I gave Countryside another try. The last time I'll come here. Ordered a pizza came to pick it up. Bartender said he was busy and order wasn't ready. We asked for the manager. Some rude man approached us said he was "an owner" and told us "look around it's obvious we are busy!" Who talks to paying customers that way? This is a classic sports bar with indoor and outdoor options. They have great specials. They serve excellent food and drinks along with fantastic servers. Great hiring done here. DESPAIR IN DES PLAINES I've never left a Yelp review in my life but I was so frustrated after ordering from this place that I had to leave one. This review is in regard to their carry out order. First, they told us half of our order (3 orders of wings and 1 chicken tenders) got accidentally cancelled and that we had to wait ~5 minutes so they could make them fresh. That was no big deal at all. But when we got back home (~7 minutes away) everything was cold. There was no way they made those wings and chicken tenders fresh. Even the pizza was cold and tasted like it had been sitting out for 30-45 minutes. I was embarrassed because I had friends who flew in to visit. I feel like the pizza would've been halfway decent if it was hot and fresh but in the words of Kanye West, I guess we'll never know. I will never order or go back to this place. read more

I returned to Countryside last night fortunately we had a great waitress but what made the experience unpleasant was there was a couple sitting at a table adjacent to the bar that were very loud, swearing using the F word, she was shouting at her husband shut up shut up. This went on for a half of an hour until they finished their beers and left. Everyone in the bar area and part of the dining area could hear them, why wasn't countryside's management acting to stop the profanity and yelling? Afterwards one of the staff walked over to us and asked us if we were bothered by the couple, I said absolutely! if the staff was aware of it why didn't one of them stop it? The week before there was a guy sitting at the bar that was swearing loudly, the f bomb, no one did anything to stop him that night either. Countryside is a nice gathering place for everyone women children etc, why wouldn't they put an end to this offensive by their patrons? They reserve the right to not serve if they wanted to. I've been here several times with friends that love the Wednesday pizza deal. I'm not a big pizza eater, so I've ordered other items on the menu. The fried chicken is mediocre. Recently, I ordered the Cobb salad. Presentation was awful, looked like something a teen ager threw together. The taste was just ok. Avocado beyone it's prime, bacon bits from a can, iceberg lettuce -- over priced for what it was. At first we were unsure if we should try this restaurant, I mean the star count wasn't too high, but we'd been traveling all day and had to get something to eat. We ordered an Order of cheese fries that came out quickly, hot and yummy. Let me start by saying this first, we've been recommended this place by a number of friends previously. Big Game Sunday, found our usual pizza place closed. Called my neighbor and they recommended Countryside. Since it wasn't the first time reocommeded, we gave it a shot. Called around 3pm for a 4:30pm pick up. 18" pizza to go. Got there 4:22pm, saw cashier almost right away, took about 5-10 minutes for food to come out. Got home (live MAYBE 5 minutes away) and highly dissapointed. Pizza was luke warm at best, and extremely dry. Almost as if there was no sauce on it. Just pizza and cheese. Just did not taste good at all. After so many praises, fell enourmously short. Wanted to like it but won't ever be back. Not for $32. Should have gone to Lil' Caeser or Dominos and would have had better shot at tasty warmer pizza. Can't recommend based on this experience. read more

