Avoid at all costs. Rushed through my battery replacement (I say "rushed" as in didn't inspect the other failed parts), I got on the road back home and my power steering locked up, transmission disengaged, and I coasted to the side of SH-29. After a tow, the lady didn't even hint that it could be their fault. Either way, I had to buy a plane ticket back home. Covert Ford Lincoln has one saving grace and it's their service manager. She owned up to their mistake, and comped the fix. I wish her the best. I will not be returning ever as the battery replacement took 2 hours and the rest of the service was terrible. read more

After 1:30 the rep (Austin) came up to me as said "2 more people are in front of you and it will be another 2 hours." Shady company. Watch the dollar amounts on the contract that they give you. They listed the price that we agreed on, but under that, near the TT&L amounts, they added a line for $300 for "theft prevention", or something similar. When I asked what that was, the sales rep said that was for the VIN number etching on the window. I said I didn't agree to that, and that she needed to remove $300. She said that we should go look to see if it's even on the windshield. Sure enough, it wasn't. Now, if they don't regularly put that on the contract without doing the etching why would she have thought to check the window. They also didn't clean the inside of the Truck (I bought used). Wow, I was surprised at how crappy this place is. I went this morning for a SCHEDULED oil change. I got there a few minutes early, sat in my vehicle for 30 minutes after being told by several people that it will be a minute. Then I was told that they would have it in and out, I asked for a definition on in and out, was told that it would be about an hour and 45 minutes. AN HOUR AND 45 MINUTES FOR A SCHEDULED OIL CHANGE!! I have had my oil changed at a different dealership for 6 years, not a single issue. You schedule it, and they change your oil in typically 45 minutes. A few years ago I almost bought a truck here, but went elsewhere due to the bait and switch. Just made an appointment at Riata Ford and I'm sure they will have me in and out(45-60 minutes). read more

Purchased new Ford Escape with 7 miles from Covert in March of 2018. Current mileage sits at 7,124 and we have been in 5 times for repairs to GPS / sync module to our GPS feature, which is a several thousand dollar package upgrade. This feature has stopped working a few months after purchase and has been rendered useless on the vehicle. 'Repairs' have been made, unsuccessfully, every time. We have been given the run around as to which repairs have been done and told 'it's fixed and working perfectly' every time we have picked it up. Taken multiple days off work, used sick leave/loss of pay to deal with issue and no resolution has been offered besides let replace the exact same thing we supposedly replaced last week. read more

Just another sheisty car dealer. They were okay during the sale, but horrible afterwards. They wouldn't honor XM radio on my brand new ford. they said it sat on their lot too long and the XMradio had expired. After speaking to XM they stated to me the trial subscription begins the day of purchase not when the dealer receives the car and puts it up for sale on the lot. This is just one issue I had with Covert Ford and every time there was an issue their response was "it would be easier for us if...." after even speaking with Kenny Covert his response was the same "it would be easier for us if..." so i guess they are not interested in what may be more convenient for the customer or "easier." ill also add I gave them a perfect survey thinking it would work in my favor if I did have any issues afterwards, boy was I wrong, I cant imagine the hurdles I would have had to jump through had I did. read more

Well, it's been THREE weeks and we have not heard from you. I guess we should not be surprised based on our past experience. I went to Covert Ford to buy a new vehicle. Covert wanted to sale me the vehicle for 30% over MSRP. They said it was a market premium they were charging due to high demand and current market conditions. They said this particular vehicle was so hard to find that no other dealers had them. So I made them an offer over MSRP but less than they wanted and it wasn't enough so I start leave. Which is when the games rally began. In the end tThey wanted me to make an offer that they could shop around for 3 or 4 days to see if they could get a better offer. I refused to play this game and allow them to leverage my offer to get a better offer. So, I left and went to another Ford dealer and guess what. The other dealer had more choices for this particular vehicle and did not request a market premium. I saved nearly $15,000 and I got what I wanted. Apparently, price gouging and lying is an acceptable practice at Covert Ford in Austin. read more

