I've lived here at the Covina Palms for about 3 years, and recently transferred to another unit, which I love. The apartment is a two bed two bath. It is so spacious. Gabriela and Arturo are awesome! Gabriela truly cares about her property and tenets. She is the most sweetest person. She has great Customer Service and treats everyone like family. Arturo is also very sweet and very helpful, he's always been prompt to assist with any maintenance issues. He even help me move my refrigerator when I transferred to my new apartment, which is not his job, but was very kind and quick to help me. He also cares about the tenets and property. I am not sure of this is how I add a different review for Arturo. He came and promptly completed scheduled work for the bathroom heater and to place caulk around the base of the heater fixture and shower head base. He did a fast and quality job. He cleaned up pretty good with a few minor things that were remaining. But, no biggie. My husband and I were very pleased with Arturo's work. We know we are in good hands with him. read more

I had a great time here with the Landlord, Gabby, and maintenance man, Arturo. My wife and I moved here 6 years ago and she has taken very good care of us. Typical apartment things like pools, shared laundry room, carport parking. The rent is the cheapest around. Gabby is so kind. Literally the sweetest person I've ever met. She truly cares. Arturo has helped me fix MANY things in my apartment and has always been extremely kind and helpful - and I LOVE TO hear him sing. Wanted to comment on this apartments because there real nice and clean there is two pools and open all summer. It's kids friendly and parking gated on site. Moved into Covina Palms in August 2022. Have not had any major problems and with little things maintenance is quick to resolve. It is very quiet especially at night, feels secure, and clean. The manager, Gabriella, is really nice and always available for any concerns. They have an Amazon locker and even with regular packages I've never had any issues. Our apartment feels spacious for a 1 bedroom in this area and it's newly remodeled, we lucked out! Highly recommend. read more

Just wanted to share a little something about this amazing complex that I can call Home. My husband and I met Gabriela when we were looking for a new place to move into. The complex is beautiful with amazing palm trees, flowers and beautiful bushes that are always kept clean, not to mention the amazing pool. I've been living here since 2020. In fact, finding a place so cheap and available at the time was a god send. There are not too many complaints over all, either. Gabriela (the manager) is quick to fix problems and update the units as needed. She recently replaced our stove/oven, the old one had started to burn us, and she replaced it in 3 days. The environment is nice, pet friendly, and the way I see it it's kind of like a community apartment. This old building really needs some repairs and upgrades. They also need new management who is not too cheap to fix issues the right way with professional workers, not just some guy standing in front of Home Depot. There is no insulation and the windows are very old, so you can run an A/C all day and it is still hot AF. This past summer was miserable. Then I asked for help and the manager (Gabriella) walked in and lied and said that it feels nice and cool even though it's 80+ degrees inside and the A/C has been running all day. Some of the units even have Swamp Coolers! I didn't know that those still existed. If you live here, you should factor in the price of portable A/C units in every room and an additional $100 per month on the electricity bill. The A/C unit in the wall isn't even powerful enough to cool one bedroom. I'm currently running that provided A/C and my portable A/C in the same room and it's still at 75 degrees indoors. It's only March and I'm eager to move out because of this heat. To make it worse, the manager isn't quick to fix anything. Last summer, my A/C completely quit working and they waited over a week to replace it. It was 100+ degrees out and she left me with Nothing! They said that they were looking for an A/C unit... I'm sure they were just looking for something cheap. They only replaced it after over a week because I mentioned my daughter's special needs. If not for that, it would've taken a month. Also, the central heat is older than me (and I'm not young) and isn't being maintained. During the winter, you'll need extra blankets and a space heater. I asked for a repair on that and when a guy showed up to fix it, he was driving a minivan (not a professional truck) and had to borrow a shopvac from the apartment manager to suck out years of dirt from the unit. While he was doing that, he blew out so much dust that my smoke alarm went off. They were able to get the piece of junk running, but my main bedroom gets none of the heat. Another issue I've had is the paint and squeaking floors. When they have a vacant unit, they fix it up within a day with cheap paint and glaze over some beat up counter tops. The cheap paint can be pealed off the walls by hand and the glaze still shows scratches on surfaces from a previous resident. The floors squeak with every step and they haven't addressed that. The place sounds like a 100 year old house with these shotty floors. And, they advertise the fact that they have 2 pools, but the pools are only open from Memorial Day to Labor day. The management company is too cheap to maintain the pools year round, so the pools are just there to look at for most of the year. The washing machines are old and sometimes out of service and they require a card where you store money. The machine only accepts $10 or more and for the past couple months, even the machine to add money to the card wasn't working. I've posted a pic of a washing machine without a face on the display. It has been that way for 2 years. When I told the manager, she said that I'm the only person who ever complained. She is lying because I've talked to other people in the laundry room. I don't currently have a roach problem, but you can smell the roach scent and I've posted pics of the old roach feces. This place was definitely infested really bad and the management didn't clean up after the previous tenants moved out. They just paint over everything. Management lies to you a lot and they abuse the policies in their own favor. I live next to the maintenance man and he has a dog that is well over the weight limit for a pet. Gabriella lied and said that it was under 20 pounds. This dog is 35-40 inches long without adding the length of his tail. If he's 20 pounds, they must have filled him with helium because he's bigger than my 2 year old daughter. One last thing, the parking area is really cracked up and has huge pot holes. Management also said that they will fix that, but I've been here for 2 years and haven't even seen a patch. read more

