2 tenders (Spice level AMF) with Side Kale Salad
    Ishara F.

The chicken was so moist on the inside and crispy on the outside. They make you sign a waiver for the AMF level spice which is the hottest they have. If you can eat those buldak 2 times spicy noodles you will be perfectly fine as these are not as spicy as that in my opinion. Absolutely delicious flavor being as spicy as they are because most places that try to serve a "really spicy level" end up tasting like chemicals or just have a weird aftertaste. The side salad was great and I really enjoyed their lemonade.

My wife and I were looking for something new we hadn't dined at and she was in the mood for chicken tenders. We were in Fort Worth's cultural district, and I fired up the Yelp app on my phone. When searching for chicken, The Cookshack popped up. It had been on my radar for quite a while, so we headed there for lunch. After looking over the menu board, we made our choices. My wife opted for 2 tender platter with fries. She decided on the "mild" seasoning. I decided on the Ribs and Chicken Combo. 1/4 rack of ribs and two tenders. I decided to be bold and chose the "Texas Hot" seasoning. After a short wait, our food was ready. WOW, some of the best tenders and ribs I've ever tasted. The tenders are cooked to order and served piping hot. The ribs were phenomenal, fall of the bone. My wife loved her tenders, she had a very happy tummy. The fries were fried to perfection and seasoned perfectly. Let's get on to the seasoning. My wife loved the 'mild' seasoning level of spice. Let's talk about the seasoning level I chose, "Texas Hot." OMG, I should have ordered 'medium" because the "Texas Hot" was definitely TEXAS HOT! I went through a lot of iced tea. The seasoning was on the tenders as well the ribs. I was able to bare the level of heat. Overall, it was very good. We'll have to come back very soon for another stab at the menu. Thank you Cookshack for a wonderful Sunday lunch.

Our Favorite chicken sandwich place. We have driven an hour on many occasions just for a sandwich. Massive breaded breast sandwiches. Choose your heat, 5 levels (the Texas Heat made me cry..lol). Choose your sauce, 6 choices (my favorite is sweet heat). The breading is super crispy. Served on a bun with cole slaw. Other choices are tenders both breaded and grilled, ribs or chicken and waffles. Food is delivered to your table. Everytime we've been there the chef has come out to make sure everything is ok (I love that about this place). Its a smaller shop in Fort Worth so if its near meal time you may need to wait for a table. Several Tv's for viewing. Also seating at a small bar.

The food was amazing the chicken is fried to perfection. It was seasoned so well I got mild (3) chicken tenders . I also ordered the chicken and waffles . The waffles were Crispy on the outside and Fluffy in the inside served with a cinnamon butter . AMAZING

I've never seen or heard of this place before but, my friends from Church were going here so, I got to join them. The Cook Shack really impressed me with their Chicken Strips. Let's go with this review. There was a lot to see as I normally do. Lol It was Sunday, like around 12:30. The Cook Shack offered a small narrow parking lot, on both sides of the building. All spaces were taken except two. It was crowded enough to watch some one leave so, you can get their parking spot. There was a parking spot but, it looked to narrow so, I passed on it. I found another spot under the shade but had a difficult time backing out. Walked in and a lot of the tables were taken. There was a large table in the center that was perfect for the overflow crowd. The crowd consisted of after Church Goeers. I wasn't sure where to order or where the line was. Turns out you can order food at the bar too. Service seemed to be quick. I must have brought my patience and I was in good company because, there were lots of orders going by before my order was brought to me. It seemed to be pricey but, The Cook Shack offers a lunch special consisting of a drink, two Chicken Strips, a side, and a piece of bread for $9 99. The Chicken Strips were fresh, crispy, spicy with white meat. Macaroni was Ok, a small portion. Honey Mustard Sauce was tarty, barely enough to finish the strips. Well, the food was good. Enjoyed it. Would recommend. Gather your friends from Church and head here.

Food was pretty good. We haven't been back since we ate there. I mean it's just pretty good not phenomenal or anything. Service is TOP NOTCH though!! They have the nicest people working there. So helpful, so cheerful, very welcoming! Definitely a service to remember. Service made food taste better for sure. We will be back soon.

I've gone here 4 weeks in a row and it's been amazing every time. I had the 3 piece tender with medium heat and my partner had a burger. The frozen marg was very good. I'm assuming the burgers are cooked medium well so just a quick heads up if that's not your thing.

3 Tenders (3) and salad - okay. Should have gone with the chicken sandwich instead
    Linn P.

This has been on my list to try for a very long time. We finally stopped by here with some friends. Service is great. Everyone is very nice. Our food was a hit and miss. The tenders were just okay. The chx sandwich was better. Very heavy thick batter on all. It is very crunchy but a small piece of meat inside and some bites, only batter. I got the medium heat which was good and a side and sweet spicy (not good). Our friend got the shack salad, the champagne vinaigrette dressing is tasty and it comes with avocado which was great... but the chicken was terrible. We all took a bite and it is sooo dry. Maybe they used old chicken? We pretty much ate around the chicken and threw it away. We all agreed we prob would not visit here again. Many good fried chx sandwiches around.

Ordered the mild chicken tenders with fries and the shack sauce. The chicken was delicious! The breading was impeccable and the strips were HUGE. The fries were average, the shack sauce was reminiscent of other chicken sauces (canes, zaxbys, etc). Overall thought it was great! Will be back!

    Chicken Kale Salad

We had a pretty good experience here! I tried the Kale Salad with spicy chicken, and it was absolutely delicious--fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. My husband had the chicken sandwich, which he enjoyed, but we were both surprised that his meal came with only 7 fries. It felt a little skimpy for the price. The kids were happy with their chicken nuggets and mac and cheese. Overall, the food was solid, but the portion size for fries could definitely use some improvement! Cool

The chicken at this place is on point. The food is cooked to order. The service is fast and friendly and the atmosphere is cozy. There is also barbecue ribs on the menu. It appears to be a popular option. I have not tried it yet. I recommend if you like tenders and you want to spice it up a bit. Check out the Cookshack.

We started with the biscuits and cinnamon roll. I would recommend both. The biscuits came with a jam, honey and whipped butter. The cinnamon roll, which may look a bit underwhelming had a such a great crispy texture on the outside while still being fluffy on the inside. The icing wasn't too sweet and complimented the roll nicely. For the table, we had the pollo frito biscuit w/duck fat potatoes, Brisket Benedict w/okra and the Fixe Breakfast entree w/maple sausage and potatoes. The pollo Frito was delicious, the chicken was seasoned well and maintained crunch even within the biscuit. Duck fat potatoes were also good but were even better after adding some salt. The brisket benny was okay, the texture of the brisket was very odd and didn't really hold up to the egg. Although the okra had a great flavor the batter was a bit too thick which made it chewy. The Fixe breakfast was great and the maple sausage was perfect. Our waitress was Adriana, she was great and very helpful. Overall we would definitely come back and look forward to trying dinner one night.
