I've been to Reno several times in my life but this is the first time I've stayed at Nugget Casino Resort. Overall, my one night stay was not a bad experience. They have amenities such as a pool and gym. I did not check these things out. They also have lounging areas, and indoor stage, an outdoor stage, and Starbucks. Check in was easy. I just went to the line and the people working the counters were decent. I did have to ask about the hold on my card. It is like any other place you stay, they put a hold and then the money will be put back onto your card if there were no issues/damages/lost items. The casino area looked okay. I did not gamble on this trip. I would stay here again if need be. Check it out for a decent price and an ok stay.

The Skywalk Arcade is located in the Nugget Casino Resort on the second floor. They are open all day, everyday, 24/7. This arcade room offers a bunch of games from prize machines to arcades. The Arcade room splits into two separate rooms directly across from each other. They have a few tables and chairs so parents has some where to sit and watch their kids. The ticket redemption or prize counter is located in that same room. The other has two vending machines. One has snacks and the other has drinks. There's a section of old school video games like Pac-Man and Dig Dug for old timers like me. Also, it has a pool/billiards table and two air hockey tables. Location: 1100 Nugget Ave, Sparks, NV 89431

We have stayed many times before. We know what to expect which is usually a lower tier bit clean enough. Check in was fine. Front desk was friendly enough. Casino bartenders were nice. Everything else was just slow. Our room? We didn't notice it at night but next morning we found the stained comforter we had been sleeping on. Plus a bevy of toe nail clippings on the floor. Notified the front desk and they gave us a $40 food credit and will "deep cleaned" the room while we were out. Apperently "deep clean" does not mean vacuuming everything because toe nails clippings were still there. I can't imagine us staying here again. Who knows what they do not clean.

I genuinely do not understand how this room was considered acceptable to rent to paying guests. Especially guests that paid alot of money There were disgusting splatter stains on the walls and ceiling that looked absolutely revolting, grime and smudges all over furniture and mirrors, dirty drawers with marks and buildup inside, visible filth on surfaces, and stains on the bedding. Every time I looked closer, it somehow got worse. It felt dirty, neglected, and honestly unsanitary. I paid for a clean, safe place to sleep, not a room that made me question whether anything had been wiped down at all. Housekeeping clearly missed the entire assignment here because this did not look cleaned, inspected, or cared for in any meaningful way. For the amount charged, this was embarrassing. I should not have to inspect every corner of a hotel room like I'm documenting evidence. Absolutely unacceptable and beyond disappointing. They didn't offer a refund either

HORRIBLE! SW Airlines gives this hotel 4 stars? I would give it zero stars if I could! On a 4 night stay, in first room (Resort Tower) I got locked in the bathroom because the door handle was broken. Thank goodness, my daughter was still in the room and could let me out. We immediately went back to the check-in desk and they didn't even apologize for what happened. They moved us to a different room - it was after midnight so we didn't notice till the next morning how dirty the room was. Hair on the towels, mold on the shower mat and the fridge didn't work. Next morning, back to the check-in desk and still no apology and staff is grumpy. They moved us to the Casino Tower in a "Hospitality Suite." We thought OK, now this should work! NOPE! This room had 2 bathrooms and the master shower did not drain fast enough so by the time you were done taking a shower, you were ankle deep in water. The front bathroom only about a fourth of the water was coming out of the shower head and the rest of it was still coming the spout. The worst part of this room was the noise coming from the train yard at the back of the hotel. All night long you heard loud bangs as they were connecting each train car.

Room right next to the freeway. Hope you like staying up all night listening to loud trucks

The worst casino hotel I've ever stayed at. Casino floor is small, reeks of cigarette smoke, has one overcrowded craps table, and is full of rigged slots. Our room was right next to the freeway, elevator lobby, and ice machine. You could hear them all night. Almost all of the elevators were broken/"under maintenance". You had to wait 10-15mins just to get a cab to the upper floors. We ran out of bathroom soap and when we asked the front desk for more, the bald guy with glasses was rude and dismissive. Soap didn't come for another 40mins. Half the arcade games are broken and overcharge your game card. Strongly DO NOT recommend staying here, especially for the outrageous $50+ resort fee. Stay at another casino and actually be able to win back the extra money you spent to stay there instead.

Is the indoor swimming pool clean, clear water? It was murky and felt like it hasn't been cleaned for awhile the last time we went (2 yrs ago).

It's always been pretty clean when I've visited.

Are there hot tubs available? Also pool hrs?

    Call The hotel 775-356-3300

Can you bring guests to the indoor pool if you are staying here?

    yes

Why do they only have 2 people working hotel check in with a line this long?

