After a 7 mile Bryce Canyon hike, this place hit the spot! You know when there's a smoker outside, the meat is going to be good and it sure stole the show! The mesquite ribs and the sirloin steak were the highlight of the meal but the complimentary biscuits, ice cold beer and potatoes did not disappoint! Kristin, our server, was SO sweet. Even though it was her third day, she made the whole experience memorable. Friendly, attentive, and personable, I have no doubt she will succeed in this cute and delicious smokehouse in Panguitch! Maybe we hit this place on a bad day but our lunch was not good. The 3 stars is for the great staff that greeted us and took our orders. Top shelf folks!!! The cook on the other hand managed to over cook our cheeseburgers until they were dry and had no taste at all. The burgers did not have any mayo, no secret sauce or mustard. Thankfully it came with lettuce tomato and pickles on the side. We finished our lunch with their highly touted peach cobbler. Mistake number 2. It was the strangest tasting peach cobbler my wife and I had ever eaten. Even with the ice cream it didn't hide that taste. Drove by this & decided to stop. It is definitely a hot spot, but you dont need a reservation. Lots to chose from for lunch & dinner. I sat at the counter being by myself, but I dont recommend it. Though there were probably ten servers quickly moving around I just sat there waiting for someone to notice me while a redheaded women stood & talked to the guy next to me for well over five minutes. Eventually, a woman stopped & got me an iced tea & took my order. My server eventually became Jace, who once he started was great. This place is obviously the popular place for both locals and travelers. There was a line to get in when I arrived. Since, I was by myself I was offered to sit at the counter. It was perfect! They were super busy but all the employees looked like they enjoyed working there. Service was quick too! The burrito - delicious! I took half of it with me! We have come to Panguitch several times and have eaten at the Cowboy's Smokehouse on two of those occasions. Both times we were very disappointed in our food. The first time was on the 4th of July a few years ago. We had ordered ribs which were tough and undercooked. We thought perhaps it was because of the holiday. We gave this restaurant another try this past Saturday night and got there just as they opened for dinner. My husband ordered the combination barbecue platter and selected ribs, tri tip, and sausage as his meat choices. The tri tip was refrigerator cold and tough. No flavor. The ribs were fall off the bone and delicious. The sausage was very, very tough. My husband tried to cut me a piece of his sausage and sawed and sawed before he was finally able to cut through it. Our daughter had a pulled pork sandwich which was served on a dry bun with no sauce or slaw. The pork was dry and had little flavor. Our waitress tended to hang out with two other younger waitresses on their cell phones behind the counter. We had to get an older waitress to let our waitress know we would like dessert. Our plates had already been cleared, and she had not checked on us to see if we wanted dessert or our bill. Our bill was over $100 without tip. We will not go back. read more

In the area to hike Bryce National Park and not many options near Bryce to eat at. Found this place on Yelp 10 or so miles away so thought we'd give it a try. I liked how festive it is as soon as you walk in. Christmas decorations along with a western theme and Christmas music playing in the background. I came for a ribeye and found out that they serve breakfast between open and 11am, lunch from 11am to 4pm, and dinner 4pm to close. What I wanted was on the dinner menu but we arrived at 2pm after an 8 mile hike. The server was very nice and pleasant, we asked her if we could order dinner and she checked with the chef and then came back and said it would be his pleasure. That made us really happy. The place seems like a family run restaurant and they are very attentive and very friendly. For our meal of course I ordered the ribeye, my wife got the burrito, and for an appetizer we got the bacon wrapped jalepeno. The appetizer was soooo good! It came with a side of I think raspberry jelly to contrast the cream cheese, bacon, and jalapeño and paired really well. For my ribeye the fat was so tender and tasty. Not much seasoning on the steak which I like because you can taste the actual steak but it was cooked to perfection and had butter on it. As a bonus they had Redmans real salt! Not the cheap store salt. That's always a pet peave I have with nice steak places when they don't have good salt to go with the delicious steak. My wife was very happy with her burrito. The server kept our drinks filled. The appetizer was so good we actually ordered more to go! I definitely recommend this place specially if you want steak! GET THE COBBLER. The blackberry cobbler was absolutely delicious. We all enjoyed the sweet potato fries too, they had cinnamon sugar on them. Their menu says 11, but I guess menus are just polite suggestions here. Honestly, I'm impressed. It takes a special kind of talent to invent a breakfast that exists on paper but vanishes in reality. Street parking is relatively easy to find. We visited on a busy Saturday night around 7:30 PM. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table, which was not very surprising. The dining room is decent-sized, but the capacity is not huge. It can fill up on busy nights. The interior is pleasant enough, though not elegant. It's definitely oriented toward casual dining. The menu offers a few favorites at OK prices by today's standards. If you're up for things like chicken, fish or steak, this is a good bet. Our server attended to us quickly after we were seated and did a good job throughout our stay. My wife tried the Sirloin Steak with a Baked Yam and Asparagus as her sides. I had Smoked Turkey with Sweet Potato Fries and Coleslaw. Everything was tasty. The availability of the baked yam was a particularly nice touch. The final cost was about $27 per person with food, drinks, tax and tip. All things considered, while this is a solid place for a good dinner, the price tag ends up being a little higher than I'd expect for what it is. It borders on a 4.5-star place, but I cannot justify in comparison giving it five stars. I'm settling on a strong 4-star rating and that feels about right. If you're in town and enjoy the type of fare they offer, it's a good choice. read more

