I've been seeing a few of these stores opening up in my neighborhood. Finally decided to give it a try because my gf and I were craving some yummy drinks. Popped into this store in Azusa, it was a Saturday afternoon with about 3 workers and maybe a couple of customers. The store is pretty big so social distancing is easy. There are so many choices I needed a few extra minutes to decided what I wanted to get. Then I had to break it down to drinks, smoothies, slushies, ice cream and the list goes on. I ended up getting Michelaguas with Watermelon juice. It was quite refreshing, just a right amount of sour, sweet and tart. My gf got the chamango, it was a bit different from what we've had before. We didn't expect it to have shaved in in there. But it didn't matter before she finished the drink before she even got home. I haven't tried the paletas, but they looked so pretty and tasty.

Yesterday, 12/28, my sister and I went to this place for ice cream. I ordered a double scoop and it looks like I ordered a single. I asked the lady why there was a little bit of ice cream and she said that supposedly her "manager" had scolded all the employees because they served "a lot of ice cream." So we left it like that and more customers arrived asking for a double scoop and they were given more. Don't go to this place because they don't have good service, or maybe the lady who was serving us didn't like us because we asked for 3 samples, but if they didn't want to give us they should of told us. My sister and I work in customer service and we don't treat customers like that.

Every single piece of the fruit and its toppings were fresh and crisp. Not one single bad bite. I was surprised. Absolutely wonderful!

If I could give them zero stars I would . Worst Michoacána location I've ever been to. Everyone working here looked miserable af. We weren't greeted, I was skipped & others who walked in after me got helped first. When I brought it up to their attention , their attitude became so obvious. I had ordered tostilocos & their anger was clearly taken out on them lol. I'll post a pic so you guys can see. Also, their variety is horrible. Don't waste your time coming here, just drive down Azusa ave & go to La Michoacána in Covina instead. Wayyyyyy better service & double the options.

Ooo. Their ice cream is so good. I had the elote, it had bits of corn in it and was very tasty. My sister had abuelita chocolate and it was the bomb dot com. They had so many more things to eat there too. I wanted to try so many more things.

We came in at a great time! Only one other customer was there so we didn't have to wait. The woman that helped was patient since I couldn't make up my mind, yet again. But we chose a fresa de leche paleta, piña con chile, and a small esquite. The fresa paleta was sooooo delicious! I could eat it forever. The piña paleta was a little spicy but delicious. And the esquite was too good and so easy to eat. They have a little sign that says to leave a review for 10% off so e told them we would and they just gave the 10% off. That was pretty nice! We love it here! It's one of the best Michoacanas in the area. The only issue is that they really need to post their prices. The prices seem to change every time we visit, and most items don't have prices listed. Many of the signs are covered with tape, which makes it confusing to know how much things cost. read more

Corn on the cob for $4 for small and $6.50 for large. Where's the corn man when you need him?! These prices go higher every time I come To one of these places!! It's crazy!! These corns are $0.25 at the market!! I need to start my own business and sell these bad boys!! The mark up is insane! Came to this one cuz it's a lot less crowded here. The other one a few blocks away had a line out the door and the air was out!! Only two women working so I left that one. This one has a very short line compared to other one. When you walk in, you are slapped in the face with the stench of dirty feet that penetrates your mask with ease. The air is thick, and barely breathable. The staff were friendly and said welcome. Ordering is easy enough. There is so much to choose from. The white chalk board advertised corn for 4.00. I ordered a corn with no hot Cheetos or chili. I was rung up for a corn with hot Cheetos. It was $9.50 for just the corn. I also bought 2 paletas and a scoop of ice cream, and together all of that was $8. Which was reasonable. But How do they justify charging $9.50 for a corn that costs $0.10? Inflation isn't that bad I don't come to these places often, but I for sure won't come back to this location ever. The elote man sells corn for 2.75, and other michoacana locations charge way less than that. read more

I have only been here once and this review is only based on my bad experience with the one thing I ordered. I stopped by for a bionico and all I can say is that it was TRASH. The cream (which is what gives the mix fruit the flavor) was super watery like she was serving milk on top of fruit, the flavor was like I was eating super sugary milk. As far as I know bionicos are supposed to be made with cream not milk. read more

What can I say, I'm a fan of all things Hispanic and I'm a fan of all things snack! La Michoacana provides both! Their colorful array of ice cream and paletas are sure to satisfy anyone. Whether you're more of a traditional vanilla type or a daring chamango connoisseur, they have a flavor for everyone! Plus, they also sell a bunch of other goodies such as elote, esquite, tostilocos, etc. As far as cleanliness...I would say they definitely have it figured out and service was good as well. You better believe I will be returning soon! read more

One of my favorite things is Mexican ice cream and I love chamango but finding out that mangoneada is the one with ice cream instead of shaved ice makes it 5x better. Gotta come here to test out Mexican ice cream. read more

