Cox cable has to get a class action lawsuit if we all complain to Federal Trade Commission. The customer service was bad and not they off shore through use of a chat. After 13 texts and just repeately same message I had to text stop 3 times to Omar S. This is a technical support so called 'person who can not access our account. I went to neighbors and found out Oakloosa Island down since Saturday and Today is Tuesday after the long Labor Day weekend. The staff at HOA got a commitment up and running time of Tuesday 1pm pst. As of 545 pm cst COX still down. Oakloosa Island Leaseholder association as additional step we can take to unblock the strange hold COX has in Fort Walton Beach and Oakloosa Island. If you check my review 9 out of 10 positive. Cox is clearly a corrupt company and they offshore folks with no account access as technical support. I have had cox for a little over a year and hadn't had many problems couple of outages here and there nothing too concerning. I received an email stating that my speeds had been upgraded free of charge and to no one's surprise my bill increased after chatting online my chat was ended twice by two separate individuals and was told they can't lower my bill to the previous amount. I ordered Cox internet one year ago. It was decent enough and the price was good. I did have several outages but no big deal. After a year my rate went from $49.99 to $79.99. The "chat" feature on the app is terrible. A total waste of time!! I called customer no-service and within 2 minutes of talking with "Jovan" I went from "I'm not willing to pay that much" to. O.K. I'll cancel your service....done, no options. When I asked for his name he gave it but said "it don't matter, I cancelled you"... that is by far the fastest a company has given me the finger!!! today 9-22-2023 I feel I need to add my latest Cox Cable review as more satisfactory. Previously I wrote reviews suggesting cable seekers should not consider Cox, but now after I felt it necessary to write a letter, I did receive help. I was blessed this time to have contact with actual people including from the Cox office and an amazing tech person. Absolutely the worst internet provider I have ever had to deal with. My internet went out about a week ago, called to try and fix it. Could not be fixed over the phone and was told they could send a tech out, was scheduled for the 31st of July. I've gone and switched the modem out and of course my internet still isn't working. I refuse to believe that a tech can't be sent out sooner, especially since we had such a huge problem getting internet when we moved into our house. It truly sucks that this is the only internet provider for our area because COX is by far the worst to deal with. Thank you COX for being trash. read more

AGAIN I write........if I didn't have to give a star rating I would not give any. Look at all the horrible reviews. Cox cable and internet is absolutely horrible and they should not be able to continue. I have had to use them and I wish I wouldn't. I have had them for 20 years and paid my bill automatically and also pay for the complete care service which is a sham. If you do not need to use Cox DO NOT, you will be very sorry if you sign up with them. For the last 3 weeks again, no tv and no internet on and off with techs and even a supervisor giving the "run around" for solutions that don't work. This company should be sued. They scam you out of your money. They offer 60 for crappiest internet saying it's a promotion. End of 12 months they jack jt up to $80 and then tell you ohh sorry you missed calling us to stop raising your bill but we can give you a promotion for 100 mpb faster for $75. Because it cheaper people go with the even though they don't need faster internet. Then next 12 months the promotion is over again and it cost $95. But don't worry faster internet promotion is $85. But wait till 12 months later it's $104. Over time your playing twice as much and if you want that slow internet for $60, forget jt never get that promotion again. UPDATE: not only was I given a faulty modem after I told the employee I did not want to upgrade my service, they actually sent someone to my house to remove the cables from the outside of the building. This was multiple days after I started my new service with them and still had an active account. Customer service from this location has hung up on me multiple times, and it has now been a week that I have been paying for service with no internet. They scheduled a technician to come to my house, who missed their appointment time and still has not shown up. read more

