I was greeted immediately, or at least acknowledged by the 5 staff that were posted at the far end of the store. In no time, a gentleman from that group came out to assist me. I handed him over router box and the adapter. He got on the computer and punched in some numbers from the equipment I gave him. He confirmed that my daughter had her service with Cox and that she canceled recently. No more questions were asked and off I went. Easy, fast and efficient. My daughter had been with Cox for probably 5- 10 years. Within that time, her internet service was raised, I believe once if not twice ($15 more per month, approximately $115 monthly bill). And, within the past couple years, her internet has gotten slower, signals were weak and sending messages with images took longer than usual. She then ended up exchanging her router for a newer version last year. Still, same issue. It was time to say goodbye to Cox. I came in to get new service, and a new phone. I didn't qualify since my credit didn't go through. I happen to have my iPhone that had no service but previously had AT&T. I almost walked out when Andrea (who's been there for 4 years) asked me if my phone was unlocked. I mentioned that AT&T wouldn't unlock it. I tried at T-Mobile and Verizon but AT&T wouldn't help me since it was a business account. Long story short, Andrea unlocked my phone and got me service. Do not trust the employees. I walked in, returned some equipment and they said that they will email me my receipt. It's been 3 weeks and I get a bill to pay for the whole equipment I turned in. They will lie to you and charge you for something you're not using. So be careful when you go into the store! I was setup and after a year of trying to transfer my service I just found out I was scammed into a bundle I didn't know I was signing up. I had the cheapest deal before I moved and then it went up $5. And the lady at the store said oh here is something on us. Which was a lie because that's the reason my bill went up. A guy I work with said Cox says he owes over $500 for the device. Even though he returned it when he moved. So, when you return anything. Make sure to keep proof of the receipt or something stating it was returned. They will SCAM you into owing more money. Two people on the phone in billing and services said they would refund me because I never used the device and then I get transferred 3x to the last guy that said "SORRY THERE'S NOTHING I CAN HELP YOU." After I finished with the agent, I walked out, and my husband called me to let me know that his Internet went out during a zoom meeting. If you have literally any other ISP options available to you, pursue those before going with Cox Cable. They are by far the worst service provider I've ever had to use, and their customer service is just as atrocious. If you're in the unfortunate position where they're the only ISP available to you, they will to try increase their costs every year, with no improvement whatsoever to the actual service itself. We have regular internet drops and slowdowns throughout the day, which should not be happening when paying this much every month. When I sold a recent property a few months ago, I both called a Cox rep over the phone to cancel the service, as well as spoke with a representative at this same Cox store location when returning my modem/router. Both reps confirmed that my service was cancelled and that no further actions were needed from me. Upon checking my statement, I saw that they continued billing me for the following two months, and are now refusing to honor the refund that their collection team member already confirmed and agreed to. This company will try to swindle you for as much as they possibly can. Take heed of these reviews and do what you can to avoid these people. read more

Agreeing with many of the recent reviews of this service. Cox leans on their basic monopoly of the area, and you're forced to use their service if you want internet at all. There were many many frequent service disruptments, and I had to jump through hoops to get our bill adjusted because of it. The Cox store itself seemed fine, and I apologize that they're getting the brunt of this review. When I left, I had a bill of about $1.97 remaining. I turned off auto-pay and paid it on an old card. There was a card error, and I updated the payment immediately and it went through. This small blunder resulted in a $25 charge for a "returned payment" or something? This was all well before the due date. After again, jumping through hoops to talk to someone on the service side, they finally waived the ridiculous charge, stating that it was only because I was with them for 2 years. One of the worst stores to work with-even management couldn't resolve my issue! I had set up 3 accounts using my business name and was able to pickup equipment via walk in but when I try to pickup for my 4th unit, they said I couldn't do that. Then management tells me my accounts are not even registered under a business account. For the third time in 11 months into a two year service agreement, Cox has jacked up my prices even though when I call them up and they assure me my service charge will remain the same because of my agreement but when I call up after every raise they they find some discount I can get to get the price down. I don't mind the haggling but I was assured by three different customer loyalty managers that its all good for the next 12 months but it never is. How many never bother to question the bills when they rise. I will quit Cox next Feb but next time with ATT I'll get my agreement in writing by a salesman. If I buy a car and pay have a monthly payment, they don't raise the rate because their over head or other services increases. That should be sparkling service but it's not. Want to go 500 or better? You'll shell out 200 bucks install fee to improve your service. You kidding me? We don't typically visit this store as most services can be handled over the phone, or via Cox's online support. We were downgrading our combo package service (phone/internet/digital cable) to only internet service. The staff (Daniel & Trevor) were very helpful, friendly, and tried to work to get us a better pricing plan discount so we could continue our combo service package we had. While the lowest pricing plan offered was not enough for us to continued wrong our current service, Daniel was kind enough to try to do all he could to give us the best possible deal. We have been Cox Cable subscribers for over 25 years! Although we discontinued their phone & cable TV services, we continue to be loyal internet subscribers to this day. We just wanted to give the Chula Vista Cox Residential Store it's deserved kudos for their customer service they provided us. read more

