    watermelon michelaguas & chamango.
    Lily T.

I've been seeing a few of these stores opening up in my neighborhood. Finally decided to give it a try because my gf and I were craving some yummy drinks. Popped into this store in Azusa, it was a Saturday afternoon with about 3 workers and maybe a couple of customers. The store is pretty big so social distancing is easy. There are so many choices I needed a few extra minutes to decided what I wanted to get. Then I had to break it down to drinks, smoothies, slushies, ice cream and the list goes on. I ended up getting Michelaguas with Watermelon juice. It was quite refreshing, just a right amount of sour, sweet and tart. My gf got the chamango, it was a bit different from what we've had before. We didn't expect it to have shaved in in there. But it didn't matter before she finished the drink before she even got home. I haven't tried the paletas, but they looked so pretty and tasty.

    watermelon popsicle w hair. yikes.

2 stars for food contamination. service was prompt and really friendly, however, nearly at my last bites, a hair strand was frozen into the popsicle, meaning i was eating a popsicle w a hair inside of it the whole time w out realizing it. it's one of the most disgusting feelings. im not sure i trust the cleanliness of the preparation anymore, not sure if i would go back. Would anyone after chewing on foreign hair? really gross.

This is what "2 scoops" looks like!

Yesterday, 12/28, my sister and I went to this place for ice cream. I ordered a double scoop and it looks like I ordered a single. I asked the lady why there was a little bit of ice cream and she said that supposedly her "manager" had scolded all the employees because they served "a lot of ice cream." So we left it like that and more customers arrived asking for a double scoop and they were given more. Don't go to this place because they don't have good service, or maybe the lady who was serving us didn't like us because we asked for 3 samples, but if they didn't want to give us they should of told us. My sister and I work in customer service and we don't treat customers like that.

Usually I never come here but the other one was closed. I ordered a biónico with no apple or melon and I got just strawberries and banana... it's usually papaya banana and strawberries and I paid $12 for it?!?!? Nah never again. This is just mediocre.

Every single piece of the fruit and its toppings were fresh and crisp. Not one single bad bite. I was surprised. Absolutely wonderful!

    Churronieve w/ elote
    Gabriella S.

The churronieve was delicious and the Abuelita flavored ice paired nicely with it. The customer service was great, however the elote we were served was cold and lacked chili.

I love the ice cream! Oh and the corn prepared is sooo good! I highly recommend this fun place!

They try to call these tostilocos. Where are all the toppings???

If I could give them zero stars I would . Worst Michoacána location I've ever been to. Everyone working here looked miserable af. We weren't greeted, I was skipped & others who walked in after me got helped first. When I brought it up to their attention , their attitude became so obvious. I had ordered tostilocos & their anger was clearly taken out on them lol. I'll post a pic so you guys can see. Also, their variety is horrible. Don't waste your time coming here, just drive down Azusa ave & go to La Michoacána in Covina instead. Wayyyyyy better service & double the options.

    Georgiane F.

Ooo. Their ice cream is so good. I had the elote, it had bits of corn in it and was very tasty. My sister had abuelita chocolate and it was the bomb dot com. They had so many more things to eat there too. I wanted to try so many more things.

The lady that was taking the orders was hard to understand. She handed me a disheveled piece of paper and I pointed out an ice cream cone swirl with chocolate and vanilla, it was three dollars. I ask about chocolate dip she said yes six dollars. That seemed like quite a jump, but we want, what we want. I paid and ordered. What a mess! The cone did not come dipped. It looked like she scooped chocolate sauce on top and it ran down the cone everywhere. Also, because the chocolate was hot. The ice cream also was melting all the way down the cone. She quickly wrapped two napkins around it and handed it to me. I am telling you, it was a disaster. I asked for more napkins and she handed me one more. It was leaking so bad, that made it almost inedible. I did my best to eat around and control the mess. The chocolate was horrible tasting and clumped everywhere. I got up and threw it in the trash. Went back to the window, but she was nowhere to be found. After I got into my car to pull away, I noticed she was in a little side room sitting at a table. This really is unfortunate. My kids and I used to love coming to this place. Hopefully, this review will help them improve.

The employees at the register often come across as unfriendly and unwelcoming. They rarely greet customers, say "hello," or smile, which makes the overall experience feel less inviting. Another ongoing issue is that they frequently run out of popular ice cream flavors or are only accepting cash. If these situations come up, it would be helpful if they posted updates on social media so customers know before making the trip. Ironically, Churro Boss (Covina) offers better quality ice cream than churros. I arrived at Churro Boss (Covina) on Sunday (around 2:35PM). Staff is very welcoming and attentive. Staff speaks English and Spanish. Staff answered all my questions. I ordered the Churro Sundae ($10). This dessert includes one scoop of ice cream and two six inch churros. I selected the Chocolate Malted Crunch ice cream scoop. The entire dessert was ready in eight minutes and 16 seconds. The dessert arrived picturesque. The Churro Sundae ($10) is attractive and fairly large; however, its taste is underwhelming. Although it felt like the churros were made-to-order in the backroom, the churros tasted bitter, chewy, and overcooked. These churros also lacked sweetness. Rather, these big churros tasted like chunky breadcrumbs. Fortunately, the Chocolate Malted Crunch ice cream scoop tasted delicious! It had an addictive crumbly texture. The ice cream also carried a chill and creamy chocolate flavor. Regarding ambiance, Churro Boss (Covina) is lackluster. It feels empty. The only seating is one long counter which had splotchy dried stains and crumbs. The location also has no restroom. Customers need to use their bottle of hand sanitizer or napkins if searching to clean their hands. There's two electric wall sockets in the far corner. And steady country music played in the background. Churro Boss (Covina) tries to be be modern and minimalistic. Overall, Churro Boss (Covina) offers tasty ice cream and pleasant service. As mentioned, I ordered the Medium Cup (2 Scoops - $8). I selected a milk chocolate scoop and a cookies-flavored scoop. Portion sizes are fair and adequate for its quality. The flavors are delicious. The milk chocolate scoop reminded me of rich, dark chocolate milk. Its consistency felt very velvety, and its strong chocolate flavor almost teetered towards chocolate brownie territory. The cookie-flavored scoop was very tasty as well. This scoop flowed smoothly, and I happily enjoyed the soft cookie chunks within. This had a milder taste, but it felt very satisfying. This gelato was not icy; rather, it had delightful flavors while flowing like chilled silk. Concerning ambiance, Il Gusto (West Covina) shows genuine effort. The location is very clean and well-ventilated (refreshingly chill). I also enjoyed the Elvis Presley music. However, the music was occasionally drowned out from the loud electronic buzzing/humming sounds from the kitchen's containers. Also, some portions of the walls and floors looked scuffed with black marks. Il Gusto (West Covina) is also fairly small.
