We were really excited to try Cowbell Kitchen. We opted for placing an online order for pick up. My partner ordered the OG Veggie Breakfast Sammie with the vegan sausage (made locally by Just AJ's) and I did an a la carte order of toast, a fried egg, avocado, seasonal pickles (which were onions when I ordered), and curry ketchup. We got a chai and an earl grey latte. The online ordering was super easy and they texted me when the order was ready, right on time! They also wait to make your hot drinks until you pick up the food order, which I thought was great! Overall the food itself was fine. The bread they use is good and I really appreciate that they have some local ingredients. I had a good enough experience that I would try their baked goods or lunch menu, but will probably opt out of breakfast in the future. I also thought it was a bit expensive for what it was (and ordering a la carte was cheaper!) They have a nice little patio set up and most of the tables are set comfortably apart from one another. We enjoyed half our meal on the patio until a couple sat down at the table right next to us and the guy started coughing--that was our cue to leave. To me it seems like Cowbell Kitchen has a good, genuine positive energy and there's a lot of love that goes into it. read more

The BEST little cafe! Their food is homemade with fresh local ingredients. Not only that but it is DELICIOUS!! I've gotten the BLT multiple times. The sandwiches and flat breads are amazing but my favorite part had to be the tots with the most wonderful heavenly garlic aioli. I get a lavender latte every visit-the perfect treat! This place doesn't look like much when you walk past it. We checked it out during the Leesburg annual car show week for brunch. The place was packed, so we wanted to check it out. We stood in line for about 10 minutes & put in an order for their OG breakfast sandwich, veggie bowl and roasted chicken sandwich. All employees were super nice despite the fact that they were SO BUSY. Food was served pretty quickly. OG breakfast sandwich & veggie bowl were super delicious. Roasted chicken sandwich on other hand was mehh (it barely had any chicken on it.) It is definitely a nice spot to stop by if you want to grab something real quick. We will be back. You may have seen Cowbell Kitchen at the Farmers Market, but if you're craving their cookies did you know they have a shop where you can get everything they sell at the Farmers Market and MORE every day?! You can get wonderful made to order sandwiches, unique smoothie bowls made with persimmon, sweet potatoes and apples and (because this is their production shop) amazing desserts like almond cake fresh out of the oven! There's free WiFi and a lovely room upstairs with seating and unique gift items available for purchase. Only one actual table downstairs. But upstairs is nicer anyway. There's only one drawback, and that is that there's no parking on-site. There's a lot next door that we thought was shared between Cowbell Kitchen and another business, but it isn't. When we asked we were told that the neighboring business didn't mind the odd car parked as long as we didn't stay for hours. Since there was only 1 other car parked there I'd say it's probably fine for a quick visit, and better than attempting to find a spot on King which is always busy. However, there's a large public lot a couple of blocks away and the central garage is only a block or two beyond that if you'd like to stay longer. I was there with a foodie friend and between us we got one of almost every treat on offer. I tried the apple hand pies (light crisp crust and lightly sweet cinnamon apple filling), the filled Italian cookies (rich and decadent) and my friend tried fresh-from-the-oven almond cake, home-made Oreos, brownies, pop-tarts and rice krispy treats. Everything was simply delicious. The owner was there baking and we were lucky enough to be able to watch and get a few pointers. She was more than willing to chat and explain how things were made, which is such a treat. This is a gem of a bake-shop and cafe in the heart of historic Leesburg. Well worth a visit! read more

There's something about friends/family and home cooked spots that make food more delicious! This spot is very cute with a bunch of baked goods, breakfast/brunch food, and even a small store that sells various decorations and non food items. My girlfriend and I ordered the Biscuit sandwich with bacon eggs and cheese. They make the biscuit fresh and I believe had their own twist to it too. The biscuit was slightly dry but wasn't a big deal because of how much bacon eggs and cheese you get! The Quiche was semi watery and didn't really stay put when we were eating it, but the flavors were definitely there. This is a really nice homey spot to come in for a quick bite. I rarely give bad reviews, but wanted to give two or stars because of the waiting time, not because of the food or location. I was the only customer and I was waiting for a simple egg and cheese sandwich for half an hour while watching how all the staff (5+ people) making cookies, honestly, it was extremely frustrating I like my ciabatta OG breakfast and I like the outdoor setting, it's charming, but please if you open for breakfast have somebody full-time working on it. I had my breakfast sandwich on Ciabatta the first time and it was great. The other time I had it on the biscuit and it was so salty that I had to drink a gallon of water all day long. read more

We went here for breakfast with a party of 10 and our experience sucked. Our meals within the same order came out in three increments, 20 minutes apart. The food runners seem disorganized, delivering the wrong food and drinks to the wrong tables. Customers not being called by name and instead looking at them like hungry dogs to so if that food delivered was supposed to be for them. Don't bother expressing your concerns as all you will get is a list of operational mishaps that the customers don't really care about. You didn't open doors yesterday, get your sh** together. The food was okay at best. The biscuit I had was fresh but the eggs seemed microwaved. The coffee was just okay. The french toast was nothing special and I could have made that at home in 2 minutes. Everyone expressed that their food was mediocre at best and that if Chick-fil-A was open on a Sunday, it would have been a better option. read more

We stopped by on a Sunday around noon and it was lively, but we were able to easily find seating for 2. They have both indoor and outside seating options. Amazing and delicious breakfast!! My husband and I have been a few times and we just can't stay away. I usually get the bacon, egg and cheese on a biscuit and he gets the same on the sourdough. They are both incredible and are huge portions, too! The people are always extremely nice and helpful. I highly recommend checking it out. :) Also, to the person with the review saying that it's disgusting... clearly smoothie bowls just aren't for you because they are delicious! I don't normally order veggie burgers because they are just too bland, but this one was really tasty. They have a great toppings bar with curry ketchup, pickled onions, and picked cucumbers. My girlfriend and I were just passing through to go to harpers ferry and we needed some breakfast food. We are arrived at cowbell purely because of a picture on Instagram I saw. After we arrived I quickly learned what a fantastic gem this place was. This kitchen is used as a staging area for up to 9 farmers markets in the local area depending on the season. Everything is locally sourced and made fresh. There are a lot of options for the meat, egg and dairy lovers but there are also plenty of veggie/vegan options from what I saw. (The owners are veggie/vegan) I had the egg, bacon and cheese on sourdough, it was the best breakfast sandwich I have had in a long time. And as an appetizer I split a maple donut, it was amazing and very fresh. The staff was incredibly accommodating as well and told us about multiple options that weren't on the menu.
