We purchased a new 2023 F-150 in June. After one week of driving it, the A/C stopped working in 100+ degree heat. After taking it back in for service, it's a known issue with the 2022 and 2023 F-150s and so much in demand that the part to repair is backed up for who knows how long. The General Manager doesn't even have an estimate. It's been over a month since the truck has been sitting in their service department and still is not fixed. Salesman never mentioned that the a/c had known issues but they sure took our large down payment and first payment is already due. The loaner vehicle they provided was dirty inside and out. It has a slow tire leak that makes the tire go flat every three days. I've been back three times already and that tire is also not fixed yet. Their service department is not up to par. read more

The assigned rep asked if I knew if they ordered the replacement airbag. Then after taking my info and pulling the car away, he came back to say it would take three days. AND, he will not supply me with a car. I asked. "Then what's the use of an appointment? I'll bring it back in three days and you can work on it." He said I would "lose my place in line." Service department was simply horrible. Three years ago I received a recall notice on my 2017 Lincoln Continental. I contacted Covert multiple times and was told the parts were not available. After many months of this, I called Ford Motor Company customer service. They told me I had to take the car into the dealer and have them order the part. I did. For two years my inquiries to Covert were always met with "the part is back ordered". Last week I tried again and got the same response. Called Ford customer service again, but this time they were helpful. They found the part at another dealer in town, helped me set up an appointment with them for the next day and Leif Johnson Ford resolved the issue that day. It seems Covert just did not want to do the recall work. Either that or they are simply incompetent. Wish I could give zero stars. read more

1st off this is the WORST ford dealership you can possibly deal with. I purchased a used 2001 ford f-450 from Eric the salesmen. I paid 23k cash for this truck. I live in California and they assured me they could register and title my vehicle for me. It has been 3 months and I do not have any form of registration and an expired temp registration. I have tried to get ahold of Shari in titling and no one returns my calls. It has been 3 weeks since I have heard from anyone at that dealership. The last conversation they told me was the vehicle I purchased was not CARB compliant and could not register it in California. So Eric the salesmen lied to me when selling me this truck. I now have a 23k dollar paper weight and no Texas title or anything. I have been more then accommodating as it's been over 3 months since I made the deal and have gotten no where. They charged me $200 for registration fees and have not fulfilled there side of the deal. Worst place to deal with. read more

