I've for the last several years STRICTLY only moved to places that offer multiple high-speed/fiber competitors for ISP, as that usually means way better pricing and service (since they know you can just swap to a different one). However, we decided to take the risk and move to our current place in Vegas, where Cox is the only option. Started as we've all grown used to with ISP's, we booked an appointment, they somehow lost that booking on their end, and we lost it, and they had to schedule us again for the following day. However, and no one is holding a gun to my head here, from that point on our initial experience with Cox out here has been fantastic. They waived the $100 fee for failing to book the first appointment properly. The gfirst tech came out, quickly got new wiring dropped into our office once I gave him the go ahead, AND without me saying a word noticed on his own that the street cabling was crapping the bed and scheduled another tech to come and replace it. That tech was supposed to take typically between 3-7 days according to Cox (who called almost immediately to let us know). He showed up just about 45 minutes from when the first guy left (same day). Cruised through replacing the line, and took off. THEN TODAY (following day) I hear the doorbell, it's a THIRD Cox tech, coming to double check the work and ask if things have been smooth since it was done. I am extremely satisfied with their customer service so far, and we're getting the correct speeds as advertised (940/35; plus, with all brand new wiring from the street to our modem). My only complaint is the jacked up prices (we're paying double what we did for AT&T 1000/1000 fiber at our last place), but that's typical of any area where only one ISP has dominance for higher speed internet. The service is suck in this location. I have been with Cox for more than 5 years. They keep increase my bill from 70 to 100, due to I am not a new client, but loyalty client. I have to call every time to cancel by service in order to get one more year new client discount. Finally I find centurylink in my area has better speed and better price. I went to Cox Sahara Vegas this location to cancel my service. The rep Edward G** was helping me, gave me a very bad look and attitude. Cox should rethink how equipment is processed from a customers point of view. Returning a brand new still in box equipment, and account is already cancelled. They scan it but will not give you a receipt. 45-60 minute wait to obtain a receipt. This is the second trip to store and wait time is consistently terrible. Cox does not value its customers time. Over the last 15 years, being out on my own, Cox has been my least favorite cable provider. I've been telling my wife we need to switch since we moved in together. She finally had enough with the high prices, and bad customer service, so we switched to the competitor. I had to return our prior DVR's, and dreaded it! I went into the store expecting long lines, bad service, having to argue with the employee, and dealing with a non helpful manager. To my surprise the experience was quite the opposite! There were 5 people in there, before I me. I was in and out of there in less than 30 minutes. There was plenty of staff, which were all very efficient, helpful, patient, and friendly! The store was very clean, and organized. The parking situation and the lot leave a lot to be desired! That, combined with my frustration with Cox, is the only reason this location received 3 Stars, instead of 5! If you must do business with Cox, this is the location I recommend you use. read more

I give this location a full 5 stars simple because service was quick and efficient. The wait was long, but that was expected. Our Cox bill (for the same service) went from $185 in 2017, to $205 in 2018, to $255 in 2019. Throughout all that time, our phone, TV and internet services have been unreliable, sometimes unusable, requiring more tech visits than I can even remember. Given the numerous broken promises and outright lies we had endured dealing with Cox by phone, I thought perhaps an in-person visit would yield a better outcome. Alas, that didn't happen. After a long wait, I was greeted by a friendly and empathetic rep. She offered a couple of odd cost-reduction strategies (reducing $60+ of services for an $18 reduction in my monthly bill!), then excused herself without explanation. Several minutes later, she returned with a "supervisor" who offered his "help." But his idea of "help" was to first insult my intelligence and then insult me personally, offering nothing except the obvious, platitudes and puffery. He then flat out told me that if I'm not happy with Cox, I should find another provider (as if Cox doesn't have a monopoly in our area). So, rather than make things better, he actually reaffirmed my opinion that Cox offers unreliable products and horrible customer service, all at outrageously high prices -- because they know they can get away with it. If an appropriate alternative for these services ever emerges, I'll dump Cox in a heartbeat! read more

If I could rate a negative star I would but unfortunately that's not an option. The customer service for Cox cable (not store reps) is the worst I've ever seen. We have had several different reps and all of them have been incompetent and rude. We are being charged for premium channels we did not authorize and they said it was canceled months ago but my bill is still showing charges. One anti customer service rep put us on hold whenever she didn't like what we were saying. When I called back days later I asked if there was a note re our previous call and that rep said yes "stated customer hung up" then I asked to speak to a manager twice and they put you on terminal hold. I waited 30 minutes each time and had to hang up. I am putting together my exit strategy to leave them!! Worst customer service ever!! read more

