I have been wanting to try this truck for 2 years. Between my work schedule and timing, it never worked out. Finally yesterday was the day and I was able to find the truck outside Stony Lake Brewing company in Saline. The other customers said there usually is a line and there wasn't at all just other customers waiting for their order. There is a lot to choose from and I really love lobster. I've long wanted to try this truck. Saw the Shark Tank story. Told my mom, sometimes you have to pay for quality. Tried it at 2025 Arts Eats Beats. Extremely disappointing. I told the workers, I don't blame them, they are working hard. Tried it at an food truck event in Wayne. The outside of the truck was extremely dirty. I paid $37 + tip for one clam chowder and a Connecticut roll. The lobster was cooked ok, but it is pictured with a lemon. It could have used it and maybe a mini cup of melted butter would have been nice. The chowder had tons of clams(a little on the tough side) but could have used more seasoning and it was not very warm either. I started eating by the truck then took the roll home and gave it butter and sprinkled on a little celery salt, then it was phenomenal. I'm had read about this truck. It was in Ann Arbor on a Monday evening in the parking lot of an apartment complex. I am rarely on that side of town, but Wayz told me to turn on Pauline and there was the truck! It was meant to be. At 6 pm only a handful of people ahead of me. I ordered a Maine roll and a side of lobster bisque. I was told it would be ready in 5-7 minutes. Th Maine roll comes cold with Mayo, the Connecticut roll is hot with butter. Lobster grilled cheese, lobster tail, lobster quesadilla crab rolls, and some sides in addition to the one I ordered. It was ready in about 10 minutes. I took it home and unwrapped all my goodies. The lobster roll was tasty, although it is quite small. The lobster bisque had some small pieces of lobster in it but flavorful. We have been following this food truck on FB and the reviews were pretty good, so when it came to Ann Arbor tonite, at Zingerman's Creamery we decided to give it a try. I must say we were not disappointed. Not knowing how long the lines might be, we elected to use their app to order ahead, which worked out perfectly. We arrived a little ahead of our scheduled pickup time, but they accommodated us and had our order ready. We tried the "Connecticut" which was served warm with butter and lemon on a buttery toasted New England roll. The lobster portions was generous and the lobster was fresh and very tasty. We also had the "Maine" which is served chilled with a little mayo, lemon also on a toasted New England roll. There were picnic tables available with some umbrellas so that was nice, and despite the extreme heat at 95 degrees, there was a breeze. Seafood is expensive these days, so don't be shocked by the price, IMO, the quality of the lobster and portions were worth it. By the time we left there was a line forming at the truck. They have a great marketing team with a huge food truck, big screen tv's on the side, and even fancier branded cardboard containers. Then you open the fancy box and....wah wah....let down. This food truck kept coming up in my facebook feed at all the locations near me, stopped by at the location in Novi right inside the subdivision, a few people in line the guy taking the order was nice food was ready in about 10 min, while we waited we went to grab some tiny donuts from the truck next to them, kept us busy while we waited. I had to find out what all the fuss was about! I had been wanting to try this food truck for quite some time so I was excited that they now come to Brooks, my favorite local brewery. The first time they were here, they had a line around the building. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they were very quick, once you've ordered. They have been coming to Brooks on the third Thursday of the month. From 5-10pm. Yesterday they were on Rochester from 11-3 then at Brooks 5-10. I was very tempted to go to both. Haha. The first time I ordered the Main Lobster Roll. This is served cold with some mayo. I chose this one over the Connecticut lobster roll (which is served warm with butter and lemon) because I was not really that hungry and planned to take it home. But... I wanted a taste. So I took a bite and ate the whole thing. So I guess I liked it hahha! Yesterday was my second time ordering from them. This time I got the Lobster bisque and the Lobster Quesadilla. Umm... It was incredible!! This was the best Lobster Bisque I have ever had! The serving was big enough to fill me up. I only ate 1/4 of my quesadilla because I was full. Pro tip, dip your quesadilla or lobster grilled cheese in the bisque. You're welcome. One thing I noticed was that people driving by saw the truck and made u turns into the brewery. The brewery gets packed when they are there! They get a lot of first time customers that say they never even knew the brewery was there! That's how much of a crowd this truck brings in. Another tip: download the app. Now that it's getting chilly, you can order on the app and stay nice and warm inside enjoying your beer. They will send you a notification that your food is ready and you just go out and get it. Super convenient, and you can walk past the long line of people who are freezing. As others have said, the wait here can be pretty long. But I think that's more a product of the larger crowds than their prep themselves because once you order it doesn't take long to get it. The staff was really nice and friendly, too, so I think they hustled as hard as they could. The truck is flashy with their video screens and ordering system and their menu is clear and easy to order from. The video on the screen is kind of fun to watch once you get closer to order, too. But until that point I was definitely uncomfortably sweltering in the sun. As for the food, it was pretty good but I don't know if I'd be game to spend the $$ again. After being in business for several months and evading me, I finally found this food truck. I love lobster rolls and was looking forward to biting into a nice buttery, meaty sandwich. I was lucky in that there was not a large crowd when I got here so I didn't have to wait too long to get my food. I'm glad they distinguish between the Connecticut and Maine rolls because I much prefer warm lobster vs cold. I literally ordered 2 rolls and they were $26.50 EACH (they used to cost under $20 when they first opened). I get that lobster is expensive and inflation is not helping, but goodness I can get a whole lobster at most restaurants for that price. To add insult to injury, these rolls were not terribly large even though they did give us a decent amount of meat per roll. Despite these complaints I found my lobster roll to be absolutely delicious and it makes me want to come back and try other menu items later. The guys who work this truck are also very nice and friendly, so much so that they threw in a whoopie pie for free. I'd been waiting to try the Cousins Maine Lobster Truck, so I was happy when I learned it would be in my area on a night I was free to try it. Their menu is clearly marked, and there are a variety of items. I chose the Connecticut roll and a cup of the clam chowder. The location I was at didn't have many people at the time I was there, so I only waited about 5 minutes for my order. The chowder was very good, and I was happy with the amount of seafood in it. The lobster roll was also really good. I really appreciate that they offer the Connecticut roll because I don't like Mayo so a lot of the time I cant order one.
