Visited cozumel with my wife recently to have a flashback from our good old days of living in Broadview Hts. We remember when this was the one and only Cozumel in Northeast Ohio. And it was the best Mexican food we could find back in 2001. Now, there are seven locations and we've visited most of them. On this visit, we requested our favorite food and drink - fajitas for two and two large, frozen margaritas. It's what we ate 20 years ago and it's what we still enjoy. We waited 10 minutes for a table on a busy Friday night. After requesting, our food arrived within 10 minutes. The warm tortilla chips and salsa were as good as always. The service was excellent. Food overall was a little better than your typical Mexican restaurant. I really liked the chips and salsa here more than other places. The queso was a fantastic appetizer and can't wait to try the guacamole next time. Both entrees had good flavor and what would expect. The churros were a little let down. They had great sugar flavor but I've definitely had better churros. The Ice cream with it through me off. I'd rather have just been given better quality churros with some drizzle of a syrup. The ambiance was great and the patio we ate on was really nice with tons of umbrellas for shade. I'm officially done. Too many disappointments. This time, served the most miniscule wings I have ever seen. Are they cornish hen wings? They were literally the size of my thumbs -- and no, i don't have big hands. Then I order my usual...Al pastor tacos. Unlike in the past the contents of the taco were completely drenched is some kind of sauce which I did not find good at all. I immediately notify the waiter after tasting a piece of the meat. We came here for dinner for a girls night out. We were seated right away and our drink orders were taken! I love that thing bring salsa and chips to the table quickly. We ordered the guacamole but it is nothing special and it was watery so i wouldn't recommend getting this. I ordered the fajita for one which is always very good! I wish they would they give you more than 3 small tortillas though. They usually refill our drinks and chips frequently however I think our waiter was new so this didn't happen. read more

Dined in during a weekday dinner and had terrible service from Ambrocio. He took forever to take our food order, never refilled our waters, and was not friendly. He checked on nearby tables multiple times, and barely checked on us. I would've preferred to not tip well but he grabbed my card. Great Mexican takeout spot in the center of broadview hts. All of the food good. The Mexican tacos where super tasty and filled with so much meat they where falling apart! I actually had so much extra meat that fell out while I was eating my tacos I was able to make a taco bowl with my side of rice. I called ahead to order take out and they said it would be a 20 min wait. By the time I left the house and got there my food was almost ready. The staff was friendly and professional! If you're looking for some good takeout in the Cleveland area you should definitely give one of the Cozumels locations a try! read more

Very good experience, great wait staff, RAPID food delivery (five minutes - so don't cram the chips and salsa as there will not be time to recover!), clean surroundings, and high quality and tasty food. This is our second time at this location (and overall), and we are impressed again by the service, very well made salsa and chips (a means by which I judge a Mexican restaurant - with good reason not expounded herein), the high quality and taste of the margaritas, and the high quality of the food. We had various entrees but each was of high quality, good quantity, and tasty. Well worth the price, which is slightly higher than typical Mexican restaurants, but well spent. Lunch menu at Cozumel is quick, and inexpensive. Everyone receives their own salsa bowl to ensure you don't have to worry about double dipping. Fire burrito was not as described, more like a warm burrito I think to ensure it is not to spicy for the general public. Their version of a burrito is meat of your choice rolled up in a 12 inch flour shell with cheese and sauce sprinkled over it with a side of Mexican rice and salad. Satisfying based on volume and price, you should expect a step above normal Mexican restaurants. read more

I'm not a big Mexican guy, I can rarely find anything on the menu that I can't get at chipotle or something like that. However, Cozumel was really good. I got this chicken and rice dish, it was excellent. Yes I can probably get a similar taco at chipotle but I felt this was really good and very reasonably priced. While the food wasn't bad but it was a very frustrating experience. Two people in my party ordered combinations. One was perfect! The other wasn't what was ordered and the person who brought it to the table left it anyways. The waiter never came back to check that everything came out from the kitchen ok so she just ate it. I ordered a quesadilla. Normally when I order this from other places it comes with some sour cream and salsa. This was just a quesadilla on a plate. Not cut up, nothing. It wasn't bad. We actually are still sitting here with our plates at the end of the table waiting for a bill. Still waiting. Yup still waiting. Oh wait someone may have noticed we were sitting here. Nope they just picked up the plates. Trying to decide if we have to just go to the register and pay without a bill. Hmmmm. Oh there it is. My family and I recently moved to Broadview Heights and we have eaten at Cozumel three times so far. Every time our meals have been fantastic and the service is amazing. They come to offer us refills even before we need them and they clear our empty plates away quickly. Our food is always served quickly and fresh and they even make sure to take care of our toddlers. I came here for dinner with a few friends and I have to say, the food was not too shabby. We started out with chips with salsa, then with the cheese dip (highly recommend the cheese dip!). It has such a great casual atmosphere but is so lively that we felt no pressure to hurry up our conversation or move on to placing our orders. When we did order, I got the enchilada with beef tips. When the food came out I was surprised to see how large the portion was. I thought the enchilada was tasty and it came with a nice helping of rice, tomatoes, guacamole and sour cream. I ended up taking half of it home. I will point out that I have no basis for knowing what an authentic enchilada should taste like. I really liked it but I can't say anything in regards to its authenticity. A friend got a vegetarian enchilada (that is an option!) which she was very satisfied with. The other two friends got taco salads which were also well received. Sadly I forgot to take pictures before we attacked the food... Between the good food, good company, cheery atmosphere and randomly joining in to sing Feliz Cumpleaños to another patron - it was a great night. If you want to have even more fun, I hear the margaritas are great! Also, the price? My large enchilada turned out to be less than $10 which was fantastic! Mexican is my favorite type of food and Cozumel is one of the best in the area. The fresh, daily made salsa and chips to start are hard to stay away from. The service is great, fast and you don't have to wait to long to get your food once you've ordered. Absolutely, dreadful food. When Cozumel first opened, it was good but it has deteriorated to the point that I will NEVER return. The food is terrible. The carne asada was so over-cooked - fried, dark brown in color and was like eating shoe leather. The soft chicken tacos were stuffed with cold, shredded chicken and (I swear) Velveeta cheese. The chicken Flautas were cold and greasy. Nothing was seasoned properly. I don't know what has happened to this restaurant but the last three visits were terrible. Three strikes, you're out. I will not recommend this to _anyone. Go to Dos Coronos in Brecksville. That place is still new enough that they care what they are serving. read more

The item I receive for $13 was a scrawny flat burrito with literally 8 slivers of chicken and a handful of tomato and onion. No comment on being short vegetables when I placed the order.
