I love Courtesy Cleaners. Everyone there is incredibly friendly and they really do their best to provide whatever level of service is needed. It's truly a local, neighbourhood, friendly experience. I would have given them five stars, but it's happened on more than one occasion that they missed the timeline and don't call you in advance, so you have to show up first to learn that they are running behind schedule. This never happens with their dry cleaning, but more often then you'd expect it happens with the tailoring service and they offer nothing beyond an apology. BEWARE: PRICES SUBJECT TO CHANGE WHENEVER I tried this cleaners once and never again. I took 7 dress shirts to be laundered and pressed. She asked when I would like to pick them up; I asked to pick them up 2 days later. Fine. I ended up picking them up 5 days later due to my hectic schedule. When I took in my slip with my order to pick up my shirts, the guy searched and couldn't find my shirts. That's when I noticed they don't have a scanner; they track everything manually. Finally, the owner that took my order found my shirts and said it was $14, which is accordance to her listed price list of $2 per shirt. Then she said it was $21 because I asked for 2 days, which is considered expedited; if it was 3 days later, it would be $14. This is the first I was informed that I was asking for EXPEDITED AND THAT SHE WOULD HAVE TO CHARGE ME 50% MORE! Not cool. She should have told me at drop off. Normally I would argue that she is being shady and that she should have told me upfront. But instead I paid the $21 AND I WILL NEVER GIVE THIS CLEANERS MY BUSINESS. To be honest, I feel like the woman owner makes stuff up, based on what she thinks you want to hear. I have a gut feeling that something is shady about her business and that she is fake. Makes me wonder if she really served in the military or is just saying that to get business. My gut is usually right and my gut says not to trust her, so I won't be back based on principle of charging me 50% more without telling me and without posting that "policy". So congrats, Courtesy Cleaners, you ripped me off for $7, but you just lost out on 5 yrs of dry cleaning from me, which is about $3,000 in business. You're welcome. read more

The clothes always come out great and if there's something missed, she will always fix it no questions asked! The hubby gets all his Marine Corps uniforms cleaned and altered here... Hated it! So I drop my stuff off and she says, "Hey Mark, Long time no see!" I'd never been there before and my name isn't Mark. I drop 2 pairs of slacks off on Friday at 2:00 pm and she says they'll be done Wednesday. Seems slow doesn't it? So, I decide to pop in on Tuesday just to check. She calls me a different name assuming she remembers me, something like George. Wrong again. Not a big deal, but it made things awkward. She walks three steps in to the back, does a 180 spin and says, "Nope, not yet," without even looking. On Wednesday, she looked and looked, then stopped to help another customer, then looked and looked, then answered the phone. Then she enlisted the help of an associate, and looked some more. Took 20 minutes for her to find my clothes. TWENTY MINUTES. I was already planning my lawsuit. 2 stars cause the cleaning was adequate. -3 cause the place is horribly unorganized. The business is too large for the staff to handle. I dare you to drop something off. You'll see they have way too many clothes for them handle. read more

PROS: - Super cheap!!! - Clothes came out as expected, neat, clean, and stainless - Quick service when dropping off and picking up clothes CONS: - $15 minimum for credit card purchase - Hole in the wall kinda place, would never come here if it weren't for the yelp reviews - Clothes don't smell particularly nice, like fresh laundry or anything I hardly ever dry clean clothes, but if I ever do again, I will definitely come here. I dry cleaned a thin delicate tank top, a peacoat, and clubbing dress for only $20 total!!! That is SO cheap. I went to Green and Fresh Cleaners last time to dry clean my boyfriend's trench coat, which had a lining, and that cost $25! I will admit that the girl gave me a discount because I was Vietnamese, but I think it was only like $2. I dropped off my clothes on Monday and she said they would be ready by Thursday. I didn't pick it up until the following Tuesday, so I can't really comment on how timely they are, but when I came at 9 AM, they were very prompt in finding my clothes and getting me out of there quickly. One thing that would make me second guess coming here next time I dry clean is the smell. I don't normally dry clean my clothes, so I don't really know what's normal, but my tank top, which is made of very thin delicate material, has a sort of Asian smell to it, kind of like it's been sitting in someone else's closet for a while. The dress and peacoat don't really have odd smells, and if they do, it's very light, but they don't smell particularly good either, like fresh laundry or anything. read more