Great question. When I was there, it was minimal staff. Resembled a, "ghost town" effect. They're… Read more

What time do the tables open back up?

The tables open back up at 9am.

Is there a cancellation fee for the rooms? Or will I get my full refund back? Because I booked my room today and now I wanna cancel it.

I've canceled before and I didn't get charged at all, I believe they don't charge your card anything until you check in. So you should be fine and should get your full refund.

Do they have rooms with Jet tubs?

Yes! Big tubs with jets. We had to "upgrade" to get one of these.

My company party will be here but I'm not 21. Can I walk around in the casino as long as I don't play or sit down?

Yes as far as I know, you can walk around the casino. But like you said once you don't sit down or play you should be fine.

    Do they have Rv parking?

Yes they have parking for RV's

Do the resort tower rooms have a refrigerator and microwave? We went 3 years ago and they had neither but I know they remodeled last year so I was wondering.

A mini fridge yes! A microwave no! But they do have a kuerig coffee machine as well! Hope this helps!

We arrived around 11:30pm and there was a sweet girl who easily helped us check in, and marked up a map to give us precise directions to our room. The room itself was clean and very comfortable. The shower had amazing pressure and was spacious. The bathroom came with body wash, body lotion, shampoo, and conditioner. The AC worked well but was a little loud as it periodically turned off. We grabbed a very quick breakfast the next morning at their 24/7 diner, and it was actually so beautiful inside?! I was very impressed with the decor! Even at 8am, every employee we encountered was attentive, kind, and made our experience enjoyable. My fiancé literally just got 3 scrambled eggs and coffee to tide him over so there isn't a ton to report on the meal, but he was happy! There were 4 mini water bottles waiting for us in the room, a keurig machine with pod options, an ice machine near the elevator, and a filtered water refill station! Also a vending machine for purchasing items. Only knocking off a star because.. well.. it's not a 5 star hotel haha. The AC was a little loud at night, and we were bummed there were no table games for a quick blackjack game as the website does say "The Western Village Casino is a winning environment where you can play the best in slots, table games, and more". However, I don't think I've ever found a better bang for your buck hotel in my life.

The first 2 girls didn't bother to tell me they were not coming because they didn't "Think" I was playing. I was, I'm at casino to play with 3 family members, after I lost a couple of times, we joined up and played together, pooling our money. All I wanted was a blue moon. One girl finally was nice enough to bring me my beer, I tipped, and she explained to me what was up. Don't feel it's right. Later I asked for an AMF drink, girl doesn't tell me anything, then comes back to tell me it's 12 bucks... I understand if policy has changed or whatever, but after speaking to a manager they felt it's better to throw away the drink, instead of explaining to me what was going on. Just upset, as we come here to play, eat wings and drink, always have, but never will again. It should NOT be this hard to get a drink at a casino.

This place is so cool and not cool at the same time…read more.. Here's the bad stuff... 1. Super construction going on and the parking lots are a mess, you don't know to go right or left and I got lost finding entrances even after 3 days.really dirty too. 2. The dirt doesn't stop there. Our first room we were given was so smokey I mean burning eyes smokey. There was a box fan sitting outside the room so I think they tried to air it out but it was like someone burned a cigar in there and just closed the door. 3. After going thru a room swap we were given another room. Fine but there was a dirty rag left in the bathroom counter with hairs all over it. Not a huge deal but still, come on right? 4. The late check out. Went to the front desk night before to make sure late check out was ok since we were at an event that morning. No problem they said you got until 4 with an additional fee. Great right? Nope since our room was a room that was attached to a suite they needed us out before that. Just come on again! 5. The service is just rude everywhere. I mean everyone you encounter! The Rim restaurant guy host in a suit..., I'm convinced was high as a kite. Don't believe me, go there and talk to him, holy! The security desk, rude and unhelpful. Anyone you call on the phone from the room, rude. I'm not expecting Disney customer service, but come on man! Someone teach these guys some customer service skills. So the good.... The resort is really cool. Bowling video games, nice casino, everything to spend a fun weekend. We may even come back just to do the pool and stuff to do there. To wrap it up... Lower your expectations. Your not going to get the cleanest room. Most certainly you will be treated rudely. It's a place that could be so epic but falls short due to just taking short cuts in the customer service, organization and just plain care about your whole experience factor. P.S. you will receive at least 5 text messages telling you about how great their spa is.

