    Salad Pizza

Large bar and restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. It was clean with an attractive decor. The staff was friendly and prices are decent for the area. The fiance ordered a burger and enjoyed it. Her homemade chips were really good. I went with the Salad Pizza. I prefer veggie pizzas, and this was a greek salad on a pizza crust. Unique and delicious, and I'm glad I ordered the smallest size. It was so filling I had enough leftover for lunch the next day.

Masha at Countryside Saloon in Des Plaines is absolutely the best! She really knows her customers and remembers exactly what they like. She always checks in to make sure everyone has what they need, and somehow manages to refresh your drink before you even have to ask. Masha is incredibly attentive to everyone in her section and works tirelessly to keep things running smoothly -- from making sure the wait staff has their orders fulfilled to ensuring every guest is happy. Her professionalism and warm personality make her a true standout at Countryside Saloon! Updates: James at Countryside Saloon in Des Plaines is an outstanding bartender. He's incredibly attentive to his customers and always seems to anticipate what people need before they even ask. James is approachable, kind, and genuinely cares about the people he serves. You can tell he takes pride in making everyone feel welcome and comfortable. His empathy and warm personality make him one of the best in the business -- a real asset to Countryside Saloon!

Came here to watch the cubs game. I live literally 5 mins away. Love this place. Food is always good and great customer service however today Ian was our waiter . He was extremely nice , polite , jolly , constantly smiling and kept asking if everything was good. Amazing customer service as I watched other waitress work together as a team. Outstanding service. It was a pleasure being there. Thank you For great service

My partner and I come here very frequently when we want a quick cheap bite and beer. Staff has always been lovely and friendly. They got your standard pours with rotating crafts on draft -- come if you like variety! Pizza is good here but the calamari is what we always come back for

Countryside Saloon is a nice, welcoming restaurant that reminds me of an old-fasioned diner. They have your typical bar food, but our waitress recommended the pizza, which was actually really good. We got a medium and it's good for 2-3 people. Our waitress was so nice and we had multiple conversations with her. They have a few beer and shot deals which is fun. Can't go wrong with this place; you know the type of food you're going to get.

Always a great experience, heloful staff and good food. The pizza has a very thin crust and is crisp and delicious. The beer list is pretty good, lots to choose from.

Countryside saloon is a great bar specially to watch sports have a few drinks, but my visit was strictly for their thin crust cheeses pizza always gotta get cheese pizza on your first visit. CS actually has decent pizza for a bar. I actually prefer it over chasers. CS crust is nice and thin. They offer a 18 inch for $25 which I think is reasonable most places charge that for a 14-16 inch. I think their sauce is decent. It's more on the acidic side, which I prefer. Service was great from the hostess to the waiter and the busier were very nice. It's a huge standalone building with a ginormous parking lot. 100% Recommend!

Do they allow dogs in the patio?

I am not sure. My guess is no. I have never seen any dogs there. You should call and ask the managers. They are friendly and helpful!

I read through some of the negative reviews and they are obviously fake. I've been here a few times…read moreand the food has been consistently good. The owner Jun has a sarcastic sense of humor. I understand that we live in a time where American gen z gets offended by everything. Some of the reviews are just plain dumb, they didn't even eat anything or they walked in and walked out. This review is from someone that actually experienced it. We came on a Saturday night around 7:40 pm. There were only a few occupied tables. Two large groups and one couple. The ambiance was laidback with good music. It was only loud because the two large tables were laughing annoyingly, loud. The young Asian table drank one sip of beer and all of a sudden, their laughter echoed throughout the whole place. I'm Asian myself but I can hold my alcohol. The parking lot is shared since it's in a strip mall. To clarify, we did have to wait 50 mins before we started receiving our food. I believe Jun was the only chef and he made everything from scratch. He finished serving the other tables before he got to our order. FYI, Jun said the prices haven't been updated on the printed menus. I would say 4.5 out of 5 is good. I only took off half a point because the two large tables' laughter were cringy and vexing. We ordered bulgogi tacos, o-deng tahng (fishcake soup), garlic chicken wings, and sweet potato fries. -bulgogi tacos 5 - it says 3 on the menu but you actually get 4. Each taco is packed with the same amount of meat as the others. The chips and the housemade salsa are good too. -o-deng tahng 5 - the fishcake soup is so colorful and the broth has a mildly spicy flavor. This can be shared between 2-3 people. Highly recommended. -garlic chicken wings 5 - they are much larger than what you see in the picture. They are very meaty and I like that you can actually smell/taste the garlic. -sweet potato fries 5 - I loved how small and skinny they are, yet they are mighty in flavor. The seasoning was just right.