This was a very odd experience. From the reviews this seemed to be a good choice. Ambiance was nice. Ordered artichoke appetizer. Entree- tuna steak rare Entree 2-turkey burger Salad came out, out of nowhere. My boyfriend was confused as we didn't know, there was a salad ordered. We were told it came with the entrée and it had ranch dressing which we weren't asked what kind of dressing.. No silverware given so we waited about 10 minutes before anybody walked by so we could get silverware . Server came by and asked if she could take the salad away and we told her we had no silverware.... We asked about the appetizer and she said that the food was coming out soon, but we asked her if you were going to get the appetizer first ... Well, it all came out at the same time . No salt and pepper on table. No condiments offered. Tuna over cooked. Turkey burger was burnt. Felt rushed to take dishes away whenever someone walked by. I really like this place. I returned to grab lunch. The bar is in the middle room and then there's one room on each side. The one side was completely crowded so I went to the other side. Only one couple in there. I sat down. Tina brought me my menus. Did not offer me water or a drink. I stay up there quite a while and she didn't come back. I kept waiting because I like this place. Then a table of three came in and they sent behind me. She immediately went up to them, started talking ask them what they wanted to drink, and if they knew what they wanted to eat. Walked right past me again went to another table of four that had just walked In and was going to get them something to drink and take their order. When she walked away, I got up and left. What kind of service is that? Last time that I had gone, we had gotten Unique to wait on us. Our visit was a delight and the food was good. Not this time. So I decided to go with my mother for dinner and ended up having the fish fry. Normally we have the fried chicken which is really good however, the fish fry was less than desirable. The fish was frozen and then fried which made it dry and stringy, and the breading was so greasy it was barely edible. This was a huge disappointment and unfortunately we will not be going back. Response to below- yes both my mother and I told our server we were not happy with the meal she asked us if we wanted another meal - would you?? When meeting friends from the Park Ridge area, this is always a good choice. It's very casual, has a summer patio, decent food at fair prices. Service is friendly but be prepared to wait as some days there's one server for the entire restaurant. It's minutes from the expressway making it an easy drive. Today was my first time dining at this place. I've driven by it several times and saw that there were a lot of cars always parked outside. So, I thought I'd give it a chance. I came on a Friday between 330 and 4 PM. When I walked in, I was struck by all of the televisions with the sports events on them. I actually like this because I really wanted to watch the remainder of the Chicago Cubs game. The venue was pretty big and had a mixture of inside and outside seating. I was greeted by a hostess, who sat me pretty quickly in a place where I could watch the game. I ordered the fish fry. As I was waiting for my meal, I took time just to look around and observe the venue. My observation was that it seemed like the place was trying to be Hooters-lite. The women's staff were wearing very tight and short shorts and a few men that were there were wearing less revealing clothing. I'm not sure what this is about, but it was just an observation. Once my meal came, I found that the food was mediocre. The fish fry was slightly overcooked. A different waitress came up to me just to see how things were. But she was very cold and didn't seem really interested in whether I thought things were good or not. Now, I understand that you're going into a sports bar. You can't expect a whole lot. But I can tell you that I have had much better sports food. I may give this place one more chance. But I felt like the waitress with very dismissive and was just more interested in other tables. Probably because I was only a table of one. It was also really concerning to me that four or five staff for sitting at one table, just having some soda and talking while the rest of the people are working. The clientele also is not very diverse racially ethnically or otherwise. So, if that's your thing, this might be a good place to go. We came in from Tulsa with multiple 100 degree days in a row working on a farm and asked to sit inside. The hostess said this is just like inside and put us on the patio windows open. The service was ok. I did ask the manager for the bill since we sat there done . The fried chicken was on Sunday special and was excited. When it came I could see through the skinny breast. It was extra extra crispy and I gnawed it and picked it being starved from the trip. My daughter thanked me for not saying anything and not causing a scene. We do eat out 100's of times a year and this one drew the short worse fried chicken ever award. My $50 and $10 tip dinner wasn't the servers fault. So my family took advantage of Countryside's offer of curbside orders yesterday. So glad we did! We phoned our order in, and then they brought our order to our car! So easy! We ordered a large pizza with roasted red peppers, onions, and sausage as our toppings. So, the same excellent and gracious service, and the same delicious food! Thank you, Countryside, for adapting to this unusual situation so smoothly and quickly, so that us customers are still well fed! Recently, we hosted an event at this facility. I have hosted and planned many parties over the years. However, this was perhaps one of the most miserable and unprofessional experiences I have ever encountered. Once Countryside had been identified (local business with a laid back atmosphere), a group of us went to lunch there to try it out. The experience was fine, and we decided to give the party a shot. From the moment we made our deposit, it went downhill. To say the communication skills of the manager, whom was the only person we were allowed to speak with, was poor, is an understatement. She flat out did not return calls. When she did, she could not remember what had been previously discussed, and agreed upon, and even at one point could not read her own notes. We made an agreement for a party package. $1,500 was to include renting their large side room (with access to their TVs and music for a slideshow) and a variety of food from their catering menu.. Then pay additional for open bar, and a any additional food beyond the package. When we arrived not only was nothing set up or ready for our party. We were told we were only allowed to have 1/3 of the room we had rented they were providing a few pizzas instead of the catered menu items. In addition, beer and wine were the only things they would serve - no open bar. Then we were told they planned to wristband our gusts and charge us an additional $25 above and beyond per attendee. They brought warm soda and bottom rung warm beer in pitchers, and set it on a corner table in the sun for guests to serve themselves. Guests were told there was no white wine available and were denied it when they went to the bar to ask. It's also worth mentioning the managers attitude upon our arrival.....A three year old child child, throwing a temper tantrum, then holding a grudge and having a piss poor attitude toward anyone and everyone around them, doesn't begin to compare with the attitude of this manager! Additionally insulting, she had her staff bring out several trays of a specialty martinis, serve them to guests presenting them in a way that appeared they were complementary and charge us individually for each drink at a premium price. In closing the bill, they charged us for the rental of the entire room (to which we had access to 1/3rd), separately each pizzas, pitcher of beer and soda (which should have been part of the "package"), as well as food we were never served, and hundreds of dollars in additional fees to pay by credit card. One may ask why we didn't just pack up and leave the facility when we walked in? Truly, we had no choice but to stay. We had guests arriving to celebrate and nowhere else to go. We figured we had to make the best of the situation. However, we didn't figure on the continued miss management of our event from the restaurant. The only slight piece of karma in the situation is that our guest list was not one of just your average joe's. Most were community and organizational VIPs from all around the area. Needless to say, this facility did not leave a good impression on anyone and certainly didn't drum up more business as a result. However, truth be told, and it does need said, the two wait staff who helped us were fabulous. They tried their best to accommodate and keep a positive attitude. It was sad to watch their efforts be continuously squashed by their manager. Its disappointing there is not an option to leave negative stars as a review. Needless to say, none of us will ever return, and we advise you to patronize another location as well! read more

Went in on a Wednesday at 4pm. Every table seemed to be reserved. Yes reserved for 2 hours after. They said I could sit at a hightop and I denied it told him high tops were not for me. I want to table I'm handicap. They finally sent me a table after I argued, and said I was just gonna sit down anyway, and she said I had to be out of here by 6:30. I said, I did not come here to get married. I'm sure I'll be done and gone by 6:30. This is definitely not the way to treat customers and I've never seen any restaurant. Hold a table for 2 1/2 hours.
