I ordered the chicken parm: two thinly (read: perfectly portioned) sliced chicken breasts, coated with bread crumbs and fried, smothered in the same garlicky tomato sauce folded into the most perfectly al-dente pasta noodles. The mozzarella cheese was thoroughly melted and fused into the top layer of the chicken breasts. For dessert, I ordered the lemon mascarpone cake: three layers of the fluffiest, most lemony cake I have ever had. The mascarpone cream was not sugary- again, flavorful and lemony. I always enjoy my meal when I visit and I particularly adore their tomato pie. I have a little trick to being able to score some additional pieces to the two place on your table with warm crusty bread and butter; I have no intentions of sharing my secret! I know the term 'hidden gem' is played out, but this is really one of those places where if you don't know, you will never know. If you decide to try it, it's worth the drive. Dave, one of the owners, was busy churning out breads of all kinds, but took the time to chat with us, ask how our family members were doing, and share baking processes. [They bake their beer bread with Yuengling lager, for example. Apparently it doesn't water down the bread. Somehow.] By the end of our short visit, I was leaving with a pizza bread, two drunken money pull-aparts (chocolate and cinnamon sugar), and six small rolls for sandwiches. It was actually hard to stop myself from ordering more, and the pizza bread didn't survive the trip home! The bakery itself has a few chairs but is mostly a takeout operation with semi-limited hours. When you stop in on a Friday, you can even order a full pizza. Obviously I need to do that soon. Keep this place in mind when you're looking for a carb binge, a sweet bite or fresh rolls for a special occasion. It's great!

Coffee is plentiful and the wait staff is efficient and attentive. They're located within a small complex which also boasts a gas station and small convenience store. The restaurant hours aren't posted and they aren't open on Sundays. (I deducted one star for these shortcomings). Give them a try for a great breakfast next time you're in the area.
