    Medium chocolate cone $3.99.

Nothing is ever as good as we remember it. Nostalgia is that way. Having said that, Covina Tasty is open again. The gentleman who made my chocolate cone was quick & friendly. I enjoyed it on a hot day. It hit the spot. Let's agree that's it's good to see a local business make a 2nd effort. Give the guy a break & go try him again. It won't be as good as you remember but it is here and now. We don't need more 7-Eleven's.

Today is December 16th 2025 and there is a grand reopening sign on the front windows. The inside looks like it's been repainted and cleaned up, but the old owner I do not see. The gentleman of the counter has limited English, and seems to speak only Chinese. The biggest downfall is the dipped cones no longer exist. Me and my son were excited to see that they were open, but were a little disappointed by the quality of the ice cream overall.

Not sure if this spot offers food, there was allot of traffic for the deserts from what I could see. The building looks pretty run down but as long as the deserts were tasty I didn't mind how the establishment looked on the outside. Bought 2 singles cones it was about $5.00 not bad cause nowadays it's almost $5 for just one! There was only 1 worker did what needed to be done and we were on our to enjoying our treat!

Love that I found this spot so randomly! I only frequent covina to visit family & I love hunting for vegan friendly food & stumbled upon this gem ! I call them the fosters freeze for vegans . They have burgers , ice creams , shakes , fries, egg rolls that most you'll find to be fully vegan! I was so impressed ! It's honestly hard to find vegan spots as such . Got a custom shake with strawberries & chocolate yum ! Loved their burgers ! They are literally like a fosters freeze where you order at the window & up to you if you want to dine in ther outside dining area , I usually dine in my car in situations like this ! They were also very nice at the window especially my first time when I was just gawking at everything on their menu . Seems like their a known establishment to the community but as a vegan food hunter I was really impressed !

They have a updated the menu style but the ice cream is as good as always. I got the onion rings which were sweet and salty crispy, the strawberry malt which was so good and creamy, the sundae with butterfinger was perfect!!!! The chocolate banana was a little old so wasn't my favorite so I think I'll stick to the ice cream!

Service bad by the young lady. In a rush Ordered a chocolate covered Sunday and instead got it in a cup because she said she couldn't wait bc she had other orders bad customer service also rude at the window towards other customers

Came back here for some ice cream on a hot day I use to come when the old man use to work here Which was like 20 years ago. Now it's a lot of younger guys It is different a bit but overall it's still good So many memories !

I tasted and returned the chili dog - the chili is patently hideous. I was promptly given a refund of $6.16.

The gelato is velvety & soft with prominent flavor profiles. It's tasty. (Important Note: Bring cash. Card has a small additional fee, about 3.5% extra. Also, there's no flavor sampling.) I arrived at Il Gusto (West Covina) on Monday (around 7:29pm). This location shares the busy parking plaza by 85 Degrees (West Covina). Fortunately, it was easy to find parking this evening. Staff is professional and helpful. Staff worked quickly, and staff answered all my questions. Line went very fast despite a group being ahead of me. As mentioned, I ordered the Medium Cup (2 Scoops - $8). I selected a milk chocolate scoop and a cookies-flavored scoop. Portion sizes are fair and adequate for its quality. The flavors are delicious. The milk chocolate scoop reminded me of rich, dark chocolate milk. Its consistency felt very velvety, and its strong chocolate flavor almost teetered towards chocolate brownie territory. The cookie-flavored scoop was very tasty as well. This scoop flowed smoothly, and I happily enjoyed the soft cookie chunks within. This had a milder taste, but it felt very satisfying. This gelato was not icy; rather, it had delightful flavors while flowing like chilled silk. Concerning ambiance, Il Gusto (West Covina) shows genuine effort. The location is very clean and well-ventilated (refreshingly chill). I also enjoyed the Elvis Presley music. However, the music was occasionally drowned out from the loud electronic buzzing/humming sounds from the kitchen's containers. Also, some portions of the walls and floors looked scuffed with black marks. Il Gusto (West Covina) is also fairly small. It has three reflective tables inside; customer-only restroom; and three nearby shaded tables outside. Overall, I had a pleasant experience at Il Gusto (West Covina). Its prices are adequate, the gelato is a good quality, and the staff is hardworking & helpful. If nearby, I recommend. 4.6 out of 5

The store has a limited number of seating indoors and a few outdoors. Many great flavors available with creative names and as with more parlors, sampling is encouraged. As a side note, their apparel merchandise continue to offer a mix of silly, quirky, and stylish, especially their Anti Diet Diet Club designs. The Matcha Berry Crunch flavor is solid with a mellowed creamy flavor with no noticeable bitterness. The crunchy bits made for a uniquely enjoyable experience, as the scoop was covered with these mini morsels and remind me of rice krispies. Ironically, Churro Boss (Covina) offers better quality ice cream than churros. I arrived at Churro Boss (Covina) on Sunday (around 2:35PM). Staff is very welcoming and attentive. Staff speaks English and Spanish. Staff answered all my questions. I ordered the Churro Sundae ($10). This dessert includes one scoop of ice cream and two six inch churros. I selected the Chocolate Malted Crunch ice cream scoop. The entire dessert was ready in eight minutes and 16 seconds. The dessert arrived picturesque. The Churro Sundae ($10) is attractive and fairly large; however, its taste is underwhelming. Although it felt like the churros were made-to-order in the backroom, the churros tasted bitter, chewy, and overcooked. These churros also lacked sweetness. Rather, these big churros tasted like chunky breadcrumbs. Fortunately, the Chocolate Malted Crunch ice cream scoop tasted delicious! It had an addictive crumbly texture. The ice cream also carried a chill and creamy chocolate flavor. Regarding ambiance, Churro Boss (Covina) is lackluster. It feels empty. The only seating is one long counter which had splotchy dried stains and crumbs. The location also has no restroom. Customers need to use their bottle of hand sanitizer or napkins if searching to clean their hands. There's two electric wall sockets in the far corner. And steady country music played in the background. Churro Boss (Covina) tries to be be modern and minimalistic. Overall, Churro Boss (Covina) offers tasty ice cream and pleasant service. They let me know all the different desserts and options. They also explained pricing and availability to me. They showed me all the different toppings that they have for not just ice cream and sundaes, but crêpes as well. Considering I walked in here, thinking that this was strictly an ice cream place, they have a very large menu. One thing that I remember very fondly about my visit here was not that there were a lot of people here, but the people that were dining in, they were mostly families with children. That may not seem like an important thing, but to me, seeing that is precious More often than not, you see children, their parents, and even their parents parents. So sometimes you get a small group of people, but really you have three generations. Quality time like that is absolutely precious and to see them so engaged in conversation with one another and laughing the entire time and sharing dessert, that was so awesome. Sharing ice cream with my dad at an ice cream parlor near our home is a very fond memory for me. So I guess that's why I paid attention to this while we died at scoop Street. When I took a moment to take a step back and look at our little family, we also were there in our lil three generational group: me, my kiddo & my Mom. The prices here are more than reasonable. The ice cream that is used for their desserts is from thrifty. The waffle cones are made in house and smell amazing. There really wasn't anything more than I could've asked of this visit to the ice cream shop. This was so special. Servers: Art & Austin
