Don't be fooled by their pricing for boarding. They say they charge $15, $17 or $19 dollars per day for boarding, but that is not for a 24 hour day time frame. For example if you drop off your dog at 2 pm and pick them up at 2 pm the next day then you will be charged for 2 full days of "boarding". Sorry, but that is a rip off tactic. If you are going to advertise a daily boarding rate that uses that strategy then just be up from about it and tell me that the 24 hours worth of care is technically going to be $34 not $17. This is too bad because it is a nice facility, but I don't care for the false advertising. I will not be going back to their facility. read more

I love my dog but had an emergency and had to drop her off for a couple of days ...picked her up with a large gash on her fore head and the staff played if off like they had no clue on what I was talking about . Im sure the gash was bleeding and cant say they put anything on it ,nor called me to report any incident .they didnt write anything on her report, she is in the puppy program and was not suppose to play with any other dogs just staff .all they said was "oh her hair will grow back over it " which was not the point! I brought my dog here a few years ago for a one night stay. When we went in for a tour of the facility and to go over costs, I had no worries; the employee was very friendly and helpful. We paid quite a bit of money for the stay, grooming, treats, and extra one-on-one time outside of the kennel for our dog. When we picked her up the next morning, the owner was yelling at two employees for neglecting the dogs and not taking them out of the kennels. It was incredibly uncomfortable because one, the owner really should have been discussing issues with employees in private, not screaming at them in front of customers, and two, did we pay all that extra money for our dog to be neglected? Another woman, I believe it was a groomer, brought our dog out. She said absolutely nothing to us, handed us the leash, and walked away. Really? No feedback about our dog's stay or anything? When we got into the car, we noticed quite a few cuts on our dog from the grooming. Perhaps our dog was anxious and difficult to shave? I'm not sure, but if the groomer had spoken to us about the experience or explained the cuts, I'd probably feel better about this place but because of their lack of communication and professionalism and the fact that they obviously do not always let the dogs out, I would never take my dog here again nor would I recommend this place to anyone. read more

Winner, a rescue cockapoo, has been a guest at Coventry Pet Resort over his entire five year life. When pulling into the Coventry driveway Winner emotes with tail wagging that is uncontrollable. He's been pampered by Tanya when groomed; ushered into the playground (now featuring a slide) during day-care with his mates like Stanley; or cared for with genuine hospitality and love by the boarding crew. Kevin recently made an unexpected stay possible when space was tight and I was taken to the hospital. They will over charge you for any of their services or products. The owners will likely talk down to you and act disgusted if your pup is anything less than show dog quality trained. However, they will treat your dog very well. Safety and supervision are top notch, and the staff that works in back with the animals will play with and care for your pup like he/she is their own. read more

I boarded my dog here about a year ago. I didn't have time to get a tour of the facilities before I left so I just hoped and prayed everything would be alright. I left a mini luggage bag with a blanket and a toy for him so he could have something that smelled like home. I rescued him from the dog pound and had never boarded him before so my fear was that he would think he was at the pound again and that I wasnt coming back. So I went on my trip. Two or three days later I was back to pick him up, he had just been groomed. But before they brought him to me I wanted a tour. They seemed a little off put that I had asked. But they took me back, and what I saw really upset me. It was a little scary. There was a dirty plastic jungle gym that creeped me out. The gated area where the big dogs stay looked like a prison. The little rooms for the small dogs were kind of decent, but not inviting. I found out later that I had to pay extra for my dog to be able to play with other dogs, but that the staff supposedly played with him for a few hours each day. I like to think that they actually did. So after my disappointing tour, they took me to the cage where my dog was, in the grooming area, and instead of being happy to see me he wouldn't even look at me. Between that and the horrific tour, I felt terrible that I left him there. And for so long. Which was to their benefit because I bought treats from them to give him out of guilt. He wouldn't even eat them. It wasn't until hours after we got home that he was back to his usual self. And to make it worse, I forgot his little luggage and no one called to tell me. It had his name and my phone number on it. It was days later when I realized and I said just forget it. I didn't want to go back and be reminded of what I subjected my dog to. I take him to Ruff House Pet Resort in Riverside now for boarding and day care and he loves it. I can watch him from their web cam on my iPad, and the dogs spend more time in the play yard than they do in thier suites or kennels. read more

