Every once in a while we make a stop by cow chip if we are in the Kent area. This happened to be one of those days. There were a lot of cookie options and decided on grabbing a couple of the day old packs at 3.5/pack of 3 cookies. Definitely a great deal. The cookies are all really good. Who doesn't like a chocolate chip cookie? I got hip to these guys a decade ago when I worked in Pioneer Square. I used to tip toe in every day for a Nutty Calf. That is a chocolate ship cookie with a healthy portion of walnuts. I guess there story starts at The Puyallup Fair and my guess is in the midst of all the fair has to offer with scones, sno cones and Krusty Pups, getting a Cow Pie fresh out the oven is something that dreams are made of. I'll be honest, they don't taste as good as they did a decade ago, maybe I'm used to getting them warm and now they taste day old. Prices have also gone up. I buy them when they have a groupon or promotion. I take the cookie home and bake them for about 90 seconds to recreate that fresh out the oven experience. Great cookie, but not really work the high price that comes with it these days. Might be worth $3 at the fair, in downtown Kent these joints should be a buck. read more

Not sure if I went on an off day but the cookies were ok but i've defintely had better cookies, at least something more fresh. I read the reviews before mine and they all seem to give really positive reviews about the cookies. I've had better but it wasn't terrible. The service was great. The lady was super nice. This review is probably a bit bias because I like my cookies freshly baked and hot. So again I probably went on an off day/time. read more

Literally best place ever to buy cookies. Hands down. I also agree that coming an hour before close means you get the cookies that are now $3, which is a great deal. For everyone complaining, no they are not going to bake new, fresh cookies for you an hour before close. It doesn't matter which day it is. It not only doesn't make sense (you're potentially wasting so many cookies! Sometimes even the $3 deals don't sell out), but they would probably get rid of the $3 leftover deal and bake fresh cookies instead, which sounds great in theory until you want that Bull Chip at 8:30 for $3 instead. Wife was craving cow chips, so I stopped by at around 8 PM on sat. As I walked in, I knew the business closes at 9 PM, but still asked if they are still open as I was the only one inside. The lady at the counter gives me a look and tells me that she is closing soon so I need to hurry. Feeling bit confused at her rude comeback, I just decide to order 2 cookies. She put both cookies in the paper bag, I asked her if i can have a sticker in front to close the bag since I was planning to take it home. As soon as I asked, she says "ARE YOU GOING TO TIP ME?". I was shocked at her question & immediately told her I will not be tipping her based on her rude service I have received. I come to Cow Chip's every time I'm in Kent Station. I don't bake or buy cookies often so I don't mind paying the high prices. $1.50 for a cookie seems steep but they are baked fresh so you really can't complain. Of the 3 or 4 times I've been here I've never had bad service. It usually a younger girl working the front counter and she is always busy baking cookies when you walk in. She always grabs the freshest cookies available from the trays in the back. Overall great service. Honestly the cookies themselves aren't much to write home about. My favorite cookies are peanut butter and the PB cookies here aren't worth buying. Over 3 stars. Its a good idea that is pretty poorly executed. They should be going all out and coming up with some crazy cookie creations for the prices they are charging. If you are at Kent Station give them a try but I wouldn't make a special trip. read more

I ran a mile, weight-trained for 30 minutes, and sat in a frikkin' hot sauna for 20 minutes...I deserve a damn cookie to totally make up for all my hard work (plus the calories I lost)! So I told myself I'd get one after work. Conveniently located in Kent Station, and very close to the parking garage and AMC theatres, I walked into Cow Chip Cookies. And what the what!? A buck fitty for a cookie!?! And it's not like these were jumbo-sized cookies or anything...maybe only 3-4" diameter cookies, so the cost was pretty ridiculous. But because I was also on a diet (yet still indulging once in awhile) but didn't want to go overboard, I told myself I would only get one - that, and the cost would probably deter me from buying too many. Yeahhh...but after walking in, the aroma of baking cookies was very overpowering and I ended up walking out with three! Gah! I couldn't decide! I went for the mock Baby Ruth, the lemon sugar, and holiday sprinkle. The mock Baby Ruth is a twist from your standard chocolate chip cookie mixed with a the taste of a classic candy bar. The holiday sprinkle cookies are always cute! When I went, it was around Christmas/New Year's season, so the sprinkles were red, green, and white. As I'm writing this review, with V-Day coming up, the sprinkles are now white, pink, and red. However, I only thought the taste of this particular cookie was okay...it would be nicer if they frosted these! However, I'd have to say my favorite one is the lemon sugar cookies! LOVE!!! The hint of lemon on this sugar cookie is delightful and makes me feel like I can eat like ten of these! Throughout the day, of course, not all at once...pfft. A first-timer walking in here could be a little startled by the rates these cookies go for, especially if they used to buy nothing but Oreos and Chips Ahoy packs from Safeway for 2/$6. But believe me, these treats are totally worth it. And if you still think they're not, you can always wait for their Groupon which seems to show up a couple of times a year! Or you can always stop by and see if they have day-old cookies (which look just fine) and get 3 for $3 (for those with horrible math skills, that's one Georgie per cookie)! read more

I got a groupon for a dozen of cookies. I was in the area so I decided to drop in. The two ladies there told me that I should have called ahead in order to pick up the cookies. They were able to give me the dozen, but they did not seem very happy about the fact I didn't call ahead. I think the cookies were pretty yummy!.. but they are a bit overpriced without groupon.. BEST COOKIE EVER!! I First tried their cookies 6 months ago & ever since, I am hooked. I do agree w/other posters that $1.50/cookie is a bit high. the Nutty calf cookie is my favorite. I did have an "odd" experience once. I went once & requested 6 Nutty calf cookies. The employee made it seem as though she didn't want to give me the amount I was requesting. Like they prefer to dish out so many cookies at once. The employee informed me for large orders it's better that they're called in ahead of time so they can keep a stock of all flavors. Very good cookie. We got there shortly before close and we're able to get two of the regular cookies as "day-olds" for $4. Excellent cookies, decent service. It's definitely a grab-and-go kind of place- very small inside. I probably wouldn't make a special trip, but if you're already in the shopping center, worth stopping by. read more

Terrible service Saturday morning 9/4/20 1115am. The person working there was grumpy, didnt have any cookies ready and was extremely rude. Was she hung over!?!? On top if it, she was too lazy to repeat my order in the end once all cookies were bagged that she asked ME to repeat my order. Also, i requested two chocolate chip cookies, and she asked me what size. No cookies were on display so I showed her a size using my hands. She then just recited the sizes, " small, medium, or large". Im like.... im not sure... and again with my hands i showed her "about this size". Ive been here before, i just point at the size. Never paid attention to small, medium, or large. Mind you, theres mini cookies too, so i didnt know if small was mini???? Go there if you want to pay $2 per cookie and get terrible service with it. Cow chip cookies are great. I love everything about them. Unfortunately I have been unable to support the business because they don't seem to have any product when I go there. Somewhere between 45minutes to an 1 1/2 hrs before they close they stop making cookies. While I can appreciate the idea of not wasting product and controlling costs it has and will continue to limit the number of people who come into your store. There is nothing wrong with what the owners are doing I just wanted to let others know not to expect chocolate chip cookies from a business that is in business to sell them. I would make a simple suggestion to close earlier as to not have anymore customers have the experience of not being served an hour before you close on a Saturday as I have had several times recently. I love your cookies just not the way you do business. I can only voice my opinion by not spending money at your business which never seems to have what I want. Thank you. Update!!!!!!! Third try at buying cookies ,specifically chocolate chip cookies same answer as before non available 45 minutes before close on a Friday.