This place is awful and in my experience flat out lies to customers. I saw an online ad for an older Toyota Corolla and made an appointment to test drive it. When I got there, I found that the car was completely mislabeled online, for ex: the ad said the car was a manual transmission, it was an automatic, the ad said it had a CD player, that player was broken. The car wasn't even cleaned when I got there and the salesman told me that it hadn't been through their service department yet. They just got the car and threw it straight online trying to flip it. HERE's where things get BAD. The car drove alright and me and the salesman, Bob Nadeau, agreed on a price on the condition that I could have it inspected before money went through. He agreed and told me that their service department would look at it and if there were major problems they didn't want to fix, the deal would be off. The next day, Bob called me and said everything was fine, I called Auto PI and they went out and found serious problems with the transmission, $1,500 repair at best, several thousands at worst. When I called Bob Nadeau back, he wouldn't even acknowledge the problem and said "we sell old cars as is," never mind the fact that his service department was supposed to catch such a big problem and call of the deal once they found it. So when I expressed frustration and told him that I felt his dealership had wasted my time and the money I paid to have the car inspected he hung up on me. Such childish behavior. So at best, this place is incompetent, and at worst they're flat out thieves. STAY AWAY! read more

I received another temporary license plate from them 2 days after the second temporary license plate expired. Third one is expiring on 5/22/21. I reached out to the sale person that issued the third temporary license plate, who said he was going to resolve this issue within the week the temporary license plate was issued. Two weeks later I still have not heard back from this Jacob Gomez guy, left him several voice messages and text messages, still no response. Contact the dealer yesterday (5/18) and spoke to another used sale manager, Gilberto, who said he would look into this and call me back by the end of the day...Guess what? No call again. I called this morning (5/19) and they told me Gilberto is out till Friday. This car dealership is horrible at communication and love to give you the ran around. Horrible service and horrible staffs. This review is only for the used car sales department. The bad reviews are true and I had hoped that since the GM Carlos was taking time to answer the bad reviews, maybe people were being too harsh. This place should be avoided if buying a used car. Went into test drive a Expedition and someone had been using for a personal car. Sports gear in the back and dirty. I was told this was normal demo procedure so I let it go. Car had well over 1,000 more miles than listed on website. But still I pushed on. Car was a possibility for me so went into sales talk. Brad the sales guy brought on the classic sleazy car sales man charm. Told me the car was accidentally under priced and someone was going to be in trouble. I asked if they could move on price and again he said they were losing money on the deal. All BS in my opinion. Had he simply said the car is priced aggressively and we have to hold I might have bought. I hate being lied too. He mentioned price would go up by that afternoon and low and behold it's still the same a day later. Drove to San Antonio and bought the same car, in better shape with less miles from a transparent sales person. Avoid this place and go elsewhere. I knew something was up when they said the multi inspection is not performed until after you buy the car hahaha that'll put a buyer at ease when possibly spending 74k on a Lexus SUV. Never heard of something like this in my life. You buy, they take their time on fixing (or not fixing) all that was noted. I have to say this was one of the most disappointing experiences I've had purchasing a car. I made contact and communicated with a manager in the used car sales department. I wasn't notified that I had been handed off to someone else and that person contacted me promptly however I felt as if I had to start the whole process over ...again. I had the vehicle picked out, pre-approval and financing w my credit union already lined up and made an appointment to test drove the car. Went in the next day, negotiated briefly and then ...waited... 6 long hours. I had to go back the next day to pick up a something I had asked them to remove from my trade in and put in on my new purchase (license plate border). Went back the next day to find that they were closed on Saturday..which is my fault, I could have called ahead of time. So, I make another trip back to retrieve the license plate border and the spare key fob. Key fob isn't at that location it's at the other location on 183 and Lamar. So I go to the other location (which everyone seemed to be too busy to see if they could offer assistance) the next day to meet my contact and retrieve the spare key fob..only to find out my contact is out and won't be back for a few days and no one knows where the spare key fob is. After much searching and phone calls they figure out the spare had been sent to the other store I was at the previous day. So I go back to the other store. About a day later I then get a call from the sales department saying i signed on the wrong line on a document and I need to make another trip to re-sign on the correct line. And to update, It's been over a month since I purchased my vehicle and I still don't have my license plates. So, I call in and inform the receptionist of the situation and she says she has my plates and asks if they can mail them or would I like to pick them up? She read my address off the package and I asked her to mail them. They were just sitting there...why?? I have no idea. I felt as if they were new to the car sales experience with all the hassles I faced. read more