I left my dog here for a week while on vacation. I called to check up on her during her stay and let the person on the phone know that my dog usually has a difficult time eating all her food but she assured me that she was eating all her food and adapting well. However, on the last day when I was picking up my dog that did not appear to be the case. My dog looked very weak and her ribs and spine were showing. She was 56 pounds and when we weighed her after her stay, she was 46 pounds. My dog is a very active and energetic dog and since we took her home she has been very lethargic and flinching when I touch her, she just doesn't seem the same at all since staying here. I called to get some information as to what happened and found out that in fact she barely ate any of her food. I don't understand why the place could not have given me a call or communicate in any way to me the situation especially since I already told them this might be an issue, and we could've worked out some way to help feed her or even leave her food out longer than usual so she has a chance to finish it. The people here seemed pretty nice from what I could see, I just wish they would've had better communication with me. All I would say is if you have a dog that just nibbles or doesn't usually eat all their food at a set time this might not be the best option for overnight staying for them. read more

I took my cat here a few years ago to get him groomed, since he had a lot of mats. When I came back to pick him up, they said that he was a huge pain in the ass and so aggressive that they couldn't finish clipping his nails. When I saw the bill, it was $75!! $75 to do what? Shave a cat? This being the first groomer I've taken him to, I assumed all groomers charged that much. This place made me feel reluctant about going anywhere! I took him to Pet Salon in Mentone, and she did the EXACT same thing and only charged me $30. She was also only to clip his nails (he's had only back claws since I've owned him) with no problem... I took my cat here for his first grooming ever. When I came to pick him up (one hour after they left a message that he was ready) the groomer came out and asked if I would put him in his carrier, because she was afraid of him. She said he had been just fine until she cleaned his ears right before I got there, and when she came back to put him in his carrier, he looked threatening. When I went to get him, his ears were straight back on his head and he was in a defensive posture. He went easily into his cat carrier, which he never does, even when I pick him up from the vet. It wasn't until I got him home that I saw a nick of bare skin on top of his head. I don't know what happened, and they offered no explanation. If he was ready to go one hour before I got there, why was she just cleaning his ears when I got there? I think it was a flimsy cover story for why he was acting so traumatized. read more

After a miserable boarding experience at another local kennel, we were very hesitated boarding our two dogs. After reading reviews and getting a tour of the facility, we decided to give Coventry a try. We left our two babies (a Boston terrier and a Doberman Pincher) for a little over two weeks hoping that they would be well taken care of. When we picked them up we were surprised; both dogs were extremely happy and clean!! Even my 100 pound Doberman!! We didn't have to go back to get the dogs like we usually do at other kennels. The staff came out with each dog on their leash. It is quite obvious that they were loved and well taken care of during their stay. We will definitely be returning customers. This was our first time visiting Coventry and the third pet grooming salon we visited to get a third opinion because our our 4 month Maltese pomeranian poodle mix was all matted up and the only result was to shave him to a naked pink puppy. Of course we would have done what was best for him even to shave him all the way down and start over again, so our intention going to Coventry was for teddy to be shaven completely. When we got there we were immediately welcomed by the receptionists who were more than helpful and knowledgeable about any questions we had about our appointment and any other questions we had. We expressed our concerns and they said that the stylist will meet with us shortly! Our dog had a stylist! Her name was Carrie (I am not sure how she spells her name) but she was more than willing to help us with our concerns of having a naked "rat" and said what no other pet groomers had said before "I can try to get these de matted and get you the style you want, but if I can't he will have to be shaven." And with that we felt comfortable and knew we were leave him in good hands. Before we left they gave us a tour of their facility and it was a wonderful touch to get us to know the place. Then we left and I mentally prepared for a naked pink puppy when we will go pick him up. We returned and the door opened with an astonishing job on our dog! She got out the matts and did such a great job on the style! We were very happy and knew this was a place that cared for the dog first of all and the owners. This facility genuinely tries and is not looking for a quick buck. We will be coming back to this business and will bring our other dog too! I've been bringing my pets to Coventry for 6-7 years now. Last month I called to book several dates into January. Usually I buy the extras (play times, baths, etc) but this time I chose not to take them and maybe add them later. I was a taken aback when "Gene" called me back to tell they were booked for December and January already?!?! Immediately I called another Kennel and was able to book the dates I needed without any problems whatsoever. Our mid sized, 2 1/2 yo dog Mixie stays here whenever we're out of town, 3 to 4 times a year. She never has anxiety with the place or people, just with the super smooth floor at the check-in desk. She does fine once she's back on regular floors. She has stayed from 2 to 6 nights. No feeding problems & she comes home happy. When we pick her up, the person who brings her to us always gives a little run down of how she did or if there were any problems or concerns. I wish that play time didn't cost extra, but with their competitive base rate, can afford to add play times. I like that each kennel is an indoor/outdoor run, not a single dog-sized crate. They can go out in the sun or relax inside. I'd only change boarding places for a kennel-free open place that was also reasonably priced. read more

