My wife and I stopped in while staying in the area to explore Bryce Canyon. The owners were a joy to talk with and the food was great. Not only did they welcome my wife's service dog with open arms, they went out of their way to bring him water and we ordered him food off the menu as well. The place is very clean, casual, warm and inviting, but a lot of that could have been the owners! The prices are probably the most reasonable in the area as well. As you walk in, there is a little store area that sells some basic items you might need (It is not a grocery store), then there is the counter where you order your meal before sitting down. They don't have a salad bar or table service now. You order food at the front convenience store counter and get your own drinks, then they bring your food to your table. Their $4 side salad only has lettuce, one tomato wedge, a few red onion slices and a tiny cup of dressing; no cheese or croutons. Their menu is more limited with steaks, shrimp, ribs (with corn muffins and corn on the cob), marinara or Alfredo pastas (with garlic bread), and several salads. Hatch Station's Dining Car Restaurant is a great family business located half an hour west of Bryce Canyon. It seemed to me that the wife was the waitress and her husband was the chef. The service here was excellent! All the dinner entrees come with with a choice of potato (baked, mashed, fries) and either a soup or salad. They also serve a delicious home made bread for the table. This bread was so soft and chewy that we were compelled to ask for a second loaf! I ordered a New York Steak and my brother went for the T-Bone. Both of us felt that the quality of the beef used wasn't all that great. Both cuts were slightly too tough and weren't as juicy as we had hoped. My mom picked the BBQ 1/2 Chicken which was pretty good; dad opted for the trout which turned out to be my favorite dish of the lot.