Tim Burcal was very friendly and professional handling our shopping. He never made me feel pressured to buy and when I had an offer he didn't make me feel like it was impossible to ask about it. We received very good attention from our purchase. Our deal took about 3 days and Tim was being patient and responsive. Fred from finance was amazing and helped us a lot. They should rename the service dept to "the no service dept". Dropped my car off early Wed and had heard nothing from them by mid day Friday. Called my advisor Paul and was told I was the next car in and he would call me in a few hours to explain the needed repairs. After hearing nothing by 5:45 PM I called back and was informed Paul had left for the day but would call me on Monday???? I said I just wanted to know something/anything about my car. I was put on hold and after 10 minutes I decide to us my time on hold to write a review about this most excellent experience in how to ignore your customers. But the good news is that Paul will definitely call me on Monday....haha.....Should I hold my breath? read more

After an initial smooth sales process, things started going bad from the drive home onward. The car I purchased didn't have its stereo faceplate in place when I test drove it. When I asked about this, my sales rep found the faceplate. I checked if it fit, which it did. I came back to the dealership later that day to pick up the car and finalize the purchase (they also needed to give it an inspection). On the drive home after I bought the car, the stereo faceplate fell off--since I didn't actually test drive it with it attached, I didn't realize this would happen. Any slight bump and it fell off--I had to basically tape it together. During my test drive, however, I did notice a weird hard plastic piece, about the size of a foot, in the rear of the car. It wasn't attached to anything--looked almost like it was something a mechanic left in there. However, I learned later (again, during the drive home) that this was actually the footrest. I found this out because, during the inspection, they apparently "reinstalled" it--and by reinstall, I mean they just put it in place, WITHOUT securing it. A slight brush of the foot and the footrest just detaches and can tumble around by your feet. Not only a shoddy job on Covert's part, but a driving hazard. Recently, some coworkers carpooled with me. One of them sat in the back of the car, and when he went to put his seatbelt on, he noticed that it was almost completely torn apart at one spot--3/4 of the seatbelt is ripped across, hanging together barely. How the hell does that pass inspection? That's not even the end of it! So when I bought the car, I was told they'd contact me once they have the title and plates ready. My temp tags, meanwhile, last two months. Two months go by--I didn't hear anything from them. I emailed them via their contact form on their site, I chatted with someone (who told me that I would receive a phone call soon to help me--that never happened), and the second time I attempted to chat, no one responded, so it had me fill out a contact form (again, no one ever contacted me). So I call in and explain that no one has contacted me and I need my title and new plates, as my temp tags are expiring soon. Turns out, they don't even have the title at the dealership--they are filing a "lost title" claim, which will take 2-3 weeks to process. In the meantime, I get transferred to my Sales rep and I leave a message (because of course he doesn't pick up), letting him know I need my temp tags ASAP. Aside from the initial interaction, I am extremely disappointed and unimpressed at how Covert manages their vehicles and their general operations. Avoid buying a car from this dealership. read more

