I ordered 3 dozen. I share and freeze them.

I go to the Country Donuts in Crystal Lake. Basically, for the Paczki's. I moved away, but it's worth the drive for them! I've tried Paczki's in several different places. Hands down, these are the best! They freeze well too.

doing business at this location for a while and even though the country is debatable it's still totally donuts inside. Wise and Roselle roads are five lanes wide now and an adventure to cross sometimes but getting there is half the fun. and except for nobody's stubbing out a Lucky at the counter it's the nearly same as forty some years ago: the dough is nuttin' and the coffee is brewin' so please top my contigo and get me an apple cinnamon and a cruller to go? perfect..! guess a paper sack should hold 'em safe and secure until after lunch. warm fakey greeting? nope... big fawning smile? nope... sack of fresh-outs? yep! thank you for your business? you betcha!! it's donuts like donuts used to was way back when before we learned that donuts and black coffee was the result of poor lifestyle choices, not the start. oh, and we totally need Flo and Nadine back behind the counter making life a tad more interesting...

Made it by County Donuts in Schaumburg for a fix. 1. I love the fact that it is open 24 hours. 2. Despite it being open 24 hours, it is a gamble on what donuts are fresh and which ones have been sitting for awhile. This is an average donuts shop and will do in a pinch if you are in the area and craving donuts beyond standard donut shop hours.

Service is good and the lady was very nice. I went to my favorite donut place close by but they now close at 8pm. I figured I'd give County Donuts another try after a long time after being very disappointed in the quality. - Boston cream filled 3 = good fluffy dough, generous custard filling and decent chocolate icing - Chocolate Cream filled 2 = each one not a consistent even size, way too oily, not enough chocolate flavor - Glazed Old Fashioned 1= oil is way too hot and they are trying to rush frying stage. Inside semi-raw, very oily/greasy and falling apart on the plate. They can't stay intact. - Raised donuts 1= They don't let them rise enough or are over proofing them before fry stage as they shrink and are semi flat! Overall the donuts are way too oily and you can see all the oil in the trays at the shop and also in the box at home. Inferior donut products.

County Donuts is one of my favorite donut places in Chicago! All the donuts are made fresh daily, and they are delicious!! Recently we found out they have eggs in them, so if you don't eat eggs just wanted to let you know! The staff is always friendly, and they have a few tables where you can sit and eat your donut and coffee! The shop it's open 24/7, which is always a perk!!

Jelly donut (note the lack of filling).

Quality is subpar. The donuts taste stale, and the jelly donuts have maybe a teaspoon of jelly in them. For the price, we expected far better. These don't even really beat out Dunkin Donuts, as sad as that is to say....

3.5 stars but rounding up to 4. I'm not the typical early AM donut person, I usually go late in the evening and that's exactly what I did when I went here lol. I went around 7pm on a Thursday night and I was pleasantly surprised with the variety they have. All the traditional donuts plus some fun ones (mint chocolate, cherry, etc). We got a 1/2 dozen: red velvet (my favorite), German chocolate (meh, kind of dry), marble ring (meh), old fashion (2nd favorite), mint chocolate (decent) and Bavarian (it was okay). Service was great, the woman there was friendly and had a big smile on her face. We felt welcomed just by her smile! The place itself is an old school donut stop, I love this feel and vibe. This place has been around since the 90s (maybe more) and there's a reason for that - Taste, service and the atmosphere are all great! These donuts are fairly priced, about $9 for a 1/2 dozen.