My recent truck buying experience at Covert received a 5 star rating from me. It all started with your Internet manager, Hardy Woodall, being a gem and giving my number from my Internet inquiry to the sales team immediately, which allowed me to be able to buy my new Ranger Tremor before anyone else could snag it! Next up was my amazing financial guru, Tamarcus, explaining everything from start to finish, in layman's terms that I could understand and process. He didn't get frustrated with all my questions and even stayed late at the dealership after close, to get my contract pushed through. He is a wonderful employee that I really appreciated working with. Once I bought my truck your top notch delivery specialist, Esteban, literally made the delivery and setup a breeze and fun. From talking about hunting and my horse, to how much beans went up price wise with the crazy current inflation rate (man loves to make some yummy chili and the rising prices are crimping his style he may need a raise for that alone) and answering every question I could think of about my new truck, this guy knows customer service and is quick, witty and a joy to be around. He also, I bet, tried EVERY drill bit in the building trying to get my front license plate off, to no avail. The fact that he was so willing to keep looking and running out to my old vehicle trying to remove it, was not overlooked and greatly appreciated. The real unsung hero though was not even someone on my 'original team'. Hicham was the absolute BEST part of my dealing with Covert. When my sales rep wasn't there when I came in to finish the paperwork, Hicham stepped up, letting my dad and I sit at his desk while we waited for the paperwork to be ready and chatting with us the entire time. He got us water, talked about his past and asked us questions about our hobbies and daily life, and also stayed late at the dealership so he could walk us out to the car and give me directions on how to get out with the gates locked after hours. Then, when my father came in to pick up my wheel locks and front license plate the day after purchase (and to show the first night wasn't a fluke), Hicham AGAIN delivered a customer experience that is not typical these days. When the ball had been dropped (even with follow up confirmation that it was being done and would be ready in an hour or so) and my wheel locks and front license plate removal hadn't even been started at his arrival two hours later, he bent over backwards to get the work started IMMEDIATELY and he even happily chatted with my father for over an hour while he waited for completion. Hicham MADE the customer experience, which in retail sales, is everything. I'm a manager at FedEx, (my dad is also a retired FedEx employee and knows what customer service should look like) and Hicham delivered what we call, 'the purple promise' multiple times, over and over. Simply put, it means, 'Make EVERY experience outstanding'. Wowza did Hicham ever deliver. He had NONE of the 'typical' 'slimy, pushy out for a sale only' vibe that I had received from other dealerships and have dealt with in the past. He genuinely cares and wants to help anyway he can. This guy is management material, as he knows what makes the customer tick and how to make the experience unforgettable. I reckon he knows that the customer is the 'lifeblood' of any company, as without customers, you have no company. I would love to see him in a management position in the future. I do not recommend this dealership to anyone, especially not anyone who is not knowledgeable about vehicles. Covert took advantage of my situation. I was charged far more (before taxes) than the vehicle was listed. That charged me $15k more than the car is actually worth, which is excessive even for a car dealership. The car had damage that was not disclosed to me beforehand. They knew that I was in a vulnerable position and feeling very overwhelmed by the situation and they exploited that. They assured me that I was "getting an amazing deal" and that I was "getting a good deal because you work in education." I was repeatedly told that this was a great price for the vehicle I purchased. I assume they added more to the listing price after they offered me my trade-in price. After offering me my trade-in, the rest of the process was quite rushed and I had been there for hours waiting with no paperwork to look over. I was desperate for a car, and they knew that. Yes, I was naive, but the extent I was exploited was incredible. I purchased a used car, and was helped by the used vehicle department. The department is run-down, dingey, and chaotic. The atmosphere adds to the overwhelming experience of purchasing a vehicle. I was only made aware of the horrible price I was charged when I brought the vehicle into another dealership to see what my trade in options would be. BUYER BEWARE. Bought a truck here and noticed the exhaust pipe hanging low when I looked at the car, and I was assured this would be checked out before delivery. I go to pick up the car and the exhaust is WORST. Not even sure how they were able to pull it up to the front without noticing. Covert fixed the exhaust at no cost to me and blames the car wash company. Two weeks later(due to part hold I'm told) the truck is fixed and delivered to me. The key that's given with the car is not registered to the car and sets off the car alarm each time I open it. ALSO, not even a day goes by and the check engine light comes on for a state inspection failure code. Im now paying for repairs that I was assured would be checked before purchase. We took it in for a recall repair, but things ended up worse than they'd started in the service dept(meh) & it was going to take some major setbacks to get everything repaired. I've been gotten corporate involved. Guess what? The service department won't even call corporate back. This place will take your car and keep it for weeks without it giving you an estimate, loaner, or timeline. They will lie to you. Be aware, my husband brought his truck for an oil transmission change, and asked for diagnostic since the truck was shaking, they said he needed to change the sparks plugs and electric cables, it will be $1500, the truck was sitting there for 3 days and they were not answering our calls, he went to pick up the truck, they said they couldn't do the work because they did not having the parts. I only am rating this because they were so miserable, I think others should know what they are dealing with. I found a truck that I liked and was texting with the salesman. Drove all the way from Houston to drive it with the plan to buy it that day. When I arrived, found out that the guy that I was to meet was "missing". The truck that I was to test drive was still being built in Michigan, but they would offer me a "good deal" on something else and "take care of me". After initially getting over the "bait and switch" they had just pulled on me, I looked at what they had to offer. They offered on OK price on a truck, however they were requiring me to take over $5k in additional "up-charges" like a key fob warranty, scotch guard, etc.; which basically negated any savings they were offering. In addition, they were offering me over $3k less than what I was quoted from Carmax (showed them the paperwork). Needless to say, they are not honest people and would treat them as typical car salesman that always make you feel dirty after dealing with them. read more

As a small business owner in the service industry I fully appreciate the chaos and endless challenges that come with the territory. Over the years I've learned valuable lessons that push our organization to be better. The greatest lesson is that many problems can be avoided and resolved through frequent and clear communication. Unfortunately the communication by the Covert Ford Service department has been embarrassingly poor during my relationship with them. When the transmission went out in my Ford Transit Connect at 90,000 miles and needed replaced, I reluctantly had them replace it. Fast forward to August 14, 2020 and with 198,000 miles the transmission was acting up again, and knowing I received a lifetime warranty on the replaced transmission I took it back to Covert. They have had the vehicle in their possession for over 6 weeks and went I returned to retrieve the vehicle today September 28, 2020 they could not tell me what was wrong with it. When requested to be told, all they could say was 'we will know more in morning'. When I asked to be compensated with a vehicle so I could get to work, they said 'we will know more in morning'. Have your ever been held hostage? By a company? That is how I feel. Who knows what they have been up to for the last 6 weeks? If you are needing service on your Ford I recommend any and all other Ford dealerships where they actually care enough about customers to provide frequent and clear communication. read more