ZERO is what I'd like to award here. Shame on our salesguy (Scott) who perpetuated the slick salesman stereotype...who told us that financing a $16K car at 4.9% would cost us $345/month. Who did us a "favor" by jiggling the numbers down to $325/month. He never disclosed to us that this tally included every form of insurance and extended warranty known to man. Thank goodness we had a sleepy 3 yr old with us...we decided to take the credit app home to fill out so we could put her to bed and when we logged on to a number of payment configurators online, we discovered Scott was using some fuzzy math. It hadn't seemed right at all when he was feeding us this info, but we didn't know how far off Scott was until we got home. We've since discovered it's common practice for car salespeople to include all this fluff in their "offers" but the key thing is that they're supposed to disclose these extras are included in the price. Scott never took an opportunity to give us the straight story, even though we expressed dismay at how high the monthly payments were going to be. He had his chance to be up front but I guess he thought we were a couple of fools. Well, the joke's on him. Not only did we get a better price on the car at another dealership (Leif Johnson), but we also got a way better interest rate, got the color & interior we wanted without a wait, and waddaya know, the monthly payment is $70/mo less than what Scott offered at Covert. I purchased a used vehicle and salesman was good. As far as everything else, it's been an absolute disaster. They allowed me to drive the vehicle off the lot without passing inspection Friday evening. Returned the vehicle for a few things to get fixed the following Monday and parts were supposedly at the dealership. A week and a half later, not one single person in the dealership (Service Manager, Used Car Manager, Salesman) can give me an answer or update on the vehicle. I was sold a defective Ford F150 less than two months ago. The engine failed and needed 5 replacement parts that were on backorder with no ETA available. After threats of legal action Covert Ford replace vehicle but failed to reimburse me for all the upgrades I made to the old defective vehicle. I also discovered that this defective engine was a known problem that Ford had been dealing with since 2016. I asked Lance why he didn't disclose to me that the car they sold me had a defective engine and had been sitting on their lot for four months. He could offer no satisfactory explanation. So I'm in the market for a new vehicle and since Covert is everywhere, I thought that this would be a good place to start. I'm a Ford girl - always have been, probably always will be, but decided to give GMC a try since my boyfriends father works for GMC and gets a discount. We started off at Covert GMC. Our sales rep was nice enough, but it took over an hour and a half just to get a quote! Who takes that long to put some ROUGH numbers on a piece of paper? After waiting that whole time to crunch the numbers, though I did get to test drive a new GMC Terrain which was awesome, we left sort of disappointed. So we thought we'd head on over to Covert Ford. BIG MISTAKE. Our sales rep, who shall remain nameless, was AWFUL. We told him what we were looking for about 5-6 times and he just kept ignoring us and blathering on and on and on about his mother and a slew of other topics that just were not interesting. He was talking so fast that it was hard to keep up (and for those of you that know me personally, you know that is saying A LOT!). He reminded me of one of those typical sleezy used car salesmen with the slicked back hair that just got off a 2 week bender. I was not impressed with either Cover dealership and needless to say, will be purchasing my vehicle from another dealer. Poor salesmanship at both locations. I had a whole thing written up here, but I ran out of room :) I'll leave this short and sweet. Covert Ford is your typical dealership. The folks are nice, but you get that vibe that they will take advantage of you unless you come prepared. This is no different than other dealerships in town. We worked with Dan Covert, and if you look on the board, you'll see that he's ahead by orders of magnitude. We ended up with a car that we like, with an extended warranty that we got for an amazing price. Dan needs to take his ADHD meds though, because he's easily juggling 4 different this at any given time, and it's distracting and can cost the customer money if you're not paying attention. I buy cars entirely too often, so this wasn't intimidating. I will not use the word sleazy. But Covert is no different than the other dealerships in town and they will try and get the best deals possible for them. If you can be firm, calm and collected and call the dealership out on bullshit, then you can do just fine with these guys. If you want to go in and do the no-haggle thing, hit up Carmax. read more

