 3 pieces of fish and fries. The food is good and what other options do you have in Barkeyville... theres a burger king and arbys... people are ridiculous. Location...Russell, Ms. Exit 160 on I-20/I-59 E We have stopped at this location several times in the past. We always got there at opening time..6 a.m. Once we had to wait a few minutes. Today, we arrived at 6:30 a.m., and the doors were locked. Couldn't see any moment inside to indicate they were late getting ready to open. My husband went into the store next to the restaurant. The clerk said he didn't know....he thought maybe employees were there just running late, but he knew that the assistant manager had not yet arrived. Beyond this location heading east there is not much to choose from to eat breakfast. We finally ended up eating at Burger King in Livingston, Alabama about 20 miles or so from the TA Country Pride location. You have lost a customer. read more

Nice and fresh salad bar with lots of good healthy choices. Also fresh hot soup. I had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and white gravy. Breading on the steak was much too salty but luckily the potatoes and gravy were not so it kind of balanced out. The meal came with the soup and salad bar. Hubby had the black bean soup and a flatbread with sauce and veggies that was a good size and again nice and fresh. We stopped for lunch so don't know about breakfast or dinner. Service was absolutely horrible. E wre traveling and stopped to eat. Our meal was held up because the cook had to go get onion rings from the freezer and they were stuck together and soggy. Waited 12 minutes for coffee. Our server was incompetent on so many levels. Never got condiments I asked for our my soup. The burgers were dry and so cold the cheese wouldn't melt. Although the food was good at the Bloomsburg, Pa restaurant, our waitress Anna was quite rude. We overheard her speaking with other staff about management and complaining about tip amounts. Completely unprofessional and not necessary. She also help up the receipt to show another coworker the amount of the tip. She neglected to bring another drink to us when she was asked and then acted like we should have been grateful she even brought the drink when she was reminded. No big deal but her demeanor and actions probably warranted the tip she was complaining about. Felt like we were a "burden" when all we asked for was 1 more iced tea. This grilled chicken was very well made. Moist, juicy, and not stringy overcooked line most others. The home fries were a bit dry so I inverted my eggs on them and let the yoke moisten them. Ate here last night and breakfast this morning. Last night: order the spaghetti elbows w meat/sauce, can't remember how to spell the name goulash or something, came to my table cold, not the cold for being out too long, cold as in they didn't microwave long enough, yes, it taste it like microwave reheat, not even fresh, it was bad. This is by far one of the worst Country Pride restaurants in the chain. This is my third time eating here, and my third awful meal. Tonight I ordered the ham steak dinner - and got the ham steak breakfast. Both ham steaks were burned, and the eggs and hash browns looked fine - but tasted equally burnt and greasy. The service was terrible. I would avoid Barkeyville at all costs and, if headed east, press on to Brookville. The TA Travel Center there is excellent. read more

This place is an absolute mess! I came in once about 3 weeks ago, I should of known right than and there not to come back! But I also came back on July 4th! The first time I was there a few weeks ago the server was completely rude to me and treated me like I was just another face! Not only that but the cook in the back was hootin and hollering i could hear him from out at the front gate! Than I went against my better judgement and wanted to come back because I was passing by on the 4th of July! I walk inside around 7pm just to find out that for whatever reason the restaurant was closed! The hours I looked up online said they were open on the 4th! Don't eat the fish here. I tried the fish on Friday and it tasted strange I came to find out that this place serves Swai fish on place of Tipalli or cod. Swai fish is a catfish grown in Vietnam. The reason why i say this is because the waitress on duty that night was very nice. She provided good service and made you feel welcomed.