Not too salty or bland. I got a fresh red bean paste pastry. SUPER fresh. I reached towards the back. The bread was very fluffy and soft. The bean paste was fresh and not too sweet. The ice pistachio matcha was recommended and new by the cashier. He was right! He mentioned how he puts 1 pump instead of 3 and there was a very very small amount of sweetness. If u don't want sweet, do 1 pump. The topping and foam adds some sweetness. Small/regular size was a perfect amount. I paid about $20 for 4 pastries and a regular drink. Very disappointing experience at Tous Les Jours today…read more The service was extremely rude. The cashier (long black hair) she had an unfriendly attitude from the start--no greeting, no smile, and it felt like she was already irritated. What made it worse was how both the cashier and the owner spoke to me. They raised their voices instead of helping. There was a promotion for 3 bakery items for $5. I accidentally selected 7 items instead of 6, and I clearly told them multiple times that I only wanted 6 and did NOT want the extra item. Instead of fixing a simple mistake calmly, they kept raising their tone at me, which was unnecessary and uncomfortable. As a customer, I expect basic respect and professionalism. This situation could have been handled politely in seconds, but instead it turned into a negative experience. I won't be returning, and I hope management seriously works on customer service.

I would avoid this establishment…read more I called on 1/27 at 12:40 PM to order vegan cupcakes for my son's birthday. The employee, Tim, told me they had 6 vanilla and 6 chocolate vegan cupcakes available. I requested 4 chocolate cupcakes, and he said I would need to prepay and that they would be ready in 15 minutes. I was surprised they could be prepared that quickly, but went along with it. We picked them up about 30 minutes later and brought them home. That evening, my son tried one and it was extremely hard, with grainy frosting. Overall, the cupcake tasted terrible. We didn't eat the remaining three and left them in the box. The next day, I returned to the shop to share my concerns and was told Tim would call me back. He did call and said they had tried a cupcake and felt it tasted fine. He also told me that I may not know what vegan cupcakes taste like. I didn't argue, but I've had plenty of vegan desserts before, and they've never been this inedible. He then explained that the batter used was leftover from a cake made a week earlier and that it's common practice for them to freeze batter and make cupcakes later. I was surprised to hear this. More disappointing was that there was no attempt to make things right or offer any solution--only to explain why they wouldn't provide a refund. I told him that was fine, but that I wouldn't be returning or recommending their shop and would be sharing my experience. If you're looking for vegan options or any dessert options and decent customer service, there are plenty of other places in the area. I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

That said, with things going on in my life, I don't always have the time to bake like I want to. When I need something and I don't have the time to do it, then I usually go to a brick and mortar bakery. Imagine my surprise when I discovered a mutual Facebook friend running a baking business out of her home (https://www.facebook.com/MissKittysTreats). For most of you that have read my reviews, you know I am a big supporter of local businesses. Back in February I discovered that Miss Kitty was doing cakes, so I ordered one from her for Valentine's Day, a lovely chocolate mocha coconut cake with ganache and espresso. Well that did not go so well. The cake arrived as planned and looked beautiful, but The Doctor was admitted into the hospital for a triple bypass. We eventually got home to try the cake about two weeks later, and it was very good. But as a baker, I knew that cake would have been a whole lot tastier if we had it on VD. Fast forward to our anniversary and we got the same cake to have at home as dessert with The Queen. OMG! The flavors were so amazing and the cake was so moist. For you folks that like a lot of frosting, you get it here. I myself don't do a lot of frosting, but I know most people do like it. I am that person who scraps off frosting from cupcakes and Cake, but Miss Kitty's frosting combined with the cake was sublime. Ain't gonna lie, I did take come off :-) Still delicious AF. This weekend Miss Kitty made donuts: Cinnamon sugar apple cider, Carmel apple cider, Strawberry Dreams, Pumpkin Spice, "Fun size " candy bars: coconut chocolate almond (With nuts or without ) and snickers not snickers, Classic vanilla/chocolate Halloween theme I am not a pumpkin girl, so Miss Kitty was nice enough to swap them out for the coconut chocolate almond donuts. I am a sucker for chocolate and coconut and the thought of eating an Almond Joy cake donut was too much for me. These are supposed to be for a birthday celebration tonight, but I had to try the coconut chocolate almond one. Yeah that was so good, so so good. I am trying not to eat another one...good luck with that. Miss Kitty is operating out of her home, but takes orders and delivers to your home.
