I took my Mercedes to another shop, where they diagnosed the water pump as the actual cause of the overheating and confirmed the oil pump solenoid was not causing the problem. After replacing the water pump, my overheating issue was resolved. I understand that diagnosing vehicles isn't always perfect, but I specifically paid $225 to determine the cause of an overheating issue, and unfortunately, the actual cause was missed.