I've been having the same issue with cox cable last 6 months. I've only had the service for 7months I've had techs out here over 4 time and probably reported this at least 7 times and still my tv service continues to lag. Picture will randomly stop while sound continues to work or vice versa. Sometimes both sill stop. These issue will happen in spirts last in from 20 sec to 20 min. If I switch Channels then return to the channel I was watching it seams to reset it but I shouldn't have to do that. They have replaced all my cables, my modem, my cable box multiple times with no luck or improvement. They won't let me out of my contract, can't fix the issue and every time they come out it cost ME more money due to missing work. read more

August 31, 2022: I went to this store after placing an online order. I arrived and was assisted by Joel. He was genuinely nice and professional. He pulled up the account and verified the information with me, went to grab the equipment from the back, and answered the questions I had confidently. Once I got home I followed the instructions inside the box which also directed me to the Cox app (for initial setup assistance and confirmation). Once I completed that (which took about 3 minutes) I was directed to the Cox Wi-Fi app where I was able to change my Wi-Fi name and password. I was pleasantly surprised that the entire process was fast and easy compared to my previous two experiences with another company over the past few weeks. Overall this was a very efficient and well-worth hour I spent placing the order, driving to and from the store picking up the equipment and setting everything up, and getting connected. read more

When I left the associate added a service to my account that I did not request for and forged my signature. Now I am having to go through a headache to have this service removed with no cancellation fee. I made the mistake of getting @CoxCable business phone. The service will not acknowledge an actual business phone unit therefore I had to purchase a house phone and plug it up. I switched to Cox last year in June and I confirmed that I'm not under contract and my bill won't go higher than $150. All premium channels were included plus land line and with high speed internet. Beginning of the year I've noticed my monthly bill was going up , so I called in April to inquire why my bill was going higher, and if possible to remove the premium channels since we seldom watch TV. Guess what I've been informed by the rep name Sunny? That I cannot make any changes until in June. Not in contract? So why can't I make changes to lower my monthly bill? My monthly bill went up from $156 to $184. Mind you the service stayed the same. So I was informed to call in June 1. That's what I did, guess what? My bill went up to $210.73!!! I called again and spoke to Ian and according to him, the promotion that I was in ended so I have to pay the regular fee!!! Now it's my fault that I didn't call before the promo ended however I was advised to call on a specific day. Now it's my fault again? So I asked to discontinue everything and only keep the internet. I got disconnected several times and spoke to several representatives who were so incompetent and did bother to return my call. I spoke to the following people, Aj, Melissa, Maria, Patrick and Ian. Imagine my frustrations! I was on the phone for 2 hours and NO one even bothered to call me back after being disconnected. I took my chance and called back and spoke to Ken, and I was informed that with my internet and just the basic channels he quoted me $115. 98. And advised me to have my land line number to be ported by majic jack so I could keep the number. So again I was advised to call back after the 15 of July. That's why I called today... yes you're right!!! The quote that was given to me was incorrect and yes I was misinformed again!!!!. According to Kerria "I'm sorry the quote that was given to you was incorrect". Really? So as a customer service rep, how do you turn the situation around? You know what she said? Just guess. Poor customer service. They need to get a proper training. The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. Damn!!! I had them disconnected everything except the internet connection. I have a love-hate relationship with Cox. And, at the moment, I love to hate them. As my budget gets tighter, around these economic times, I always try and find ways to just cut back. The first thing on my list is my cable bill. In recent months, I notice that my Cox cable bill jumped up about $30. All I can think was WTF? So, I printed up my last bill and poured over every single detail. Then, I make a call to customer service, to see what's going on and whether or not I'll need to remove