My husband's birthday, Saturday night made a reservation with a note we were celebrating. Disappointingly no one acknowledged him although we saw a big 5-0 being celebrated as well as a family with a younger son who was brought a sparkling dessert display and both those parties there was some recognition by the staff and singing. Regarding the food everything was delicious from the filet and salmon special to the banana cream pie. Bought a bottle of wine and the presentation was interesting; after the hubby took the initial approving sip we were each only poured a few more sips worth. Wait staff kept switching up too; there seemed to always be a different person at the table. Acoustics were a bit loud especially given the crowd was predominately adults. Nice water views. Would probably return; was a bit underwhelmed. read more

Needs reservations but if you don't have one, you can buy takeout from the outdoor bar and hangout in their front yard which has some nice shaded seating facing the water view.. Probably my personal favorite restaurant in the Hampton Bays. Always good always consistent. I would recommend sitting outside upstairs for the best view. The ribeye is the star of the show as that butter/sauce they accompany it with is to die for. Service is very attentive. Rooted Hospitality always does it right. read more

EXCELLENT place and worth the trek from East Hampton to get to the edges of the Hamptons to Hampton Bay. Food: -wasabi tuna = fire -drinks, so good and cheaper than hamptons proper (12 dollars vs like 18 bucks) -great service -large portions lots of little nooks and crannies on the patios, decks, and the picnic tables. great for parties that are larger (family reunion) or even for a date night. will be back! The service tonight was fantastic at Rumba and Cowfish! At Rumba Darryl was so accommodating with assisting me and my guests with anything we needed. After taking the RumBoat we had experienced excellent customer service at cowfish as well. Kevin, Mitch, AJ, and Tye helped our entire group with our cars, they were friendly, asked us if we needed anything when we waiting for our cars. I can't stop thinking about my experience at Cowfish. First, this place looked absolutely packed on our way in, so I was convinced my boyfriend and I would not get a table. The hostess seated us right away inside. The tables were socially distanced with all workers wearing masks. We had a spot right in the middle of the room overlooking the water during sunset The food was delectable. I can assume that people visit this restaurant solely because of the jalapeño cornbread because wow. Wow wow wow. So damn good!!! To top it all off I had the best salmon I've ever had. Brown sugar honey glazed perfectly cooked. Melted in my mouth. Efficiency during COVID, check. I felt a tad rushed, but not going to hold it against them. This is a tough time so I give them so many props for being so on top of operations. There were about 4-5 different staff members who made our table a touch point. All eyes were on the tables to make sure guest were taken care of. The staff's hospitality was top notch. Came here for a delicious lunch after a day out in the north fork and we were not disappointed. Beautiful location right on the water. I had the lobster roll and it was perfect; I loved the big chunks of lobster meat- no lobster mayo mush like other places. My husband had a burger that he really enjoyed. It was super relaxing to just sit on the upper level and enjoy our meal while looking at the boats. Reasonable pricing for food quality and location. read more

If you are from the Hampton Bay area you know that it can be difficult to find a local brunch spot especially in the winter months. I decided to try Cowfish which is located right behind another fish market called out of the blue. The location could be slightly tricky to find but just follow the signs once you turn into out of the blue fish market. There was plenty of free parking on sight and the restaurant over looked the Hampton bay canal. The staff was kind and friendly and was able to seat us right away even though we didn't have a reservation. We started off by ordering their peach belini and the Caribbean punch beeline, both of these drink choice were a great start off to our brunch. We then ordered the special of the day which was muscles in a thick red marinara sauce with lots of chopped garlic and 2 pieces of toasted ciabatta bread. For our main courses I ordered the Nashville hot chicken, this came with a pretty large side of Cole slaw. The chicken was served on top of a large piece of ciabatta bread which has the best crunch to it. The chicken was also well seasoned and being a fan of fried chicken it passed my expectations. It was also drizzled with some sweet and hit chilly oil which gave it a slight kick but nothing that was too over powering. My Fiancé ordered the Brunch burger and it didn't disappoint. It your really hungry and are a fan of burgers I would suggest this choice. The burger was topped with an over easy egg, applewood bacon and gouda cheese. I would recommend Cowfish for brunch in the Hamptons. read more

Tasty food and a great location. Went here after they reopened for indoor dining post-COVID. They're sitting about half of the tables and allowing fresh air to circulate through so I felt safe. I've been to this restaurant many times over the past 2 years. The food here is always terrific, the view is great and the young waitstaff is always very pleasant, efficient and are good at their jobs. My only problem is that the Guinness comes in cans and you never get an" honest pour" when it comes to the wine. It happens on every visit and it ruins the dining experience. I had the clam chowder but should have gotten the cornbread skillet. The Caesar salad was good but they do use a sweet cornbread so the flavors are different. The shrimp in the salad was really good. Had a delicious wine pairing dinner last night. Food was absolutely wonderful. . . Red Kuri Squash Bisque, Pan-Seared Diver Scallops, Bond-in Short Rib, Seared Duck a L'Orange, and Chocolate Pot de Crème. All were paired with beautiful wines from Stags' Leap Winery. LOVE this place when it's off season. During high season it's impossible to get a table so I avoid it like the plague. But regardless, the restaurant is beautiful and the food as equally delicious. I've always received stellar service here from Wait staff, bartender, hostess and bussing staff. Seafood is super fresh and their added specials of the day are usually inventive and delicious as well. It looks like they also have a very happening bar happy hour scene both off and peak season.
