[[HIGHLIGHT]]Don't be surprised if you pull up and immediately smell the delicious aroma of all the baked goods coming from this little donut shop![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Chances are they are pulling fresh croissants in and out of their ovens as they simultaneously packing and taking orders! Parking: shared lot with other businesses. We found parking right away. We came around 8:45/9?am on a Sunday morning and grabbed a few ham and cheese croissants, a few mini sugar croissants, a glazed donut and an apple fritter. The ham and cheese croissant was delicious but the one we got with the jalapeños hit the spot. The spiciness cut through the gooey cheese inside. The donut was fresh and the only thing I wish were different were the size of the apple pieces in the apple fritter. They were a tad too tiny for my preference. The mini sugar croissants weren't like if a croissant and a churro had a baby, it was dusted with sugar and so tasty with all of its flaky buttery goodness. The staff here are super efficient too, we were in and out of there in less than 10 mins I think. Bring cash if you want to avoid paying the surcharge! Stop by if you're in the area! You won't be disappointed! (:

I saw Munchkins ranked #3 on the Top 50 donut shops in the US according to Elites, so I knew I had to try it. While most donut shops are known for, well, donuts, Munchkins is particularly well-known for its croissants, especially the ham and cheese and ham, cheese, and jalapeño varieties. The owners are so friendly, and you are greeted with a lovely smile. I came for the Ham, Cheese, and Jalapeño Croissant, and it was warm fresh out of the oven. The owner cut it in half on a plate for me and my wife without even asking, which was a nice touch, and she gave us two samples as we were thinking about getting more croissants for our family. OMG, the Ham, Cheese, and Jalapeño Croissant is MASSIVE and oozes with cheesy goodness. The outer shell is incredibly flaky, shedding flakes with every bite. The flakiness is truly impressive. They might not win awards for the best French-style croissants, but their croissants are better than any other donut shop's. That's the truth! I tried the cinnamon sugar croissant, and it was heavenly. I could have easily eaten a whole box of them while snuggled under a blanket. Unfortunately, my wife put a stop to my croissant cravings. :( Honestly, I would visit at least once a week if I lived closer, but it's too far for me to become a regular. Maybe one day! Those of you who live nearby, I'm so jealous! Munchkins is absolutely worth visiting if you consider yourself a croissant aficionado. When you're in the area, you must come here. I promise that no matter what mood you were in when you came, you will leave with a smile.

First time here, and I can see why my boyfriend's family comes all the time! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The service and atmosphere was so warm and welcoming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I tried the ham and cheese croissant with jalapeños and wow it was absolutely delicious. I would definitely come back just for that alone! Was given some few treats thanksful for that! So yummy would definitely recommend!

Just wow! The best jalapeno, ham, and cheese croissant I've ever had. The croissant was sooo flaky- I definitely had to vacuum my car after but the buttery flakes were everything. The cheese was thick but not gummy. The size was perfect. Honestly as someone whose guilty pleasure is ham and cheese croissants from donut shops, this place is THE spot. I came, like many, after seeing a video of this place. I live locally but have never stopped by before. There was a line, but that's to be expected after going viral. The inside is small but all the people behind the counter are kind and work fast. The sugar raised donut was classic and the cinnamon sugar croissant was good too. So happy to find my new go-to spot.

This donut shop does it right every single time. Everything made here is AMAZING! Croissants and donuts are delicious, fresh, soft, and well-made. The croissants are flaky, large, and so full of flavor. The jalapeno and cheese croissants are the best I have EVER had anywhere. This small, family-owned shop is so popular that it is highly rated on Yelp year after year. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You will ALWAYS find a line of 5+ customers as long as they are open.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This donut shop sells out of donuts and croissants daily! Definitely worth a visit.

If you are in the mood for a flaky buttery golden brown pastry that is filled with savory ham, and gooey melted cheese, then stop by Munchkin's Donuts. Their croissants have crisp, golden brown exterior that crackles when you bite into it, and definitely leaves a mess everywhere. They are flaky soft, and airy, with distinct delicate layers that don't stick together, boasting a rich-not too sweet flavor. They always have a satisfying crunch outside with a tender center. Munchkin's croissants and donuts NEVER disappoint. Service is always excellent, and with a smile. This is definitely the best donut shop in Covina.

I'm surprised that I might be the only one who experienced or noticed this but their croissants were undercooked. When my kid said it tasted funny, I split the ham and cheese croissant in half and noticed the dough was still raw in the center. I bought 4 ham and cheese and they were all undercooked. I devoured the jalapeño ham and cheese croissant, which I only got one. It was delicious but I did think the "cheese" (most likely raw dough) was a little weird. Regardless, it was yummy. If you must try them, check the inside and just reheat it in the oven. And just get the jalapeño ham and cheese.