Quite a surprise for me since the photos of this spot suggest that this is an obscure dive bar. But…read morethe food here is beyond passable bar food -- and is actually very good. The atmosphere here is definitely unique, unlike most restaurants, and even bars in the suburbs. Definitely great if you're someone who is into sports, comic books, and also likes to discover hidden gems. Service here is best described as prompt but sassy, but also something that can't be accurately described (in a good way) and just needs to be experienced in person. I'm not exactly sure if there's a menu, as the regulars seem to already know what to order - but this is something that can be researched online and is both bolder in flavor and more interesting than what you can typically find in a bar, or Korean restaurant. Kind of a fusion between familiar and tasty American bar food -- but with Korean influences to elevate the flavors. All the food I tried here shined both in texture and flavor. The seafood pancake had a great crisp on the outside and generous amounts of seafood inside. It was packed with tasty herbs and a slightly chewy texture that was still fantastic after I reheated it the next day. The Korean fried chicken used large wings and drumsticks, which really helped to provide more tender and moist meat than some local competitors. This was super crispy, possibly more crispy than similar options at Bonchon and CM chicken. A small warning for the spicy options, as this is a higher spiciness level than what many people may be used to with fried chicken. The kimchi fried rice has a great mix of egg, kimchi, and seasonings that create a delicious dish even for those who may not particularly care for the flavor profile of kimchi. Putting the flame torch to the egg and rice adds a good smokiness to the dish, and the mix of onion and egg really adds a lot of umami to the dish. Overall, this is a unique dining experience and worth a visit as the food is flavorful, inexpensive, and well executed. Especially worth a visit for anyone who likes bar food but wants something a bit higher quality and packed with flavors -- this is definitely not the menu you'd find at a traditional Korean spot.

I grew up in the area and am back for a week for a wedding. After spending the day with an old…read morefriend, I convinced him to go out. This was the closest spot to him that was reportedly open until 1. I thought it looked good so we ubered here around 11:30. Upon walking in, the bar was empty except for two other groups of 2 and 4. They were nearing middle age and it seemed like that was the target demographic of this establishment based on the decor. My friend and I sat by the door and ordered a round from the bartender, whose name was Beata according to my receipt. One of the other patrons, visibly drunk, started yelling because he was accused of not paying his tab. It was a quiet, empty bar, and I could hear it all. About 5 minutes after I had ordered my drink, Beata comes and lets me and my friend know that they would be closing in less than an hour (which was a good bit earlier than the alleged 1:00 closing time). So I asked for another drink and she let me know that I can only have one at a time. I then finished my cosmo relatively quickly and then ordered a margarita. What happened next truly has never happened to me before. When I ordered my margarita and she saw my empty glass, she asked me, "Are you trying to get drunk quickly? You're drinking too fast." As a bartender and bar manager myself, I would never stand for a bartender to be so blatantly rude to a patron. Especially in a bar as empty as it was, you want to build relationships, not burn bridges and ensure they're not only never coming back but also takes to Yelp afterwards. It's funny that she was worried about the sober person getting too drunk when she just had a disheveled patron yelling and being hostile. I'm sure he didn't show up that drunk. It truly puzzled me, and we made sure to leave as soon as possible after that. My friend and I both tend bars and agreed we would never ask questions like that so directly and rudely. I wonder if she asks those same questions to anyone ordering a round of shots. The bar was also extremely bright and the decor was strange. The playing of country music also didn't fit the vibe of the bar. Below average cosmo with wrong garnish, adequate margarita served in the wrong glass. If the owner of this establishment is reading this, please train your employees on customer service and proper drink preparation. At least one of them wouldn't know tact if she had the dictionary page open in front of her.

Now, the first time I stopped in here was in the 1990's, to watch a game and eat some burgers... and I didn't go back again until the mid-2000's, just once, for karaoke. I had little kids and didn't get out much, met up with some friends and made it a quick stop for the evening, since I had to work in the morning. Here we are, 2026, and I've been in a few times in the last few months. I've got to imagine you're wondering why I'm only giving it three stars, it's the ambiance, to be honest... there's something that isn't for everyone here. I like the place, a little dive bar and a bunch of regulars, but it's not super inviting and I guess that's the issue. The crowd is also a bit on the older side and it's generally pretty dead on the weekends. The food, though... the only thing I have had and wasn't all-in on was the Caesar Wrap, because it was an oil based dressing rather than creamy and it was very messy - everything else I've had (wings, burger, fries) have been quite tasty!