A 2 month ordeal to fix a transmission range sensor recall. On August 14th I brought my F150 in for a recall service. The service advisor told me it would be about 7 days because they were way behind. Two weeks later It still hadn't even been looked at. The only thing this first service advisor kept telling me is that they only have one transmission tech. They are so behind that they stopped accepting appointments for the transmission shop. Another two weeks later my service advisor quit. So this new service advisor finally calls me and tells me what was wrong with my transmission. WHICH IS SOMETHING I ALREADY KNEW!!! So it basically took them a month to tell me what was wrong with it. Now the issue is getting the part ordered which of course they didn't have at the shop. I told this service advisor that I'm just going to go get it and wait for the part to come in. When I went to go pick up the truck, the cashier took almost an hour to assist me and then tried to charge me around $400.00 for doing nothing. I asked her what I was paying for, because nothing had been fixed. She gave me some attitude and went to a manager. The manager took another 30 minutes to clear it and they finally gave me my keys. I was told by the second service advisor the part was ordered before I picked it up. They said they would call me when the part was in on the 18th of September. September 18th comes around and of course no one calls me. I call them and find out that this second service advisor had also quit and the part hadn't been ordered....ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. They finally ordered the part and I get an service appointment set for Sept 30. I take the truck in and they take another 8 days to fix it. Throughout this whole experience I kept getting excuses that they were understaffed. I asked people I know who work at mac haik ford and apparently Covert ford treat their employees like crap and so they just have a awful turnover rate. Ford shouldn't let this franchise continue to operate. I have made a complaint with Ford corporate. Do not take your Ford here. Awful...Awful...Awful. If you don't have enough people to smoothly operate your business, you shouldn't continue to operate until you get adequate staff. read more

After looking at vehicles for several days, I came in to Covert VERY motivated to find the right vehicle and make a deal. I have been test driving midsized SUVs all weekend, and I wanted to try the Edge before making my decision. After doing some research online, I was contacted by a salesman this Sunday morning. I was happy to hear that Covert was open on Sunday, so I let the salesman know that I would be there this afternoon to test drive the Edge. I showed up at Covert, took a quick look through the lot, and asked to speak with the gentleman who called me this morning. The receptionist gave him a call, and he was on a drive with another client, but said he had the car ready for our test drive. No problem. So, I took a few minutes to walk through the lot again as I waited for him to return. When the gentleman returned, we went to the car that he had "gotten ready" for our test drive, only to find that it was almost our of gas. So, we went to fuel it up, and he returned to the dealership where he said he had to go help another client, and left me with the keys. Big letdown. I drove the Edge alone, checking out the features as best I could without a Ford salesman to walk me through it. I returned to Covert, and found the salesman was still with another client, so I waited, and waited, and took a third stroll though the lot while it was lightly drizzling outside. I returned to the showroom, and was still not greeted, helped or event acknowledged. At this point, I decided to leave the key with the receptionist and head back home, extremely dissatisfied. The least this salesman could have done would be to take a moment to greet me, ask how I liked the Edge, take the test drive key, offer me a seat and maybe a bottle of water and let me know he would be right with me as soon as possible. As I headed back to my truck to leave the dealership, I asked a gentleman in the used car department about a preowned 2011 Edge that caught my eye, and after looking through his price sheet, he was unable to even tell me what the price was for the vehicle. And he didn't offer to ask another salesperson or assist me at all. I hopped back in my truck and drove back home, feeling very let down by my Covert Ford experience. Although my visit to Covert today was a major letdown, the only pro is that I was able to absolutely rule Ford, and this dealership in particular, out of my decision for purchasing my new vehicle. As I mentioned, I vas very motivated and optimistic to be driving away from Covert in a new Ford Edge. But the one thing that got in the way was the customer service, or absolute lack thereof. I hate negative reviews, but I hope this helps someone else avoid a letdown at Covert. read more

