The Best Donuts around. Freshly baked 2xa day. I would say I don't really eat donuts but every once in a while I pop ono errand get either a dozen or 2. My husband is a manager and he likes to treat his employees at least once or twice a week so he'll bring in donuts amongst other items. They are worth the money. When I saw the line at 5:30 am I knew these was going to be good. Open 24 Hours too? Perfect. Grabbed some donuts for my daughter's birthday donut wall to hang them for her birthday breakfast as edible decor. The kids really liked the wall and mobbed the donuts even after having breakfast. They were soft, HUGE and full in flavor. I grabbed the Boston creme, butter glaze, lemon filled, sugar, red velvet and any and every donut with sprinkles. Why buy Dunkin' Donuts dozen for a $1 more when you can get fresh HUGE donuts by the dozen for a dollar less????? If I lived in the area I would visit more often. Ordered a dozen donuts a week or so ago for delivery and aside from some donuts being stuck together and mixing toppings it was good. My favorite is the boston cream...oh my...the cream so fresh and not overly sweet! Sad donuts. Recently moved to the area. I grew up near the Crystal Lake's "famous" Country Donuts so I was excited when I thought there was a country donuts just down the street from me, an excitement quickly faded. I thought I recalled from my youth that there used to be a country donuts in Schaumburg and the reviews confirmed that memory. This place still looks like the country donuts from yesteryear. The buildings layout, design, and even down to the color codes of the employees dress and the fonts. The donuts left much to be desired. After stopping in, I left with the impression there was some falling out with the old owners of country donuts and someone thought they could do it without them. That or they decided to drop the location and someone thought they could keep it going. I went early-ish (~8am) and my donuts were already plenty stale. From oddly-misshaped donuts, to oily aftertastes, to icing that was sparsely drizzled on, there wasn't much that tried to get me to comeback. Most notably, I couldn't tell if my glaze donut was indeed a glaze donut or just a plain ring of fried dough. All things being said, I saw a 7-eleven down the street. I may have to make my pilgrimage there to get my donut fix in the future. read more

This use to be a 5 star donut shop. Then it changed hands and became a 4 star donut shop. Now I don't know what's going on. The last two times I've been the donuts were terrible. Our favorite donut place, by far, and we go to probably once every month. There are two unique cake donut flavors that are a must try - Red Velvet and Blueberry. Never had either of these flavors anywhere else, and I typically prefer yeast donuts....but these are SO DELICIOUS and melt-in-your-mouth cake donuts! We've never had any issue with donuts tasting stale or old, but we always go in the morning on the weekends. The donuts are much bigger than DD, but they also taste way better. No strange mouthfeel, no taste of old oil. Highly recommend County Donuts for anyone in the area. read more

Do not bother coming here! So disappointed we drove 40 mins out the way to check out this dump. Upon arriving there was absolutely no one here and the lady worker was in a rush getting together a box and asking "which ones do we want"?! Being my first time, I was glancing over the selection and discussing options with my bf and she just kept trying to grab what she heard and I had to tell her no we are just looking. With box in hand and an annoyed look on her face she said "ok which ones" and I got upset and said "what is the rush?!! There's no one here. And she got quiet until we were ready. We asked for water and she gave us one small cup that was dirty. I asked her for another cup (btw don't even ask since it's sink water). Upon sitting down every bite was bad. Not fluffy or fresh!! My bf use to come here all the time and he was upset recipe changed. Took a bite of each and threw the rest in the garbage. Tables were dirty along with the bathrooms. The worker was rude and was eating her lunch see picture attached and talking on the phone and serving incoming customers as they walked in without washing her hands or wearing gloves. Providing good quality donuts at an affordable price while "keeping it simple". Spunky Dunkers is still the king of this category here, but this shop also does it well while keeping the prices similar to Dunkin Donuts. There's tons of fancy donuts you can find around Chicago with exotic flavors and tons of sugar -- but this place manages to provide all the favorites in easy to recognize flavors and with a good texture. Definitely a good place to stop by if you're in this area and need a sugar fix. read more

It is simply still the best donut shop with great customer service. i was in town for my cousin's wedding and treated our out of town guest to these scrumptious donuts. Very disappointed at the management of this County Donuts. The coffee was like tea, very watered down as if the grounds were reused a couple times. The apple fritters and the cinnamon rolls also lacked the previous deliciousness. No hunks of apples, the amount of apple filling was cut in half from the past recipe; the cinnamon rolls were dry and barely tasted of cinnamon. The origin owners took such pride in their offerings but now this management is all about profit. I am happy to pay for a lush apple fritter or a great cup of coffee, but paying full price for a product that is only a shadow of its original self isn't fair to the consumer. read more