Ann and her family are the absolute best and nicest cleaners we have ever been to. We went to them for 5+ years before moving out of the area. I have not found a cleaners I like even close to as much down in San Diego. This is a family run business where if you're a regular they know you're name and are friendly and welcoming every single time you go in. They do rush jobs when I need it for a minimal increase in cost and are happy to clean just about anything I bring in there including poorly washed cat barfed couch covers (advice: don't wash, just wipe and bring it in, washing makes it tougher for cleaners to get those stains out!). They also do alterations which I haven't used them for and they're very popular with the military community since they do a lot of patch sewing and uniform cleaning. That seems to be a large segment of their business. They're located right off the Moffet freeway exit and across the highway from NASA, very easy to get to. They're not in a busy shopping area but are located in a neighborhood with just a few businesses around them. It's super convenient for me since i live in that neighborhood! I cannot comment on their timelines or timeliness since I usually pick up my items a few days late but I do suggest not losing your receipt/ticket since it can take a while to locate your items without it (I have resorted to taking a photo of my receipt immediately which works out really well). Parking is not an issue. This place has very reasonable prices and service is always great especially with Annie! She's always upbeat, helpful, and has a great attitude whenever I see her. I've been coming here for years and have never had a negative experience. Recently I brought a beaded white dress here to be cleaned; Annie helped me with fixing loose beading and she noticed some stains were not removed and had it taken care of (thankfully I didn't need the dress right there and then). I also have dropped off clothing with horrible makeup or wine stains and they were able to pull the stains out, thus saving the clothing from ending up in the Goodwill bin. Earlier this year they quickly press several items of clothing as I was en-route to the airport and short on time. No frills, good cleaning services and great prices. read more

Courtesy Cleaners are a pretty good choice around the area for your basic dry cleaning needs. I haven't had much issue with their times because I haven't brought anything that needs to be expedited; usually I drop off on Monday and end up picking up on Fridays. Yes, the fact that they still track things through written tickets (as opposed to bar code scanning) is a bit old school but it's not such a big deal. Their prices are pretty reasonable, although I have only brought dress shirts and pants to be dry cleaned, so I can't speak for things that may need to be hand cleaned (like beaded dresses etc). The staff has been unfailingly polite and friendly. I have had a tough time with dry cleaners around South Bay but so far Courtesy Cleaners has earned my repeated business. read more

Even though she has a huge number of customers and clients she is still able to remember exactly who I am and what clothes I have left for them to be cleaned. I am a very forgetful manchild and I am always leaving things in my pockets and Anh always keeps my belongings aside for me and has the delivery driver drop them to me along with our daily clean clothes. They were disorganized and did an amateur job on my alteration. When I went to pick up my dry cleaning & mending - several days after it was supposed to be ready - they had not done any of the mending I had asked for. They hurriedly got to sewing up my pants right at that moment, and they had forgotten to repair a button on my suit jacket. Because they said their buttonhole machine was broken, they offered to send my delicate, tailored shirt to another shop with a machine to cut buttonholes. The result looked terrible, clearly done by hand - my guess is it never left this shop - a crooked cut, frayed and uneven stitching. Didn't even cut off the extra thread. I have to get it fixed somewhere else. At least my suit was clean but I will not come here again. read more