I should of never went back to the dealership... I wish there was a negative star option... Below is an email I sent to the person in charge of Covert Ford today. Kenny, I was in you dealership today and thought I would shoot you an update. I should of stuck to what I said below, but thought the service section might have been different. 1) When I brought back the Escape for the recall it sat at the dealership for a couple of weeks. Understandable, would want to make sure the car was good before it left. When I picked up the Escape, they had lost my car and kept trying to give me someone else keys... Finally after an hour of them looking at my like I was crazy, the realized they had assigned the number they gave my car to another car. Then it took another hour for the car to be pulled up. 2) I brought my truck by because it had a nail in the tire. When I pulled up, I was informed that they could not patch my tire because I didn't buy the tires at Covert. I thought the whole reason of getting the tire package was to fix items like this. It was explained to me by Travis if I ever had this kind of thing happen while I have the vehicle this would be covered. Is it expected that there is only one set of tires for the life of the vehicle? 3) I came in today to get my tires rotated and oil changed. I was under the impression that this was also covered in the care package on the truck. I could have been wrong, and was willing to pay for it. When the service tech asked if I wanted him to pull my paperwork from sales, I told him not to and that working with Travis and purchasing the vehicles were less than enjoyable and did not want to get him involved. The service person comped my oil change, which is appreciated. But on the way out to pick up my truck....Travis took it upon himself to stand in the door way starring, smirking, shaking his head before he laughed and when back inside. Look, I know this is my fault, I should of stuck to my guns and not come back to the dealership in all these cases. I guess I am a glutton for punishment. But seriously, it seems that this is more of a playground than a sales oriented establishment. I am in sales and still fell for Travis's crap deal. I am not asking for comps, money or even an apology. I know I would want to know this and the bad PR is brings with it. I sent an email to Ford Motor Company as well. read more

Covert Ford had the best price on a new 2015 Mustang GT I bought and after comparing prices with other dealers, they were the lowest so I purchased from them. Besides the low price, the service and experience I've received from this dealer has been horrendously awful. The numbers were jumbled up while purchasing the car and finance showed me incorrect pricing. I suspected some dishonesty and poor attention to detail from sales and if I hadn't taken a picture of the original screen, sales and finance would've tried to sell me on the higher price. Finance became visibly upset when I refused to buy the extended warranty. After purchasing the vehicle, I was given a loaner to drive while I got some performance parts installed on the car. The loaner was at no cost and much appreciated. However after a few days, I was called by Covert and told the car I purchased was no longer available and if I'd like to order a different car. This was AFTER purchasing the vehicle and signing paperwork and taking out insurance on that particular Mustang. A different sales person called me later and informed me that another car exactly like the one I wanted was now available. Great. Now the waiting game for parts. Parts finally arrived and I was given a whole litany of reasons as to why the car could simply not be completed today. "Well it's too late in the day now.." "On Saturday's they only work until one.." "You know that's really a big job so it's gonna take a few days to get it scheduled.." As of this writing it's been 11 days since my purchase and I've been told it's going to be another 3 days to a job that takes a normal shop between 3-6 hours. Customer service nightmare. Update: While writing this, the service manager called me and told me the car will be finished tomorrow. We shall see... read more

I have owned dozens (literally) of Fords in my life and I'm not even 30 years old. 1948-1979 trucks and Broncos (still own a 1979 Bronco), still own a 1993 F-150, Mustangs (still own two 1970s) - to say that I am a "Ford guy" is an understatement so I am very disappointed to have negative feedback for a Ford dealer. I currently own 6 Fords. There is zero chance that any of them will be serviced at Covert. I moved to Austin 2+ years ago and needed a daily driver/commuter car; Covert was the closest dealer so I walked in, met Christine Lewis, and paid CASH for a 2013 Focus SE hatchback automatic a few weeks later (should have bought an ST). The 2012+ Focus with the DCT transmission has horrible clutch issues and should be recalled (Ford extended the warranties on their clutches and considers that "fair" compensation to owners). I put about 9K miles a year on my Focus; at 7K miles, the car drove horribly and it needed a new clutch seal (very common defect on these vehicles equipped with a DCT transmission). Covert did such a poor job replacing it and the transmission began making buzzing/grinding noises when I got it back from service. Each time I brought it back to have them investigate the noises, they told me "everything is normal" and sent me on my way with some BS boiler plate letter from Ford on why the DCT transmission makes noises and drives like a manual transmission. At 14K miles, my transmission needed to be completely rebuilt and had numerous parts replaced. I wanted a full transmission replacement, but I guess that was too much to ask for on a new car with only 14K miles; guess I wasn't wrong about the noises I was hearing that were "normal". Covert's attitude is somewhat robotic; if the transmission doesn't act up according to the service technicians' computer diagnostic, it's not broken. Meanwhile, the damn thing sounds like it's about to drop out on the road when I drive it. Covert doesn't seem to understand the concept of me spending my hard earned money at their dealer and then feeling horrible for not being treated like a valued customer. If I bring a car in for service (that I purchased from Covert), I shouldn't have to reason with the service department to investigate what I am experiencing with my vehicle. I take hours out of my day to bring my vehicle to Covert and expect that they can take a few minutes out of their busy schedule to put me at ease and inspect my vehicle and listen to what I have to say. My brother in law has been rubbing his new Super Duty diesel (lifted, 37s, ranch hands, etc.) in my face and there is no doubt my next vehicle is either a King Ranch Super Duty diesel or a new aluminum-bodied F-150. All I can say at this point is that Covert won't be earning repeat business from me. I was going to see if my wife wanted a Ford Edge or Explorer to replace her old vehicle, but after the experience I had at Covert, she went with a Mercedes Benz. Oh, and for what it's worth, Christine Lewis told me I could trade my 2 year old $22K MSRP Focus in for $12K. Great deal, Christine, I think I'll pass. At that rate, my wife's new Benz has a lower cost of ownership. Haven't heard from her since and she hasn't proposed any viable resolution to me for my Focus. I don't regret things in life, but I regret giving Covert Ford my business. read more