Customer service for cable companies always get the short end of the stick. But I wanted to highlight how smooth of an experience I had at this location. I was greeted by multiple employees upon walking in the door. I was there to simply swap out a remote my dog said used as a chew toy and was in and out the door in under five minutes. This review is for their internet connection. Cutting ties with Cox is much like ending an abusive, codependent relationship. The experience brought up almost the exact same feelings. Cox has a whole department dedicated to getting you to stay with them, & I realized breaking up was hard to do when my call to end things with Cox was forwarded to a guy with a nice voice & good negotiation skills, a smooth talker. These guys are probably used to doing the 'sales talk' with exes & customers alike. Looking back on the nearly 2-year relationship, it seems Cox wasn't unlike that crazy man-child ex that introduced you to (& maybe got you hooked on) extremely addictive stuff: speed. Crazy internet connection speeds, that is. So here's the lowdown on breaking up with Cox: 1) They'll be begging you to come back. You know it. Especially once they find out you downgraded to a DSL connection that's like 75% slower (though actually comparable). They'll give you a list of pros for staying with them. 2) They're suddenly available. They kept telling us it could cost as much as $50 to get a tech to come out & check our eternally intermittent connection. Anyway, tech comes out & says he just moved the thing (I dunno, I'm not a tech) from the corroded trap to another, & that seemed to fixed the problem. For like a day. In other words, it didn't. He didn't charge anything, but he didn't fix the problem, either. The moment we called to break up with Cox, they offered us equipment rental, & said they'd get a supervisor to come check out our issues ASAP -- all for free. Just IMHO if you're being charged an arm & a leg by Cox, it might be a good idea to blackmail them a little bit, threaten them with a break up. That's how you get them to propose. 3) You'll be getting photos of Cox in your inbox. 'Junk' mail. You know they're coming. Oh yeah, they'll be there with your Sunday paper coupons. Flyers here & there, begging you to come crawling back. You might even see their van down the street at your neighbor's every now & then. But you've moved on. At least you're trying to. 4) Your newfound love is older, but more stable. You're getting older & that speed you got hooked on? It's not doing it for you anymore. DSL is older, but more stable -- if you have your own line & you're not sharing that line with 500 other homes (which was the case with us when we were with Cox, according to our new internet provider). You no longer want a (super mega) fast life. You've had your fun with Cox, & now you need stability in your life. Cox seemed to sense when we were starting to drift away & out of nowhere bumped our internet speed (for free) from 100 mbps to 150. That was the day we signed on with the competition. The free speed increase almost had us running back to Cox, but we restrained ourselves. The problem wasn't the speed -- it was the notorious intermittence. So ladies (& gents), you may want to consider the possibility that you don't need Cox in your life. You're a strong, independent person. Try DSL. read more

The wait time is ridiculous, there is at least 3 people out back you can hear them talking and laughing. Meanwhile there's only two people upfront. I have been to this location twice. I'm fearful of reviewing any Cox location because Cox Communications as a company has an abusive history of not being concerned with their customers true needs and interests, overcharging, increasing bill fees/rates with little or very hidden notice. With this location I am impressed. Plenty of friendly staff - checkin on the iPad as you enter, wait for you name to be called. How do I hate the, let me count they ways... I hate the to the depth of the my consumer sould. I hate the to bottom of the worst list. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Cox used to have great service and great customer service. I left Las Vegas for 2 years and came back and placed my order for EVERYTHING with Cox. Well, that everything cost twice as much.... and over a period of 4 months and over 100 technical support calls, there are some things that just never got fixed. To add insult to injury after have the DVR replaced once and another person came back, I was told by a supervisor that a lot of them aren't tagged as bad and are sent back in the field and he tried 3-4 more in one visit until one worked. (sort of, it never fully worked) I finally just cut them because I can watch a couple of shows over the air and stream the rest. I didn't like the VoIP phones either as I was told they were not power dependent and that was not correct. At the end of months of problems, hours and hours on the phone, dozens of e-mails when i dumped them, they sent me a bill for a DVR! I'm not sure what on earth I would do with one of their DVS but they were big, ugly silver metal things that I sure wouldn't want. I know darn well in all those swap outs someone forgot to check oe back in but I had one last fight and that was to NOT pay them for something I didn't have. I'm glad I never let any company take money out of my accounts. (I always do electronic payment where I send it, they don't take it.) I would not recommend Cox Communication to anyone who wants reliable, reasonably priced service or competent and caring service staff! read more

