When you don't maintain your new property, 5 years can really take a toll on the rooms, or the type of guests that stay here. Carpets, beds and plumbing fixtures all showing a lot of wear and the housekeeping isn't really that great, say like it is at a Holiday Inn Express. Ok, this is a Motel 6 property with minimal amenities, but really. The front desk isn't staffed all the time, so if you wanna check in at a late hour it might be problematic. I'm not saying it's a junk property like a Motel 6 in a bad neighborhood with cars spinning doughnuts in the parking lots or anything. I'd stay here in a pinch. At least they have a kitchen sort of in every room cause there's no free breakfast served here. I had a work team that was gonna stay here for a few days as we have a work thing out at the Gigafactory, but I think we;ll cut our losses and move our stay to Fallon and just drive in. At least there's real places to eat in Fallon, compared to here where there's just a Burger King.

Minus the hairdryer which I had to go downstairs to get. The con; and it's just one gigantic one; is they did some work on the pipes and they didn't let their guests know. Surprisingly, when we went to turn on the shower a bunch of brown sludge came out and it was like that for a good two or three hours. We had called downstairs to let them know what was coming out of our shower and faucet, and they told us to just let the shower run and hoped it would clear up. So we did what they suggested and we let the shower run for a good half hour 45 minutes and it started to clear up and it looked better, but we still didn't trust it. We did call back downstairs and tell them that the water was not clear and they told us to just keep running it more until it was completely clear. We did do that! Once the water cleared up, we were able to take a shower, but the next morning when I went to go take a shower the brown water was back and I was unable to shower when I needed to. Sadly, I had to let the water run for another hour before it cleared up again, and I was finally able to shower. The only thing I would suggest to them is if they have work done on pipes or anything that could affect the water flow or water pressure or the actual water that's coming out is I think they need to notify their guests so they're not caught off guard that's all other than that. The day was OK.

And what better way than to review one of the better hotels that I have been to…read more I've stayed in just about everything over the decades; from the rinky-dink roach motels in the middle of nowhere to the more elaborate high-end hotels with premium valet service and high thread count sheets. This takes me to the city of Fernley, Nevada (about 30 minutes east of Reno on I-80) where my lady and I booked a one-night stay at "SureStay by Best Western - Fernley" from Friday 6/19/2026 to Saturday 6/20/26. Since I made the reservation via-Priceline (which I have booked a ton of trips with), this simplified the whole process. Total cost which included tax + XCover Protection came out to around $135. We arrived around 6:45pm as finding this place through Google maps was a breeze. Once parked, we made our way into the front lobby, provided the front desk receptionist with my last name, and we were given two key cards complete with the Wi-Fi password; all in less than 2 minutes! Once we entered our room, it smelled clean and came fully equipped with a mini fridge, microwave, 40" LED TV, king size bed w/four plush pillows, two nightstands w/lights on each side/charging ports, plenty of storage with two full size dressers, and a closet for hanging your clothes. The bathroom included an iron/ironing board, a 15-minute light timer, and excellent hot water pressure for the shower. Out of all of the amenities, everything exceeded my expectations with the exception of the heater/air conditioner as that was a bit loud and the TV which lacked many channels but no big deal as we were only there for a night. The exterior grounds were well-lit after dark and felt quite safe. I was able to park my vehicle directly outside of our room as this hotel had 24-hour surveillance cameras. One very positive perk was the swimming pool which was enclosed and climate-controlled at around 105°F. This may sound scorching hot but once in the pool, it made the whole experience quite enjoyable; especially since I love swimming. I took advantage of swimming on both Friday evening and Saturday morning. Finally, the complimentary breakfast options were quite amazing as they offered scrambled eggs, country potatoes, sliced ham, oatmeal, toast, muffins, yogurt, cereal, hot cocoa, coffee (w/creamer packets, half & half, sugar), tea, apple/orange juices, and waffles (on Sundays only). I also wanted to add that they have a decent working ice machine and vending machine. The primary reason why I booked this particular hotel was that it was much less pricey than many of the hotels in Reno. I also wanted to add that you have a ton of retail businesses & eateries, all within less than a mile. This includes a Walmart, Dollar Tree, Panda Express, KFC, Domino's Pizza, Raley's, Starbucks, a tire shop, and even a couple of casinos. My lady and I went to the Silverado Casino (only about 1/2 mile away) and ate at the Ranch House Restaurant. With the excellent service, competitive price, amenities, and close proximity to gas, food, and services, I am giving the "SureStay by Best Western - Fernley" an above average four-star rating.

So this review had to wait until I could know I wasn't going back very soon. I stayed here for roughly about 3 months straight. It's a nice little family owned motel. It's definitely not the weekly motel vibe that you might get on 4th street in Reno. But a "small town" motel vibe that you might have gotten back in the heyday of motels in new interstates before freeways. There is nothing fancy about Main Street Inn, but if you are in Yerington for more than a potty break, you probably should already understand that there is nothing really fancy about Yerington. This is a town of friendly real people. Not fake city people that plaster on that smile because of some creepy corporate guideline. The town is probably the most welcoming town in all of rural Nevada for me. The office is populated by a bunch of locals filling in the hours. So there may be small spot of time you wont have anyone at the front desk. This is really a mom and pop business. The room I was in for most of my time in town was just right for my needs. Each room has it's own character it seems. Mine had lots of drawers to keep stuff in as well. All of the staff, including the owner was always pleasant and as helpful as possible when I interacted with them. If I could get this good of service at the high end hotels I stay at on vacation, I might never come home! The only real negatives that I can think of are that they don't have great parking for larger vehicles. So that might be a consideration if you have a large vehicle it could be a tiny walk from where you have to park your car. All of the businesses are within walking distance of the Inn as well. I hope they can work something out with the casino to where you can charge your room for the restaurant charges so you can get the points.

Pleanty of parking. Walking in this place sure seemed a more upscale place than a Holiday Inn Express. All very clean and new looking. No prob with my reservation and my room was just fine. The WiFi worked well and the bed was so nice all new and not saggy yet! The shower was endless hot water and had a good pressure. I took a full 45 min shower and still plenty of hot water. Brand new room, so I don't expect to find any creepy crawly things running around. Breakfast is served from 7am on weekends and 6:30am on weekdays. I gotta say this is a way nicer breakfast buffet than Holiday Inn Express. They have actual real plates to use here, no paper plates and plastic forks and spoons, but real nice utensils. Coffee is in real ceramic mugs too. The food was all your standard, eggs, potatoes and muffins. But get this, they had quiche, little mini ones that were so delish! You had the choice of making waffles on those amusing waffle flippy thingies too! Dang, even the OJ tasted better than where I usually stay. One tray had those English muffin egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches already made, just need a sausage patty! I think there's a pool and gym, but I didn't have time to used those. I was able to do work in the room online connected so all is good. I'd stay here again, it's worth the higher room rate.

Meh, it's a motel…read more Reserved a room for the way back from Burning Man. The email said checkin closes at 0230. Fortunately that wasn't true because the line to leave the burn was once again absurdly long and I arrived at 0315 needing a shower, several hours sleep, and another shower before starting the long drive home. Looks like there were other burners with the same thought. Don't stub your foot on the bedframe. They should fix that. The casino/restaurant next door is great for a real meal; in the area are gas and fast food and groceries and a big evil box store that I will never visit.

I read the reviews and I didn't think it could be that bad! Oh Yes it was....breakfast included was a joke, worst one we have had in Fernley, Never again. I'd rather sleep in my car