A Koko Fit Club owner friend of mine new I was in search of a newer, reliable, economical vehicle so she referred me to Abel Gonzalez. I reached out to him later that day and he did everything he said he would do. He called and texted when he said he would. I told him everything I was looking for in a vehicle and he provided pictures and info on a couple of beautiful cars. I test drove them and chose one. The payments turned out to be more than what my budget calls for and he was very understanding and patient with helping me find a vehicle that would be closer to my budget and that would not be expensive to repair. I took the liberty to look at their online inventory and spotted "the one". I went in the next day and told him which one I wanted to look at and test drive. It was still available!! We went to their sister lot but couldn't look inside or test drive it because it was closed. Abel and I both knew that it was going to be a good fit...even though I wanted to test drive it before moving forward. Abel knew I was determined to drive home in a new vehicle that night. My old car was "begging" me to give it a rest and I was done hearing grinding brakes and being bounced around with small bumps because the shocks were shot. Lol! He sent me home in a 2017 Ford Fusion until the next day to proceed with the one I picked out. What a relief and JOY it was to be taken care of in that way!! I test drove the 2015 Honda Civic ES white with beige interior and 9,800 miles on it! They got it all washed up and pretty before my test drive. The car door was already opened when I approached it for the test drive and I was so excited about how pretty it was with the cleanliness, sparkly chrome, and brilliant blue lights! I wanted it to be mine so we wrapped up. Abel helped me transfer all of my belongings into my new car. I totally forgot about my rose quartz butterfly hanging on the rear view mirror but Abel didn't. I was looking for something in the front seats and when I looked up there it was dangling in front of me. That put a huge smile on my face!! The finance man, Fred, was awesome too!! He was up front and honest with me and the paper signing, etc went very smoothly. I highly recommend having Abel help you with your vehicle purchase! You will be very pleased. read more