This Michoacana Ice Cream Parlor is like any other. The only thing different is they are most likely more considerate when it comes to the amount of things you want when you order something complicated like a manzana loca. The best!!! This place used to be good. But the lady serving has absolutely no customer service. It also smells really bad now. Like if all their fruit has gone bad. I would not trust this place anymore. Time to find a new place. read more

I would always come here to get there agua Fresca de horchata . And today I go and get it and as I'm drinking my drink I feel something chewy which was weird because the Nunez are hard , so I take it out and it's a maggot!! In my drink!!! I got so disgusted !! the location is clean, the staff friendly and quick service. after we walked in more folks showed up. the ladies behind the counter worked quickly to get to everyone. the hubs and I had a strawberry raspado and the complimentary lemonade with chia and cucumber, sons both had double scoop icecream in the flavors of cotton candy and bubble gum. another young one had the mangoneada which he said was very tasty. my sis-in-law had the guava ice cream which she said was tasty as well. prices are comparable to other michoacana's. we enjoyed it. thanks! read more

We have been here twice in one week! The first time we had aguas frescas with Chile and Chamoy, elotes and nachos. Quick and delicious! Yesterday we got aguas frescas (sandia, and limon con pepino y chia). I also wanted to buy a few paletas to take home but it was about 95 degrees outside and I didn't want them to melt. The girl who helped us was nice enough to pack them with ice for me. Even after a 15 minute drive the paletas were still perfect! Great experience both times with quick service and friendly staff. read more

Not coming here again. I've been to other Michoacana's and they actually give you your money's worth. I ordered fresas con crema and the lady didn't even fill it up like other locations. To top it off, the crema tasted nasty. Other locations have always tasted fresh and sweet this one tasted a bit sweet with a hint of like medicine. I doubt that was made today. No wonder this location was empty. That should've been my warning. read more

Been here twice & I still love it. I mostly get ice cream but will be back soon to try the other snacks they have. The ice cream flavors I've tried from here were the abuelita chocolate, Ferrero rocher, lime, & chicle. They all were super good. You can ask to try out any flavor you want and they don't care how many times you ask, they always give great customer service. You can order a milkshake with any of their ice cream flavors & they have a good variety so things seem like they could never get boring I suggest you come try it out if you have a sweet tooth or even just have the munchies, it's definitely worth trying. read more

She quickly wrapped two napkins around it and handed it to me. I am telling you, it was a disaster. I asked for more napkins and she handed me one more. It was leaking so bad, that made it almost inedible. I did my best to eat around and control the mess. The chocolate was horrible tasting and clumped everywhere. I got up and threw it in the trash. Went back to the window, but she was nowhere to be found. After I got into my car to pull away, I noticed she was in a little side room sitting at a table. This really is unfortunate. My kids and I used to love coming to this place. Hopefully, this review will help them improve.

Despite his tact, she took that as an opportunity to go on a tangent of excessive profanity and slurs. I think it's very telling about the type of people who work at Penny that they value maintaining a safe and welcoming environment even in the face of bullying and harassment. Unfortunately, my experience with the shop changed because of repeated interactions with the store manager, Adam and the event that had just happened. I want the owners to be aware of concerns I have regarding the atmosphere created by management. On multiple occasions, I have heard Adam speak negatively about the owners and other baristas in front of customers. I have also experienced him bringing personal and political opinions into conversations while working, which I feel creates an uncomfortable/unprofessional environment. He works every Monday so I can't even sit on the only couch and drink my coffee in peace, he's always talking nonsense and forcing his personal opinions down my throat. He never stops talking, and if you try to share your opinion, he talks right over you. He has a veryyy hard time accepting viewpoints that differ from his own. He's honestly on some sort of power trip. The most concerning incident occurred recently when Adam yelled in my face while inside the coffee shop!! Then the other barista, David got involved with his encouragement during this interaction. They surrounded me and were trying to intimidate me together and at that time there were no other customers in the store, and when I tried to speak to them to tell them to stop yelling at me- they went at me harder to the point I had to literally run out of the shop bc I didn't feel safe there. It's the first time I have ever had two men corner me and yell at me- it was honestly traumatizing. After leaving, I informed David that I would never be returning. I believed that would be the end of the situation. However, David provided Adam with my personal phone number without my permission, and Adam contacted me by text after I had already left the store in an effort to intimidate me further. During that exchange, Adam also accused me of being racist. I found it completely inappropriate that my personal information was shared without my consent so that a workplace conflict could continue outside of the store. I also want to address an issue with David. Throughout my visits, you have repeatedly attempted to hug me or touch me when I came into the shop. Regardless of your intentions, this made me uncomfortable. Customers should not be touched without their consent. I also work in the business of customer service, and I understand the importance of professionalism. I would never speak negatively about my employer to customers, push personal or political views on people supporting my business, yell at a customer, or use a customer's personal information to continue a confrontation after they leave. It's disappointing because I did like this coffee shop and wanted to continue supporting it. However, my experiences with Adam and David traumatized me. I hope the owners take these concerns seriously and address them so other customers do not have similar experiences.