I have been bringing my Yorkie here and only here for 6 years. (for grooming) From the first time I brought my baby here I loved it. They are so attentive and you can tell they love the animals too! I recently adopted another dog who is really really afraid of people and they did so well with her. The only thing I don't like is the inconsistent pricing. I don't know how they do it but I get the same thing every time for my dog and sometimes there's up to a $15 difference in charge. Usually I say something and they put it back down but I don't know what's going on. Aside from that I've never boarded here so I have no comment on that side of the business. read more

The staff was very friendly, the boarding affordable. My dog was taken care of, fed, and groomed, during her 6 day stay. But, she came home exhausted, traumatized, and with a slight cough. I will say she's a puppy, spoiled and untrained. The staff were all very nice to her when I was there, but clearly didn't like how unruly she was by the end. I thought it would be like dog camp, but I get the sense it was more like dog prison. I'll never leave her again. read more

I am new to YELP but have used Coventry Pet Resort for about 5 years for their boarding, grooming services as well as their wide range of Blue Buffalo brand food products; which is what they use for their 'house' food. My schnauzer mix now uses this brand and their prices are much more affordable than Petco. I like that Coventry breaks out their additional one on one time. Every pet is different; some need daily exercise and one on one time and others don't! Having the option of their grooming services allows for my pet to be pampered just before I pick him up! Every employee that I've ever been in contact with via phone or at the front desk has been not only professional and informed but also shows such love and caring for all their fury guests! I have recommended this resort to several friends who now use their variety of services and highly recommend them. read more

Since my first review, we have taken Gypsy, my samoyed here once a month and they do a gorgeous job with her white coat. We have a yard that is 1/3 dirt, her favorite part and grass, so it takes a lot to whiten a brownish white dog. They have also groomed my pomeranians and always write notes about what good girls they were. My dogs are happy to go there and are treated well. They even put lovely pink ribbon vegetable dye stencils on Gypsy for the Believe Walk to fight cancer every year. We also had Gypsy stay over the weekend while I went out of town. It was reasonable and Gypsy got playtime everyday and she came home happy and healthy. read more

This place is absolutely wonderful! I love going into a local family business that has passion and cares as much about animals as I do. Ever since I moved to Redlands, I have been coming here for all my pet needs. The staff is always smiling and has an educated answer for any of your questions. Believe me I always have questions! I have an English Mastiff with allergies to almost all bagged foods on the market and they have gone above and beyond finding us great quality food. We also bring our mastiff here for all her grooming needs. Right when my dog walks through the door she gets what I feel a VIP service. Daycare is great here. My dog, who was very shy and timid, really came out of his shell thanks to the daycare program here. Also, I always got to take home ridiculous and funny pictures around each holiday. Kim, the woman who runs the daycare, is awesome. Grooming experience is what brings them down one star. For as many recommendations I received for coventry kennels i was highly disappointed. When first arriving to the "pet resort" the front office staff was so preoccupied that I stood waiting at the front counter for half an hour, part of that time was waiting on the owner to return after ducking into the back for "just a quick second" For being my first time at the kennel, I was not adequately acquainted to and explained the charges of the facility and how things worked. When I went to pick my dog up the cost was over double what I had been expecting. When I questioned the cost and explained the situation, the manager told me in the nicest way possible "there's nothing we CAN do about it." I feel the more appropriate word to be used would be "will." The next time I decided to board my dog, I chose to go elsewhere. They asked for verification of my dogs Bordetella vaccination (which was done at Coventry). Coventry then refused to give written proof of my dogs vaccination at their facility, causing me to re-vaccinate my dog . . cost and all. I personally feel that if they are going to give a vaccination for which I paid for, I should receive written proof of it Though my dog was taken care of over the weekend, the bad business practices, poor communication, cost and frustrations caused makes this kennel not worth it. In 2019 I needed to board my pet over Christmas. I've been there before, many times and never had any trouble getting a reservation. The man taking reservations said he'd get back to me. He Never did and I had to go elsewhere which I didn't want to do. Now this year, 2021, I needed to board my pet while I was having surgery. I requested a reservation and the same man said again, he'd get back to me and Never did. I again had to look elsewhere. Two and three years ago, you could call and they would get back to you the same day. What Has Happened To You, Coventry? You used to be Reliable. This is No way to run a long running and well known business! We are Very Disappointed with you. It's Very Inconsiderate to tell someone you'll get back to them and leave them hanging. We have plane and hotel reservations to make and we Need To Know our pets will be cared for and Can Not wait til the last minute to find a place to care for them. Please Please get your act back together!! Many animal lovers Need your business to care for their furry family members. You should have layouts of your kennels on paper and mark off ones that are reserved, and a list of who is occupying a kennel and when. There is no reason this information should not be available immediately when someone calls to book a reservation with you. Every other place we have called can tell us while on the phone if they have room for our pets. If you have a shortage of staff, you can surely get by with just a few people to put food and fresh water down for the animals. A dog won't die if he doesn't get to run around for a day or two. Please be the Responsible pet resort you were several years ago who we could trust and rely on. PLEASE, WE NEED YOU BACK!!! read more