Stopped by Munchkins after knowing about this spot since last year. I was looking for something suitable to bring to a potluck so I came here to get a dozen of items. I went at a Saturday at around 10 am and wasn't surprised to see it was busy. There were decent enough parking spots, but this is a shop store. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's a few seating inside but definitely better fit for a grab and go.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There were two ladies working behind the counter that were friendly to help with my order. As I browsed their selection, I left with a dozen of donuts and croissants. Photos didn't capture all of them, but I left with quite a variety such as chocolate, sugar coated, maple bar, etc. When it came to the ham & cheese croissants and jalapeno ones, I needed to wait 5 minutes for them to finish baking. Seems these were popular demand as more folks asked for it when they walked in. I received great remarks on the items from my friends who finished them all as well! I personally tried the ham & cheese croissant and felt it was decently worth the wait! Definitely keeping this spot in mind for the next potluck! This store does accept American Express.

Their ham and (jalapeño) cheese croissant is my all time favorite and the best here! Freshly baked, flaky, and the gooey cheese is to die for! No wonder they're always a hit! Glazed donuts here are wayyyyy better than any other donut shops! Pro tip: Call to order the ham and cheese that way it's ready to pick up. Also, get there early since they do sell out on their donuts! Overall, this is my go to!!!! **they usually stash a few donuts or mini croissants with your order ;)

tl;dr despite its name, this donut shop's signature is the ham-and-cheese croissant; it's the best you've never heard of Ten minutes off the 10 freeway, past downtown Covina, is the unassuming, mom-and-pop-run Munchkins Donut Shop. Few would guess that this hole-in-the-wall is Yelp's #1 recommended croissant spot in the United States, but the steady stream of regular customers certainly wouldn't be surprised. Munchkins shares a cramped strip mall with a diner and a plus-sized boutique. A neon coffee shop sign and countless Styrofoam coffee cups dominate the front window. Inside, the long bakery display stretches the length of the narrow room. Two-seater laminated tables and stainless steel chairs line the right-hand windows. Worn fluorescent lights cast a warm glow across the already sepia-toned room. The counters and far walls are cluttered with homey knick-knacks. My partner and I arrived on a Saturday to join the stalwart contingent of mid-morning regulars. We ordered the signature ham-cheese-and-jalapeno croissant, two donuts, and a mini croissant. On a generous whim, the friendly owner surprised us with 4 complimentary mini croissants. We were most impressed by the specialty croissant. The pastry remained light and flaky against the melty cheese. The slightly sweet jalapeno was a delicious contrast to the rich, salty filling. Meanwhile, the apple fritter sported the perfect dense texture and a heavy glaze; however, it wasn't particularly apple-y. Lastly, the old-fashioned was equally well-glazed and notably buttermilk-y. The prices were eyebrow-raisingly low; our collection ran under $10. The donuts fell on the better side of standard: alone, they would make Munchkins an easy 4-star donut shop. But the excellent croissant and standout service earn Munchins a well-deserved 5-star review. While I don't anticipate going out of my way to pay Munchins another visit, it's a no-brainer option if I am already in the neighborhood.

I've been coming to this spot throughout the years. I used to work in LA and would stop on my way to the Metrolink train station. Recently, TD, CM for SGV, bought several dozen donuts to treat Elite All-Stars at a Yelp dinner. It reminded me that I was overdue for another visit to this spot. I was so surprised the lady recognized me and asked if I had moved. I said Yes, but I was back. On Saturday, June 28, 2025 I came by for a donut; however, Ham and Cheese Croissant just came out of the oven. It was Large and reasonably priced at $5. The bread was soft inside, yet a little crunchy on top. The ratio of ham, cheese and jalapeno was just right, not too spicy at all. It was a good choice, I will have to return for donuts next time. Sincerely, Rosemary

Munchkin's Donuts is 100% worth the hype! The jalapeño ham and cheese croissant was so warm, flaky and cheesy and was also very filling. The cinnamon sugar donut was also very light and airy, just what I was looking for in a yeast donut. The owners were even so kind to put in a chocolate cake donut and some cinnamon sugar croissants for free! Highly recommend this donut spot.

Munchkins is one of my favorite donut shops ever! I'll always find time to support them and recommend them whenever I get a chance. I'll frequent coming here for my usual Jalapeño Ham & Cheese Croissants! Whether it's early in the morning or towards the end of my work day. I like to pop in for a quick bite of these amazing croissants. The flakiness, the crispiness, the crunchiness and the freshness of their croissants seriously separates them from rest. Also, the complimentary surprise mini croissants in the to go bag or when dining in is always a thoughtful gesture. :) Their customer service is always friendly and they are always smiling no matter what time of day. Their genuine hospitality and good-natured personalities are why the city locals continue to support them wholeheartedly! Thank you Munchkins Donuts. See you again soon!

Currently I am 8 months pregnant and I crave them everyday. I spoke with the manager about the troubling review and they brought up a very good point. Somebody's bad, inaccurate review could persuade new customers not to try it. That would be a disservice to anyone who loves donuts because they would be missing out. We felt so welcomed and immediately attended to and she really was so generous as well. We're absolutely coming back and have found ourselves a new go-to donut place!

