Lets start with the people they were nice and helpful. Now I was superseded at the watermelon tea that had it was very good. The Spanish rice was to my surprise it was very good. I also had the twice cook potato was also surprising good. Those where one of the best I have had since I got here. Now let's hit on the chicken it was good however, I did get there when I they where getting ready to close. I wander if the chicken would be better if I got there when it was hot from the roster. I will go back there and eat agin now I have not found a really good chicken place. Now I do have to say it's better then most of the chicken I have had so far. Today, I decided to order the Monterey Salad and it was not worth 13 dollars. First of all, the service here is not up to par and the wait can be extensive. It's almost as if you are waiting for the chicken to be cooked or something. I ordered the salad and I realized the Brusse sprouts appear dry and outdated. I thought may be it may have just been that piece or maybe they are grilled. I finally faced the facts of their being old and were placed in my salad outdated when they needed to be placed in the trash can. Never been a fan of this establishment and tomorrow and the next day. After driving by Cowboy Chicken for quite some time, we were finally able to stop by while running some errands on Saturday. My expectations were raised when walking in, just on your left, is the rotisserie turning, stocked with chickens, slowly cooking over wood coals. Definitely something that makes your stomach grumble. One cool thing we noticed while ordering, is that they offer their lunch special - 2 pieces of dark meat, 2 sides, for just under $6.00, every day of the week! Really hard to beat that. I went with the mac n' cheese and corn fritters, while The Girlfriend chose a sweet potato and the beans. The mac n' cheese, topped with bread crumbs, was the best of the sides we tried. Our next visit we will try their famous twice-baked potatoes. The chicken was delicious, very fine smoky flavor and was piping hot, fresh off the rotisserie. Other reviews noted that their chicken was dry, but was not the case with ours. The concept is interesting, since it is wood fired rotisserie, it is almost quasi-BBQ. Also, their prices are very seasonable, a whole chicken will cost you around $8, just a bit more than a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store. Me and my husband visited this location today at 5pm (5/1/2024) to pick up a door dash order. Your employee working the counter Jeremiah was extremely rude to my husband. He argued with my husband loudly in front of customers because he was in a bad mood about a phone call he was on when we entered in which he slammed the phone down for when we needed our order. He was extremely argumentative instead of just giving us our order we were picking up to leave. We have been here many times and have never had this experience.. but i will for sure be reporting this issue to door dash as well. Went this past Thursday for lunch and ordered the drumstick meal. When I received my meal I bit into the first drumstick and noticed it was cold, then I bit into the second one and it was cold to the bone "frozen". Went to the counter and let them know and the manager frustrated responded "that is the way they are supposed to be". She explained they rotisserie, freeze them, and then fry them for a bit. Have been here three times. Chicken tastes like a chicken spit roasted over a campfire. It's just a matter of if you like that or not. I do, but I prefer the roast chicken at Eatsies. The sides are largely meh. I liked the spinach, the mac and cheese was just okay. I LOVED the twice baked potatoes the first time I got them, they were loaded with flavor and lots of pepper and were amazing. The second time I got them they were not anywhere near as good. They were underseasoned and oddly tart. So the consistency isn't there. Rolls are good. Would I come back? Probably if someone else wanted to. I love the concept of quality rotisserie chicken as an alternative to burgers, fried food, etc. I love their selection of sides and their portion sizes are great. However, I've consistently had issues with the service here. They take a very long time to fill orders regardless of there being plenty of staff and the sides already being made. It would be way better in a cafeteria style setup like Soulman's. I ordered online recently and my order wasn't estimated to be ready for 25 minutes. This place is quite good and always smells great when you walk in. We have mostly ordered from them on GrubHub with mixed results, and we have only eaten in the restaurant 3-4 times. My wife loves the chicken enchiladas, and the kids meal was really generous (2 legs, 1 side, roll, and drink for $3.99). The prices are what you would expect overall. I have gotten the Southwest Salad the last two times, and I think it is a really spectacular salad overall. The creamed spinach and fried okra are the two sides we usually get, and those are good as well. When I picked up the order, I asked the guy behind the counter if those items were in there, even read the messages to him twice. Sooo excited when I saw this place come to fruition down the street! I like their food. I got there right as they opened and didn't have an issue with dry chicken. It was juicy, fall of the bone tender and had a great flame-broiled flavor. We got a family portion between three of us (hubz, MIL, and I). The mac and cheese and okra didn't have any survivors. I have loved Cowboy Chicken for years, used to go to one in Dallas all the time. I've been telling my boyfriend how awesome it is and we met there today for lunch. We were not disappointed with the food, but we were surprised at how dirty it was. Filthy. Disgusting. I saw a chicken bone and other trash sit in the middle of the floor, 2 employees walked over or around it, but didn't pick it up. We also had a hard time finding a clean table. During our lunch, the bone was not picked up and no tables were ever cleaned. They say that a restaurant's kitchen is as clean as their bathrooms, but we won't even talk about that. One of my favorite places to go when trying to eat like a healthy human being. I get the Grilled Chicken Salad without cheese, and add the low fat italian dressing. The chicken is grilled to perfection every time I come, and the salad is incredibly filling. My only complaint is that the dish they put it in is so shallow I end up covering the table with food. I've tried all of the healthy side options and they are all great as well; the fire roasted veggies being my favorite. I find it neat that you can actually see the chicken roasting on the spit, which they will remove in front of you to prepare for your meal.
