My gf and I are so happy I have found this place in downtown orlando. We drove past it and decided to come back and try it out. The service is great!! Our server was so kind. Great Quick Lunch Spot - Fresh Sushi & Friendly Vibe Stopped into Uma Sushi while in town for business and it turned out to be one of the best quick lunches I've had in a while! This ramen spot replaced Takumi Ramen that used to be in the same building. That place was good for a decent ramen when the other top ramen joints were too busy, so was hoping for this to be another good ramen option in town. Came early on a Friday evening so seating wasn't too much of a problem but it did get busier shortly thereafter. I ordered the shrimp tempura ramen and my husband ordered the black garlic tonkotsu ramen. Both bowls were decent but lacking in the rich flavorful broths of the other top competitors in town. Takoyaki bites were good but we didn't really explore more of the menu as we were focused on trying the ramen. Vibes were casual modern, and staff was friendly. Next time we'd probably skip the ramen and try the sushi offerings. read more

Stopped by Uma after church to grab some sushi, and honestly, it was a pretty basic experience. The restaurant itself isn't the most aesthetically appealing, but the staff were very friendly and offered solid recommendations on their popular dishes. One thing they did get right was the music. The R&B and Hip‑Hop rotation was fire and definitely helped the vibe. The sushi was good, but it could've been better. Nothing bad, just not memorable. I tried their Lychee Green Tea, though, and that was actually very refreshing and perfect for a hot Sunday afternoon. Overall, it was a decent visit, and I'd give them a second try. We were told by the waitress that they only opened about 2 months ago, the previous establishment was still showing as open when I was looking online. Small casual spot in a residential area. It was relatively quiet when we arrived (~7PM) but by the time we left, it was full. The ramen was tasty. Their broth super flavourful and hearty, noodles had a nice bounce, though the portion is quite small compared to some other places with similar pricing. The menu shows that the ramen comes with a marinated soft-boiled egg- you only get half an egg. Other items we ordered were the tuna lover roll, sushi didn't taste very fresh despite it being advertised as "very fresh" - the fish felt was grainy, and rice was a bit hard. The seaweed salad was ... interesting. A definite first for all of us, seaweed with lettuce. Little seaweed and a lot of lettuce. If it came with a description, I don't think I would have ordered it. UMA was a great, random find! They had fairly priced sushi and the quality was good, too. Had the golden California roll, unagi hand roll, salmon hand roll, and a salmon roll. My partner had a golden California roll, hamachi roll, and the calamari. Everything was delicious! I liked that the salmon hand roll had big roe on it :) Service was prompt and the ambiance was great! Only critique is I wish the hot tea came in a ceramic cup, not a to go cup, and served with a pot and leaves instead of a tea bag. Kinda killed the vibe for me a bit. read more

The Ramen is pretty good but I can't give it any more than two stars because if youre charging $20+ for a bowl of ramen, the bowl should come with at least two pieces of meat regardless if it's takeout or dining in. What I liked best about Uma was the service. My friends and I went there for dinner on Valentines Day and our server was so nice and attentive. She took great pictures of us. Maybe I came on a bad night, but the ramen tasted really, really plain, the boba was SUPER watered down, and the sushi was alright taste-wise. However, the rolls would fall apart. Very mid overall. I've honestly never left a bad review before, but I ended up paying $100.84 (including a 20% tip, obviously) and it was just not worth it. Eating at UMA today was a spur of the moment decision, with my girlfriends' mom recommending it as we were in the area. The inside is really quaint, it was pretty quiet around 2:00 PM. We ordered sushi, calamari, and gyoza. All of it was fantastic. The calamari came with a spicy mustard (which I don't care for) and the staff worked with us to provide a sweet chili sauce despite a language barrier. I was on jury duty at the courthouse and this restaurant caught my eye which is nearby on the corner of Orange Avenue and Amelia Street. I got the $17 lunch combo which came with a choice of iced tea, appetizer and bowl of ramen. I got the iced Thai tea with milk and it was delicious. For my appetizer I chose the fried gyoza and it was nice and crispy and nicely sauced. The ramen was the standout dish and honestly one of the best bowls of ramen I've ever eaten. I chose the spicy beef ramen (my server said it was $3 extra but I think it was $3.99 as my total bill was $20.99) and it was outstanding. The broth had a nice kick but not too spicy for my taste. The beef was tender and delicious. The entire dish was expertly prepared from the noodles to the soft boiled egg. I would put this bowl of ramen in competition with Domu.
