Then we waited an additional 12 minutes and had to flag someone down for service. I ordered dry rub wings; wings were poorly executed. No dry rub, no flavor, NOT EVEN SALT!! I love this place! The staff were so nice and friendly! My friend and I stopped by here for a quick appetizer and margaritas while we wait for happy hour at another place. We ordered Chicken wings - $13 Fries - $5 Pitcher of margarita - $32 We were so surprised that the chicken wings came with 14 wings!!!! I feel like usually when you order wings they come with a 7 or so. They came out as dry/unseasoned wings and was given a hot sauce dip that kind of taste like Popeyes hot sauce! And we were given a plate fries, I'm not sure what the fries cut was but it was kind of like steak fries but a bit smaller/thinner? The margaritas were so good and so strong! Waiting time after you order your appetizers- takes 25 -30mins just to get ur order. I overheard they only have 1 cook and 2 waiters etc...it looked like they had staff shortage. 2. Vegans beware!!! I ordered the Soyrizo Burrito for pickup and asked on the phone if it was vegan. I was told yes, it is vegan. My girlfriend ordered the Coyote Quesadilla. Neither of us got the food we had ordered in the way the menu (or the host) described. The burrito was loaded with cheese (I unfortunately realized this too late and ate most of it. I am vegan and this is disgusting to me -- clearly not what I ordered) and was missing beans, while the quesadilla was missing peppers, onions and other veggies. Ate here while in Avalon a couple of weeks ago with my grandson. Food was great & the staff was friendly. We ate out on the patio because of well ... you know .... Pandemic Regs UGH but I'll want to go back again when the wait isnt so long and we can get to eat inside as well. I had shrimp and my grandson had a chicken quesadilla. We were both happy. Let me preface this by saying I am Mexican and I eat authentic Mexican food. I mention this because as I was perusing the menu, I heard a local raving about the pozole. Therefore, I ordered the pozole and taquitos with rice and beans. The latter was decent. The pozole on the other hand made me physically throw up. The chicken was clearly not properly cooked as it was still pink and the soup itself had absolutely no flavor. Flavor wise, I'm not sure if it's lack of resources or skills. This year for my birthday, my boyfriend surprised me with a trip to Catalina. Unfortunately, with the whole COVID situation we were extremely limited on activities and places to eat. I ordered the fish and chips with a frozen strawberry margarita and ask for chips and salsa for an appetizer. My boyfriend ordered himself the carne sada tacos with rice and beans with a beer. We received our food before we even received the chips and salsa appetizer, so I had to request for it to be cancelled. My boyfriend was pretty bummed when he got his tacos because it had an abundance of onion on it, which was failed to be mentioned on the menu or by the waitress but we let it be because well, its tacos that should of been a bit expected. My margarita tasted a bit weak, but the fish and chips were delicious. The carne sada tacos were decent and the beans were good, but the rice on the other hand was hardly touched for its lack of flavor. We're San Diego natives, so maybe we have a high expectation? Besides the alright food, I gave this place a two star because I believe is definitely overpriced for its quality of food and service. Our waitress would breeze by us and only stopped when I called for her because I was missing the ranch I asked for when I originally placed my order. My daughter was not happy with her burrito. She said the asada had no flavor and was fatty. By the way this turned out to be a $25 burrito!! It was $18 on the menu but they charged us an additional $3 for fries and $4 for the carne asada. WTF!! I think everyone knows that a California burrito comes with fries and steak!! Drinks served right away. But meal took over 45 minutes and my cheese enchiladas were not melted. The atmosphere looked fun. So we stopped. But when we went in. Service was good & food was fine, my issue is with the FAILURE TO DISCLOSE ON THE MENU THAT THE CHURROS CONTAIN NUTS. I ate dinner there with my scout troop on April 12, 2025. Some of the scouts ordered the churros, which were described on the menu as having a "chocolate drizzle." One of the scouts took a bite of the churros and immediately said she believed the churros contained nuts. When asked, our server confirmed the churros have hazelnuts in them. Fortunately, the scout's reaction to the nut exposure was not anaphylactic, but the incident put a damper on the rest of the evening for the whole group, not to mention was very concerning to me as an adult leader responsible for other people's children while on this scout trip. After the fact, I reviewed the menu and noted that the churro description did not mention hazelnuts or have any sort of indication that it contained nuts, a very common allergen, which is widely known can cause very serious reactions in some people. Churros are not something I would typically think may contain nuts to specifically ask a server about whether it contained nuts. I spoke with our server before we left the restaurant, and pointed out the issue with the menu, but who knows if the information will make it to the owner or whoever has the authority to change the printed menu or the ingredients used in the churros at this establishment BEFORE SOMEONE HAS AN ANAPHYLACTIC REACTION THAT COULD COMPLETELY BE AVOIDED by simply disclosing on the menu that this item contains hazelnuts. read more

My favorite place on the island due to the ample quantity of vegan/vegetarian options, including beyond tacos, and they're always happy to accommodate my special requests as well, which is nice.
