We've been enjoying Country Squire for many, many years. One of the last surviving "corner store" eateries that always delivers what you wanted. Over the years of the dozens and dozens of orders for both 4 piece dinners and perch boxes, we have never once been disappointed or had a 'less-than' experience. I'm 70 and there's is not much left of the America I grew up in. Country Squire remains consistent and appreciated. As the large chains have fallen in both quality and service, these folks have not. As my 86 year old, Arkansas grandma would say "This is some of the best chicken I've had in a long while, and those rolls are so soft". I picked up an 8 piece country squire meal, a pint of mac 'n cheese along with coleslaw and a few rolls for $21. This is definitely the sort of chicken joint where you pop in and order the chicken and take it home, no tables as it's not a sit down restaurant! I do wish they had the option for a spicy batter chicken like Popeyes has, but the taste was still spot on! read more

The best fried chicken in the area. Even the smell makes you want to drive in. Could eat it every day.

This chicken is pretty moist, but definitely needs bbq sauce. The venue is small, but they manage their space well. I usually get the same lady on register and she doesn't ever really smile. She is just doing her job. It's nice to have a smile when you are spending your money there. The chicken is good and the roll goes great with it. i sat i their parking lot after ordering for 65 minutes after being told 40-45 minutes when I ordered. I tried to call back in, as you are not allowed to enter their lobby, but only got an answering machine with a message saying they were closed due to a lack of employees. When we want juicy, crispy chicken, this is our go to place. The chicken breast are very large, and delicious. Sometimes they will give us an extra breast if they think they are too small. If you've never had broasted chicken you must try it! All of their meat choices including perch, shrimp and pork chops are cooked in a huge pressure cooker. The result is a wonderful crispy coating on the outside and tender juicy meat on the inside. They have a variety of sides to choose from to complete your meal. This is take out only, but this beats fried chicken any where else. The wait usually isn't any more than 20 minutes. If you are passing through Kokomo and get hungry for fried chicken this is the place to go! read more

This is the best chicken ever! We were traveling thru Kokomo on our way to Indy to tailgate. Found this place on line , called that morning and ask for a 2:00 pick up and he said no problem. We were 9 min early and had the nicest convo with the gals working, and sure enough in 9 min the chicken was boxed and ready to go. It was the biggest hit at the tailgate party not one piece left! Highly recommend this carry out establishment, if I could I would give it 20 stars! And the staff is so friendly and helpful. We live an hour away , wish it was closer!! read more

Best chicken you'll ever eat. Best if you call ahead, but if you have to wait it's well worth it.

Well after spending quite a bit of money there, you'd think they have friendly service. After getting home from buying my meal (cause there is no dining there) we noticed we were a meal short. It was a pork chop snack and the chop we did get was flimsy and not at all crispy, more like slimy! So, after calling back to ask them about the missing meal, I was stuck talking to the young girl (around 12-13 years old) that answered the phone, and she said they would only replace the missing portion and not replace the cold nasty chop that would be even colder and nastier once I got back home. When I said that was unacceptable, she handed the phone to the manager, (I could hear her say some rude things in the background that I will not mention here) and the manager said she would not replace the chop only the potatoes, slaw, and roll, and then hung up on me! Needless to say, after being hung up on, I was very upset, my wife went to get the missing portion instead of me. It was not a good experience! I did reheat the chop to go with my meal, my wife and kids ate their reheated meals, I ate my rubber chop and bit my tongue the rest of the night! So if your going there, check your bag before leaving (epic fail on my part), and if you have a problem be ready for no resolution. They DO NOT have friendly service if they've done something wrong!