Slow service. Only 4 representatives to help over flow of people. 8 People left during my wait and customers were skipped on the waiting queue and put on the list before me. When I talked with representative on the phone, made it sound like it would be a quick process to walk in and get a phone modem. I sat over an hour from checkin to being seen. If I could, I would give this place negative stars. THEY ARE LIARS. Even when you can get through to someone, they place you on hold for the longest time and then lie to you about everything. I went to suspend my service because I had gone through a difficult time. I still have my service on suspension while I wait for my old roommates to give me back my cable box, so I can cancel my contract with them. I was told the suspension would be $20 a month So I received a bill last month for $48.59, so I thought that was partly because I recently started the suspension. Today I received a bill for $50.37, after being reassured that I was on suspension. So I was lied to by several people about the $20 a month. I'm currently on the phone with a representative (shocker I know), and she just said that my account is active. So the idiots didn't put me on suspension and I had spoken to several people. Cox cannot run a business and they don't need any of my money. I wouldn't recommend their faulty service to anyone, not even an enemy. If one wants issues and horrible customer service and internet connection that goes out and long hold times and not even guaranteed talking to people and outrageous bills, be my guest, but as for me, I know there are better companies out there. Update, I just got off the phone with Marina. She was patient, but still. I'll see if her words hold true about a manager calling me back within 24 hours. Yes, 24 hours. I know people complain a lot and its probably not the best idea to go here when its busy but I recently had excellent service here. I needed to upgrade from their "mini"" cable box to a regular one. The issue was mine, as my surround sound needed a port the regular box has. I was in and out in 15 minutes even though, I entered as number five on the wait list. Staff was friendly, helpful and straight to the point. I also have their Homelink security and am a fan of it. It works great. read more

There is never anyone available to speak to you on the phone unless you're getting signed up then their systems are always down their customer service forces you to speak to a machine instead of a person and the machine never has the right answers or any answers at all whether that be via text or on the phone. I've been trying to access my account for a while now I can't get my Wi-Fi on because I can't gain access to my account every time I call whether that be during the daytime or during night time their call center is always "closed" read more

VERY pricey service and the contour package is insane. In order to get their best DVR, you have to include the contour service which is supposed to "improve your viewing experience". It did nothing for me other than to add $24.95 to my bill every month. I just got an email from Cox that I went over my monthly data usage. WTF? When I signed up there was no mention of any limits on bandwidth at all, now I guess they're going to charge me for the overage. *** update... I just found their policy on overage and it does not mention any bill increase. The policy says that they will let you know about the overage and suggest that you upgrade your plan. if the overage continues, they can cancel your account. Sounds fair enough to me. I'll upgrade my rating to 3 stars *** I just reviewed the Cox sales site again and see no mention of bandwidth limits. It seems that this is an unethical practice. I wish I could give them no stars. After my cable and Internet being hit and miss since August 8 months. I call to disconnect and I get $333 in charges, a theft threat to return my cable box. Funniest of all a supervisor at their corporate offices claims I have 4 cable boxes from their service I disconnected in 2010 ( yup 7 years ago) and she has proof because she has serial numbers. They want $1200 for the cable boxes from 2010. don't waste your money! They are criminals and have no clue what they are doing!!! Now Id like to give them negative 5 stars!!! After I proved they didn't have cable boxes ect from 2010, I recieved a bill in the mail. This time from March 2016 for $2200 that was ordered by my husband. After being transferred around for an hour and a half, I had them email me the equipment charges and the dates. Needless to say my husband died feb 16 2015 and somehow ordered these things from beyond the grave. They transfer me and the woman informs me I have 10 days to send them a death certificate. After driving around looking for cox locations in Las Vegas I finally found one open. When I walked in this store I was immediately greated with a warm welcome by a young lady who advised me to sign in. In the midst of me signing I'm I was then greated by customer service representative Dylan. He was well dressed spoke well made a few jokes and we complemented eachother on a few things we had in common. He was very friendly, professional, and very very helpful, he even took time to break down my steps I would need for the device I came to pick up. The work environment in it self speaks volume. 9240 location is very clean the tables are spaced out to allow guest to still social distance, but gives you a since of togetherness all at the same time. I never really like leaving reviews but I was extremely wow'd especially by the customer service I was given by all the staff members, but Dylan is your guy fr. I can't say everything was bad. The internet did work better than any other service. Just don't believe they will do anything more than hook up or cancel your service. As far as personal goes.