I'd like to share my positive review. I reached my one year lease last month and it has been pleasant. Manager Gabriela has made me and my daughter feel right at home since day one! I was not the only one excited. She was excited for us as well! Our apartment is very spacious from pantry to closets. Our 12 year old mixed terrier(dog) enjoys it here as well! Gabriela is very attentive to any issues we may have here at the complex and resolves fairly quickly. We feel secure and comfortable at all times. *I have lived here since 2009 until 2019* I have a stress related life threatening disease.. SO here's a snipit of my conversation with this apartment manager Gabriela; Hey... can you please do a yelp review it will help us alot cuz alot of people are moving away.. Me: Umm ok Gabriela; Oh by the way, you know the last time that 911 was called and you had to be taken away in the ambulance. I was not supposed to watch your kids and wait for your sister.. I was not supposed to do that.. I got in trouble and stuff and i told my bosses why i couldn't help but.. . So but yea can you please do a review cuz it will help the apartments. Me: I'll get around to it. Your choice of renting here for the amazing rent price.. Yes there's big space in a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom but GUESS WHAT YES there's a Big Roach infestation here (I've called health dept on them myself and got an inspector out when I was living there) YES there is mold in these apartments (i asked to replace my Windows cuz it was on my windows they said some excuse to not do it, it gets so freezing cold inside the apartment on cold days.. Meaning extremely hot on hot days) YES alot of procrastination when doing any repairs ( My double yearly inspection was last month December and the inspection lady said i would get new kitchen glazing.. Did that happen while living here? Nope) YES very passive aggressive YES she'll defend the homeless walking around the back of the parking lot in which i have reported but her best line yet "There's nothing I can do" She has diverted me to Home Depot multiple times to make my own repairs for blinds or knobs in the kitchen. Last straw cuz theres many other situations she has harassed me. I told her there was a neighbor who was looking into my truck while i sat in my parking spot ( which i have found puncture holes inside my dirty bag of clothes ) She says to me leave the neighbor lady alone and to start to keeping my bag of dirty clothes inside my truck instead. Also saw this neighbor talkin to homeless outside the apartments then saw homeless inside the complex walking around the back parking lot near the garbage bins. ( i have reported those homeless her line "theres nothing i can do" ) But I can go into more stories to share but I'll write a book or something My advice if you want a headache rent here. If you have the mental strength to deal with this place go for it. Other than i Do not expect my deposit back. I'd rather none of this management or property come in contact with me again on account the constant harassment Mrs. Gabriela Linares instilled upon me.. Thanks Covina Palms for driving me out. Hello, these apartments are too deceiving. Yes their units are big. But here is a list of stuff that arose while living here; Roaches alot of them Moldy windows and walls Flooding had to replace my carpet multiple times cuz it was either the bathroom flooded or the kitchen sink. Harassment when landlady spoke about almost anything regarding the apartment complex Threats to call police when visitors came to help my very sick wife. Unit will get super freezing when its cold outside. Unit will got Hot hot if the weather is hot outside Repairs were done sloppy with old maintenance man. 2 inspections yearly to check smoke alarms and or needed repairs, was supposed too have kitchen counters glazed over and new stove vent: only got new vent along with lots of dead roaches/plus roach poop falling from old stove top vent Landlady told my wife to not allow kids outside to play cuz they were too loud. Not family friendly. One disclosure also we have reported all needed repairs my mistake of not writing a letter regarding any if those repairs because landlady would not care do difficult repairs. Another thing if your staying near the back of the apartment complex and that back door is broken it will slam shut so loudly my unit window would shake and wake me and my wife up at 1am, 2am, 3am, 4am, 5am. Also never heard or seen a Jennifer that will answer this yelp review. Fyi these are all true incidents that occured, I also have before& after pictures of all repairs made in that unit. So if you would like a major nerve wrecking headache go rent there if you want. That landlady is pretty passive aggressive. Good luck. read more