We stayed in town a few blocks over and decided to try this restaurant. We were not disappointed! We actually went for dinner one night and breakfast the next day because it was THAT good. Make sure you get there early for dinner or you may miss some of their delicious smoked meats and steaks. Everything that we had for breakfast and dinner was delicious. We had a variety of food because we had a party of 9! They were able to accommodate us without a problem. All of the employees that we encountered were very kind. Our server, Heidi, was new but the lack of attention was amazing. The power was out when we got there, we knew this already from going to another place in town, so I ordered a chef salad with turkey and he ordered the bone in chicken with pinto beans and a baked potato. The beans were not available so the server offered the option of another side OR the salad bar at no additional charge. Get the check and the $4.95 up-charge for the salad bar is on there. We mention what we were told earlier and that we're also paying cash. She comes back and states that there's an up-charge. Having no time for the nonsense, $60 cash and I'm through!!! No Good experience, until the end.The bake potato was only about 80% done if that so the up charge should not been added and a 4% reduce in the bill if we aid by cash , so paid in cash but like to add 1/3 chicken to many ppl is 1 leg 1 wing 1/2 breast 1 thigh no I guess 1/3 breast n one wing is there maths, Please eat elsewhere where you will not be rip off on the food and the price. The inside is nice of course with a Western theme. The menu had decent options and of course since we were hungry everything sounded somewhat good. Our waitress was nice and attentive so good service. There was just one other table when we arrived but more people showed up afterwards but nothing crazy. The food was good and hit the spot, not saying it was anything amazing but can't complain and it filled us up and a good portion for what we spent. After traveling for eight hours, all we wanted to do was order two chicken fried steaks to go to take back to our hotel we were denied that service. We also had dogs traveling so I don't think they were going to let our dogs in the restaurant, but once again, the rude hostess at the table didn't even bother to ask any questions. I can honestly say I'm glad I didn't give people like that my money. If you're traveling through, stay away because they're not very accommodating. I hate rude behavior in a person. Was looking for a good place for breakfast and found this place. Our server Brevon (I hoped I spelled that right) was excellent he was very cheerful and bright and on top of things. I got the Denver Omelet, hash browns and several choices of toast. I chose rye bread. I also got a whole order of biscuits and gravy and split it with my SIL. I enjoyed my omelet is was cooked through, wasn't runny nor was it overcooked. It was literally and fluffy which was a good thing because the whole order of biscuits and gravy was huge. It came with four biscuits and plenty of sausage gravy. My companions had French toast which they said the French toast was good and there was plenty of it. They were very complimentary of our server. The coffee I had was the best I've had this week on vacation. It was not bitter and very smooth. When you enter the restaurant there is a huge family portrait of the family all decked out in western wear. You feel like you're having breakfast with the family as friendly as every one was. This is still one of our favorite restaurants. We came on a busy Tuesday night. Note: this is our first time since they moved to the larger venue across the street. I love the decor and the energy. I appreciate bench seating for the wait. Ours was only 10 minutes. We were seated in the booth that gave visibility to the events room. We got our orders in before a bus of tourists filled the event room. Bonus - a lovely 16-year old singer provided live entertainment and she was good. Our server Brevin was delightful but very much overworked. Here's the one bad experience. My husband asked for no seasoning in his steak. They brought it heavily seasoned and Brevin offered to have it redone. It took over 30 minutes. I was completely done with my meal. The Hubbs had already taken advantage of the salad bar so we packed his meal to go. Brevin did give us a discount on the meal due to the delay. Overall, dinner took a long time, but I guess that's the price for eating out in a tourist town. We still love the food and the local beer on tap was cold! read more

Stayed in Panguitch for a few days as our home base to visit Bryce Canyon. It's a small Main Street so not many options for dining. We dined here for breakfast and dinner and had a wonderful experience both times. The restaurant was clean and service was great for breakfast. It was a little slow for dinner but they were absolutely slammed. Breakfast was great they have all the staples and good sized portions.