some services. Keep in mind, my name is not the primary name on the bill (dad is), but I do have permission to make changes. At least I did, until I made this call. Kinda funny, since I just changed our home phone number a little over a month ago. I was told by a very helpful representative that a new rule took effect, which removed my name from the list. Weird because my mom and my brother were still on this list. Why remove me, but not them? Bullshit, if you ask me. I then asked why our bill went up. I was told that the premium channel special we had was over. But, if I called back with the primary owner of the account, a representative will be able to hook us up with a special $22 a month, for 3 premium channels, for 6 months. Also, the "bundles" savings has changed from $3.55 to $8.55, so at the second call, they can apply those changes, too. Hmm...talk about shady. You actually have to call to get that $8.55 bundles savings applied, rather than Cox applying it automatically for you. RIP OFF! So, after work, I had my dad re-add me to this bullshit list. This time around, I was told that I couldn't do the $22 special because that applied only to new customers and that promotion code belonged to another department. Instead, she was able to offer me the $20 for the 3 channels, for 3 months, which I took. Then, I decided to remove the 'Anonymous Caller Rejection' service, since we still got 'unknown callers', regardless of the service. What a freakin' waste of $3/month. Other things I hate about the company: - The stupid voice service that you have to talk to when you call customer service. Half the time, it doesn't even understand half of the crap I say. Give me the option to input my information over the phone...PLEASE! - Having to spend $6-$7 a month per each cable box rental. Why make us rent, when we should be able to buy? Cox makes us buy our internet modems. We should be able to buy the stupid cable boxes, too. Talk about a monopoly. - The convoluted "bundles" packages offered. For every teeney, tiny service you want, you have to always upgrade to the bigger and more expensive package. There is no way in hell you can break that into individual prices, for you to pick and choose. Want HD? You have to upgrade to another package and pay $1 more for your cable box rental. Want premium channels? Pay an additional $15 for the 'Extended Package' to get not only those premium channels, but 500 other channels you'll never watch. Oh, yeah, and pricing is per cable box. Again...RIP OFF. If ATT&T weren't just as expensive, or even more so, I swear I would switch. Unfortunately, the only thing Cox has going for them is quick internet downloads and the reliability of being up, running and working. So, they're actually good for something. read more

I don't personally watch tv. I used too but haven't for a few years now...My opinion is based on when I had cable and what I've heard from people recently... All my friends have COX. They all enjoy their COX for the most part. A female friend of mine has had COX for years. She got it based on recomendation from her Mom who swears by COX and her Dad whose been an advocate for COX for a long time... One of my friends complained that his COX was very slow and didn't give him the definition and speed COX had originally offered. I guess COX don't always keep their end of the bargain. I don't think you can hold COX too accountable though. I mean COX are all over the county and I'm sure it gets diffuculult to satisfy everyone. I'm sure COX would be willing to satisfy your needs if you needed them too. They have 24 hour COX support staff that are very friendly and very helpful. I never really write bad reviews, but that's honestly how frustrated I am with cox. My husband and I went in Wednesday inquiring about Internet and cable service. It was over our budget, but decided to sign up anyways since we hear good things about the reliability ... Plus the guy said the service would be up same day and that's what we needed. Well, it wasn't up the same day. We called many times waiting for 20 minutes on the phone for help and still no one could help us... Each person told us something different. Finally we got an appointment for someone to come by Saturday and they said our service should be up by 5 pm latest. Once again, it was not. I called this morning and the call center was closed. I had to do the online chat and they told me my equipment wasn't registered. So when I got home I contacted them again to register the equipment only to find out that it wasn't in their system?! Now, I have to wait until tues evening for a technician to come out. This is so frustrating as my husband and I work from home and can not run our business without Internet.