The condo I am renting in Destin has Cox for Internet and TV. We reported it not working this morning. Now at Super Bowl kick off it still is not fixed. If I could give a zero I would. By far the worse costumer service! Their loyalty program is a joke, we signed up for the bundle package which we were told it was for 1 year. After two months, the bundle somehow dropped off and our new bill doubled! The first month it happened we were told they would credit our next month so we would not be charged. December rolls around and we were charged double again! We called to complain, we were bounced from the billing department to the loyalty department a few times. We were promised a reimbursement within 3-4 days (that was on 12/10) and our account would be fixed. We still do not have our refund and got our bill for January showing no bundle package and the bill still be $350! I have been on the phone now for almost an hour. Terrible terrible company, you don't even get an account made when you first sign up to pay online. You have to go out of your way to make an account which is crazy. I was lied to about the deal I was getting and wasn't told adding cable would add an extra cost because of the box I was renting. Not great service either, I will admit tho the range is longer than expected. But overall the worst internet company I've ever had. Hate how they're the only company in the area... they didn't even tell me there would be an installation cost with racked me 140$ extra dollars the first month. Just to plug in some cords... insane. If I could give zero stars, I would. Internet is slow and spotty, a lot of the times it doesn't even work. We watch a lot of sports and they never show good games, on Sunday they show 5 NFL games total all day. Worst cable I have ever had. WAY too expensive for what I get in return. They force us to give at least one star, even if undeserved. Cox lies about automation abilities. Months of aggravation, dozens of house visits, hundreds of hours, literally, without resolution. Instead, they say I must upgrade to security package, instead. I was told I would get a credit on my bill. Instead, they charged an additional installation fee, and gave no discount. So, they lie about what automation can do. They spend months replacing parts, resetting things, replacing more parts, making excuses, etc; but, they never make it work. I think it is all designed to wear us down. Make us compliant and open to paying even more, for the security monitoring, which requires a two year contract, and was their goal the whole time. We started with basic internet service, which was fine for a few months (some short downtimes). Added TV for the Olympics...tv menus terrible, many problems with the digital tv unit (dropped recordings, picture freezes, can't pause/play, etc.). Since we don't watch much TV we let that slide. Internet connection began dropping repeatedly, called tech support (Chris). He said my signal strength was awful and we should consider ourselves lucky things weren't worse. Then he tried to sell us insurance in case the problem was inside the house..um, no thanks. Then he scheduled a service call for two days later. No one showed up. Called tech support..got Justin. He said they didn't sched the appt right and someone "might" be able to come out later the same day. Asked for supervisor since I didn't want to wait on someone maybe showing up. Justin put me on terminal hold. Called customer service, got Tonya. She said she'd get a supervisor and promised not to put me on hold. She then put me on terminal hold. Called back and got Cherissa..she said no supervisor available. I could her someone faintly in the background giving her instructions so I asked for them. It was Pam who went and got me a supervisor without putting me on hold. Supervisor Mr. Ellis said no guarantees but he would call back and let me know when they could come out to fix it. He called back hours later and said someone would be there that night. Tech came out late that night and found I had signal strength outside the limits. Traced the entire system and discovered that the problem was at the drop at utility pole..not putting out prescribed signal strength. He put a call in to get it fixed (said it would be 24 hrs) and in the meantime, changed one of my splitters so that it sapped less signal strength. He said was within the ok zone (+10 - -10db..I was now at -7.6db). He also found that I was being charged for equipment I didn't have...I'm on the phone now (its been 90+ minutes and 7 departments to try to get the charge removed) while I type this update. Today's tech support: first the standard condescending instructions about how to unplug router and modem and reset everything. They could see my signal strength was in the red (apparently they don't get a # just colors). Didn't know anything about the problem with the drop but said if it was true it would be two weeks to fix (I saw the Cox bucket truck drive by, turn around and leave after doing nothing). Reset didn't help so they sent me to 'Tier 2' tech support...very snotty guy who didn't want to listen to any info from what the previous tech guys did or signal strength etc. He claimed it was someone stealing my wifi or my microwave oven. This is completely illogical since the signal strength is being measured prior to the wireless router. Tried to convey this and that the modem is showing yellow lights not green, he replied that the modem lights have no meaning. Also, my wifi is password protected with a strong password, WEP2 and I live out away from town. I went ahead anyway and let him guide me though changing my wifi channel and network name (which makes you change that info on every device in house btw)..this is the same baloney the UVerse guys did all the time but their basic tech guys could do that...no change, no improvement, no consistent internet. It's been a week now and I'm giving a star back solely on the customer service of Maude who answered one of my phone calls to tech support. She listened, looked at my readings, apologized for all my troubles and did some research on my case. She called back the next day and again today. Cox should have all techs learn from her..she acts like she gives a damn. We have another tech appt tomorrow to fix the drop. I spent several hours reading about my problem (very common) and discovered I can read my modem signal...I can see the low signal strength and also that it is sometimes on 5 channels and sometimes on only one. Sometimes I'm at max advertised speed (according to speedtest.net) ~30Mbps (if I take my TV splitter out to get more signal strength), sometimes I'm dropped completely, sometimes Im crawling at .1Mbps..these are download speeds btw, my uploads speeds are excellent. So I asked for a new modem...removed router from system and had same results. Alas no FIOS, not even UVerse, etc. available in our area (Shalimar). read more