(Important: If you use card, they require you to spend $5 or more.) Parking is competitive. It shares the plaza with the 85 degrees bakery, so there's many cars. Luckily, I quickly found a spot. When I'd arrived, nobody was behind the counter. Business had their lights dim. And the room felt humid and hot. Eventually, a Staff member acknowledged peaked from behind the back. Staff wouldn't sell me a donut unless I spent $5 or more, so I left. Staff then put the squished donut back behind their display case. Regardless, Donut options were low. And everything looked cracked. Sunrise Donuts (West Covina) was an uncomfortable experience. I am not a fan.

There's a 4% added fee on all card transactions.) I arrived at Rainbow Donuts (West Covina) on a weekend. Parking is EASY. The lot is very BIG. Staff is very businesslike, terse, and no-nonsense. The Staff member reminded me of that Seinfeld episode with the owner that cooked amazing soup. Staff quipped, "That All!?" when I asked for one donut, but I didn't mind too much the clipped response. As mentioned, I ordered the Sugar Donut ($2). It felt fluffier and a little bigger than other donuts. It's very tasty and fresh. I enjoyed each soft, sugary, & fluffy bite. On ambiance, Rainbow Donuts (West Covina) is very comfortable. The location is fairly clean with several tables. And the place felt chilly with a fresh airy ventilation. Everything looked very organized and well-maintained. Overall, I had a good time at Rainbow Donuts (West Covina). Staff is not the most friendly, but everything else is pretty good. It's a good choice. 4.7 out of 5

There's new menu screen inside but the layout is the same as it was before. I ordered 2 glazed donuts and paid with a credit card. There was a $1 charge for using a credit card. It wasn't posted anywhere but the man who rung me up did tell me prior to sliding my card. I said it was fine since he already had my donuts ready but that's so annoying to have a $1 charge on such a low purchase. I literally could walk next door to Dunkin's and have no fees. It feels like I'm being nickeled and dimed when I choose to support a small business over the chain. At the very least the donut was soft and delicious.

I arrived at Bumblebee Donuts 2 (Azusa) on the weekend. Parking is tough since the lot is very tiny. Luckily, I found a parking spot. Staff is friendly and patient. Staff happily answered my questions. Staff also worked hard. As mentioned, I ordered the Pink Sprinkle Donut ($1.80). It's a good quality donut. It's filling and satisfying for a quick sugar rush. YUM. On ambiance, Bumblebee Donuts 2 (Azusa) is busy and cramped. It felt very tiny. And there's only two tiny tables. The location is clean, but it's also very cluttered. I recommend if you're a local. 4.7 out of 5

I stopped by early this morning to pick up a dozen donuts for my coworkers, and they were a hit. The donuts were fresh, fluffy, and delicious. It's so fluffy!! (Important: Bring cash! There's a 50 cent fee for card.) I arrived at Azusa Donuts (Azusa) on Friday (around 7:05AM). Parking is easy. The lot is big . Staff is exceedingly personable and welcoming. "Good morning, my friend!" is a common phrase. Staff maintained a bright smile & playful attitude as sudden waves of customers poured in. Staff spoke English and Spanish. I was helped immediately. As mentioned, I enjoyed the Chocolate Heart w/ Sprinkles Donut ($2.00) and the Sugar Donut ($1.75). To my immense surprise, it all tastes very fresh. I adore how the Heart Donut's chocolate glaze comes wet and creamy; its sprinkles add a fun, light crackle. The Sugar Donut is even packed with plentiful sugar; sugar cascades down my chin with each greedy bite. Its fried batter tastes clean and fresh. These donuts are also very fluffy! "YUM!" Concerning ambiance, Azusa Donuts (Azusa) is simple and comfortable. There's a few indoor tables; however, I observed how most customers ordered to-go. It's fairly clean with shiny tables, crisp windows, and well-swept floors, but its interior is fairly generic. Azusa Donuts (Azusa) also has no customer restroom. And there's no music. This business's main sound derives from the loud, humming fridge. Fortunately, the cheerful & friendly greetings and banter from the staff helps alleviate the drab atmosphere. Overall, I found unexpected joy at Azusa Donuts (Azusa). During my visit, this spot felt like a guarded treasure by its locals. The goods are affordable; the staff is kind & welcoming; and its donuts are delicious. There's passion ringing within these walls. If nearby, I wholeheartedly recommend. 4.9 out of 5

If you see this spot open, don't think...just walk in and order at the little kiosks. That part is self serve and super easy to do. I ordered my normal coffee beverage a cold brew and added sweet cold foam for $1 extra. When I tell you the foam changed my life I'm not even kidding! It's so worth it!!!!! This cold foam was so thick it could save your life if you fell down. If you had a leaky faucet at home, just order some cold foam and it'll stop that drip in its tracks. Like this cold foam can save on plastic and help the environment because it's so thick you don't even need a lid! I wish I could upload a video. Just go try it please. So good! It's such an unassuming little coffee spot next to a laundry place and Chuck E. Cheese in a shopping center that doesn't look like anything special. The interior is minimal with slashes of green plants, some of which are for sale. I haven't tried any of the other coffee drinks because I'm a creature of habit so cold brew is all I need. But if you're in the area, check this spot out! If you get to taste this magical brown elixir sent from the heavens with a touch of foam cloud goodness, you'll be so happy you did. Thank Ventana Coffee for making my afternoon the best ever!