These guys are incredible! They have a wonderful setup in the back for boarding and day care, with activities and tender loving care that my puppy absolutely loves. The puppy package is great. Their punch card system is also wonderful, where you purchase day care days "in bulk" and then all you have to do is to drop off and pick up your dog without having to worry to pay each time. The only downside is that their reception area is very, very small and cramped so if several dogs and owners are there all at once to pick up or drop off, it can be a little chaotic. read more

Corey did an amazing job on my cat Phoenix. He's a very calm cat but his fur was just too much (turkish angora) and I'm about to have surgery. They got me an appointment quickly within a week and Corey their cat groomer seemed very nice, she asked all about Phoenix if he's ever been groomed and bathed I let her know I bathe him and he does well but I only towel dry him so she said she would take her time with the blow dry so it won't scare him and let me know it would be about 3 hours. Almost exactly 3 hours later they called me to come get him Corey said he's a very well adjusted cat and did very well. He's very soft and clean (he's prone to dandruff so he needed a good bath) she followed my wishes exactly, trim him down to the length of a short haired cat but leave his tail long, exactly what I got and very good price $65 for a bath, nails cut, haircut, and blowdry on a cat! Phoenix came home just as calm as he went in not freaked out at all no crying, no nicks or cuts, just perfect. Will be back! read more

The first time I took my dog every thing was great. The next time they forgot to trip several nails and when I called back to say I was bringing her back they said that it must be that I wanted them cut shorter and I said no they were not cut and all. Once I brought her in that reintegrated that I wanted them trimmed down more than the had. I said nothing this time but was feeling put out that they refused to acknowledge that they may have neglected to cut them. When they brought her out they did apologize that they had not been cut. This was an honest mistake but their defensive attitude was not good customer service. But I still believed in them so I brought her back. I had an 8 am spot which was the first appointment for the day. They said that she'd be ready in about an hour or so. Two hours and I showed up to get her. She was still not ready. I used to bring two dogs and it took two hours at a small shop with one person so I know it takes an hour or less per dog. I think something went wrong with their schedule but I know it did not take two hours for my dog. I expect them to start on her when she arrives and not an hour or more later. If that's the case they are booking too many dogs at the same time. By the time I went to get her she was shaking and upset herself. I won't go back. And I gave no tip. Maybe it was just an off day or a new person. But for me I'm done. read more

I have always gotten my dogs food in Los Angeles cause I worked out there...when I stopped working out there I had to find a new place to get her food. She's a bit picky so I called to make sure they had what I needed they said yes so I started buying from here. When I went the first time they took all my info asking what proteins she eats and how often I buy the food so I gave them all this info and they told me that they would order based on what the card said which was every month 2-3lb bags of primal nuggets either chicken, beef or duck....so I started going in and they always had something available even if wasn't what I usually give her. So on Saturday February 3 I go in to get her her monthly food, they have chicken but no beef so I asked them is it possible to order a duck and chicken on for me on Monday which is when they place their orders she said sure! So I call Wednesday February 7th to see if the food came in Tuesday like they said it would and they tell me oh we are sorry it says it's on the order but it's not here....she tells me I'll contact my vendor and replace an order next Monday February 12th and it will be here by the 14th for sure! So I say ok that's fine we bought her a beef one so that will last me two weeks....I didn't call on the 14th because got busy with work so Saturday February 17th I go in to get my dog her food because now she will be officially out as of the 18th. Because I didn't call I just go straight to their freezer section and notice they have No nuggets so I ask at the front and tell them that they told me they would order it so they go check at their storage next door and they come back and say no they didn't order it and they don't have anything. At this point I am frustrated because you told me for two weeks you would order they food and for two weeks it slips your mind!!! So we left and had to make the drive to LA to get my dog her food because I couldn't find it anywhere. Super disappointed because the girls who work the front desk are always super sweet but now I unfortunately can not rely on them for my food source like they made it seem like you could...thankfully my LA pet store found me a new vendor in the same area a few blocks away who has a program set up online that you can order from yourself and they deliver to the pet store for you, so now I know my orders will be actually placed and I won't have to do another 2-1/2 hour trip again! read more

This place seems to get a lot of good reviews for grooming. However if you read the ones were people are using it for an overnight stay for any length of time they're not that good. Our dogs went in with no fleas they came back with fleas. They also both had kennel cough and we're waiting for the results of a test to find out if one of ours now has worms. I can't recommend this place to anybody for an overnight stay. Like I said before the groomers may be excellent but I'm not really ever going to put my dogs in that situation again as far as an overnight stay. read more
