Byron is a legend - a master of his trade. He is kind, straightforward, honorable. I've been taking him my shoes for about 10 years, and now that I'm based across the country, I pack my shoes in a suitcase when I come to New York so that he can take care of them. Maybe I have a new pair that needs a Vibram sole; maybe the sole has separated from another pair. I trust Byron with my shoes. On this trip, my favorite leather backpack got a little bit damaged, and he worked with me to find a day where he would be able to repair it in a single day. Of course he did an amazing job on that too.

You could get the boot .

After walking around town all day with my buddy. He'd been wearing these new dress shoes that he got, but they barely fit he said & they keep slipping . We went in to a few shoe stores & none of these places sold shoe fillers ! Finally I looked on yelp, located a place 3 blocks down & bingo . . . Its a small simple shop . But they had everything we needed & boy was this place busy when we got there . . . Seemed like everyone was getting off work & were swinging by to pick up their shoes . After the kind gentleman who was running the shop finished up with his customers who were ahead of us . He then took his time to solve my friends problem & alleviating his pain .

    Replaced soles.

My treasured waterproof La Canadienne ankle boots (thrifted) met their demise last week when the soles split open during some wet weather, and I was determined to get them fixed quickly. Since Cowboy Boot Hospital is conveniently located for me, I dropped both boots off on Thursday. Four days later, I have just picked them up, and they are beautifully repaired. Both soles (not including the heels) replaced for just $45, and just in time for more cold, rainy weather. As long as I live in NYC, I will be returning! This place has earned my trust and appreciation.

Hands down, the best shoe repair guy in the city. Been going to him since 2001. Tried others, but the quality is never as good!

Has anyone gotten actual cowboy boots repaired here? I have a pair of Justin's that need resoling and I want to know if the store's name lives up to its claim

I would always trust this guy with my Justins—and I do have a pair of Justins, in fact—he absolutely knows his boots.

This bag means the world to me because it was my very first designer bag, gifted to me over 10 years ago They worked absolute magic! The cleaning and restoration were done with such incredible care and attention to detail. When I got it back, it literally looked brand new You would never know it had gone through anything! Shoutouts to Leather Spa bringing it back to life! On top of that, the turnaround time was so fast which meant so much to me. I'm beyond grateful to have my sentimental piece restored so beautifully. It looks just the same now as it did when I first got it. I highly recommend them to anyone needing expert care for their luxury items! 10/10 experience!

Absolutely despicable. Stay away from Leather Spa at all costs! Destroyed a brand new, unworn pair…read moreof Louboutin boots for which I just paid over $2k at Saks. I first brought the boots to the Grand Central location and was turned away because apparently only 55th Street (the least accessible NYC location for me) does calf alterations. My boots were 1-1.5" too wide in the calves as I have very narrow legs, and while I was clear that I didn't want them to be tight, I did want them to look more fitted and neater around my legs. I went to 55th Street and intentionally had the boots fitted over jeans, repeatedly telling the store employee that he was cutting off my circulation and needed to loosen the boots. Rather than listen to me and do what I asked, he told me that they could stretch them if they turned out too small. I very adamantly said no, I will not compromise the integrity of the leather by stretching them nor will I agree to have the boots made too small so that additional work will be required. I finally asked him to provide the final measurement and was told it was 13". The boots were originally 14.5" for reference. The boots were ready in just over a week, which already had me concerned since I hadn't requested a rush job. Upon receiving them, I could immediately see that they were two different sizes. The left boot is 12.5" and the right boot is just barely 12.25". They are nearly impossible to zip, the seams were done VERY poorly and not straight, and most importantly, they do not fit without severe pain. I cannot walk in them. I literally can't even move my right ankle. And that's on my bare legs without jeans. I immediately contacted Leather Spa and received a response from Vincent who said it's very common for boots with this type of repair to require additional treatment and that I should bring them back for stretching. Did I not already have this conversation BEFORE I paid $300+ to ruin $2k+ boots??? Vincent insists they are not ruined even after I sent photos showing that they very much are. Further, they didn't even send them back to me nicely - they threw shreds of cut leather pieces inside one of the boots and just sent them off that way as further evidence of the total rush job. I used to frequent Leather Spa 55th and my patronage fell off years ago after they did something very similar to a pair of $300 boots. I was very clear during my visit this time that that could not happen again with my brand new Louboutin boots that were significantly more expensive. Had the employee just told me on the spot that they were going to cut my boots too small and require stretching thereafter, I would've taken the boots, walked out and gotten them repaired elsewhere. Literally the only reason I returned to Leather Spa is because Christian Louboutin recommends them. Never again.