Go with DIRECTV. Cox service is crap. The signal is crap. Sometimes their feed would freeze for 5 to 10 minutes. And it wasn't an "every now and then" kind of thing. I've never been more upset with Cox Cable in till now. Our bill was up tp $275 a month which started at about $150 a month. My husband and I decided we were going to go to the antenna and try to stream but because we didn't know what we were doing I got frustrated and decided to talk to Cox see if I can get my bill down. I called several times and not until the third or fourth time that I get someone who actually was willing to help me, let me add I've been a customer with Cox for 23 years. So, this past Friday I talked to a very nice young lady who told me she could get my bill down to $149 a month, I told her all I wanted was channels 2 through 70. As she was working through switching everything around I said to her on more than two times does this include channels 2 through 70 and each time she said yes. I specifically told her we like to watch ESPN and NASCAR . We were on the phone for 35 minutes. So I went ahead with what we had discussed went down to the Cox store in Destin and returned everything got my new box went home and hooked everything up. ( I was in the Cox store approximately 30 minutes.) I felt accomplished that I actually got the bill down and it included channels 2 through 70. So I watched my soap opera and then went about my business getting my chores done for the day. Later that evening I sit down to watch TV turn it to channel 40 and it says this channel is not active he must call and have it activated. I was like what's going on. So here I go calling Cox Cable once again I talked to one gentleman who said oh no you only get channel 2 through 23. I said well that's not what I was promised so he transfers me to somebody else who tells me oh well it had to have been a misunderstanding. So, I tell him I specifically asked her if I was going to get channels 2 through 70 and she said yes. So now he tells me if I would like to add channels 24 through 70 my bill will go up to $201 a month. I said no that's not what I was promised. He says will let me go see if I can find another deal and get you down a little bit so he comes back and tells me I can get it to $194 a month. I said no that's not what I was promised. I said so y'all record those phone calls I would like for someone to go back and listen to my phone call and see what she said and he tells me he doesn't have the authority to do that. I said what I would like a supervisor or whoever does have the authority to do that to listen to what was said. And he tells me we'll let me go look up the rules on the way to go about this. He comes back and says we'll actually it's only used for learning and helping us provide better service so even if we listen to it there's nothing we can do to your account to change it. I am furious! I was on the phone for 35 minutes.) they can listen to the mistakes they made but they can't correct them? So what good does it do to listen to mistakes if you're not going to do anything about it and that's exactly what he said was going to happen. I can get those channels added for $194 a month. So, last night I try to to stream ESPN n my phone to watch the CWS baseball and it says I do not have a subscription through my cable company. As a 23-year customer I feel like your loyalty to the customer is null and void. So, as soon as possible I will be returning everything and canceling my entire Cox Cable. They botched the installation twice and then charged us for their mistakes....then they could not apply the so called "campaign codes" and our monthly bill was immediately elevated to $220...the cable is constantly down...this company should be shut down by the government. We found out that Cox bought the rights for sea glass apartments and so direct TV or any other company is not an option....how is this legal? Cox communications cable service unacceptable. Negative 5 Stars if I could rate them that way. In Destin Florida they just switched over to a new mini box system. We have 5 TVs in a house and after 3 service calls they still haven't gotten them all working. When I called to have a tech out for the fourth visit, their service group says they can't have someone out for 2 days, when I tell them after 3 prior visits I find that unacceptable, they say they can't do anything. Even after asking to talk to a supervisor. The Floor Supervisor named "John" still says he can't do anything and then I get a short/curt attitude when I ask to talk to someone else.