The room was okay--nothing special, but no major complaints. The Starbucks is always packed, which seems to be the norm here. Today, I visited the Second Street Marketplace downstairs. The young employee who assisted me had very poor customer service. He didn't acknowledge me, didn't offer a bag for the items I purchased, didn't say thank you, and seemed more interested in chatting with his coworkers than helping customers. Based on what I observed, I wasn't the only customer having issues with him. We also requested housekeeping service for our room. We were informed there would be a charge, which was fine with us. However, after the service, the room looked exactly the same. The bed was made, but that was about it. Now, let's talk about the restaurant downstairs. I ordered a steak, but they brought me chicken instead. I clearly told the waitress I wanted steak. When I pointed out the mistake, another older employee insisted that what I was served was steak. I'm pretty sure I know the difference between chicken and steak. Fortunately, Teddy stepped in, listened to my concern, apologized, and had my order corrected. That is what great customer service looks like. Even our waitress suggested that I just eat the chicken, but guests should never be told to accept something they didn't order. The casino and the room itself were good, and I enjoyed those aspects of my stay. However, many of the staff members could benefit from additional customer service training. To corporate, management, the CEO, owner, or whoever is responsible: please invest in better customer service training. Your guests deserve a better experience. #CustomerService #Management #Hospitality #GuestExperience

I've been here at least 20 times and every single time they widdle down your money and you will leave with nothing you came in with. Slots are horrible, Keno never hits, not sure about video poker but I'd be willing to bet (with a much better chance at winning than if I were to bet anything here) that the poker is garbage too. Standard service, not anything to write home about. This is clearly a hang out spot for people that are already poor and Baldinis makes good and sure they stay that way. You know how you walk in a casino and hear or see lots of people hitting jackpots? Not this place. Just people chain smoking to calm their anxiety of getting robbed once again by the infamous Baldinis. Terrible casino. They will try and hook you with promotions but they are only to get you to show up and feel like you have a chance at winning something but you will indeed win nothing so save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. Of all the Casinos in Reno/Sparks the places that hit the hardest have proven time and again to be Sierra Sid's (right down the street on McCarran) and Peppermill. I've given this place too many chances to redeem themselves but I always walk out of here irritated. They don't even give you small wins on any of the machines to break you in at even or slightly above. Every machine is the same thing: win slightly less than you're betting to chase a dragon that does not exist. Food is notably priced but again that's the only reason I'm giving 2 stars. As a Casino this place is more than deserving of a full Zero Stars.

After nearly 10 months of planning, I expected the basics to be handled correctly. When we checked in, we were given a double room instead of the King room we reserved. I went back to the front desk and was told that because they were oversold for Thursday night, there was no way to move us into a King room at all during our stay. That explanation didn't make much sense--they confirmed they had King rooms available Tuesday and Wednesday, but because of the Thursday overbooking, they couldn't honor the reservation for any of the nights. So even though I booked months in advance and had already arrived, I was effectively bumped in favor of guests who hadn't even checked in yet. To make matters worse, only 2 out of 5 elevators were working the entire stay, which led to long waits (up to 20 minutes to get down in the morning) and added frustration. After the fact, I looked through other reviews and saw that this seems to be an ongoing issue, not a one-off situation. Between the reservation not being honored and the operational problems, it was a pretty disappointing experience overall. Skip this place.

My job recently sent me through Sun Valley many times a day. So, on a bright Saturday morning that allowed me a day to enjoy sleeping in, I decided I was gonna finally get up to Hobey's for breakfast. I was impressed with the layout of the casino floor; a short straight walk to the Cafe entrance. A warm, inviting acknowledgment at the podium, and I'm seated right away. Within a few minutes, a super-friendly waitress is at my table pointing out their new menu... and the Breakfast Specials. I chose the Bacon Breakfast Sandwich and a Side Order of B&G's; I plan to have leftovers. I made a wise decision. The gravy is your typical cafe-style, white and creamy, but I swear I could taste a little extra Chef Love. A secret ingredient, maybe. Very very rude , started yelling at me and she shockingly said, " I'm not gonna loose my job over some loser trying to get a free shower "!. I had my receipt (the proof ) in my hand and she refused to look at it . I ended up telling her what a rude unprofessional employee that she was , that just made her start yelling even more . This RUDE & INCONSIDERATE Employees name is AMANDA. I've never been treated so poorly at any public place in my life ! As I went back to the front to explain what had happened , the lady up front even tried to reason with Amanda to open up one of the showers but instead of being any kind of decent, rational individual she started to explain her side of the story which was all switched up and not the truth at all. I unfortunately didn't get the lady working as the cashier in the store that was very polite and tried to help me out with my situation but Thank You I used to love coming to Alamo/Petro especially when I needed to pay for a shower very very sad as I will never be coming back again for anything & I don't recommend it to others due to how I was treated also Its very unprofessional that it's not mandatory for their employees to be wearing their name tags on shift !