First of all I want to say my family has purchased many of vehicles from Covert & have been very happy. I was Very Happy with Jeff in Accessories & Travis in Finance 5 Stars! My sales person (TRAVIS PALU) on my most recent purchase was not professional, he lied or story told, did not return phone calls & over all the worst experience! There was a list of items that needed to be addressed to the new vehicle before it was delivered, just trying to get that addressed with sales person was a process. During this time, it was very clear he just wanted me to go away & take vehicle as is. Just a very disappointing experience with sales person! I left the dealership still not having my keyless code for this vehicle, this was one of the items that was on the dealership list. I have taken the new truck to MAC HAIK FORD to help me get the keyless code information that Travis Palu @ Covert Ford just couldn't seem to get done. Talk about a business going down the toilet. I had been a loyal customer for decades. They used to provide good service. But now they are the worst. We set up an appointment to get work done on one of our cars. Since the problem with the car was not critical, we set it up for over two weeks from the date when we originally brought it there. We brought it in on the day of the appointment and then it sat there for a week with no one looking at it. In fact, when we called and came by we were told it was 84th on the list. It was impossible to understand why if they were not going to check out the truck, will they not let us I have it to drive around until they were ready to work on it. We call leave Johnson Ford who said they would be able to look at it that day. We got the truck back within a few days. There was one item where they had to order a part. So they had us pick up the truck so we could use it until the missing part arrives. When that happens, they will call us so it can be brought back in and fixed without waiting. Bought a new King Ranch F-150 here a couple months ago. Very happy with the truck. Lady in the finance department was fast, friendly, and efficient. Salesman was okay, never explained any vehicle features. Not a big deal, I figured them out, I knew what I wanted. Was sold on the maintenance plan. Made my first appointment earlier this week for 7:30 AM this morning. Literally just an oil change and check fluids. That should take 30-45 minutes tops with an appointment first thing in the morning. I am writing this review at 9:35. If I had it to do over I'm not sure I would commit myself to a bunch of 2-3 hour oil changes..... read more

Purchased two cars there two weeks ago tomorrow - one a cash sale, the other partially financed. Was a good experience until a week after the purchase. They tried to say the sale of the financed one was a Straw Sale since I was purchasing the vehicle for my son & the bank would no longer finance. Absolute bullshit. Finance manager, Fred, could not remember anything he told me or my fiancé. Get financed through another bank on Thursday, he told my fiancé for us to come Friday after I get off work. We get there before 6pm, we told them we were there to see Fred, a guy went back to his office, came back said he will be with yall shortly. 7:15pm he makes his way out and asked what we were doing there and as it is after 7pm, we couldn't be helped to sign paperwork. Tells us he will call on Sunday early for us to come finish up paperwork. At almost 4pm yesterday (Sunday) he calls - well we already were doing something so we were unable to go then. We get there today at 9:10am and are just now leaving. I questioned him to some things he told my fiancé on the phone, that I heard him say since he was on speaker. His reply - I need said that. So in short save yourself time and hassle by not going to Covert Ford. I wish I had read reviews before purchasing two vehicles from there. My fiancé is in the market to trade his car in now and I can good guarantee we won't step foot on that lot again!!!! Edited to add - I traded in the Lincoln I purchased as a cash sale last week, and he thinks it's his business why I traded it in already. Used Car Sales. I bought a 2004 Ford F-150 from this dealership and I love it. It was just the right truck for me right now and Monty the salesman was helpful, friendly and personable-- everything you might want from a used car salesman. It was an easy sale for him because I liked the truck so much. Nevertheless, this is a 1 star review because the dealership didn't follow through on all the agreements we made in good faith before the sale was finalized. I asked the dealership to get me my disabled veteran plates transferred to my new truck. Instead, the business office charged me the regular title and licensing rate of around 60 dollars and got me regular plates without ever contacting me about it. When I refused the regular plates and told them that I wanted the disabled veteran (DV) plates like we agreed to before the sale (and that I would provide them with whatever paperwork they needed) the dealership leadership simply ignored me for a month until the temporary plate was expired. Since the temp plate was expired I stopped by to pick up the plates that they got me with a demand that they reimburse me my $60 dollars (since I have to change the plates on my own) they flat out refused. (the salesman offered me the money from his own personal account but I refused that ;) ). Covert Ford leadership apparently doesn't understand that a deal is a deal and I won't be trying to make any more deals with Covert Ford in the future. read more

After 40 years of living in Austin and a dozen new cars, I've worked with several different local dealerships. Without question, my favorite has been the Covert Family. My most recent experience with Covert Ford reinforces why I keep returning to their organization. The sales staff, Bert Sheppard and Rahim Khalfan, were low key, informative and professional. And I was particularly impressed with Stephen Hamilton, the Service Director's involvement and especially Kenny Covert's personal interest in my situation. This is a Family run dealership, and that sort of friendly, helpful, honest attitude is what you should expect.
