Came with my dad for a quick lunch. Staff was super friendly recommending items and having a positive attitude. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Interior was very pretty, nice lighting, and very clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ended up ordering the carne asada quesadillas and the fish tacos. Fish tacos were ok, fish felt like it needed a bit more seasoning even with all the fixings on top of it. The carne asada quesadillas were good but something was overpowering, but, not a bad flavor at all despite it. Will definitely come back to try more

Food comes out fast and is really good! I had the grouper tacos and coyo guac & chips. Good service and cute inside too. Would definitely recommend.

Decided to do lunch at this cute spot, I had been meaning to go to. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Place and ppl are welcoming and everything looks so good.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's was a challenge to see what I wanted to eat. I do recommend this place and will be coming here more often.

Went during a Thur afternoon. I was famished when I arrived that I didn't even read they had HH taking place. Take advantage of the great deals on drinks, tacos, and sides. Easy parking. Fantastic staff. And food was amazing. Big portions, so be mindful of your appetite. I had leftovers and took two tacos for dinner. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Place hosts a lot of UM students and has ample space for big groups.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A+

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Coyo taco never fails to impress with the great food, tasty drinks, and a cool atmosphere where you'll always have a nice time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The bartenders are cool and alt and the hosts that take your order are as sweet as the churros! You'll have a blast here and it will not disappoint.

The first time I tried coyo tacos was when my work got catering, and it was absolutely delicious. I was obsessed with the Elote and the beef, chicken, and pork were delicious. Perfectly tender and well seasoned. They came with the catering burners and the person who delivered it set it up perfectly. Even though it arrived 45 minutes before I was able to eat it, I still had warm food that wasn't overcooked. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I cannot say anything about the ambience because I have not been to the restaurant, but I will talk about the delivery experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got delivery through DoorDash and wow, was I disappointed. I opened up the paper bag that came in, and saw a tiny box that contained my two tacos. I mean wow. So small. Itty-bitty itty-bitty itty-bitty for $10. The meat was good. I had asked for a side of sauce and I see none. They're also are no onions. Definitely will stick to my usual taco places really very disappointed.

Had a phenomenal time and we always do whenever we go to Coyo Taco. This time around we went to check out their new Rib Eye taco and it was phenomenal! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Space is always a vibe and the staff is always awesome and willing to help/answer any questions we have or make recommendations.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Quick, fast, easy and DELICIOUS go to spot.

Tasty and consistent. This location was quicker than the others with the food and the sauce station was very well kept. Ample seating inside and a nice bar but the parking is right and right off US1 so it's easy to pass the drive. Overall great experience.

This place is my go to whenever I want great Mexican food and good cocktail drinks. Came here for happy hour that I believe is between 4 PM through 7 PM. They have margaritas specials and I believe beer as well. The drink was perfect and I had no complaints. This is my go to spot for a happy hour in the Gables. I also recommend trying their quesadillas, amazing!

Great place near Um. Amazing food and service. Tuesday is 50% tacos and Happy hour from 4-7p

I guess they can fill more guests in, which would be OK if the ones seating two were not so small and pushed uncomfortably between the glass panels and the way of the servers to go back and forth. We used to always have the melted cheese for appetizer and the garlic shrimp with white rice, priced at $25 and the shrimp were juicy and large. Lots of garlic and huge shrimp, think there were six per plate. Ambitious margaritas were delicious and just the right amount of alcohol. The rim was evenly coated with coarse salt and they were really a treat. The last time we were there was the night after Thanksgiving last year and we were extremely disappointed. Food arrived before cutlery and we had to ask for napkins. We kept getting bumped by workers in the narrow traffic space and the margaritas were heavily watered down with salt on the rim an afterthought. To add insult to injury, the much smaller shrimp were separated from the rice, very dry (overcooked) and tasteless. They were served on a flat plate not conducting to hold butter or whatever they used to cook the garlic in and the poor shrimp looked like they didn't belong there. I take they have a different chef and are cutting costs because everything is more expensive now. Well, so was our bill that took a ridiculous hike. The price that stuck to my memory was the garlic shrimp, from $25 to $34 for a much smaller and inferior quality dish. So from being our favorite Mexican place in Gables to being taken off the list.

Mauricio was at the bar and we definitely missed being under his attention by not sitting there. Eliezer (the Venezuelan waiter from Mérida) took care of us in the dining room. Both are always very friendly and attentive. This time we decided to sit in the dining room because we were a group of three and had a lot to talk about. The place has 4 TVs and we were able to enjoy the France vs Spain match. We all ordered La Tropical Draft beer, a light, smooth, and very refreshing blonde. In total we had 16 beers . We shared nachos with grilled steak, which were very good (they pour the melted cheese right at the table). We also ordered tripa tacos well toasted (that's the technique) as we requested, and they came out excellent. Note: They have different promotions or offers depending on the day, not a regular happy hour variety, so it's good to be aware of that. The restaurant offers a good variety of 8 salsas: Sirloin, Chips, Guacamole, Verde, Vicente, Pastor, Chilanga, and Asada. Good atmosphere, pleasant service, and tasty food. We'll definitely keep coming back.

Parking was a bit challenging due to the limited number of spaces, but once we walked inside, the experience more than made up for it. We were warmly greeted by Carolina, who also became our server. She was incredibly patient and took her time walking us through the menu, explaining each dish and how everything is prepared. Her dedication to customer satisfaction truly stood out, and we hope management recognizes what an asset she is. Carolina proudly shared that every item on the menu is made in‑house, and it absolutely shows. My wife ordered the Quesadilla de Pollo with a side of Arroz Mexicano and couldn't stop talking about the exceptional flavors. I chose the Tostada al Pastor, a small Tortilla Soup, and a side salad. Everything was delicious, but the Tortilla Soup was the star of the meal--a perfect example of why in‑house preparation matters. Since we're not from the area, we weren't sure where to go for lunch, and we truly lucked out choosing Don Maguey--and having Carolina as our server. Thank you, Carolina. When I looked 20 minutes after at my credit card statement read I had been charged $77 and change pending a potential tip on top of that, even with tip included it is still over approximately $7 what I signed off for. We called to determine the prices of each individual meal and "the manager" was stumbling to tell us the prices for everything. Even with the fake numbers that were given to us it still didn't add up correctly. I remember the prices for the 3 meals my family and I ordered and I remember what the check said. I let it be because maybe they need more than I do. As for the food, I'm born and raised on the border of Mexico and although I must say it does scream authenticity especially on appearance the meat is bland, and that "Mexican rice" is by far the worst tasting rice I've had. For a casual person that likes Mexican food you may like it, but if you know what you're tasting you will not. Also, they didn't have 4 different things on the menu available ultimately leading me to have to go with my 5th option. It is very expensive for what it is, and even more expensive when your waitress manipulates the system.

The margaritas were great, the plantains are always a hit, and the tres leches was solid -- loved the coconut flavor, just couldn't finish it after everything else. The pork belly tacos are my usual favorite, but this visit they missed the mark slightly -- the pork portion was too big for the taco and the shell had already fallen apart before I could even pick it up.