Absolutely hands down the worst service department I have ever dealt with. Dropped my vehicle off at 9am with a *scheduled appointment* for an oil change, state inspection, and transmission fluid and filter change. Was not even greeted, the advisor who was supposed to have my appointment passed me off onto someone else without saying a word, and I NEVER SIGNED ANY KIND OF AUTHORIZATION for work. I asked them to give me a call if anything needed to be done once they opened up the transmission for the fluid change. No call. Advisor wasn't even able to quote me an approximate cost on 3 service menu items. They took my keys and told me it should be ready around 2. I tried calling 3 times and was not able to get a hold of my advisor or anyone besides a cashier in the service department who was pretty short and rude with me. It's now 3:25 and I've been waiting in the parking lot for them to finish a tire rotation and state inspection for 35 minutes. I can see my truck sitting in a service bay not getting worked on . Will update after I get the bill I guess.... I DARE Ford to email me a survey. This is truly unbelievable. Update: 30 minutes later I got my truck. They charged me $387 for just labor for a transmission fluid change. No paperwork or update from the tech in terms of any further service needed, no multipoint inspection paperwork, nothing!! They lie! I bought a used car from these guys. I tried to negotiate the price and instead they offered me the ford advantage plan where I would get free oil changes for 2 years, so I took it. The sales person, the manager, and the person putting together the contract all confirmed that I was getting two years of free oil change, but when I went in to get my first oil change, they all denied it and and said it wasn't on the contract and it's not a common thing they offer. I tried really hard to get a hold of the sales guy to see why this is happening. He ignored all my calls and voicemails. DON'T TRUST ANYTHING THEY SAY! I purchased a used 2020 Mustang convertible from Covert Ford. The salesman, and I use that word loosely, told me the car had been traded in. When I arrived in Austin to pick up the car, I learned the car had been purchased by the store. I didn't realize until I got home to the DFW area that the rear windows didn't fully close. This will take almost a full week to fix at my local Ford store. Some of the digital software controls do not work. The car didn't have any floor mats. Fortunately, the car is wonderful, but I would caution anyone shopping there to take the time to really, really inspect the vehicle. read more

We purchased a 2021 Lincoln Navigator with 10k miles on in August 2022 from Covert Ford Lincoln in Austin. In October 2023, with approx 24k miles on it, our local dealership in Grapevine completely replaced the transmission, repaired the Apple car play system and repaired the drivers seat. In April 2024, the car started having trouble with all the same things. Our local Lincoln dealership repaired a part of the new transmission, repaired the drivers seat again and repaired the car play system again. Through this process, we were talking with our service advisor at the our local dealership (Grapevine). I was asking for advice on if we should keep the car or not. During the buying process, we were told it was a Lincoln Certified Used car and had a 6 year/100K warranty on it. He told me the dealership we purchased it from (in Austin) never filed any of this. We reached out to that dealership. They admitted this was the fact. Even though we have it in writing, the car was never Lincoln Certified, but was priced at a premium saying it was. After MONTHS of following up with dealership with barely a response, the dealership did finally offer a comparable warranty as a Lincoln Certified Used car but, it still remains that the car NEVER went through the certification process and was never Lincoln Certified Used. We paid a premium for this certification. It also affects resale value substantially. We asked for additional compensation to cover the premium price we paid for the car and the difference in current resale value. The General Managers response was that "the warranty you were given at no cost covers more than the certified warranty and is a higher overall value." The fact that they had to come to the table and spend money to purchase a warranty after the fact, is not our concern. We purchased a Certified Used Lincoln and that is not what we received. read more

I am not a person who uses yelp to write bad reviews, I think I've only written one besides this one. I didn't write one after the first issue, the second issue, but now I'm done. I will say my interaction with the salesman was great, the person I dealt with during the finance process was also great. But that's where the pleasantness stopped. About 3 months ago I purchased a $40k vehicle from the dealership. Car was in great condition, but I noticed the tires were a little worn, which is expected for a used vehicle. So a few months after spending 40 grand on a car I find myself replacing the tires. They replaced one tire with a used tire to pass inspection before I drove off the lot. I bought a 2017 car and just found out the tires were from early 2016, by the manufacturer date on the tire. Now I'm spending $1300+ to replace tires on a car I spent $40 grand on a few months ago. I understand that I bought it as is, but these tires had to have passed inspection by the skin of their teeth. 3 tires were at 1/32" bald, the one they replace to pass inspection was at 3/32", less than half of a new tire. I was also told I could have a key made so we could have a spare, they are very expensive to have made. The salesman gave me a number for his guy and said just call him and he'll come to your house and make you a spare. I have called multiple times about having this done, not only has the person never answered calls or texts, I never received as much as a no, I'm not doing it. I also received a few free oil change vouchers from the dealership for purchasing the car. I called them to schedule my first maintenance a few days ago. I spoke to a very nice lady on the phone who gave me a few options, which was the following week. When I showed up to get the service done I was told they didn't offer appointments and that if I wanted to leave my car until the following afternoon they could do it... obviously I left. I called a few times a few weeks earlier to schedule and they're too booked. What's the go ding oil change vouchers if you're not going to honor them or have time to get your customer in? Lastly , I never received any of my paperwork on my warranty or purchase. Edit: the following day our battery exploded. I had a great experience with this place until the moment I signed the contract. I own a business and have 4 Ford vans and an F150, my wife has an Explorer and I will be buying my son a truck this year. We have bought a new Ford van every year since starting my business and will continue to, but never again from this dealer. I will drive out to Buda like we have in the past. read more

