Cove Wellness is a true Hidden Gem. I went for the infrared sauna & I was impressed with the actual sauna & with the experience. Covid precautions are followed great here so I felt very safe. For the infrared sauna experience, you get a private & tranquil room for an hour. You are a provided a Jade eye mask that I highly recommend wearing during your session. They also provide you with Spa water & tons of towels so there's no need to pack one. I do recommend bringing your earphones to zen out to your own meditation playlist or podcast. I used a Groupon at Cove Wellness La Jolla and received excellent treatment and courtesy from "Lisa" an experienced Colon Therapy professional. This was my first "Colonic" and she explained the process very well. I was a little nervous, but she keep me relaxed. It took about an hour. I arrived 15 minutes early and was able to start within minutes. The office is not advertised from outside, but it is unit 202 in the building, which is all you need to know to find it. I heard electro lymphatic drainage is great to help recover after surgery. So I booked an appointment at Cove Wellness. The spa is very nice and clean, stuff super friendly and knowledgeable. Cove Wellness has an amazing infrared bed. It is both relaxing and healing, not to mention that you burn between 400 to 600 calories just laying there. Cove Wellness is great, I used to go and hadn't been in a while but went back and remembered how much I love the service and treatment.

I found Cove Wellness Lymphatic Clinic by chance. After suffering with debilitating lymphedema for over four years I decided to give lymphatic drainage a try. Although I had gone to several doctors over the years (allergist, dermatologists, immunologist) no one ever mentioned the word lymphatic to me. After one session with the Lymph Purify Instrument the change in my legs was remarkable. I am able to walk again without pain and discomfort, almost feel like I could actually run again. I went back for several more sessions of the lymphatic drainage and I feel sensational. Wish I had known about Cove Wellness sooner. I cannot recommend the Lymph Purify treatment and the caring therapists enough. My results have been extraordinary. read more

OH. MY. GOSH. If I could give this place 1/2 a star I would not hesitate for one moment to do so. I agree with Valisha B (review on 10/11) - this place is certainly not worth a visit with or without a Groupon. Here's our story: after calling four times to make an appointment, leaving messages and not receiving a return phone call until we informed them that we had in fact called three times prior, someone finally called us back and scheduled our Groupon for Heated Stone Massages. I knew when I sized up my masseuse (Byron) that I was not going to get the massage I expect from a spa. He was small in stature, not muscular, and somewhat annoyed with the fact that he had a job to do. My husband's "masseuse", Pam, on the other hand, let the hot rocks rest on his legs long enough to leave two upper-thigh burns that lasted two days (even after he told her they were too hot and she replied, "they're supposed to be". Niiiiice.) And, along with leaving him with burns, Pam also failed to actually massage any part of his body, which left us both bewildered, as the Groupon stated "Hot Stone MASSAGE". Hmmmm. So, as you can imagine, we will not be returning to this so-called "Spa" again and really hope that this review deters others from having a disappointing visit, as a spa is supposed to help you relax and this one did anything but. Their ionic/detox foot bath was effective, but their prices are rather steep ($85 per session when I can buy the machine new for $1700) which I, in part, want to attribute to their LJ Cove location. Suffice to say that I will never go back for this sort of treatment. Two ladies as the spa advsied me tha I could go to work immediately after with no problem. I initially visited Cove Wellness on a Groupon deal in mid-2010. Although I live in North County SD, I thought the discounted price was initiative enough to make the drive. Although other reviewers have hastily mentioned having to wait to get an appointment, I scheduled my visit very easily. I spoke with Lisa via phone, and she was exceptionally personable and helpful. I was a few minutes late to my appointment as I had a very hard time finding parking (don't procrastinate, like me, and get there at a respectable time!) and was informed that they could still see me. I considered this generous as it was my fault for showing up late. Lisa was just as kind in person as she was over the phone. After a couple of minutes of conversing, she suggested I slightly alter my treatment to one more specifically designed for me (I have fibromyalgia, and they have a very systematic was of helping syndromes of this nature). The treatment went very well; and, after such a great visit, I made another appointment. I was enticed to try the suggested colon therapy, as well as another lymphatic treatment. Lisa was my therapist for lymph drainage, but not for the colon irrigation. She was SO friendly during the session and made me feel more than comfortable. We exchanged some very pleasant conversation and I must say: IT COULD NOT HAVE GONE BETTER! After the two therapies, I was feeling rejuvenated and happy. So to wrap it up, I have made Cove Wellness my destination for multiple wellness therapies and don't plan on going anywhere else! With a genuinely caring and compassionate staff, great options and prices, and a lovely location, there is no reason to search further than Cove Wellness to better your health. I have to say I would have given a 5 Star if it wasn't for this last episode. Annie (the employee is amazing), however Lisa the Owner is extremely rude, unprofessional and a little different. My initial meeting with Cove Wellness was over a year ago when I purchased a colonix from Groupon for my daughter and I, and the service at that time was with Annie. It was a little hard to find, but we found it and had to wait for about 20 minutes until someone greeted us. Ok, no problem... but we thought we were on Punk'd or something because of the wait. But we met Annie and she was caring, welcoming and very sweet. This was a first for us, so we didnt know what to expect. Because of Annie, I decided to make another appointment with her about 5 weeks ago for my daughter and I. We were both excited to revisit her and unfortunately, I wasnt sure what time the appt was and the problems began. Because our appt was on Saturday, June 8th, I started calling on Thursday. I called a number of times only to get the answering machine. No return call. The answering machine says the hours on Saturday are 8am to 2pm. I called Thursday, Friday and 9 times on June 8th starting at 8:02am. She called me back at 10:13am stating our appt is at 10:15. I explained that I left 9 msgs since 8:02 as we did not want to miss our appts and Lisa stated, well its your appointment and you are suppose to be responsible for keeping your appt. Wow.... Not what I expected as I had left a number of messages with no return call. She became angry, argumentative and hung up on me. I called back and said what was that about.... She did not respond. I said well what time is our next appt, and she said 11:15. I said ok, see you then. She then called me back 10 minutes later, as I was driving from Eastlake to La Jolla and said she wasn't up for dealing with my negative vibes, its all my fault I didn't make my appt and she would have to pay for the missed appt. I said I was trying to make it to our appts, but you never responded. She said she came in at 9am and was just checking her messages at 10:05am. She told me not to come back & call Living Social (who I bought 3 more) certificates for future use, and get a credit. WOW... Not sure what planet she comes from, but if you are lucky enough to get Annie.... You'll may or may not be happy.. Personally I rebooked because of her, Annie if you ever go out on your own.... please keep my number handy. Thanks. Like I said if you read the reviews.... I first came here years ago only trying hydrotherapy once. As of recent, I have been getting hydrotherapy therapy sessions every other week and found it to be of great help. If you want to detox, resolve any GI issues, have more energy, or just have an overall sense of wellbeing and feeling 'light' I recommend this place to the utmost degree! I purchased the Groupon for a reflexology treatment and foot bath. I called 2 weeks before it was going to expire and they had no availability. The lady on the phone made it seem like it was my fault, but this was after 3 weeks of calling without any answer. Anyway, she booked me 2 months later and I was able to still redeem my Groupon as if it had not expired yet. The place is small, but clean and nice.