I have been going to this cleaners for over 10 years. I don't know what to say other than if you are taking your clothes anywhere else, you suck. Annie and her family are so friendly and helpful I refuse to take my clothes anywhere else. Being in the military it's hard to find a cleaners who knows what they are doing in regards to putting on rank, sizing, ect. Annie used to be in the military, so she knows all the reg's and has helped me more than once when I needed some sort of award, rank or whatever in a hurry. I initially came to this dry cleaning place as they have a high yelp rating and I have not been disappointed in the past 6 months. The prices are affordable; the staff is friendly, honest and personable; and my clothes have never gotten better attention. In the past 6 months none of my items have ever gone missing; I have gotten my buttons sewn back on if they got damaged during pressing of the shirts. They always de-hair my clothes free of charge, as I have a Husky which sheds a ton, before pressing them. Since the owner Ann has been prior military, she is very knowledgeable with the measurement for sewing on patches for the dress blues; I definitely recommend anyone who needs any military dress uniform alterations to come here. Yes, there is a place nearby other than Travis AFB. They always give me a reasonable pick up date 2 or 3 business days? I forget, I suppose I specify that there is no rush needed and pick it up a week later? I just generally pick up my clothes 1 or 2 days after my pick up date and there has never been an issue. I'm low maintenance, so overall, I can only recommend this dry cleaning place, I've always been more than satisfied. Lastly, I love this place, because it has a mom and pop store vibe. read more

Ive been to this place 3 times and I enjoyed their service very much. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They do military creases, tailor military uniforms, and dry clean of course. Not a lot of the cleaners in the area know the standard military creases so it's nice to have a place a couple blocks from my job that can do it for me. I have it done standard service, I think that's 2-3 business days, and it's pretty cheap. The only problem I think I'll run into, I asked about a zip-up hoodie that the zipper is broken on that I would like to repair and they told me it would cost $36 if they have to replace the zipper. I don't know about you, but it is hard to find an affordable high quality dry cleaner. I have taken my clothes to many dry cleaners in the past and they were either too expensive or their process just did not get my clothes clean. For this reason, I had a huge pile of clothes to send to the cleaners. I decided to use Yelp to help me find a new dry cleaner. I read through several reviews from different cleaners and decided to try Courtesy Cleaners. I did not have unreasonably high expectations, I just wanted clean clothes that didn't cost a fortune. When I dropped my clothes off to Courtesy Cleaners, Ann was extremely helpful. I told her I would only have 4 items cleaned to see how well their service actually cleaned clothes. I had a white dress and a white shirt both with a few stains. Ann said that was perfectly fine. I then asked if I should hand wash clothes according to the label or have then professionally cleaned. She explained the importance of having your clothes professionally cleaned to make them last longer. Which explains why mother, who even dry cleans her jeans, looks like she is wearing new clothes all the time. She gets everything professionally cleaned. After giving it some thought I figured that I might as well just have the other 12 items cleaned at the same time. And, it would free us some space in my trunk. Ann even offered a small discount since I was having so many items cleaned at one time. A week later I picked up my clothes. I was shocked and amazed that the stains on the white shirt and white dress were GONE! I tried several times to get the stains out of the white shirt, but failed miserably. The cost was also very reasonable; $39 for 4 blouses and 2 dresses. I am beyond thrilled to have found Courtesy Cleaners. They will be my GO TO dry cleaners from now on. Awesome dry cleaner - the prices are cheap, I've never had any issues with the quality of the cleaning, and I know I can always count on a smile and friendly service when I visit! While the standard turnaround times are longer than I've typically experienced, they've never been late on the promised date, and in the rare instances when I've needed something turned around next day, they've always been able to accommodate. Picked this place as I'm new to the area and saw the yelp ratings were really good. Wanted this to work out so badly because the owner is very nice and it's conveniently located. But .... I brought in a bunch of shirts to be drycleaned and tripled confirmed it would be ready for pick up five days later. These guys are great! The first time I went in there, it was for an old fedora that I'd bought at a flea market. Figured I should probably get it dry cleaned, since it undoubtedly had about 80 years of some random dude's scalp sweat on it. When I went to pick it up, they told me that it was so old, they hadn't been able to dry clean it, but they were able to spot clean it. I got out my wallet, and asked how much, but the lady wouldn't charge me anything, since she wasn't able to dry clean it. Woohoo! My second experience was good, too.