Absolute worst place to get your vehicle serviced, save your time and money and look for a better place to service your Ford. I paid over $5k to have them replace battery, alternator and wire harness to alternator. Six months in the same issue comes up and they said it was a faulty alternator they installed and supposedly it was under warranty and they "found" other issues and charged me another $2,800 to fix my horn and a few other "issues" that they found. I go to get inspection and it fails because the horn wasn't working and so I take it back they get it to work that day and since I had already paid for inspection I took it back to the same place and it passes because horn was working. Few days go by and it stops working again but I was tired of leaving my vehicle there for days at a time to get serviced and now that I go back they tell me it's another $1,200 to get my horn to work. Service is where most dealers make their money but you guys are taking advantage of too many people. I will never be taking my ford there again and I will purchasing elsewhere. Service manager called me and said that he was willing to take off $110 because that was what he charged me the first time to fix my horn. No one would return phone calls, and when I went to pick up the car -- a scheduled appointment -- it took two hours and FIVE different people to finally get me my car. While there I observed at least 15 people on the sales floor with clearly not very much to do. At one point, I came out of the hallway from the restrooms to overhear someone shouting "blow job!" I was looking for a new Ford Maverick. I have been trying to order the pickup, with the order date getting pushed out (not coverts fault). However the salesmen, are not very responsive to the idea of a customer ordering a vehicle. I responded to a Facebook market place ad for a used ford maverick that ended up being at covert ford. The whole experience was hilarious. A younger salesmen had made up a price on the market place listing. Granted this a highly sought after truck, which is understandable. But the young salesman had no idea what was going on, thought the truck had a 500,000 mile warranty. When we sat down to discuss price of the truck, the dealership wanted 47k for a truck with 14k millage. The msrp on the new truck is 32-33. Again. This is a highly sought after truck, However, adam the floor manager of the used car section continually tried to pressure me into purchasing the vehicle, telling me to buy it today and then trade it in on the truck I wanted to order? He was incredibly pushy and I can't help but think he has pressured many people into decisions that proved to be disastrous for their financials. read more

I would like to start with this is the first time I've ever felt the need to leave a review. Save yourself and never come here. I would leave no stars if possible. I had trouble with gear shift and had to get my car towed to the dealership. When it was dropped off on a Monday I was told that they were backed up and it would be about a week which I understood. Come Friday of that week and I had not heard a single word about my car so I called my service advisor and left a message. She never got back to me so I tried again and left another message on Monday. Nothing. So Tuesday I call the dealership and had to call three times before someone in reception picked up. They transferred me twice to employees who didn't answer before I finally asked to speak to the service manager. He tells me he will check on it and finally I start getting texts from my advisor with updates. She tells me the car should be finished Friday and yet Friday comes and I hear nothing. I reach out and she's on vacation and tells me someone else will contact me. Big surprise no one does so on Saturday I call and ask to speak to the general manager. I called 6 times and left 2 messages before I could get someone to talk to me and I'm told I will be called back with an update and yet again no one contacts me. Monday morning my car has been there for two weeks now when I was told it would be ready in a week then I was told it would be ready on Friday and it wasn't I finally get a call from a manager saying that my car should be done by the end of the day and someone will contact me to pick it up. NOTHING. So I call on Tuesday and leave a voicemail with the manager. Upon not hearing back I called again and the dealership stopped answering my phone calls. Which is the most unprofessional thing I can think of. I know this because I was sent straight to voicemail twice with no ringing before I called from a different number and they answered right away. Finally, I ask my dad to call because I'm a woman and I'm young so I was pushed around for two going on three weeks. Within two minutes, not exaggerating on the time, after my dad calls I get a call saying my car is ready to be picked up. Disgusted by the way I was treated. This was hands down the worse service I've ever had. This place should not be in business if it's going to run this way.
